Write File using File adapter

Hi,
I need to write atleast two lines. first the column headers and in second line, the data. Tried using 2 PLs but I think first line is getting overwritten by second one.
How can I achieve this?

Appending in file using File Adapter

Hi,
Can we use File Adapter to write in a file in append mode. i.e. a BPEL process opening a file appending some text and closing the file each time it called.
Another query is can we create the file at run time with the supplied file name?

To write a file in append mode, you need to add one line in wsdl file.
Make an entry with Append="true"
inside <jca:operation> tag found in wsdl file, created after Write file adapter.

Problem Using File adapter(Urgent)

Hi,
I have a simple ESB service where I have one Read File adapter for reading a file and other Write file adapter to write the same file to a folder.
I was able to deploy it to ESB instance successfully.
But when I put a file to read ESB is throwing
"OracleASjms/ESBDeferredTopic" error.
Can any one please help me.

We would be able to help you better if you provided the full error stack as this is very generic.
Generally the most common issue with the file adapter is permissions, make sure the SOA suite owner is able to read and write on the directory and the file.
otherwise post the error stack which may identify the real cause.

How to test File Adapter from EM Console

Hi All,
I have one issue with File Adapter where I am trying to implement a simple BPEL process. Below are the steps;
1. I have created an empty BPEL process and then add a read file adapter to the left side which will read from a file aa.txt which is present in D:\work folder. File is having data like XXXX,YYYY,ZZZZ. (I have used Native builder for schema generation)
2. Then I have added Write file adapter on the right side which will write to an other file bb.txt.
Then I have rebuild and deploy this on weblogic SOA server but on the EM console I am not able to test it as Test button is disabled. Then how to test this scenario? Also I tried testing by placing a new file aa1.txt in the same directory with some content. Logically it should be picked up and then write it to the bb.txt but it is not happening.
Can anyone please help me in this as how to troubleshoot it.

So if i understood correctly it means that we cannot test it using EM console as we have read adapter on the left side because of which we have not exposed it as SOAP service. When we put any file in the D:\XXX then automatically read adapter will pick that up and create one instance in the EM console and then write adapter will write it into the destination file?
But in our case no instance is getting created in the EM console even when I am copying a file to the directory. Below is the read_file.jca

File Adapter: File Deletion Failure

Hi everyone.
My File Adapter is having trouble deleting a file that I placed on a server through FTP. Even after executing chmodd 777 on that file. But, my File Adapter will delete a file that was created by another File Adapter on that same server.
Any suggestion as to why the File Adapter is able to delete a file created by another File Adapter but not able to delete a file uploaded through FTP?

Can't open up file adapter in JDev

Hi,
I have installed the file adapter sample adapters-file-101-FlatStructure from here

deployed, ran.
I want to open either read or write file adapter in JDeveloper but when I double click on it or right click/choose 'Edit' nothing happens. Why?

All other lines are "normal" with "usual" color scheme, not sure if this can be seen from below

How to use File Adapter Receiver to write attachments

Hi,
i have a scenario, in which our own XInotes adapter sends an XIMessage from an IBM Lotus Notes database into XI. This XIMessage contains an XML document as application main document and several PDF files as additional attachments
On the receiver side, i must use a File Adapter to write both the XML documents and the PDF attachments into a directory.
The problem is i don't know how to use the file adapter receiver to write the attachments. In the Channel Monitoring, i can see that all PDF files are transferred to the file receiver. But the file adapter writes only the XML document into the directory.
I've also tried the AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean, but it can only swap one PDF file into the application payload. And the file name must be hard coded in the module configuration as swap.KeyName.
Could anyone give me any ideas?

receiver file adapters do not supprt attachments.
Only File Sender adapter is capable of handling attachments not the receiver.

Configuring the sender FILE adapter
The sender file adapter is configured to pick the normal payload (file1.xml), which is specified in the File
access parameters, and the additional image file (file1.jpg) that is to be sent as an attachment is configured
under the Additional File(s) as shown in the screenshot below. The file type would still remain binary.
Since, by default, XI sends payload and attachments in XML format, we need to call two beans, namely the
MessageTransformBean and the PayloadSwapBean to help us is transforming the content to jpeg format
and also change the file extension.
The PayloadSwapBean module is used to replace the application payload of the XI message that holds the
data with another payload which is appended to the message as an attachment. In our case, the payload
would be file1.xml whereas the attachment would be file1.jpg
The swap module is denoted in our scenario with the module key swap. It has two parameters from the
MIME header.

To achieve it i have created the file adapter using user defined schema. It was working fine. But, I got the modifications in my requirement to store the returned result(String value) in to a text file without any user defined schema. So i used native format for FileAdapter and mapped the returnedResponse(String value) to opaque:opaqueElement. But i am facing relationship error.
anybody can help me to solve this issue?.. is there any method to convert a string value to opaqueElement..

File Read and Write using File Adapter in Bpel

In Bpel Process i am using File Adapter ( Schema is Opaque) for read and write the file contents. i am able do successful deployment and read, write function in first time deployment, after that again i tired to run the application, its not going to write the content of file, its only writing the file with out data's or content in that file.

Can file adapter be used to write to remote server

Hi, can file adpater be used to write to a remote server(say from linux to windows) or we have to run an ftp server and use the ftp adapter only.

Hi Manish,
As mentioned by Hisaak, File adapter should be used to write files locally and FTP adapter should be used to write files on remote servers. Still if you want to use file adapter then you have to mount/map the network drive (drive at remote server) to your local machine and then you may use File adapter, provided proper permissions are there.

How to write file into multiple directories by using file adapter?

i need to write my file into multiple directories,i able to do in single directory.But i need to write to muliple directories.Please help me out.Thanks in advance.

If you are passing the values at runtime then you can loop it and and invoke the file adapter in loop by dynamically passing the value in invoke properties for "File Directory and File name" etc.

Error in using file adapter valves

I'm working on Oracle SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.4). I'm doing an exercise on using adapter valves for encryption. I need to write an encrypted file using File adapter. I created pipeline.xml and also specified property in jca file. And added bpm-infra.jar file to classpath.
Also, I've compiled SimpleEncryptValve.java and created a jar file and placed it in lib directory of domain.
Pipeline.xml is as below :
