[Workaround] Can't set GTK Icons - Openbox - Help

I'm stuck! I have been trying to set the gtk icons and have no luck.

Hrmmm, that's not really a fix, more like a workaround. openbox-session is the proper way to start a pure openbox environment and it should not interfere with your icons either way.
fwojciec is probably right... if you don't have ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh then Openbox is running the default startup script: /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart.sh
You can easily fix this by creating a blank file (~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh), or better yet, move your startup apps from .xinitrc to your personal autostart.sh. That's the way OB is intended to be used.

It seems that you want to add an icon for your application to be used as a shortcut or an icon located in quick start explorer.
You could add that icon with the following way.

In addition, we should pay attention to the icon format for different systems and different DPI modes.

Details / List / Small symbols: 16
All other options: 256 (resized, if necessary)
Right-click->Properties / choosing a new icon: 32
Pinned to taskbar: 32
Right-click-menu: 16
Desktop:
Small symbols: 32
Medium symbols: 48
Large symbols: 256 (resized, if necessary)
Zooming using Ctrl+Mouse wheel: 16, 32, 48, 256

I can't set up Time Machine---Help! What "User Name" and password do I use

I finally got the Time Capsule and installed Leopard, but now that I'm trying to set up Time Machine, it's asking for a user name and password. I've entered the admin user name and password to my computer with no luck, then tried the name of the Time Capsule and the password for that, no luck there either. What the heck is it looking for? I mentioned it only because I once used that software and only because I checked it before upgrading to Leopard did I realize it didn't work too well, even with Tiger.
LaCie makes great hardware, but in the software area they are a bit soft.

Can you set permissions to a help system?

Hi -- i am creating a helpsystem and was wondering if with RoboHelp 8, i can limit who sees which book/Topic?
We need this because certain customers who will view this help system will not be able to see the certain parts of the application. They have certain rights for each application.
My fear is that i will have to create separate helpsystem projects for each of the different pieces...

Hi Allison. This can't be handled from within RoboHelp but you have the following options.
Firstly, the application installation could check the user's licence and only install the relevant help files. If you are outputting CHM files, this is fairly straitforward as you just have a CHM for each licenced area and the application installs the relevant ones.
Secondly, use WebHelp output to a website or internal server. You could then apply security to the output files as required.
Lastly you could output WebHelp Pro output to a server using the Robohelp Server 8 application. This has the concept of protected areas that only users with the correct logonb and password can access.

What is the setting for the icon size in the customize window?
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
If you need to increase or decrease the size of fonts and other elements in the user interface and web pages then you can do this:
Increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 steps to see what works best.
In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.

[SOLVED] Setting Qt icon theme without KDE.

Where can I set the icon theme for QT[5] without using KDE? Is there some manual [deskop agnostic] way. E.g. Trolltech.conf, but ,if yes, what is the key?
The wiki states that "There is no way of setting the icon theme from QtConfig, but since Qt follows the Freedesktop.org Icon Specification, any theme set for X is picked up by Qt."
But how can I set the theme set for X?

How to set the icon for the entire application with JFrame.setIconImage

I set the icon on the main frame using JFrame.setIconImage(). The icon is shown properly in the main frame.
If more JFrames are opened from the main frame, the newly opened JFrames also show the icon.
However if JDialogs are opended, in some cases the icon set on the main frame is shown and in other cases the coffee cup.
What is JFrame.setIconImage() expected to do? Setting the icon for a single JFrame or the entire application?
How can I set the icon for the entire application?
How can I set the icon for JDialogs?

In order for your dialogs to use the same icon as the frame, you must parent the dialogs to the frame which has the custom icon.

Openbox - Can't Set Background

I installed Gnome a while ago, everything worked well. Then I decided to get into Openbox and the minimalistic setup.
I tried to set my wallpaper image through autostart.sh
autostart.sh:

But it won't set my wallpaper. It will set the correct wallpaper upon startup, but then after a second or two, the wallpaper changes to some random Gnome wallpaper (the green leaf one).
Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

If you really want to continue using gnome-settings-daemon, open gconf-editor and set the following to no/false/uncheck :
/desktop/gnome/background/draw_background
/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/background/active
You can also disable these :
/apps/nautilus/preferences/background_set
/apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop

You can try copying this, and editing the values. You don't need no lxappearance
If you do it this way, then don't start gnome-settings-daemon. I'd recommend this.
Oh, and you only need to write that feh command once in your autostart

Openbox and gtk icons

I am having trouble getting openbox to use my gtk icon theme. I have set my .gtkrc-2.0 file, and gtk apps like the gimp use the correct icons. But openbox itself does not use the correct icons in the window titles. Is there some other configuration file I need to change to make openbox use my icon theme?

LxAppearance just changes the gtkrc-2.0 file. It does not change the icon set that the window manager uses.
Based on extensive google searches, I think I have a theoretical answer to my problem, though. The problem seems to stem from how programs set their _NET_WM_ICON property. My theory is that some programs look to the gtkrc file to set this icon, and other programs do not.
...If anyone out there does lots of gui programming and could confirm this theory, that would be great

Sorry, but you probably can't. You cannot sync from an Apple TV to a PC except for items purchased from the iTunes Store on the Apple TV. You'll need to restore from the backups you made of your iTunes library, which I presume you made?

It's not completely obvious. What you have to do in Spaces is to position your cursor to the upper right of the screen, after which faint + (plus) sign appears in that area. Click that, upon which another Desktop will appear.
The + may be difficult or impossible to see with some desktop backgrounds (black, for instance):

Set the calendar to "Gregorian". You have it set to Buddhist.
