WMV player in Java

Hi,
I want to creat a WMV player using streaming which can be used across multiple platforms/browsers (Applet/JWS).
My question is JMF do not support WMV. How to implement a WMV based player in Java which can be used in browsers.

I have the same requirement , WMV video player and other type of video player in Java Applet . I had look to different web site but I couldn`t some good suggestion for that , Any body if can suggest and share his self experience will help me and other people like me who looking for WMV player .

The videos can not be saved, they are automatically opening in Quicktime. I open them from a webpage. Somehow I need to get quicktime 7 to be the default program. Any suggestions?

hi ppl..i ve recently installed solaris 10 x86...and i think that if u can t see porn videos on computer then its wastage of resources...most of the vids on net available r of wmv format...so my q is that where can i get wmv player for solaris 10 x86.

WMV = WINDOWS media video
You won't find any player for another OS than Windows that will play all of these files correctly especially if they are copy protected or have any similar feature.
(This is very bad because I cannot play my copy-protected WMA music files :-( )
However the "MPlayer" program from www.mplayerhq.hu allows playback of many video formats (WMV is claimed to be supported, too) - I did not test this.
The player supports different OSs (Solaris, too) but binaries only come for Windows, Linux and MacOS. You'll have to re-compile the program from the sources.
and i think that if u can t see porn videos on computer then its wastage of resourcesA cheap video recorder costs about Eur 30 and a computer at least Eur 300. Buy a video recorder instead of a computer!

Button in Swf triggest stream video in embedded WMV player

Hey guys I have a SWF video menu basicially I have 12 buttons
and I need each button when clicked to play a file in the embeded
WMV player in dreamweaver.
Ive tried a ton of things but cant figure it out.

It's glad to hear that your are using configurator. I'm not very sure I understand your problem. But I think you may be interested with this.
I'd created a patch for Configurator 2.0, which added a slider bar for VideoPlayer, then you can drag the slider to jump in the video. See the screen shot.
The patch file is attached in this post as a picture file.
If you want apply it, please download it, and rename to "PS12Template.swf".
And go to your configurator 2.0 panel folder. It should be "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Panels\<Your Panel Name>\content\".
And use "PS12Template.swf" to replace your "<Your Panel Name>".swf.
Then restart photoshop.

Building MP3 player in Java

How to build a MP3 player in java using Applet or other interfaces. Is it necessary to include extra classes apart from those in JDK 1.2? Please help me in constructing a MP3 player in Java.

An alternative to MP3 could be OggVorbis format.
We've just made an Ogg Vorbis SPI (Service Provider Interface) for Java based on JOrbis library.
What is SPI ? It's the way JAVA (through JavaSound API plays sound, regardless to the format.
In others words we've made a "Vorbis Driver" that could be plugged to ANY Java music player.

Neither Flash Player nor Java working on Windows 8.1 with IE 11

I have a new sony laptop with Windows 8 and IE 11. I have upgraded to Windows 8.1. Neither Flash Player nor Java are working despite having made all the recommended settings. Adobe recommends upgrading to Flash Player 12.00.38, but I can seem to get it installed.
Whats wrong and how do I fix it?

Flash Player for IE in Windows 8 and 8.1 is embedded by Microsoft and you cannot update it here. It MUST be updated via Windows Update.
The fatc that Java isn't working as well leads me to believe you have other problems, but IE11 (comes with Windows 8.1) has been a "rolling train wreck" since the day it was released. Websites and pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I guess thats self explanatory? I just use VLC I've never been able to get it to work it seems to be bloatware more than anything of use.

This error occurs on every installation attempt. It is the only coldfusion version on the computer. Win 8.1 64bit.

Anyone know when Flip4mac will have a UB version of their WMV player?

Or is their another UB WMV player out there that is worth getting.

Last time I checked their support area, they are saying, "we're working on it", but haven't published a firm release date.

It's not the "player" itself.
The N96 and N78 have the WMV DECODER.
So what you really need is not the Player but the DECODER. But this is also not available and I don't think it will be made available.

Flash 7 player in Java

Hi all,
I have developed a Flash 7 compatible virtual machine in java 1.1. This will allow java developers to use Macromedia Flex, or Flash MX to make great looking front ends, graphical animations etc directly within their java application.
The core technology is all there, but I obviously want to release it in its most useful form to java developers. I would be interested to know what people might want from such a system, i.e. how do people think it should interface with a normal java application. Here are a couple of the questions that I am considering, but I am interested to hear people's thoughts on all aspects of this idea.
Currently java classes can be accessed from actionscript by their implementing a simple "ASObject" interface, which allows access to public methods of the class. Is this the most useful way of connecting native, backend java classes with the Flash VM?
Should the UI run directly as a java application, or should it be invoked by the application on demand. If the latter, how should it present itself?
The flash player currently runs as an applet, and examples may be seen on http://www.holomatix.com
Most of the demos on there are rather 3D - centric, as Blaze 3D studio is aimed at merging high quality realtime 3d and flash. The IBM anyplace kiosk in the showcase has a decent amount of flash in it though, and of course the player can play any swf up to flash 7.
I greatly appreciate your comments and advice on this, and look forward to (hopefully) doing things the right way! :-)
