Workflow Binding Problem

Hi All,
     I have to customize standard Leave Application workflow WS12300111. for that i have copied this workflow into new Z-workflow. Actually i have to fetch some data from custom infotype before sending this leave to approver.
    Now this WS12300111 is based on Class(CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS) not on BO and to fetch custom Infotype data I have created custom BO and written method inside this BO.
The problem i am facing is i need to export a parameter from workflow container to my BO's method container and data type of that element is of Table Type (PTREQ_ITEMS_WF_TAB_FLAT) and in method it is not allowing me to create elements with reference to this Table type (there is no Option to create element using ABAP Dictionary type As it is in Workflow container). If i define my method element using Line type if this PTREQ_ITEMS_WF_TAB_FLAT then it allows me to create that element (B'coz line types are basically structures) But it gives me Datatype mismatch error in Binding from Task to Method...
   So is there any way to achieve this?? or should I create a Z-Class as subtype of standard Class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS and then write a new Method in this subtype Z-class to read custom infotype. Is this the way to achieve the delegation functionality of BO in Class.

What your are trying to achieve with custom infotype. As far as i concern you can use employeet business object to get all the details. customize this busniess object and write your logic here or you can customize the class which you have mentioned. There is nothing like delegation for class. But i dont know in which method u will write the code. Since the leave request going to apply from portal dont do any customization of this class. Try to use the business object EMPLOYEET. I have done leave request workflows i never done any thing in this class.

On Analysis I could find that the data are not passed from method to task container but method is working fine separately. Even I tried executing t-code 'SWU_OBUF' , but still not working.

Check for linkages. Is the binding activated betwwen workflow to task container.
Check whether values appear in task container or not.
Then check for binding between task & method container. Is there any event linked with the task. Is the event linkage is activated.
The problem might be resolved if all the linkages are correct.

Container to Container binding in Workflow binding editor

Hi all,
I have an issue using Container --> Container binding in the Workflow binding editor (transaction SWF_BAM). What I want to do is to be able to extend the data provided by the event (i.e call a BAPI using values supplied) before assigning it to the target structure.
This is what I have done:
- Created an entry in Event Linkage: Application Object to Message Proxy, where the object type is BUS2005 (event RELEASED)
and proxy is a generated proxy.
- In the binding editor, I clicked in the Binding Instruction selection and chose Container --> Container as Binding Instruction.
Now I have created my own class that implements the interface IF_SWF_IFS_BIND_TRANSFORM_CONT, so this class shows up in the drop down list under a section called Enhancement.
- The class I created and implemented the interface, now contains three methods, where Transform is one. I have put a break point in this method and when I trigger the event (transaction SWUE) the debugger stops. So, the call to the method works fine.
My problem is, that I cannot access the values provided by the event (these are supplied in parameter SOURCE_CONTAINER).
Is there anyone who have used this technique and could supply some example code? Is there another technique that I can use to obtain the same result?

My scenario is as follows. I want to react on the event CHANGED, of business object BUS2032 (SalesOrder). The information (field values) supplied by the container under EVTOBJECT (in the binding editor) does not fully correspond to what I need to populate in the receiver interface. I would like to send out i.e SalesOrderNumber and PricingProcedure to the receiver interface.
Now, SalesOrderNumber is supplied by the container (_EVT_OBJECT-SalesDocument, as seen in the binding editor), but hte PricingProcedure would have to be looked up in table VBAK using SalesOrderNumber as a key.
Issue 1: How do I get hold of the value of field SalesDocument in my class? (as I mentioned earlier I have created a class which references interface IF_SWF_IFS_BIND_TRANSFORM_CONT, so I have the transform method and I can put code there. I have put a break point, so I know processing stops there).
I tried to following:

        EXPORTING
          name = 'SALESDOCUMENT'

No, success (cx_swf_cnt_elem_not_found). Makes me think that SalesDocument is not a parameter of the event but something else.
Issue 2: Once I have solved issue 1 and also lookup up the PricingProcedure. How do I go about setting my values in the receiver interface. I know I also have a reference to TARGET_CONTAINER in the TRANSFORM method, but where to go from there?
Any clues would be grately appreciated. Being successful with this scenario, would open for many interesting possibilities.

Binding Problem in workflow

Hi,
I have created my own workflow for SO change. The kind of requirement i am handling is that whenever there is a change
in SO a mail should get triggered to workflow inititor along with changed SO number.
Now i stucked up at one place. See i have executed VA02 tcode and captured corresponding business object
After that i have created workflow with 2 step types one is user decision and another is send mail and at the start of workflow
i have attached corresponding business object event to workflow Now the problem is i am not able to pass data from VA02 tcode to correspodng created container
Please guide me and at the same time i would like to send that mail to my gmail id for which i have already done
configuration in SCOT and SWU3.

Hi,
I think you haven't done the binding between event_object & BO that acts as workflow container.
I mean, in your workflow, see if a workflow container of type BUS2032 exists with Import/export parameter set.
If no create one and do the necessary binding between event container Event_object & your workflow container (say BUS2032).

Workflow binding not working - authorization problem?

Hi Experts,
I have the following problem in 4.6C that happens only for a specific user, so maybe an authorization problem.
There is a task in the workflow that calls a method with ME21N. The method takes the PO after the transaction call, creates a BUS2012 object from it and passes it to the task. The task then passes it back to the workflow. The next step of the workflow uses this PO object.
For this specific user, the ME21N method executes fine, PO is created. The task container in the wf log shows the object in it. But the workflow container does not have it, so it was not passed from the task to the workflow. Hence, the next task that uses the object does not start but the workflow system raises an error:
OL 808: Object with runtime number '0' not defined
WFEA 031: Step 0000000058 of WS********: Binding from workflow to work item aborted
This happens only for one specific user, everyone else can execute the tasks without a problem, the PO object is passed to the workflow.
Is there a specific authorization object required for the bindings of the workflow to work correctly?
Any help is appreciated.

You can check for authorization problems in SU53.
Did this suddenly start happening for this user, since when? I'd doublecheck that binding.

Workflow initiator problem

Hi friends,
In my workflow, I have created one activity for reason for rejection and I am using task(TS20000139) for sending short message with reason and in binding I am passing wofkflow initiator(&_WF_INITIATOR&) to receiver(&RECEIVER&). But the problem is workflow initiator is not pickingup exact user name. If the username is 'STEVE' it is picking 'USSTEVE', because of this it is showing an error that user does not exists. If I remove that 'US' my problem will get solved. Plz suggest me.

hi,
when u create an activity step, double click on the step.
in the "task" section, click on the dropdown, then click on create task option.
this will take you to the task creation screen.
ih the object method section, select object category as "BOR object type", object type as your BO name (eg: BUS2012), and method as the name of the method that you created in your BO.
you can create your custom method in a custom BO.
this can be done using transaction SWO1.
enter the BO name and change button.
click on the method and then click on the create button. then it will ask you to create with FM as template. click No.
give a name to the method and dont forget to uncheck the "dialog" property of the method.
save it.
click on the newly created method and click on parameters button. specify the input and output parameter.
again click on the newly created method and click on program. here you can perform the string operation.
once all this is done click on the method. goto Edit -> change release status -> object type component -> to implemented.
then click on the generate button. (red and white coloured button).

OWB embeded process flow - parameter binding problem

I've installed and Oracle 10g Database, after the database installation I added the Oracle Workflow server software. To complete the installation I ran the wfca.
Later I get to define a process flow in OWB (cheesy) and the process flow seems to be working well (I've done all the registrations necesary also ), but when I am trying to do the parameter binding is not working. I do get the window prompt for the parameter and I enter the date parameter ( I tried different formats like 'YYYY/MM/DD' 'dd-mon-yyyy'), but after I check the runtime in the web browser the parameter is not pass to next process. I tried many things for the last week but I cannot get it to pass the parameter from one process to another.
Any ideas,

Workflow- Sub Workflow Binding

I am trying to Bind the Workflow to The SubWorkflow Task.
But when i do the binding i donot see the Business Object and other containers of my subworkflow .In the Subworkflow i have created a task also how do i bind it to the task of the sub workflow

This seems that you have not linked it to the business object event or in the task you are not using the Business Object and its method.
Go to the header part of the Workflow and give the (its an example)
BO BUS2012 Releasestepcreated
and activate it as well as generate the binding.

Read only inputText binding problem

Hi all
I have a h:inputText like below

But when retrieve the value from backbean It's not changed. The problem is associated with read only attribute.
When it's not read only it works.
Can some one explain this?

Issue in workflow binding of Table in send mail step

I am working on a Travel Management workflow where mail needs to be sent to the manager along with the trip details.
We are displaying data in tables (html format). Now i need to add another such table with details into this already existing workflow but i am facing issues in binding.
Issue: For already existing tables, the binding is like this,
Export to task,
&TRIP& --> &T_SUMMARY##&
Import to w/f,
&T_SUMMARY##& <--- &T_SUMMARY##&.
But when i am trying to add my table in binding as, &TRIP& --> &T_MILEAGE##&,
I am getting a binding error, &T_MILEAGE##& is not available in the container.
I checked the container both in workflow and in task, both contain multiple declarations of the variable &TRIP& which is of type the BO.
Kindly help me how to proceed further.

I checked the correction given in this note. All changes exists into system.

This shows a 5.9 sec delay for the first sigaction, and a full response is received some long 20 secs later on the prompt.
Some feedback from engineering regarding this issue since the 9i release has been:
"This is a known problem with signal handlers and the lazy binding we have on Mac OS X. A small change to how Oracle library's signal
handler is installed using _signal_nobind(3) and
_dyld_lookup_and_bind_fully(3) could help to solve this problem.
The problem that we are trying to avoid is a possible dead lock from
code that could be called in a signal handler when the thread that
gets the signal is in the middle of lazy binding a symbol. So when a
signal handlers installed the default action is to cause it to be
bound fully. This is made very expensive by the mismatch of the
interfaces to signal(3) and segvec(2) like routines which are passed
an address and the dynamic linker that wants a global symbol name. So the end result is to call the routine _dyld_bind_fully_image_containing_address(3) with the address of the signal handler to be bound. Which binds everything in the image (in this case the Oracle shared library).

It's a delay, not a deadlock, that originatesfrom the way Oracle
libraries handle dymaic bindings.to "dynamic" bindings. Maybe prebinding could help ?

Workflow and problems with labels

I've been testing out some things in Edge and I've noticed a few things that I've been trying to find some documentation and information about, I would greatly appreciate any enlightenment on the following observations:
Frame labels do not work for me - both with files created from scratch in Edge and ones made of existing HTML + CSS files. I tried the in app lesson on looping the counter and the 'Play from (loop)' doesn't work, I thought it might have been because of an error in the instructions telling users to play from a frame label that exists at the same point in the timeline where there is a 'stop' trigger but even offsetting the 'loop' label would not work. The final sample file works as intended when previewed.
I tried a few tests with new files consisting of really basic stuff - one symbol with an 'on-click' > play from (go/start/in/one/etc) and another symbol simply animated on the x and y axis with an animation to the opacity with a stop trigger placed on the timeline and tested with the play from label placed both at the same time as the stop trigger and offset after the trigger - neither works it has no effect when clicked. (I know about what scripts to do on completion to get it to play from the start) Interestingly play from (milliseconds*) *0.125/1001/2000000 etc does work for me but this is not ideal as it is far more useful to be able to play from labels.
Animating existing HTML - I've got a simple html page set up consisting of a container div with a number of other divs inside which I have been animating in Edge. The Edge file is set up so the container CSS overflow is hidden. Now can someone please clarify if the following method of workflow is a mistake on my part, limitation in HTML+DOM, bugs in edge or combination/none of those things?
Workflow - bring in the html file to edge do simple animated opacity etc on the various elements start adding keyframes and labels etc - the label problems as above. Now my intent is to have each of the div's in the container be clicked on and bring in the next one - in the same place in the viewport. I've noticed that when changing various elements visibility after tweaking animation to look good and then subsiquently setting on-off keyframes for visibility it would suddenly cause all elements lower in the DOM to move position and suddenly have what looked like keyframes for y axis position/transform? Is this bad practice to use the on-off visibility for elements? It meant that what should be a really simple and quick 10 second animation took about 3 hours to make, should we be not using the on-off keyframes for showing/hiding buttons that are in divs that sit on top of each other? Should i set up z-index values for all elements in the CSS files? (I saw a reference to you can assign z-index values in the 'elements' panel but I can only see 'arrange' - is this a different term for z-index?)
I'm a long time user of flash, maya, after effects, digital fusion, combustion, and many other timeline based software tools - it is fairly intuitive to me picking up new systems but the issues with on-off visibility and keyframes below in the timeline really was a very frustrating workflow. I'm used to changing and editing the whole animation on the timeline seeing what works and doesn't - deleting layers, changing timings etc, i found this way of working really slow due to changes to elements position when ones above in the flow were turned on or off. Please do suggest what I should change in my approach to using edge as compared to other animation tools as it looked great on preview but I'm a bit frustrated in using the release. Is this a bug in my release?
Where is the help and reference files for Edge? - is this screen shot it? -
I can't find any info on basic definitions of the tools and options anywhere, and can't find much on anything to do with using edge in production with existing HTML documents, please send me some links if you have them. I've seen the edge javascript API thing but is there anything else?

Here is the approximate code of the page for reference - I actually got the file working in the end but using 'play from (miliseconds)' instead of play from (label) and much frustration slowly editing the timeline and elements visible/hidden status and redoing animation on elements below in the timeline to get them placed correctly.

Hi,
I wonder if it's related to the multilingual capability of BPM Object presentations.
Could you:
1. right mouse click the project in the Project Navigator tab.
2. click "Project Preferences"
3. click "Languages"
Do you see multiple languages? Is English (or whatever language you're using inside Studio) the default?
When you log into the WorkSpace, could you double check the language you are using (log in -> click "Settings" in the upper right corner) -> with the "Display" tab selected, is the language you chose as the default in Studio selected?
I suspect the reason you see some but not all of the labels is because you have defined some of those labels in the language selected in the Workspace. You can add the addtional labels for the various languages you want to support if you:
1. Open a presentation
2. Click one of the labels
3. In the properties tab on the right, click the field beside the "Display" property
4. Click the button with the "..." on the right side of this field

Binding Problem in web dynpro ABAP

I have problem in table binding. I have created node and added attributes from ztable. The node is binded with the view table. Now my requirement is one field should be drop down in table and it should be binded with one attribute but that binded attribute is indifferent table. Is it possible? .. I have tried this but dump occured. Please guide me to get this.

Workflow Notification problem

Hello,
I have a problem with WorkFlow Notification.
When a send a workflow test notification. I reveive the mail, in my inbox. I use Webaccess. The notification server works. But in the body of the mail, i don't have the Acknowledge button, I have only &MAILTO....
I have three tiers for OCS 10.1.2.3 and the OID is separate of the Store database. I have run the Worflow Assistant configuration on my middeltier, and I have change the password on OID for the user owf_mgr to be the seem that in the store database.
I have a single box installation and is work proprely...
Can I help me ?

The middle tier has been Migrate to a v2 installe (9i) to a 10.1.2.0 ... and the schema of OWF_MGR cannot be removed... it's the problem ?

into the notification, but when using plain text, most of the email clients suppress the line-breaks when the URL is fit in-between of < and >
