WPF Intensity Graph gridlines not visible on plotted data

Hi, I need to break up my intensity graph data into a visible grid.  Please advice on how this can be accomplished.
Thank you

Although you can configure the grid lines to appear above the plots, to draw in between the data points you will want a custom renderer. I have attached an example grid renderer, which you can customize to fit the data you display. If you add an instance of GridRenderer to the Children collection on your graph, it will draw grid lines for each axis passed to the constructor.

  • 3D Line Graph.vi not displaying line connecting data points.

I'm having trouble getting 3D Line Graph.vi to display the line connecting my data points.  I'm collecting latitude, longitude, and depth data from a binary file, loading this data into arrays with a while loop, and sending those arrays to 3D Line Graph.vi.  When I tried doing it with arrays created by random number generators, the line is displayed, but when I use it with my actual data, no lines are displayed.  I can only see where the data points are when rotating the 3D graph.  Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

    Karunya,
Thanks for the info on the 3-D Curve VI.  I tried it and it works.  I think I was able to find the problem with 3D Line Graph.vi.  It has something to do with plotting very close points away from the origin and scaling the axes to view the line.  I have attached an example of where the vi breaks down.  In this example, you can see that part of the line is drawn, but when you rotate the graph, you can see that the line is not drawn through all of the points.  If you change the scale of the axes, then you eventually get the line to go through all of the points, but then the graph is not very "readable" at that point.  It's when you try to zoom in really close to the plotted points.
    Thanks!

  • Graphs / Images not visible in Excel when exported from BI Publisher

When attempting to view a report containing a graph in Excel format from BI Publisher, if you select the View button, the graph image is successfully rendered on the Excel report page.
When selecting the Export button, however, the image is not successfully rendered, and an image placeholder is substituted on the report.
I have changed the web.xml file setting on the server under:
    C:\oracle\bise1\bi\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\web.xml
Here I changed the SecurityFilter Filter Mapping
    from:
    <url-pattern>/xdo/tmp/*</url-pattern>
    to:
    <url-pattern>/xdo/tmp/*.tmp</url-pattern>
This was successful in facilitating image rendering in Excel in the first place, but not when the Export button is used.
    Note: BIP Version is 10.1.3.2.1
    Excel Version is Excel 2007
Any assistance with this will be most appreciated.

    Hi,
I had similar kind of problem and see below for details.
I am using Vertical bar charts in my RTF Tempalte and output format is EXCEL. When i am prevewing from BI Publisher desktop output it is showing the charts . When i Used same template and running in the server side(i.e oracle applications concurrent manager ) it is not showing the charts in the output. If i run the same template through oracle applications concurrent manager with PDF output it is showing charts in the output.

  • Add a simple setting to Intensity Graph that draws grid on top of data

It would be extremely useful to break up the Intensity Graph data into cells to easily see "coordinates".  At the moment you have to follow coordinates with your finger or a pen.
I was given this solution but it is surely an overkill for what should be a simple setting.

    Siddhesh,
You could define buttons / controls ... called 'next comp code' and 'prev comp code', and then in the events for these controls you could re-populate the alv data table with the data for each company code each time a button is pressed.
    Hope this helps ...

  • Plotting data in a 3d surface graph

Im having trouble plotting data correctly on a 3d surface graph in my routine.
The goal of the vi is to plot a 3d image of a region of interest (ROI) from an intensity graph. The user selects the ROI with the cursor from the Intensity Graph (top left plot). The vi shows the region of interest in the ROI intensity graph (lower left plot). The goal is to create a 3d plot from this ROI. The 3d plot appears on the right.
The problem is that the 3d plot seems to shift the values of the data if data is selected anywhere other than from the 0,0 region of the Intensity Graph. If the user selects data from 0 upwards along the y-axis or to the right along the x-axis, the data plots fine. When the user selects data from the
center of the plot the data shifts off the 3d plot. The data is not missing. It is shifted. You can actually see the values when you left click and change the view of the 3d plot. The data appears as individual points off the surface graph. Each data point is the correct z data value. The scale on the 3d axes adjust correctly.
I've attached the routine below in the form of an llb file. The correct version of the main file is "mouse_to_select_area_hamilton4_laura". Do not run the main "mouse_to_select_area_hamilaton4" as it contains an error.

I have the same problem with one of these graphs. I have a surface plot that has been normalized to zero. However, the data is not centered on zero when plotted. I have an X and y vector input to the graph, it doesn't help. I have looked at each column of data and verified programmatically that the mean is zero of each column. There are gobs of data (some are 1 - 2 Mbytes big). Can that cause this? I use other graphs and a polar plot within the same application, they all look fine. I did get the 3D graph to plot correctly once, but the X vector values weren't displayed correctly (my X vector range is from .5 to 240 inches, the graph displayed 0 to 117 - which was the number of inch positions, not the inches positions themselves).

  • Cursor Misalignment in Intensity Graph (LV6.1)

    Howdy.
I have an Intensity Graph, with a 2D array of data (about 300x300) and a cursor. The cursor is locked to the plot, which for intensity graphs, means that the cursor is drawn at the lower left corner of the pixel that is being addressed.
Most of the time this works fine. However, sometimes, the cursor is drawn as being located at one pixel, but the values reported for the cursor are in fact a neighbor (usually the one to the right). The zoom level of the graph is such that a given pixel is larger than a screen pixel (about 3-5 times), so I wouldn't think that it was an aliasing problem, but the problem does go away if I zoom in a little further.
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have a fix?

I don't have a repeatable set of conditions that lead to this problem, so I don't have a demo vi that exhibits it.
As to unlocking the cursor, I think that in an intensity plot that is more confusing; the location and value reported for a cursor position are shifted half a pixel down and half left with respect to the way the plot is filled in. In other words, say we have a 10x10 plot shown in 100x100 pixel window. Each intensity value is 10 pixels wide. The axis values line up on the boundaries of these pixels. When the cursor is within half a unit (5 pixels) of the crossing point of these axes, that is, near the intersection of boundaries of four adjacent pixels, the value reported is the pixel location and value in the upper right of these four pixels. This means that with an unlocked cursor, I can be positioning it over (visually) the lower left pixel, but selecting the upper right. In fact 3/4 of any given pixel's visual representation is actually going to select some other pixel. So I've locked the cursor to remove that uncertainty; now it is supposed to be always in the lower left corner of the pixel selected.

  • Graph which should display the data of a view object not visible

    Hi,
I have a main page which contains a <af:panelAccordion> component with three <af:showDetailItem> components. Each of these <af:showDetailItem> components contain a page fragment. In each of these page fragments are a <af:table>, <dvt:pieGraph>, <dvt:lineGraph> and a <dvt:areaGraph> which represent data of view objects.
In the first <af:showDetailItem> window all components are visible. But when I click on another <af:showDetailItem> all components are visible except the <dvt:areaGraph>. Weird is when I insert a <af:commandLink> into the page fragment without any functions. Also the link doesn't invoke any mehtod and partial submit is set to false. Now when I click on this link the <dvt:areaGraph> with its data become visible and show the data.
The area graph and the line graph have partial triggers set to the table. Because when another row in the table is selected, the area and line graph should show data which is dependent on the selected row of the table.
    Has anybody an idea?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    thanks for your response.
I created a fragment-based flow and dragged it onto the main page as a region component. The main page contains the panelAccordian with its showDetailItem's. Each of the showDetailItem components of the panelAccordian contain such a region component.
Now I set the partial trigger's property of the region component pointing to the showDetailItem component which contains the region but nothing changed. The graph is still not visible at the first click on the detailItem. I also set the trigger's property of the region component pointing to the panelAccordian but also nothing happens.

    Hi,
We had developed the solution in OBIEE 11g(1.5) version then we migrated to OBIEE 11g (1.6) version. Now the issue is few of the graph's are not visible after migration.
Also even if I recreate the graphs and try to remove the decimal places by overwriting the default in column properties>Data format the graph becomes invisible again.
and when I run the report after unchecking the check box of overwriting the default data format I can see the graph.
what can be the reason & what is the solution?

  • Digital graph cursor text not visible after build

We are using Labview 2011. Our application has been using digital graphs, with cursor text to define digital transition information since Labview 7.1. We have ported our application to Labview 2011 (and also 8.6.1 in which it works fine). While in the Labview development environment, the cursor text displays correctly. However when we build it, and run the .exe, we cannot see the cursor text. Our debugging efforts have been in vain - the xy locations are correct, but the cursor text is not visible.
We want to standardize our next version software on 2011 (even though the Labview 2011 version is 4x larger and 2.2 x slower than the Labview 7.1 version) because we need x64 support, and want to run in Linux as well. We have spent considerable time trying to find out what is wrong, but the debugging time is very long to go through the thought - build - run cycle.
Any help on why this might be would be gratefully appreciated.

  • Programmatically disabling/enabling cursor in intensity graph

    Hello all,
I am building a LV interface (LV2011) for a stepper XY stage.  The system "scans" a surface, displaying it on the graph.  I set up to cursors to zoom into a region of interest (ROI).  Pressing a button resizes the scales to the ROI (zooming in on the area).  Sections of code move the XY stage, and read a device.  When done I want to zoom into a ROI and use a THIRD cursor to manually move the XY stage.  I have this working with TWO graphs, based on the "region of interest.vi" I found in the dev zone.
What I would like to do is have a boolean toggle controlling ONE GRAPH between setting min/max (cursors 0 and 1) and manual stepper position (cursor 2).  If cursor 2 is visible I want cursors 0 & 1 not showing and visa versa. Can I do this?
I attached the example - bascially what I did was add a cursor to the 2nd graph, grabbing the XY vales and sending to the stepper controllers. Works great!  I am trying to "combine the two" by resizing the orig graph with a button click (works fine) and then click another button to show the XY stage cursor (and hiding the min/max cursors) - thats the brick wall
On a seond note - controlling a XY stage using the intensity graph's cursor is really nice; however it would be great if I can control the cursor similar to a slider's "coerce" - has anyone done this?  I assume I have to write a routine in the event that performs some modulo function. Just curious!
    Thanks,
    Steve

Your exmaple works perfect. Howver I am having probs with Val(sngl) on the XY graph.  On the example you gave, lets say I move the cursor with the mouse - event fires, everyone is happy. If I move the cursor with CODE - nada.  I even read the "Value" of the graph and wrote it to "Val(sngl)" to try to fire the event.  How does one force a trigger on an XY chart when you move a cursor (say cursor idx2) using code?
Better yet - why when I read the Val and write to Val(sngl) does the event not fire??? I have been searching for a basic XY table with sensor -type project but havent found one yet.  Everyting works great - draginng the cursor moves the XY stage. Now I need to do the auto-scan part  Use code to place the cursor - trigger the even that moves the stage.
    Thanks

  • Fade colors of intensity graph

    Hi everyone,
I've made a program where I read an 2D-array and plot this array in a intensity graph.
I was wondering if the colors in the graph can fade in each other, preferably in vertical position (columns). The idea is that the numeric data becomes visualized like a DNA profile.
I've added a image of the plotted graph.

Without manipulating the array, no it's not possible.  I made an idea on the Idea exchange to fix this, I recommend you vote for it.  Anti-Alias or Smooth Intensity Plot

  • Cannot make vertical axis of intensity graph logarithmic

Has anyone else noticed that that the vertical axis on intensity charts cannot be made logarithmic? Labview gives you the option, but doesn't do anything when you try and check the box. Property nodes don't seem to work either. Tried this in LabVIEW 2011 SP1 and 2013. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a feature that isn't avaiable? I am just wondering if its my install or something that is really an issue.
My application is to plot the power spectrum of sound on a intensity chart to show history of sound recorded by a microphone in real time. Really good to pin point source frequencies of feedback.

    Hi Amit,
This is a documented problem with LabVIEW and it is currently being worked on. Here are a couple other Forums that discuss it and offer workarounds for this issue.
Log scale in an Intensity graph
Possible bug in Intensity Graph while using interpolate colors on a Log scale
    Intensity Graph - Mapping Mode
As shown in the 'Possible Bug' link above, a Corrective Action Request has been filed under the number 453407 as soon as a couple of weeks ago. To fully answer your question, it is not your install or anything like that, just an issue NI knows about and will be working on for future releases.
