Workflow - data model creation

Hi
I have installed 10g r2 in a kubuntu system, and is ok. Also I have install OWF, but now I
have not idea about how install all tables, etc . owf engine need to work
Any hint please?
THANKS! :)

Please use Oracle Workflow Configuration Assistant to create a Workflow schema and have the workflow DB objects created in it. Workflow Configuration Assistant can be invoked from $ORACLE_HOME/wf/admin/install there you might find a batch/shell script to invoke the Config Assistant.

  • SAP BW SRM Workflow data model design

    Hi All,
I have a requirement from my client to design SAP BW SRM Work flow report, in output user is interested for document flow/chain starting from Shopping cart (SC) - Bid invitation (RFx) - Bid (RFx responses) - Purchase order (PO) - Confirmation. There are standard datasources and DSO's for the same but I want to check experts ideas on data model design. I am thinking to build infosets on top of DSO's but it will impact Query performance as data volume for sure will be more and will increase down the line. In addition I need to consider below exceptions or restrictions as well:
    1. Document may/may not start with SC for example one possibility is document start at SC and end at Confirmation or start at RFx and end at PO etc.
    2. User is expected to see below various possibilities of document chain in report output:
SC - RFx - RFx responses - PO - Confirmation or
SC - RFx - RFx responses or

  • Newly registered user doesn't have Data Model or Report Creation option

    Hi,
I have recently registered in http://bipdev2.us.oracle.com:7001/xmlpserver
Except Create Report Job option, i do not have Create Data Model and Create Report options visible in my Home page.
In My Account-> My Groups, in which i have BI Consumer Role assigned.
Do i need to have a BI Administrator Role (or) BI Author Role to have these options enabled in my Home page?.
or What is the procedure to request for access
Any help regarding the same is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Parvez

    Hi,
for the first part where you don't access I would suggest you do an authorization trace to ensure that the user has all the necessary authorizations.
and on the second part - yes the user needs to have credentials for the system that you trying to access

  • What is the best workflow with SVN and Developer Data Modeler.

I am workin on strategy to fullfill next tasks with Data Modeler:
    * Posibility to work on paralel branches for model
    * Merging changes from different branches
    * Generating upgrade scripts for changes (from one commit till other)
    * Maintaining posiblity to fast build empty database for any version of model
    What are your ideas?
Do you use some database for thease operations or you do it only using Modeler?
Does SVN merge works fine with Modeler?
How you work with versioned Modeler and many versions of different development DBs.

    Hello,
We work with SVN and DM too, but do not use branches for DM to prevent merges.
If multiple developers work on the same design, each developer checks out the design. A lock can be used to prevent the update of the same object by multiple developers (if you want).
If you commit changes in SVN, the other developers get informed on these changes by the 'Pending changes'. They can decide whether or not they include those changes.
If you synchronize with the other developer changes, you can create alter or create scripts by importing the target database and generate scripts.
If you want to build a historical version of the model, you check out a version of the design with a specific revision (you can specifiy this during checkout). You build create scripts based for this version.

  • Data modeler: Having Maintainable Query for View Creation

    Hi,
I am using SQL Developer 4 and the data modeler. I typically create a view in SQL developer (from a SQL select statement). I then drag and drop the view to the data modeler in order to have it stored for the next time I regererate the database schema from the data modeler. This works and I can see the query for my view when I click Properties on the view in the data modeler. However, the query I see there is logically equivalent (and very similar) but it is hard to read for a programmer as carrier returns are added, the various elements of my where clause are not in the same order as I programmed them, comments (starting with '--') where not transfered with the drag and drop.
I feel I cannot only rely on the version of the view stored in the data modeler to keep my DDL code that creates the view. Maintenance of that code would be too difficult. I feel I will need to keep a separate SQL script (in a separate version control tool) containing the select statement of my view. I would then always need to make my modifications in this select statement, update my view in the database and then drag and drop the result back in the data modeler. This is cumbersome.
Do you have any solution for me? Thanks!

So where it says yes thous are the vendors that people associated with them have to asses and where there's an X thous are the topics that the vendors have to be rated on . So if for example the first guy on the list  jjjjjnn Bixxxxxff will asses TSSA , ORACLE , HP , IBM , MS , SAP  on the topic of Architecture and if you look at the second user itha CCCniah he would rate TSSA , ORACLE , INTERGRAPH on the topics of Relationship and performance  . Any idea how i could data model this to get my table structures right .so that features like completion status could be displayed to the user through APEX which can only be done by a correct data-model i have tried normalization but  i did go anywhere becauce there are so many variations any idea on how you would go about data modeling this would be greatly appreciated thank you     If you would like a better copy of the table my email is    [email protected]

  • Foreign key Mapping based on Data - in SQL Developer Data modeler

    Team
Do SQL Developer Data modeler supports Foreign Key mapping based on the Data in the Schema rather defined at the DDL ? For e.g if we implement a Objects Relation ship mapping in Data base, we don't define Foreign keys at table creation.
Toad does this feature through "AUTOMATIC FOREIGN KEYS MAPPING IN TOAD DATA MODELER" more info at (http://toadworld.com/Blogs/tabid/67/EntryId/905/Automatic-Foreign-Keys-Mapping-in-Toad-Data-Modeler.aspx)
any one know how to implement through some scripts also helps me
    Regards
    Raj

If you have table PKs defined and the candidate columns match those PK columns, then you can use the Discover Foreign Keys utility. Right mouse over the relational model name (node) in the left browser. It is about half way down the menu. I did a blog post about it last week on kentgraziano.com.

  • How to use an existing data model using Business Components in OEPE

I am a beginner in ADF. I am working on a project with an existing data model that uses Business Components (EO, VO and AM). I know that OEPE does not handle the creation of BC, so if I want to modify them, I will have to do that in JDev. That's fine.
OEPE can create pages with drag and drop like in JDev. In my eclipse ADF projects, I would like to use the existing BC, to be able to use the bindings with ADF Faces. So far I have nothing in the Data Controls tab.
How to import the BC into the Data Controls tab?
    JDev 11.1.1.6
    WLS 10.3.6
    Eclipse Kepler

We currently don't support DataControls based on the ADF BC technology. We will consider such support if there is a strong interest in that use case.
Independent of the IDE's you use, there are ways to expose services based on ADF BC that can then be consumed by the view layer. A Google search will point you to some of the approaches.
HTH. Thanks for your interest in OEPE.

  • Oracle BI Publisher no columns loaded from data model

    Hello Guys,
I use Oracle BI Publisher 11g. Have created a data model by using
the JDBC thin connection to a 11g database. The creation of the data model
worked fine using a SQL query. Now in the report creation wizard, I select
the "guide me" option to see how nice the wizard is.
The problem comes here, on the second window I should select the columns
but I only read "no columns available". Why is that?

    Hi Metalray
For BIP report sample XML data is importent. with sample data you cannot generate the BIP reports.
Follow the below steps, you can achieve your expected BIP output
After crating data set in the data medel save the data model then click on
--get XML output option on right side of the top-corner.
-- then selet no. for the nuber of rows to return dropdown option,
--then click on Run. Then save the sample data by clicking on Save as sample data option.
--then it will take you to the data model page, now again save the data model
--and use it for creating the reports.
Now you were able to see the available columns in the the second window of guide me option
please mark if it helps you..

  • Mapping in VC Model creation

    Hi GLM,
Can you guide in VC model creation for mapping the data between SD_DOC to the SALESDOCUMENT field. Actually i am not getting
If not already displayed, open the Configure Element task panel and click the select line to the Inputport of Sales orderGetstatus. As you can see in the table at the bottom of the task panel, the SALESDOCUMENT field of the Salesorder Getstatus data service must receive data from the table. To map the data, assign @SD_DOC to the SALESDOCUMENT field, by clicking on the fx column and choosing it from the drop-down list (you will need to scroll down in the list).

    got it.

  • Path direction in Oracle spatial network data model

    Hi all,
can any one help me how to implement path direction using oracle network data Model?
We are using Oracle Spatial database. there is one feature called network constraint in Network data Model. but how to implement path direction of my Network ? Please help me any one

The path direction in a Spatial network is enabled at creation time when calling the create network procedure such as SDO_NET.CREATE_LOGICAL_NETWORK. If you describe the Create procedure you're using you should see a IS_DIRECTED argument, which when set to TRUE will enable path direction. Then just ensure that your links are created in the right direction -specifying correct orientation for start node and end node.
    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • SQL Data Modeler bugs (or only misused?)

    Hi,
I think I ran into some modeler bugs and missing features ...
BTW: is there a place where all the known bugs are listed?
    * although "no action" was selected in "General Options - Model - Relational" for foreign keys all the foreign keys are created with
"not deferrable" (well, why not, if it makes the modeler happy) and
"on delete set null" (thats not what I'd call "no action")
    * DDL statements for indexes lack the schema name
    * newly generated foreign relations are not always displayed in the relational model
    * DDL preview for syncing physical model with relational does not (always) work (well - so far it worked once)
steps taken: File - Import - Data dictionary, selected objects for import, correct target model chosen, "swap target model" checked
    * foreign keys in unique constraints are always set to "not null" (in logical and physical model)
    * no trigger/constraint created for ARCs (I am not sure about this, but IIRC I did not see anything making an ARC really work)
Or do ARCs simply not work yet?
    * modeler hangs sometimes (e.g. when opening "Save as" dialog etc.)
    * dialogs are opened outside visible pane when the position of monitors is changed (the dialogs seem to remember their last position)
    * sequences (physical model withing relational model) are loosing their user
    * missing multi schema capabilities :-(
    * the layout capabilities - pardon my french - suck
Especially that the boxes and lines seem to wander around from one usage to the next (entities aligned with grid - next start the entities are no longer aligned).
And if you ever need to save/export the model somewhere else all the references stick to a single connection point.
Not to mention a simple move of a box ...
    Thank you for your effort

    Hi Philip,
sorry for not answering quite a time ...
    Just some prerequisites ;-) ...
    - Target database: Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.4)
    - Modeler version 2.0.0 build 570
    - model creation method: logical model, relational model, (physical model), Database objects
    - OS WindowsXP German, SP3
    - JDK Sun Java 1.6, build 1.6.0_16-b01
    * nullable FK column in unique keys
meanwhile I found out, how to achieve that - but IMHO the steps to take are quite cumbersome
    1) make a FK relation with "target optional" checked on the Cardinality page of the FK properties
    2) open entity properties, check attributes of FK column (it says: nulls allowed - the checkbox cannot be changed)
    3) got to unique identifiers page and add a unique identifier
    4) open the unique identifier property dialog and add the foreign key
    5) close both property dialogs
    6) reopen the entity property dialog, check attributes of FK column (it says: no nulls allowed - the checkbox cannot be changed)
    7) check the FK properties: it still says: target optional (it is checked)
    8) check the graphical representation of the FK key: dashed line at target entity (meaning: optional)
    9) create the relational model: the FK column is created with "not null"
    10) go back to logical model
    11) change FK property to: target mandatory (uncheck "target optional")
    12) create relational model
    13) change FK property to: target optional (check "target optional")
    14) create relational model
    15) SUCCESS! the foreign key column is now nullable
BUT: you never ever must change ANY of the entities properties or you must redo steps 11 to 15
    * "no action" of FKs
I will look into that. Thanks for the suggestions.
    * DDL statements for indexes
Sorry for being imprecise ... I was talking about automatically generated indexes (for unique and foreign keys).
Those don't show up in the index listing of the tables in the physical model (probably, because they are automated).
But why do I have to set the default schema for indexes again? The tables get the schema information for the default schema (General Options - Model - Physical) but not the indexes :-(.
    Generated DDL snippet:
    CREATE TABLE ZCBC1ST1.ZCBRAGIT_AGENDAITEM ( ...
    CREATE UNIQUE INDEX ZCBSAgIt_U1X ON ZCBC1ST1.ZCBRAGIT_AGENDAITEM ( ...
Same for FK indexes. And the unique index property page in the physical table section does not let me specify a schema owner (OK for me, because the unique key is created by an "alter table" statement).
    * ARC trigger
My bad - I only checked "DDL preview" of the table, which doesn't show the ARC trigger. The complete generation does. Sorry.
    * "missing multi schema capabilities" and "sequences loose owner"
    Please excuse a newbie blush.
I just found out I can change the table owner using the physical model capabilities (I guessed I used way too long PowerDesigner V6 ;-) ).
    BUT ...
The newly created user does not "survive" a "save all - close all - open" sequence on "Physical Models" ... only closing the app or saving the Oracle10g physical model makes the user persistent.
And also ... if the new table or sequence owner is the first in the drop down list on the property dialog, the user is replaced by an automatically created new user (e.g. User4, User5, and so on).
    Example:
    * I have three defined users and the standard "MDSys" and "Public".
    * My three users are named ZCBC1ST1, ZCBCCore and ZCBCDial (those names are because i need to follow naming rules).
    * ZCBC1ST1 is my default physical model user, which was set in "General Options"
    * ZCBC1ST1 is the first in each drop down list.
    * I have some sequences named Seq1, Seq2, Seq3 and Seq4
    * Seq1 was given to ZCBC1ST1, Seq2 to MDSys, Seq3 to ZCBCCore and Seq4 to ZCBCDial
    * saved and closed the Oracle10g physical model and reopened it
    * Seq1 now has User4, but the other have still the users they were attached to
The same applies to tables - I am unable to give a table to the first entry of the user list.
Solution I found to this problem ...
    1) remove the default physical user in "General Options" (and never ever set it again)
    2) create a explicit user (with the name of the prior default user)
    3) manually reattach all objects to this user sigh
    4) so far not a problem with automatically generated indexes, because they don't use the default user anyway
    * newly generated FKs not shown in relational model
I had this odd behaviour several times.
    1) Logical model: adding a new FK relation
    2) giving the reference-column a pretty relational name
    3) generating the relational model
    4) rather often the new column shows up in the relational model but the arrow for the new foreign key does not.
    5) only after i open the properties dialog of the missing foreign key the arrow is shown in the model
    6) happens often to sub-models - less often to the top-model
    * model syncing (Oracle10g with modeler)
As Ms. Harper stated in one of her posts (and she even made a video tutorial IIRC) it should be possible to sync a Modeler model with the Oracle10g contents.
AFAIR the tutorial showed only how to sync the model with the contents but not vice versa.
I tried to achieve this checking the "swap target model" check box (that's the important thingy) of the import dialog. Everything worked fine besides there is only a preview of DDL statements available but no "Merge" or "Create DDL Statement". And exactly that preview doesn't seem to work anymore. No matter what objects I select, I am unable to see any DDL statements to upgrade the Database.
I don't know why, but it worked again just before. I will keep an eye on this. ;-)
    So much for now ...
    Thank you for your effort
    Peter

  • SQL Developer - Data Modeler - Trigger for FK arc constraints

In the preferences there is an option "Data Modeler > DDL > Create Triggers for FK arc constraints". I think Oracle recomments to use constraints instead of triggers where it is possible. Can anyone from the Development team tell me why here is just the option to create triggers and not also the option to create table level constraints for FK arc constraints? If it is possible I'd like to have this option. My suggetion is to use the following check constraint construction for creation: nvl2(FK_IDx,1,0)+nvl2(FK_IDy,1,0)+...+nvl2(FK_IDz,1,0)=1 or with not only single FK columns: nvl2(FK_IDx1,1,0)+nvl2(FK_IDx2,1,0)+nvl2(FK_IDy,2,0)+...+nvl2(FK_IDz,2,0)=2. Please tell me if that would be possible (and maybe available in next Version) or why it is better to user triggers instead.
    Thanks

  • Data Modeler - can't create a spatial indexes

    Good day, colleagues!
I have a 584 release of Dala Modeler.
Here is the cite from Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler Guide:
    "3.82 Spatial Definition Properties
Coordinate System ID: Oracle Spatial SRID value. ...
+Create Spatial Index: Controls whether a spatial index is created.+
Spatial Index Name: Name for the spatial index.
I have a SDO_GEOMETRY column in my table and want to create spatial index.
The problem is that there is no "Create Spatial Index" option in my Spatial Definition Properties window. There is only "Spatial Index Name" option. When I'm trying to create spatial index manually, I can't, because "Spatial" option for creating index is inactive. I've checked "Register as Spatial Table" table option, but it also didn't help.
So, I have no way to create a spatial index. How can I do it?

    Hello usamytch,
creation of spatial index is confusing. We'll improve it in next releases. Here are the steps:
    1) create index - no need to add columns
    2) create spatial column definition ("Spatial properties" in table dialog)
    3) In spatial column definition you can select your spatial column, coordinate system ID, dimensions and you can select one of existing indexes to be used as spatial one.
    4) after that index appear as spatial and you can set spatial related properties in index dialog
    5) you have to check "Register as Spatial Table" in order to get spatial meta-data generated in DDL
There are additional spatial properties you can set in physical model.

  • Generation of DDL similar to Oracle Designer (Data Modeler 3.0 EA1.)

    Hi,
Will the production version of SQL Data Modeler allow the creation of separate DDL files similar to that which Oracle Designer does? For example, I can create a sequence number generator in Data Modeler (DM) and then make a call to that in an Object Type method. However the DDL file that is generated by DM has all DDL in one file. This would allow to take dependencies were taken into consideration, that is create the sequences before object types, packages and tables, then object type bodies, package bodies, etc...
    Thanks,
    ScottK

At this stage we do not support multiple files. We do plan to do this in the future. However you can work around this by repeating the DDL generation for the different objects types you want to have files for.
Remember that you can vote on the Exchange for your most desired features.

  • Data Modeler: Problems with importin from DDL and Designer

I have a few problems with importing models from Designer and DDL:
    1. Can I import spatial indexes from Designer or DDL file? An index does appear in the model but it doesn’t seem to be a spatial index. When trying to import from database, the index doesn’t appear in the model at all.
    2. Is it possible to import sdo_geometry data types from DDL file? I haven’t succeeded with it, instead the column's data type appears unknown.
    3. Sometimes import from DDL files (that are generated with DM) failed with nothing appearing to the model. I haven’t figured out why that happens. I didn’t receive any error message, the model just opened empty.
    4. DM doesn’t seem to recognize public synonym creation from DDL. View log gives the following message:
    <<<<< Not Recognized >>>>>
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TABLE1
    FOR TABLE1
    5. Sequences lose their properties when importing from Designer. They only have a name but but start with, increment by and min/max values are empty in DM. Importin from DDL works fine.
I’m using data modeler version 2.0.0 build 584

    Hi Alex,
There is newer version of Data Modeler (3.0 EA2) and it is free
You can download it from here
