Workflow Deployment

Firstly, I'm not having a problem but have an organizational/deployment concern under the following environment:
- SOA Suite 10.1.3.1
- JDeveloper 10.1.3.1
- As a developer I only have access to developer tools and development servers
I'm trying to find a method to use a human task in a BPEL process that does not generate an stand-alone workflow application that is deployed to the application server. Ideally I'd like to use a XSL to display the task information in a read-only form within the work list manager. This still generates a standalone workflow application that must be deployed for basically one file.
It is annoying that I have to have all these little workflows littering the application server. I've tried looking for the workflow EAR in the bpel output folder and it is not retained. So as a result I can't just create a simple package with an application EAR (including workflow modules), and BPEL JAR to deploy to production. I have to deploy the BPEL process to the development server, find the workflow EAR file on the server and copy it back over so I can have someone deploy to production.
So I'm looking for one of two solutions:
1) A way to use XSL on tasks within the work list manager without having to deploy standalone workflow applications, or
2) A way to prevent workflows from deploying to the server but rather deploy to a WAR file which can be included in an application-wide EAR file.
Sorry for being long winded. In summary I've automated of the application and BPEL processes using ANT scripts but it is unacceptable to be required to deploy workflows as stand-alone applications instead of as modules within an application.
Any help would be great.

Hi,
Please post the question to the OWB forum for the recommended, certified configurations for the usage of Oracle Workflow with OWB.

  • Workflow Deployment Wizard - in OWB

I am working with Oracle Warehouse Builder, and I can generate all my project and I can also register my jobs in OEM by OWB.
Now I'm trying to run the "Workflow Deployment Wizard", in order to schedue my jobs into Workflow.
I need to do that, and I've already installed the "Oracle Workflow Server" in the same machine where the Oracle9iAS is located (SUN).
The infrastructure database is located in another SUN machine.
In order to install Oracle Workflow Server in Oracle9iAS, I followed the instructions to install InterConnect, that has embeded the Workflow.
In the workflow login, I connect with the user "owf_mgr" and I follow
clicking next untill the end. In the last window, "Finish", I keep selected the box "Do you want to deploy Workflow Process into Oracle Enterprise Manager?" and click "Finish".
So, only the first 3 jobs are created into OEM, the "Item Type". Afther that, the following error message appears:
WKF0012: Oracle Enterprise Manager job registration failed:
WKF0013: Oracle Enterprise Manager job registration failed.
Verify that the Oracle Management Server is running and that the

    Hi Siva,
Please "run as Administrator" on the workflow configuration wizard, see if it could work.

  • SharePoint 2013 workflow deployment doens't update workflow definition

In Visual Studio 2013, we can develop SharePoint 2013 workflow and deploy directly in SharePoint. However, once a workflow is deployed and later modified and redeployed, the modified workflow definition doesn't take effects. Even if you retract the solution
and redeploy, the associated workflow with the sharepoint solution doesn't get updated in the SharePoint. Retracting the SharePoint solution then restarting the development server and finally redeploying will reset the workflow definition.

  • SP 2013 designer workflow deployment error on new SP Farm

We are using SharePoint 2013 enterprise and InfoPath 2013 for the workflow requirements as mentioned below:
For Approval, Reminder and Alert Emails we have used SharePoint designer workflows with following details:
    SP2010 Workflow
    This is a site workflow
Get Manager and other custom user profile property to identify whether the current approver has not reached beyond then department head.
This is called from the SP 2013 workflow with parameter of created by field initially and later with the current approver in a loop implemented in designer workflow
    SP 2013 workflow
This is a list workflow attached to the form library
This executes the sp2010 workflow to get manager and custom user profile property to identify level of manager
Then starts task process in loop assigned to manager, manager of manager and so on.  Loop ends after the approver reaches to the department head level
This sets the published fields in the InfoPath form library to control the views with the current approver and state of the form based on the approval status
We are still facing issues with deploying the workflow and get the following error while publishing when the workflow is deployed from one farm to another (i.e. from dev to test environment).
     We
have followed instructions outline at this link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj819316(v=office.15).aspx#section2
    Other Notes:
At the destination server, I am able to create and publish new SP 2013 and 2010 type of workflow without any error.
    Thanks
    Ibrahim

we have fixed in the same week but due to unavailability of time, i am posting reply now.
We have managed to solve this by installing latest updates from Microsoft.
We have installed SP1 + April updates for SharePoint 2013.

  • Workflow Deploy Problem: No Workflows found (no error when generate)

I already tried to find other thread and test/change a couple of things already.. but i couldnt solve this basic problem yet.
    PLEASE KINDLY HELP.
I am new to SUP and I just want to test deploying any workflow to my test device (iPhone).
However, i didnt make it. ("generated mobile workflow package" successfully. no error log.  But i see nothing in the Sybase workflow on my iPhone"
This is what i did ...
    1. Registered the device.
In SCC, Applications / Application Connections
I successfully registered my iPhone device and got the online status.
    2. I tried to develop a basic workflow application and assign to my device
2.1 I created a basic MBO from a table in sampledb.
I "deploy project" to SUP server. No error. Checked in SCC, i found my package created there as well.
2.2 I created new "Mobile Workflow Forms Editor". I create a simple screen from prepared MBO.
           I "Generate mobile workflow package"
I also selected checkbox "Assign workflow to user(s)" and i use the "Get Users" button to get my user.
(it got the correct user for me.. no problem during this step)
               I got this message
    ============================================================
    Deployment to Unwired Server
    ============================================================
    Deploying the workflow

2.3 I checked in SCC. Applications / Application Connections >> Then, for my register, i clicked "Workflow Assignment" button.
Everything seem to be fine. That workflow was already assigned.
UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN I TESTED THE SYBASE WORKFLOW ON MY IPHONE, I SAW NOTHING...
        "NO WORKFLOWS FOUND" ...
(I also checked status at that time and my test device status in SCC was still online at that time.)
    Note:
    SUP Server: 2.0
Sybase Workflow on my Iphone: 2.1
This test WF application is "can be started, no demand, from the client" type.
Any help would really be appreciated.
    Brgds,

    Yes, status is ONLINE
When register the device, status = PENDING
Then, after open sybase workflow in the test device (iPhone), status in SCC change to ONLINE.
From then until i deploy the app (generate), status in SCC show as ONLINE.
After I failed to see any workflow app in my test device, i come back to SCC and click refresh again, status is still ONLINE.
    Pls help ...

  • Workflow Deployment to new enviroment

    Hi
Currently as a TA I need to migrate large amount of workflow to a new enviroment. I use repimexp method for workflow migration. All the worklfow had been activated.
But today we found out that the workflow is not working properly. When check on the siebel tools it found out that the child workflow or the parameter in the workflow is not fill in properly. What is the best method for workflow migration if there is complex subprocess workflow relationship in those workflow?
Currrently Im manually trying to do "SIF in" for our new enviroment but I find it very tedious. Is there any automated process?

    Joey,
If I am not wrong you can use ADM to migrate workflows from one environment to another:

  • Is it possible to debug workflows deployed using Workflow Manager in VS 2013?

I know and I have debugged workflows in VS 2012 as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj658563%28v=azure.10%29.aspx
But I am unable to debug in VS 2013 Update 2.
Also, many activities like HttpSend are not displaying after updating to VS 2013 Update 2.
Is there any fix available for this?

You can't step through a SharePoint Designer Workflow.  The normal workaround is to Log messages to the History list with the values you want to look at where you would normally put breakpoints.  Then run the workflow and examine the history
list to see how the values changed as you went through your workflow.

How do I clean up my original project so it does not give me this error when deploying and activating the workflow feature?

    Best regards Lars Kohsel

    Hi,
As the error still occur when you create a simple workflow in the original project, maybe some configurations have been changed in the project.
You can check with the new created project whether there are some difference configurations in the project.
There is a similar article for your reference.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cliffgreen/archive/2013/03/11/sharepoint-2013-workflow-deployment-errors.aspx
What’s more, you can also copy your original project code to the new project, then check whether it works.
If it works, the we can use the new project instead of the original project.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Workflow Manager Configuration Wizard is not working with USER ID

    Hello everyone,
       I
have successfully installed Workflow Manager 1.0 (and its prerequisites) on my Server 2008 R2 SP1 machine that is hosting Sharepoint 2013.  I attempt to go into the Workflow Manager Configuration.  That comes up and asks me if I want to Create
new farm with Default Settings, New Farm with custom settings, or existing farm.  I've tried both Default settings AND Custom settings.
                When
the configuration wizard comes up, I attempt to fill out the necessary information.  It seems to connect to the SQL server without a problem.  I only run into an issue when setting the USER ID.  The program totally freezes up and force closes.
                I
have verified that the USERID is in the correct format and tried multiple different formats.  The problem is that the moment I move the cursor from the USERID field to ANY other field, the program force closes.  I'm not able to hit submit, I'm not
able to change any other options.  The moment USERID is manipulated or the cursor LEAVES the USERID field, the program force closes.  It won't even allow me to put in a password before it force closes.
                 Customer
domain is running in Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edittion SP2.
    Any
    ideas?
I have installed also cumulative update to avoid crash but still I am getting force to close workflow wizard. I have used users which are already added in administrator groups.
We are using 3 tier architecture for Sharepoint 2013.
Also we have made Alias of Domain controller. Eg:-Alias is "labs" for domain "xyz.ab.com".
And we are using labs\spadmin and labs\spservice for Workflow Manager Configuration 1.0
Is there any issue with Domain Alias "labs" as Workflow gives error  "Specified RunAs account is invalid" or "Force close the application".

Check to ensure that the user you're running the wizard as has access to the Users and Computers folders in Active Directory. I had trouble with the "specified RunAs account is invalid" message, and when I granted the AD rights, I was able to proceed.
The issue would be that the user executing the wizard isn't able to query AD to look up the specified user. The RunAs account you're specifying is probably fine.

  • Currupted Workflow Manager Configuration, RE-Installation Guidence?

    Dear All,
We have few workflows which are currently running in our SP 2013 server farm. The workflows stopped working for sometime, when we examined the errors, we could see that we are no longer able to open the workflow manager and Service Bus configuration wizards,
they say a certificate is missing in the certificate Store.
But on visiting the certificate store, I can see that there is a certificate with the Thumbprint specified in the error but it is expired.
We are not able to find any guidance on how to solve these errors. The Workflow Manager documentation doesn't have this info as on date.
We can't make our workflows run in the usual way.
We can't find any guidance on how to re-install the Workflow Manager on such server Farm with workflows deployed and with their history.
Could you please let us know any possible solution.
    Best regards,
    Prem

In Test env try to remove all servers from the farm without deleting dbs or uninstalling, then rejoin them, and recreate the certs.
