Wls server

Hi
I have WLS running with one admin and 2 managed servers.
Right now the servers are started from the command prompt , so I can
look at the console and know what is happening in the system
We would like to make it run like as a windows service, but would like
to see the messages that ends up in the console
Can we / how do we do that?
Please advise
TIA

someone please?

  • Error:Unable to reserve .lok file for Integrated WLS server (DefaultServer)

    Hi,
    I am having jdev 11.1.1.1.0.
    Many times I get following error while running my application pages:
    Unable to reserve the .lok file for Integrated WLS server (DefaultServer). Typically this is because another instance of this server is already running in the WLS domain.
    The only way out is to close jdev, delete system11.1.1.1.33.54.07 folder and open jdev again.
    Why is this error dialog shown? Is there any permanent solution?
    TIA

    Thanks for quick reply!
    As suggested in the given thread, I logged into the weblogic console http://127.0.0.1:7101/console/ as 'weblogic' user.
    On the left hand side in the 'View changes and restarts' section, no pending changes are shown. It shows following text:
    Configuration editing is enabled. Future changes will automatically be activated as you modify, add or delete items in this domain.
    Please advise. I can share the application.zip if needed.

  • APEX Listener on WLS Server Basic

    Hi,
    Does APEX Listener technically comply with restrictions for WLS Server Basic?
    Those are specified here.
    Thanks in advance for clarification.
    Karin

    One more question:
    If it technically complies is this valid for APEX Listener running in Standalone Mode as well?
    Thanks

    I logged into console and browsed to 'Home >Summary of JDBC Data Sources' but not able to locate DashboardDb. Please let me know where to find DashboardDB on wls console.
    Also, please let me know how to configure the app to not to auto-deploy JDBC data sources

    Thanks for the reply Eric.
    Initially I didn't start db server before starting Admin server.But now as per your reply, I started db and then started the server.It got started.So does that mean I should start the Oracle Database first and then start server?
    The exception are still there in log.

  • Standalone WLS server instance deployment failure - missing ADFLogger

    I was hoping somebody could help me please with issues of installing ADF JDev 11g apps to separate WLS server instances (ie. not Admin Server) and the ADFLogger class.
    I've successfully configured a separate standalone WLS, installed the ADF Runtime Libraries and deployed/run an ADF JDev 11g app to the server under the default AdminServer.
    We encountered one issue with deployment regarding the ADFApplicationLifecycleListener class which is addessed in the following forum post with the documented workaround of removing ADFApplicationLifecycleListener from the weblogic-application.xml file: Standalone WLS deployment failure - incorrect weblogic-application.xml
    Next we want to deploy to a separate server instance/machine on the standalone WLS (we have the eventual requirement of deploying our apps to a WLS cluster, so we're experimenting with configuring separate WLS server instances+machines).
    I've created via the Admin Server a new separate server instance (say ADFServer) on a separate WLS machine (say ADFMachine) within my standalone WLS. I've configured the separate WLS server instance to run on a different port from the default Admin Server port. In addition for the 3 deployed libraries jsf, jstl and oracle.adf.domain, via selecting them in the Admin Console under Deployments, then the Target tab, I've also "targetted" (read: deployed) these 3 libraries to the new server instance so they reside both on the Admin Server and ADFServer.
    However when I redeploy my original application via JDeveloper's Application Menu -> Deploy option, on deployment to the ADFServer directly I receive the exception at the bottom of this post. The relevant error message:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/adf/share/logging/ADFLogger
    This class is included in numerous ADF Runtime Libraries, and I would expect that once I targetted the oracle.adf.domain library for both Admin Server and ADFServer, the relevant ADFLogger class should be available (and given the fact I've run the application successfully on the standalone WLS under the Admin Server, it proves the library is available).
    The missing ADFLogger library seems to be a reoccuring theme for application server deployments, in particular OC4J. This is the first time I've seen it broached for WLS when using the ADF Runtime Libraries and haven't found much assistance via the OTN forums, Google searches etc.
    Does anybody know what I've configured incorrectly on my standalone WLS such that the ADFLogger is not configured for the separate WLS server instance? (I suspect I'll have to try the WLS forum too, but lets start here).
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,
    CM.

    I do start it by commandline since I only have the AdminServer, and no other nodes. Below is my startWeblogic.sh and setDomainEnv.sh scripts under medrec/bin directory. I don't see any modifications to them for ADF. Also, after extending the domain, the oracle.adf.domain library shows up in my deployments page and is pointing to "/ u01/ app/ oracle/ product/ wls/ jdeveloper/ modules/ oracle. adf. model_11. 1. 1/ adf. oracle. domain. ear". It seems like the extending step is missing a step to give access to all the libraries?

  • ADFBindingFilter error while deploying a war to WLS server using jdev 12c

    I've a OSB Server setup using XBUS_MAIN_GENERIC_120131.1402.S which is using JDEVADF_MAIN_GENERIC_120102.0032.6211.
    Launched the 12c Jdev and created a simple adfc web application with a test.jspx page and deployed in the OSB Server. The web app deployed and could launch the test page.
    I have added the page definition for that test page by 'Go to Page Definition' option.
    Now, If I try to deploy this web app war to the OSB Server, I'm getting the following exception in the jdev (Error1) and in the server log I could see the error (Error2).
    Any Idea how to resolve this issue?

    I guess you should be asking on an internal forum somewhere, because we, the unwashed masses, don't have access to JDev 12c.

  • Error when applet is trying to connect to WLS server

    Hello everyone,
    I'm currently having problems with applets and WebLogic. Though I know, applets are not the most appreciated way to do things with weblogic (or even in general), there are no real alternatives for us.
    We have a larger application consisting of several servlets, already integrated into WLS and using the data sources.
    Now we want to create a small piece of applet that uses WLS to get data from the same JDBC data sources to display and navigate inside charts. These might even be updated on a regular basis while the applet is running.
    So, there are two questions:
    First, is it possible for the applet to be available on the server and connect to WLS by creating an initial context? I'm currently trying and i get an "java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission setContextClassLoader)". See the attached code below to see the connection example.
    Second, if i can connect to the WLS, will this also be possible when the WLS is not localhost anymore, but another server? To clarify, an example:
    Can an applet that is running inside a WLS at "http://theotherserver.net:7001/myapp/MyApplet.class" connect to the WLS at "theotherserver.net"?
    I'd be glad if anyone could help me with that. The code I'm currently using (inside the init() function of the applet), is the following:
    public void init() {
         Context ctx = null;
         Hashtable<String, String> ht = new Hashtable<String, String>();
         ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
         ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
         try {
              ctx = new InitialContext(ht);
         // Use the context in your program
              System.out.println("context success");
         } catch (NamingException e) {
         System.out.println("NamingException"); // a failure occurred
         e.printStackTrace();
         } catch (AccessControlException e) {
              System.out.println("security control exception when authing"); // a failure occurred
              e.printStackTrace();
         } catch (Exception e) {
              System.out.println("other exception"); // a failure occurred
              e.printStackTrace();
         } finally {
              System.out.println("finally");
              try {
                   ctx.close();
                   System.out.println("close");
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   System.out.println("close exception"); // a failure occurred
    When the applet is run, whatever I do in start() etc get's done (for example drawing charts with jfreechart), but the java console prints the following as a result of the failed connection to WLS:
    security control exception when authing

    I have solved the above problem now. The problem was, that I only signed my own jar, but not the wlclient.jar, which also needs the rights to instantiate classes.
    This also solved my second question. Yet, there is another thing, now that I am trying to use JNDI to access a JDBC shared datasource from weblogic.
    The data source is accessible and working (tested from servlets). Now I'm trying to create a connection with the following code, but it does not get past the first lookup:
    try {
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) this.appletContext.lookup("ReportCentral");
    conn = ds.getConnection();
    conn.setAutoCommit(true);
    The thrown exception:

    I cannot find the mentioned class, to include it in my jar, neither am I sure that this is the best way to get a connection to the database this way.
    In the applet, it is NOT possible to create the connection by hand, as the user/password are only available to weblogic, but not the overlying J2EE applications.
    If i do that on my local system, nevertheless, it works:
    OracleDataSource ds = new OracleDataSource();
    ds.setURL("jdbc:oracle:thin:...@localhost:1521:XE");
    conn = ds.getConnection();
    This creates a valid connection.
    So, the major question is: How can I access the connection pool of Weblogic through an applet?

  • WLS server upgrading problems from 8.1 to 9.2

    We had our application running on WLS 8.1.
    Trying to upgrade to 9.2 using teh upgrade.sh script ( which uses 'java weblogic.Upgrade' inside ).
    Even after it has reported that it has successfully upgraded the domain, when I login using the admin console, I see that the managed servrs are missing. So are all the resources ( JMS, connectionpool etc ) and all our EJBs.
    Essentially we end up with a new admin server with nothing in it.
    Has somebody else experienced this problem ?
    If yes, are there any work arounds.
    --sony

    I'll make this simple for you, from one point of view. You've ported your application from one major release to another major release of the application server. Are you actually considering NOT testing some aspect of your application after that major a change? You should retest every aspect of your application.

  • WLS server startup problem

    Hi All
    I am getting the following exception at server startup. I have ensured that
    the environment is ok..
    The exception comes right at the startup and no logs are coming up.
    Can anyone tell me what might be the reason ?
    Thanks in advance
    Mandar

    Hi Mandar,
    This looks very much like a case I worked last week. A problem report
    had ~10 caseslinked to it. A patch is available for WLS 7.0 SP1; it's automatically
    in SP2. So,please tell me more about your environments and then I can tell if
    it's
    applicable.
    Thanks,
    KSK

  • WLS Server shows as down, but is up in WLS console

    I have a WLS Domain discovered in OEM (12c). I used the same agent configuration and setup on all 3 servers in the cluster. Server 1 and 2 show as up, as well as the cluster and overall domain. Server 3 shows as down with numerous incidents flagged with Agent down and Weblogic Server Is Down. In WLS Console, all three servers are Running and working properly.
    What sort of emctl commands can be utilized to verify that the agent on Server 3 is communicating properly with the WLS? Or steps within OEM, perhaps to verfiy the communication. I have checked config files and setup procedures, and Server 3 is identical to Server 1 and 2, aside from the 1/2 vs 3 and corresponding hostnames. Looking for any sort of input...

    That is why I am confused. The agent is actually up. It is secured and sending metrics for the box perfectly. I can perform ./emctl upload agent successfully. When I navigate to Host Targets, the box shows as up. But when I navigate to Middleware Targets, on the WLS domain, Server 3, which is on that box, shows as down. The agent unreachable is cleared on that page, but it shows the WebLogic Server as down.
    When I access the WLS console, the server is up, running and working fine. That is why I am lost when it comes to my next step. If agent is working fine and the setup is identical to server 1 and 2. Why is it down, when the rest are up? I noticed in the Server3.log file, I am getting spammed with a Certificate error. "CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN alert was recieved from *Server 3*. The peer has an unspecified issue with the certificate." I am getting the cert warning from server 3 on server 3. So is there a problem with some certificate and that is why the agent on server 3 can not communicate with the WLS?

  • Re: WLS Server 6.1 fails to start

    Hi.
    I need more info on this. What version of WLS (including service pack) are you running, what OS/JDK are you on?
    Does the server start initializing? Is this a fresh install or have you already deployed your application?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    I got this same error...
    THe version of WL is 6.1sp6,

    THe server starts, but it gives that error several times in the log. Can this be due to data in the database I'm accessing not being there?

    Which version we are talking about? JDev and WebLogic server!
    What do you mean by 'but on second start...' Have you shut it down before you tried to start it again? Or do you try to start the server a second time while it's still running?
    Which operating system do you use for hte stand alone server?

  • WLS server JVM disappears mysteriously after using management console

    Has anyone had a problem with the server process JVM mysteriously disappearing after
    using the management console? I am able to login to mydomain, configure a JDBC connection
    pool, and then a Tx Data Source. But when I set the chosen target for my Tx Data
    source to mydomain and hit apply, the server dies.
    This has happened with both WLS 7.0 and the new WLP 7.0 installations. I'm running
    WinXP Pro, WLP 7.0, and SQL Server 7.0. I suspect it's a config related issue.
    thanks,
    Ron

    Ok, I understand that it's not support. When is support for Win XP slated to be available
    then?
