    dear all,
    to download a *.txt-file via jsp i use following code:
    java.io.File file = new java.io.File("C:\\FileName.txt");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=\""+file.getName()+"\";");
    response.setContentType("APPLICATION/OCTET-STREAM");
    response.setContentLength((int) file.length());
    if(file.isFile()){

  • Get Gateway name / url via JSP

    Anyone say what is the method to get the Gateway name / url via JSP?
    Thanks
    Fausto

    Alex, in the normal case you have reason the client host is the gateway host.
    A simple code:
    <%
    InetAddress inet = InetAddress.getByName( request.getRemoteHost() );
    String gateway = inet.getHostName();
    String portal="http://" + gateway + "/portal/dt";
    gateway="https://" + gateway + "/";
    String url=request.getParameter("url");
    if ( url != null) {
    response.sendRedirect(gateway + url);;
    }else{
    responde.sendRedirect(gateway + portal);
    %>
    I put a jsp in the web container, I contact the jsp trough an url
    http://www.mydomain/portal/desktop/redirect.jsp without the method get for the url variable, if I call the jsp directly without gateway from my client the gateway variable is my dns hostname and the jsp cannot redirect my in the portal login page
    If I take the localhost, it works fine but if a particular case when the gateway and the platform are the same host.
    There is not a HTTP enviroment variable to get the gateway name or a simple java method to ask the correct host?
    Thank you again

  • Wml in jsp

    I written my wml in jsp. However, when i use nokia simulator to test. It give me a error saying mime type not supported. I had written:
    <%
    response.setcontentType="text/vnd.wap.wml";
    %>
    Do anyone know why???
    Please help me. I need to rush my project.
    Thanx you.

    I wrote my wml pages a while ago, but I remember that I set the mime type with page directive and it needed to be before <?xml...>-tag.
    Like this:
    <%@ page contentType = "text/vnd.wap.wml" %><?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN" "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml">

  • How to send attachment(file) in javamail via JSP ?

    Dear Friends,
    Please guide me for :
    (1) my e-mail client is using JSP. So, hoW to send file-attachments via jsp ?
    Please specify example for attaching file(s) to a message object in JSP ( and only in JSP ).
    I have used HTML <input type="file" .... > control , but don't know how to bring that file to the jsp file and then attach it to the message object.
    Thank u.

    I wouldn't recommend using JSP to do that. I would use a servlet instead. Then you are just writing Java code, and to answer your two questions you need to learn about JavaMail (1) and get some already-written classes to do file uploads such as this one: http://www.servlets.com/cos/index.html (2).

    Hi,
    I try to save an attachment via jsp, but the attachment has wrong size(2 bytes more). Here is my code:
         Part part = multipart.getBodyPart(partIndex);
        ContentType ct = new ContentType(part.getContentType());

         out.flush();
         out.close();is it something wrong with the header?
    any idea?
    thx.

    You are right.
    If I use input stream from a file I have the same problem:
    <%@ page import="java.io.*" %>
    <%

         out.flush();
         out.close();
         is.close();
    catch(Exception e) { }

  • JSF app - open report in new Window - via JSP?

    I have been reading through this forum but no one has done quite what I am trying so I thought I'd post my own version of this problem.
    The web app I'm working on is basically a report generator. Data is formatted via XSLT to .html files - that part works great. The problem is getting the app to open this new HTML file in a new window. I want to get this working with little or no JavaScript.
    startReport.jsp (a JSF file) is the form that validates the user input. The sole h:commandButton (I do NOT want a link) works fine sending the form and JSF returns its errors or mine (if the criteria results in nothing) as it should; the action method returns "failure" so the page stays the same.
    But when the action method returns "success" the JSF navigation-rule is setup to route to showReportFile.jsp (which is NOT a JSF file). This JSP is very simple:
    <%@ page import="java.io.File" %>
    <%@ page import="java.io.PrintWriter" %>
    <%@ page import="java.io.FileReader" %>
    <%@ page import="com.logipath.gict.cts.reporting.client.ReportClient" %>
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="reportClient" scope="session" class="com.logipath.gict.cts.reporting.client.ReportClient" />
    <%
    String fileName = reportClient.getReportOutputFile();
    PrintWriter writer = response.getWriter();
    char[] buffer = new char[1024];
    FileReader reader = new FileReader(fileName);
    int numRead = reader.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length);
    while ( numRead != -1 ) {
         writer.write(buffer, 0, numRead);
         numRead = reader.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length);
    reader.close();
    writer.close();
    File file = new File(fileName);
    file.delete();
    %>This works believe it or not. If I put the target="_blank" on the form tag in the startReport.jsp it even opens in a new window. Great. But with that attribute on the form element, if the page comes back in error - it shows up in a new window (as it is apt to do given the attiribute).
    Ok, the h:commandButton tag's target attribute is ignored. Fine. There has to be a way to do this but I just cannot figure it out and I'm no JSP expert.
    What I think will work is this. Since my report beans create HTML files, I've created a session bean called "currentReportBean" which holds a single attribute - the name of the HTML file to display. (This is how the JSP above works.)
    What I need to know now *(this is the question part)* is how can I flush the render response of my JSF life cycle, trigger the opening of this JSP in a new window, the restart the JSF life cycle at the begining so the "parent" page repaints normally? The JSP isn't part of the JSF page flow so I there's no "going back" or "refresh" to worry about. I would like to take the showReportFile.jsp file out of the navigation files altogether.
    I know this topic has been worked on at length, but not quite this way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    arnieAustin wrote:
    No, the JSP resets the bean value after showing the file.My mistake; it wasn't the reload scenario that is an issue. It is when the user goes back and forth in history that this can be a problem.
    >
    But now I'm confused. JS cannot access server-based session values. How is it going to know to open the page? A cookie?Write the value to a JS variable when you render the page.

  • Custom Responsibility - Restrictions Imposed via JSP page

    Hi,
    We have a custom responsibility, that gives administrative access to Workflow Notifications of the type 'Requisitions' to the user who is assigned the role.The following are the details for the custom responsibility.
    Responsibility: PO Requisitions Workflow Admin
    Menu: PO Requisition WF Admin Top Menu
    Function: Find Admin Notification for iProcure
    Function Type: SSWA jsp function
    HTML Call: OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/webui/NotifSearchPG
    The EBS version is R12.1.1
    But the problem is the, it displays all types of notifications along with Requisition Notifications. Any pointers as to how i can restrict notifications other than the Internal Type REQAPPRV, prevented from being displayed ?
    I'm new to OAF so i've no clue as to where to begin with. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I'll make my requirement clear first so that you may know what i'm trying to convey via my question posted earlier.
    The responsibility was created so that any person assigned that responsibility may have access to all workflow notifications that of are of the Type "Purchasing Requisitions". But when i query in the Self Service Page, workflow notifications of type other than requisitions are also being displayed ,e.g Journal Post Approval Notifications, Purchasing Invoice Approvals etc.
    So i would like to filter the result set being displayed to only Purchasing Requisitions. Kindly, provide me steps i would need to follow to achieve the same.

  • Execute Linux Command via JSP

    How can I execute Linux commands through a JSP page on a Red Hat Linux 6.1 Machine using Tomcat 3.0
    Please Mail your answer
    [email protected]

    Hi Nick,
    Thankx a lot, for suggestion,
    I wanted to make a page which gives me a text box to write a command and below it shows the result of that command,
    Say , I m in directory "/home/dhiraj"
    and I write in command text box : "pwd"
    it should give me the currrent path in result , which I can show in form of HTML as Results ,
    (may be in a String form..)
    same way if I write in command box : "ls -l"
    it should Return me (say a String) the directory listing of the current path in result,
    I have already tried the Runtime & Process class ,
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process p =null;
    p = rt.exec("command here");
    p.waitFor();
    it has following problems:
    1) This way I m not able to get the result ..
    2) I tried to make a zip file via my program it did not threw any exception , but could not execute...
    I was confused is it 'coz of permission ( rights problem) or some programmatical error as the same program runs via a Java Class file ..
    desperately waiting for ur suggestions

  • Need help understanding the local caching of jnlp when creating it via jsp

    I'm trying to deploy an app via Web Start. I have occasions when I need to pass arguments, so I'm using JSP to create the JNLP and optionally write arguments.
    I need some help in figuring out how to cover my different use cases with as few different jnlps as possible and am confused about the local cacheing logic.
    Use 1
    Initial install: I pass an init=yes url param which writes a preferences file <argument> to be passed to my app. I don't want this argument cached in my jnlp, as this will overwrite the user's preferences on subsequent launches.
    Use 2
    Subsequent offline launches: no url params passed.
    Use 3
    Launch via html link (in a CMS): passes a file=<filename> url param which creates a file <argument> for my app to open. Again, I don't want this argument cached, otherwise launching from, say, the desktop shortcut will reopen this file.
    Can anyone explain how best to cover these three use cases?
    TIA!

    Did you solve this cache problem? I have a similar issue where I don't want it to use the arguments over again...

  • How WML and JSP can be configured in Tomcat 4.0 just as HTML and JSP

    hello all of my friends!
    Currently i am working on wap development but i cant find any thing to run my application, i am using Tomcat 4.0 can u plx help me and tell me how can i run Wml in tomcat( what configurations are required?) the application will work just as html-------JSP-Webserver.......ThankYou.

    You can work just like you did with html, but replace your content with wml-tags. I usually check for the accept-header in the http-reqest, to separate wap-users from web-useres:
    if(request.getHeader("accept").indexOf("text/vnd.wap.wml")>=0){
       response.setContentType("text/vnd.wap.wml");
    <xml version=1.0 DOCTYPE .........>
    <wml>
       <card ..>
    </wml>Also, your webserver must support this mimetype. Tomcat 4 has that, but to be sure, check in server.xml, it holds a long list of mime-associations.
    good luck
