hi gurus,
we need to develop a tool to findout the custom WF, custom BOR and workflow related Zfunction modules used in a particular workflows in the client system.
Eg-
I have a custom workflow i need to find the list of all zfunction modules , z includes used in that Workflow.
please suggest us the table names which stores ZFunction module or z includes used in particular workflow

The only way to do this is to read through the source code of all the objects accessed within workflow and look for the relevant ABAP statements that access Z tables or function modules.

As far as the objects are concerned, this is another story altogether. Something as simple as using an SAP standard object attribute in work item text could actually be a delegated subtypes with a redefined virtual attribute.
So you need to scan everything: all tasks in a workflow and methods, as well as all container elements of each step. You will also need to navigate the object hierarchy to deal with delegation and subtypes. Then you need to consider propagation, what about Zfunction modules called by Zfunction modules in workflow? What if the method submits a report - you would need to scan that report and everything else that it calls and so on.
This could be a fiendish challenge but sounds like a fun project. Good luck!

Retrieving data from a relational table and CLOB as a whole XML file

I created the table lob_example and I have managed to insert XML document into it using XML SQL Utility. In this document I put contents of <DESCRIPTION> tag into CDATA section.

But I could not retrieve this data properly. I can think of only one solution - to parse and build the whole XMLDocument. It is expected somebody first reads the guidelines and then starts posting, it is the first line in the guidelines. So I expect it also. I don't see why I should expect it from someone who has at least 30 points, and not from someone who has never posted.
About your analogy, it doesn't work because most of the time the functional consultant needs me to create the workflow, or he is part of the same project so we need each other. In this forum I spend my own precious time answering questions, and not for the points but because I want to contribute and help others. But I expect them to have tried to 'help' themselves first.
And as long as there is no moderator for the forum I will try to point people at the guidelines so this forum will not end up generating a lot of 'noise' and running of those who can help maybe the most (to name two: Kjetil Kilhavn and Mike Pokraka). I know they are thinking about skipping this forum because of the noise.

Depending on the situation I will do this to my peers and juniors, mostly because they will learn more from finding things out by themselves than from pre cooked answers. And learning is one of the main objectives here.

Go to Transaction SE80, Select Program and paste that program name below..
Then drop down the tree of that program...then you will find option " Dict. Structures"..
Here you can find the tables which has been you for that transaction / program.

Table maintanance Generator is used to manually
input values using transaction sm30.The Table Maintenance Generator is used to create table maintenance program to add, modify or delete records in the database table. This can be accessed using transaction SE54 or in SE11 using the menu Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator

go to se11 check table maintanance check box under
attributes tab
utilities-table maintanance Generator->
create function group and assign it under
function group input box.
also assign authorization group default &NC& .

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

Steps to find the BAPI/function modules used in a transaction
1) Find the package of the transaction thro' SE93.
For example the package for the transaction VA03 is VA
2) Go to Se80, key-in the package (say VA)
3) You can see the function modules under the folder finction group and
you can see the BAPI's under the folder Business Engineering-> Business Objects-> double click on the released methods of the Business Objects

Hash table and function module input

Hi ABAP Expert,
Please advise what happening if i am passing the intertal table (hashtable) become input of function module (table).
so insite the function module is this table still hashtable type or just normal internal table ?

Typing of such parameter should be either generic (i.e ANY TABLE) or fully specified (HASHED/SORTED/STANDARD TABLE). In both cases when you pass i.e. HASHED table to that formal parameter the dynamic type will be inherited by the actual paremeter.
This means that inside the function module you will not be able to use HASHED table "banned" statement i.e. not appending to this table. The system must be fully convinced about the type of passed parameter to allow certain access. Without that knowledge it won't pass you through the syntax checker or will trigger runtime error.
I.e
"1) parameter is typed
CHANGING
C_TAB type ANY TABLE
"here you can't use STANDARD/SORTED table specific statements as the dynamic type of param might be HASHED TABLE
append ... to c_tab. "error during runtime
"2) parameter is typed
CHANGING
C_TAB type HASHED TABLE
"here system explicitly knows that dynamic type is the same as static one so you can append to this table too
append ... to c_tab. "syntax error before runtime
So the anwser to your question
so insite the function module is this table still hashtable type or just normal internal table ?

During syntax check system takes static type of table and shouts if table related operation is not allowed for this kind.
During runtime system takes dynamic type of the table and checks whether particular statement is allowed for this kind of table, if not triggers an exception.

Unable to send table to function module using RFC

Hi all,
I'm trying to send a table from XI to a function module using RFC. I tested the process first using indivdual parameters. At this point there were no problems. Now I changed the import parameter of
the FM into a table and imported the changes into XI. I changed the Message mapping and tested it with multiple records. When I run the process XI calls the FM but the FM doesn't receive any data. I tested this by puting a break-point in the FM. There are no errors in the XML Messages Monitor. I found this message in the Communication Channel Monitoring:

Hi everyone,
thanks for your prompt response! I tested the mapping in XI and didn't find any error here. So I concentrated on the receiver side. There were some communication channels running on the server that were generating errors. I stopped alle the communication channels and started just the two communication channels for this process. This time the table was successfully exported to the function module! Problem solved. Still not sure what caused the problem in the first place, but everything is working fine now.

Tracing Form and Function modules using SE30

Hi,
I want to trace only the Forms and function modules that are executed by a program using SE30. I have tried setting the variants in different ways but it still gives lot of junk information which i dont need. How can I set up the variant so that it only traces Forms and function modules executed by a program?

First of all create a vraian tin SE30. While creating the variant, in th Tab 'Duratn/Type' select the radio buton 'NONE'. Now execute yur program and then analyse.Select 'GROUP HIT LIST' Icon which gives Function Modules,Subroutines etc.

Generating XML from relational tables and storing back in CLOB field

I have been reviewing the documentation and trying to figure out the best approach. I am on v 10.2.0.3 and need to select from a parent table and three child tables and want to generate the results as xml that I will place in a clob field in another table. I looked at XMLQuery and dbms_xmlgen.getxml. The difference appears to be that getxml allows you to code traditional sql to join the tables.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide some feedback and any sample code along the line that I describe above.
