Actually the problem is like this:-
I have to select some records from table control and then want to save the selected records in DB table.

  • Table control in dialog programming

why we are using loops in pbo and pai events?

    Hi
First have to know the concept of Table control
The main purpose of table control is to display multiple records in a table like format.
so when to wants to display the multiple records, the internal table from which the table control has to be populated has to be kept in loop both in PAI and PBO.
    see the doc

You can also check the transaction ABAPDOCU which gives you lot of sample programs.
Also you can see the below examples...
Go to se38 and give demodynpro and press F4.
YOu will get a list of demo module pool programs.
    One more T-Code is ABAPDOCU.
YOu can find more examples there.

  • I can't get the syntax for a table defined function to work.

Specifically I'm trying to use a table type definition in my function.
CREATE TYPE "MYSCHEMA"."TT_MYTABLE" AS TABLE (
         "Field" varchar(12)
    CREATE FUNCTION "MYSCHEMA"."MYFUNCTION"()
    RETURNS TABLE ("MYSCHEMA"."TT_MYTABLE")
    LANGUAGE SQLSCRIPT
All the function examples use an actual field definitions and not an predefined table type.  I've tried the above and a bunch of other variations but I get a syntax error on all of them.
    This is the documentation page;
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_hanaplatform/helpdata/en/20/d42e77751910149f0ff6b879b1290f/content.htm
They don't show any examples using the table types and I can't seem to make sense of " <datatype> ::= <sql_type> | <table_type>".

If you read the grammar correctly then I think it is not possible. Table UDF does not allow return table type that refers to another structure type definition but only elementary sql_type
I think what grammar you refering is from input parameters
Table Functions must return a table whose type is defined by <return_table_type>. And Scalar Funcitons must return scalar values specified in <return_parameter_list>.
    Defines the output parameters
    <return_table_type> ::= TABLE ( <ret_column_list> )
Defines the structure of the returned table data.
    <ret_column_list> ::= <ret_column_elem>[{, <ret_column_elem>}...]
Defines the list of columns returned from the function.
    <ret_column_elem> ::= <column_name> <sql_type>
    <column_name> ::= <identifier>

  • Strange issue with table control in dialog programming! Please help!

    Hello everyone:
I have a table control on screen painter and I have atleast 10 rows on display when user calls the screen. If I have 15 columns then ofcourse user has to scroll down to see extra rows. I have line selection set to "single" for table control so that user can select only one row at a time. This works fine when user does not have to scroll to see extra rows. It is tough for me to explain i.e., if the table control displays 10 rows when the screen opens up then they can only select single row at a time (rows 1 -10). For example user selected row 7 and now they scroll down to see extra rows (for example 13) then it lets them select row 13 also even though I set line selection to "single" in the properties for table control! They should be able to select only one row at a time. Is this some limitation with table control in SAP? Please give me any information you have.
    Thanks.
    Mithun

    Hi,
As you suspected, this is a limitation in the table control.  You need to take care of the single-selection functionality yourself except for the rows that are actually being displayed.  See [Note 588284|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/588284] for the official SAP explanation.

Assign a function code to F2 in your status and do the coding:
    PROCESS PAI.
    LOOP AT ITAB.
    MODULE GET_CURSOR.
    ENDLOOP.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND.
    MODULE GET_CURSOR.
GET CURSOR FIELD ws_field LINE ws_line.

    MODULE USER_COMMAND.
    CASE OK_CODE.
    WHEN 'PICK'.
    WS_LINE = <TABLE CONTROL>-TOP_LINE + WS_LINE - 1.
    READ TABLE ITAB INDEX WS_LINE.

  • Structure of the context for declaring internal table

    Hi,
Can we use the structure of the context for declaring the internal ?
    -Sid

    Hi Sid,
You can use the above element_ & elements_ notation to define workarea & internal table similar to your context. But the disadvantage of this approach as how pointed out by Thomas in 1 of his earlier threads is that this coding would work fine only for that particular view. If you copy the same code from your view input_view and try to use it in another view say VIEW1 then it wouldn't work as the interface name would have changed from if_input_view to if_view1. So its suggested to use the below approach:
    DATA: lt_main TYPE wd_this->elements_node_vbak,  " Internal table
              wa_main TYPE wd_this->element_node_vbak.  " Work area
Try go through this excellent [article|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60730016-dbba-2a10-8f96-9754a865b814]. It would help you understand what all you need to know about working with the context & its attributes.

  • Question(s) about the Active Cell:Position property node for a table control

    Hello,
What determines the Active Cell Position property node for a table control? I have this in my code and I am displaying its value to a front panel indicator. The value displayed is always set to 0,0. The help for the property node say that it is "read -only" so what sets the value of Active Cell Position  for a Table Control?
    Regards,
    Kaspar
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You set the active cell with a property node.  Once you select an active cell, you can do specific things to that cell and that cell alone, things like set the background color.

  • How to read the field value from Table Control

    Hello Experts,
I am creating my first Table Control Screen. Basically I have to create a screen (102) with a table control which has 2 fields: A_QTY, B_QTY and 2 Buttons: SAVE, EXIT.
When Clicked on 'SAVE' the data (MATNR) from a previous screen (101)  and the data (A_QTY, B_QTY) from the new screen (102) should be saved into a Z-table.
Internal table t_data has 3 fields.
    MATNR
    A_QTY
    B_QTY.
Table Control TC_RACK was declared like this:
controls tc_rack type tableview using screen 0102.
    I/0 Fields:
    A_QTY type ZQTY.
    B_QTY type ZQTY.
    The screen Flow Logic:
    process before output.
    module status_0102.
loop at t_data into w_data with control tc_rack.
      endloop.
    process after input.
      module exit_0102 at exit-command.
      loop at tc_rack.
      endloop.
    module user_command_0102.
    module status_0102output.
      set pf-status 'STATUS_102'.
      set titlebar 'TITLE_102'.
      describe table t_rack lines tc_rack-lines.
    endmodule.                 "status_0102 output
    process after input.
    module user_command_0615 input.
    case ok_code.
       when 'SAVE_RK'.
       when others.
    endcase.
    endmodule.                 "user_command_0102 input
Now for eg, when the users enter values for A_QTY and B_QTY like this:
    A_QTY     B_QTY
    1000         2000
    3000         4000
How can I read these values and pass them to T_DATA so that I can save it into Z-table?
    I greatly appreciate your help.
I've gone through some previously posted threads and could not understand because my knowledge in this area is preliminary.
    Thanks a lot.
Could you please let me know
Edited by: dev a on Jan 13, 2010 2:46 PM

    Hi dev a
    You should use
      DATA: lv_name(30) TYPE c.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <QTY> type ZQTY.
GET CURSOR FIELD lv_name.   "Get the field name in table control
    check sy-subrc = 0.
assign  (lv_name) to <QTY>.  "Here you get the value in <QTY>
    check sy-subrc = 0.
Also use <your table control>-current_line to get the table index uo're currently on.
Hint: Do not use GET CURSOR LINE if you want to get table index since this gives you the line relative to dialog screen
    Good luck

  • Syntax for internal tables with same structure

    Hi,
I would like to knwo what is the syntax to declare a table that has the same structure as the exisiting one?

Now I would like to declare IT_Tab2 with the structure of it_tab, how should I do that? Thanks!

  • How to write the logic for extending Idocs...

    Hi,
Can anybody pls explain how to write the logic for extending IDOCs with an example...
          Good suggestions can be appreciated..
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
Generally the IDoc user exit is called at the following places:
      1) When the control record is read.
      2) After each and every segment in the data record
      3) At the end of the data segment processing.
The IDoc user exit interface generally imports IDOC_DATA (data record internal table) table. Now the data records in the internal table should appear in the same order as maintained while defining IDoc structure (WE30 transaction). For SAP standard segment SAP code will take care of this. For extended segment you will have to take care of this aspect by appending the Z-segment in the IDOC_DATA table.
    You can do this by:
             looping at IDOC_DATA table:
                 - Do a case-endcase fo IDOC_DATA-SEGNAM (This stores the segment
                   structure as per the hierarchy).
                 - Within the case for "Z-segment" you can write the logic for appending
                   the Z-segment to IDOC_DATA-SDATA.
    Hope this gives some clue.
    Regards,
    Gajendra.

An yet you keep getting suggestions of how to set the focus.   I looked through the API documentation and I don't see anything that would suggest you can request to see where the current focus is.  Perhaps someone might still come along with a solution, but my hopes wouldn't be too high at this point.  I can pass the requirement onto Product Definition, as the use case does seem interesting.  Perhaps it is something we have even considered in the past.
But for now, there might be a better way to solve your problem.  It will probably mean redesign the interaction.  What exactly are your requirements?  Do you need to be able to get the data in a particular cell of table when a button is clicked?  Just throwing out some ideas here, but maybe just use the lead selection to select the row, but then have a button choice to choose the action associated with the column you want. A hack for sure - but it might work.  Also it doesn't help you right now, but in the near future update to NetWeaver 7.0, WDA does have a onColSelect event for the table.

  • Can you point me to FrameScript samples that do some or all of the following?  Or maybe even write the script for me for $$$? :-)

    Hi,
I'm brand new to writing FrameScript.  I'm looking for example scripts that I can piece together or perhaps you can give me a quote for your cost to write the script for me.  Here is a description of basically what needs doing.  We have .book files than contain say a cover.fm, multiple  chapter.fms, and possibly multiple appendix.fms.  (They actually contain more  types, but I can expand the script for that.)  I don't think here is a  consistent way to automatically determine which .fms are of which type, so I was  thinking of popping up a dialog box that showed the files in the book and asked  the user to identify which files were of which type.  This asking could be done  all at once, or it could iteratively ask for the first type then run all the  processing then ask for the second type, etc, etc.
The processing of each file goes like  this:
    1) Delete the paragraph and character catalog  contents
    2) Import all formats, including the new paragraph and  character catalogs from correct template file (chapter.fm, appendix.fm,  etc)
    3) Remap the old paragraph and character tags to the  new ones, preferably based on an internal predefined, hard-coded table, but  possibly using the "use a remapping table that is in another .fm file" method.   It's just that the latter method requires the user to open two more .fms in  addition to the several other template files they'll already (correct?) have to  have open.
    4) Report to the user all tags that are in their file  that are not in the new catalogs
Can you point me to pieces?  Write the whole thing?  Recommend someone who can?

Dave, if you haven't yet check it out, do visit the Framescript users group, here:
        http://groups.yahoo.com/group/framescript-users/
There are several folks who do contract FS work who post their contact info as part of that group (I believe there's a webring also). Also,  Rick Quatro has a good e-book "Crash Course" about learning FrameScript (although the book refers to an earlier version, almost all of the concepts are still applicable to the current versions of FS and FM) , check it out at
