Writing file with its output as html

Hello. I cannot seem to get my file written out as html. Can someone help me. My program compiles but thats about it.
import java.io.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class Olympic
static void showInput(String[] typeMedal,String[] first, String[] last, String[] country)
     String output = new String();
     String htmlHeader = new String("<HTML> <TITLE> <");
     String htmlTitle = new String("CIS 4150 Assignment 2");
String htmlBeginBody = new String("</TITLE> <BODY> ");
     String htmlTableHead = new String("<p> <table border = 2 cellpadding = 2> " +" <caption align = top>");
String htmlTableName = new String("MEDAL WINNERS");
     String htmlEndTags = new String("</table> </body></html>");
     try
     FileWriter medalWriter = new FileWriter("medal.htm"); // Create FileWriter
     BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(medalWriter); // Create BufferedWriter
     output = htmlHeader + htmlTitle + htmlBeginBody + htmlTableHead + htmlTableName;
     for(int n = 0; n < typeMedal.length;n++)
     output += "<tr>";
output += "<td>";
     output += typeMedal[n];
output += "</td>";
     output += "<td>";
     output += first[n];
     output += "</td>";
     output += "<td>";
     output += last[n];
     output += "</td>";
     output += "<td>";
     output += country[n];
     output += "</td>";
     output += "</tr>";
     output += htmlEndTags;
out.write(output); // Attempt to write the data to file
out.close();                          // Close Buffer
medalWriter.close();                // close writer
     catch(IOException e)
     System.out.println("\nI.O Exception");
     return;
static void showOutput(String outfile)
     try
     FileWriter file = new FileWriter(outfile);
     BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(file);
     out.write("\nThis is the output text");
     out.close();
file.close();
catch(IOException e)
     JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "IO Exception");
     return;

Do you perchance get an error like
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main

  • How to not append '.PART' to the file name of the currently downloading file, and just download the file with its normal filename

    In Windows, when Firefox (I'm currently using 7.0) downloads a file, it appends ''.PART'' to the file name of the currently downloading file and just renames it to its original file name after it finishes downloading.
    I sometimes like to watch a currently downloading video file, so it will be better if Firefox just downloads the file to its actual filename (like what Opera does), so I can easily double click the incompletely downloaded file and watch it with the video player assigned to that file extension, rather than the awkward ''Right click -> Open With -> Choose Default Program'' route with .part files.
    Does anyone know how to set Firefox to do this?

    It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox and prevents Firefox from renaming the .part file.
    Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
    See "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences - Windows"

  • Opening a file with its filename from a servlet- avoid buffer to cach files

    Hi,
    I am building an URL with the following code and calling that particular file from this servlet using request dispatcher. When I am geting alcCode from getParameter method then it is not caching the pages
    but when I am geting the same through a session value it starts caching the page after cirtain number of requests and shows up the previously requested file.
    I guess it is because it always names the file with the package name.
    for example if my package is sree then the file opened is named as
    sree[1].pdf. Please help me solve this problem

  • Transforming xml file with different elements into HTML

    hi all !
    i have an xml object that has been generated from database using java. the xml file has numerous elements that have been merged into single file. all elements have been got from different table :-
    <?xml version = '1.0' ?>
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW id= "1">
    <EMPID>1</EMPID>
    <EMPADDRESS>H 3 STREET 4</EMPADDRESS>
    <EMPPHONE>98764653</EMPPHONE>
    </ROW>
    <ROW id="2">
    <EMPID>5</EMPID>
    <EMPQUAL>GRADE 12</EMPQUAL>
    <EMPGRADE>A</EMPGRADE>
    </ROW>
    </ROWSET>
    (its just a sample data, might not be wel formed)
    as it shows that each element "ROW" has data corresponding to different employee and with different details. actually these elemnt are the updates in an employee profile that have to be communicated to a distant located database. what i need is a tranformation into HTML so that the recieving user can view this file as html with relative headings of corresponding tables.
    (the schema at both ends is exact replica)
    any help in this regards would be obliging.

    thank you bro!
    the xml file has been created by importing multiple files resulted from XSU into a master file in java. we are running a web based project in a distributed environment. so i would need to make this page appear in a web browser with ACCEPT and REJECT command buttons as the receiver is the approving agent. what all i have thought of so far is to create a style sheet with templates of all heading of each table from where the data is coming from and then run a check on what table the data is from and place that specific heading on the entry. the style sheet would be placed at both ends so only the xml file will be transported and transformation would be done auto.
    i hope it works. but am not sure wether its the right approach or not.

  • Imported files with stereo, output comes in one channel only

    While being no expert in Encore or the jungle of transcoding settings, I still dare to ask.
    I have imported a number of AVI files (exported with stereo sound from Ppro) into Encore 2.0. I have not touched any sound settings, but still my output (both in preview mode and the final DVD) produces sound only in the left channel. Baffeled as I am over this, I struggle to find some sensible explanation to the problem.
    Any feedback would be appreciated as the project hopefully goes into production soon.
    Brgds,
    Geir Waaler

    Ummm my apologies if I missed it, but Ive read through this thread and Im not sure if theres an answer to the original question. Ive got a similar situation, AVI out of PP3 with all sources stereo, the AVI sounds great in media player and is definitely stereo. Bring the AVI into Encore 2 and the resulting DVD is double mono using the left channel only heres the strange thing, I get the same results using Nero Vision Express. I am 100% sure the AVI is stereo, it includes clips from an old Beatles song where the old school stereo imaging put all of the vocals into the left channel and the instrumentals into the right, well, the instrumentals are gone on the DVD and Ive got nothing but vocals. Again, the AVI sounds fine, just for kicks I even burned the raw AVI to DVD and popped the disk into a set-top player and it played fine something is wrong with the transcoding and its a problem for both Encore and Nero. Any know whats up? Are we calling it a bug? Seems kind of serious if it is, the kind of bug that should keep a product from launching.

  • Writing file with windows 7 and vista os..

    hi,
    since i am using Windows XP operating system with Labview, i made a executable file and i trying to install with Windows 7 or Vista OS installed PC.
    when my device is detect it will gives the hardware information , that have to save in to the hard disk, where i am usually putting near to my Application
    program exe file. using XP will not be any problem its creates and writes the information file.
    for the Vista and windows 7 OS has a adminstrative writes it wont allow to create and write a new file where near to application exe file.
    is there any method has to set these file for administrative rights on Windows 7 and vista OS?
    i am using Labview 8.6 version
    Regards,
    Balaji DP

    You would need to log into the computer with an account that has administrative rights. Or, you could configure the application to run under the administrator account. Both of these are Windows operations.
    Or, you could fix your code so it doesn't do that.

    Now it shows the whole output in the command line and i want it to create an xml or html file and transfer the output into that file....How will i do it... Im using HTTPClient..

    Is the output already in the XML or HTML format you desire?
    If so you can just pipe it down to a file
    In DOS Command Prompt (i think that's what you are using) what you do is use the > sign like this
    dir > test.txt
    Instead of getting the dir listing in the screen, it's piped down to the file
    So what you do is
    java yourJavaFile > yourOutput.xml (this is the simplified version, put your flags and everything there, after your command add > and the file name)
    If you are using Unix/Linux systems, i think that the pipe command is || instead of >, but i'm not sure
    If the result is not in the format you need, then you'll have to open a FileWriter in your code, and just write the things down in a file, in the manner you want.

  • Loading Obj file with its .mtl

    Hai guys,
    I am new to java3D. I need to load the .obj which has the .mtl and the respective pics for its texture.(The .obj file .mtl and the relevant pics are all in the same folder) The Problem is obj file is being loaded but the output we got is no where near what we see in 3DMax. What is the problem?. Where i am going wrong.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Prakash Anandaraj. C

    D'Oh!
    First post, and already posted the wrong code...
    This is the right code, where I load the OBJ-Model:
    public void UseOBJModel(String path)
            ObjectFile loader = new ObjectFile();
            Shape3D shape = new Shape3D();
            try
                Scene tmpScene = loader.load(path);
                 Enumeration children = tmpScene.getSceneGroup().getAllChildren();
                 Shape3D tmp = (Shape3D)children.nextElement();
                 shape.setGeometry(tmp.getGeometry(),0);//This for killing the leading null in the GeometryList
                //Combining all Shape3Ds from the OBJ-Model into one single shape
                while(children.hasMoreElements())
                    tmp = (Shape3D)children.nextElement();
                     shape.addGeometry(tmp.getGeometry());
                //TODO: Hard setting of Color for OBJ-Shape.Can be improved later
                Appearance objApp = new Appearance();
                Material objMat = new Material();
                ColoringAttributes col = new ColoringAttributes();
                objMat.setAmbientColor(new Color3f(.3f,.3f,.3f));
                objMat.setDiffuseColor(new Color3f(.5f,.5f,.5f));
                objMat.setSpecularColor(new Color3f(.6f,.6f,.6f));
                objMat.setLightingEnable(true);
                objApp.setMaterial(objMat);
                objApp.setColoringAttributes(col);
                col.setColor(.6f,.6f,.6f);
                shape.setAppearance(objApp);
                SetOriginalShape(shape);
            catch(FileNotFoundException e)
                System.err.println("Something went wrong while loading OBJ-File");
        }Sorry...
