Writing items into listbox using win32com.client api in Python

Hi
I'm trying to add/remove an item into the listbox control of labview using the VI methods provided by pywin32 api for python..
I have tried the setControlValue method to add an item, but to no avail (vi.setControlValue('Listbox',<name of item>)).
I'm new to LabView, so perhaps I'm not getting the syntax or method right..It would really help if someone can help me solve this problem..

pywin32 won't help you here in any way. LabVIEW controls are not standard Windows windows (yes every Windows control is a window in itself) but entirely implemented in LabVIEW. The only Windows resources used by LabVIEW are the outermost window of each front panel and diagram window. Anything else is fully handled internally by LabVIEW.
Controlling a LabVIEW front panel from Python is definitely not the most simple thing to do. LabVIEW does have a so called VI server interface that can be access through ActiveX. It allows to do some things, but isn't generally the ideal way of allowing to remotely control a LabVIEW application.

We are trying to pull large amounts of data in project server 2013 using both client API and odata calls, but it seem to take a long time. How is this done
In project server 2010 we did this creating SQL views in both the reporting database and for list creating a view in the content database. Our IT dept is saying we can't do this anymore. How does a view in Project database or content database create issues?
As long as we don't add a field in the table. So how's one to do this with creating a view?

If you are using Project Server 2013 on premise I would recommend using T-SQL against the dbo. schema in the Project Web Database for your reports, this will be far quicker that the APIs. You can create custom objects in the dbo. schema, see the link below:

It is not supported to query the SharePoint content database directly with T-SQL or add any custom objects to the content database.

Using HFM Client API from FDM

"Unreadable" squares are probably an indication that you are seeing non-printable characters due to the fact that the data is in one format (i.e. Unicode) and you are attempting to treat it as a another data format (ASCII). You may need to instruct the function to return data in a particular type or cast the result so that you are processing it properly.
In regards to the wrapper, I think he's referring to the fact that vbscript doesn't support UDT's. (User Defined Types more commonly referred to as structs) You don't really need to wrap the API itself, rather create a COM object (or other) that would expose a property for each struct field. In the vbscript you would then create an instance to the object and use that with the API call.
In regards to webservices, HFM doesn't have much out of the box. The comment was to create your own, etc. About the only thing you have going for you OOTB is Smartview. Smartview doesn't technically have a web service; however, if you monitor the data that goes in and out of Smartview it is dirt simple. For more than one project, I've taken advantage of Smartview as a means to get quick and dirty data out of HFM.

I tried specifying 'Reply to Address' property in Normalized Message using BPEL Client API to receive response from Asynchronous BPEL process but it's not working.
I am facing the following situations:-
1.Just setting 'Reply To address'-raises
exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message transmission failure, response code: 500
2.Specifying both 'Reply to address' and 'Reply To PortType' is sending the entire process to an infinite wait state in receiving response from the worklist task service.
My BPEL process has a human worklist and this workflow on completion can't callback my BPEL process for carrying out Step -2 mentioned above.
Reply to Address = webservice SOAP endpoint URI
Reply to Porttype= the porttype name in the WSDL file.
Please any help will be appreciated.I have a project delivery.

The exception is coming after executing the login code (not login exception).We logged into our application using weblogic user(even for any other user in OID,shared by OIM, is having same behaviour). The code is being executed from integrated webogic server and oim_server is running on a different server under a separate domain.

Web services using OIM Client API.

Hi All,
decided to try out some webservices talking to OIM via the client api. have a few questions.
is it better if the webservice app server and the OIM ejb app server are the same? i.e. weblogic.
I noticed in some of the code that configurationclient is using "web-client" rather than "Discovery.Coreserver" as the first param. what's the difference?
Im currently using tomcat5 and java5 with xfire. and I think tomcat is not liking the weblogic jar. I could swap out the app server but would like to keep using java5 and xfire if that's possible.
curious to hear abut other setups.

I have a couple of clients using web services to expose OIM APIs. The most common approaches is to either use Apache Axis or the web service module in Websphere.
Perhaps you should try migrating to Apache Axis if your application server doesn't like the Weblogic jars?
I personally like Axis but that is mostly because I have used Axis a couple of times.

Can't move "completed" items into folders using Outlook 2013 on a Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Account using a work Exchange 2010 address

I've been in touch with several Microsoft support teams about this issue, and the latest move was to shove me off onto Pro support, but since I'm using a personal Office account, I'm hoping that through the community I can find a way to resolve this issue without
escalating through our IT department. I do not think this is an Exchange issues because I have previously used this product and method without resulting in this error on a Windows 7 32-bit AMD computer and a Windows 8 and 8.1 Professional 64-bit Intel computer.
Here's my current specs:

Here's how to reproduce the issue:
1) Open View Settings
2) Select "Other Settings..."
3) Disable "Use compact layout in widths smaller than XX characters" and enable "Always use single-line layout"
4) Select "Columns..."
5) Under "All Mail fields" add "In folder"
6) Select any email
7) Context-menu -> Find Related -> Emails in this Conversation
8) Select "more"
9) Sort by folder
10) Select all messages from Inbox.
11) Use Outlook's preset "Done" function and select a destination folder
12) Watch Outlook fail to run "Done" and reset your UI without producing an error.
The first attempt to resolve this issue was to set up a new Outlook profile. This seemed to exacerbate the problem and resulted in Outlook providing an "Unknown error" before resetting the UI.
The second attempt to resolve this issue was to run "outlook.exe /resetnavpane". However, the nav pane does not appear immediately relevant to this issue.
The following similar steps also result in a crash, this time with an error:
11) Flag all select message as Complete.
12) Move all messages from Inbox to a destination folder.
This change in procedure results in the error "Cannot move the items. Some items cannot be moved. They were either already moved or deleted, or access was denied."

You'll need to save the calendar as an ics file to import it. Select the calendar folder, the File, Save as an save as an ics.

Retrieving suitcase jar back from BPEL PM using 'java client api' ?

I have ANT based TeamFoundationServer auto builds working for BPEL workflow. I also have custom ANT tasks that call oracle bpel java API to be able to clearWSDL cache in various non-production environments.
I would now like to attempt retrieving suitcase jar that was deployed previously. Before describing any further, I guess, my first question would be whether this is a possible thing to do.
While browsing the JAVA API , I came across a method in class --> IBPELDomainHandle ( getSuitcase ) that seem to be returning back byte[] if the suitcaseId was provided to it.
If below approach is in right direction, what else could I be missing ? Once , below class begins to retrieve the suitcase jar, the goal is to package it in an already existing jar and make it part of regular auto builds ( using ANT 1.6.5's custom task) hosted on windows 2003 server.

Problem in displaying items into listbox

I've a listbox in my page.It will display data from database.
But problem starts from here.I have a DAO class in which i am getting list of filters from database and storing it into a DTO.Now how can i display values from that DTO into my listbox.
Kindlly tell me soon, because it is very urgent requirement for my project.

Hi Praddy,
My advice is to take a look at the default.trc file in the logs folder of the server. Hopefully there will be move information in there that will tell you more about the problem. The error message that is displayed on the screen to the user is not very useful - there should be more info in the trace file.

Do you want the numbers in the file to be human readable ASCII?
Then you'll need to convert your coun to a string.
declare another variable of type line (type access to string).
do a write() to the line, then a writeline() to the file.
natural'image(coun) will convert coun to a string.
Google should help you find example code that will help.

Importing pictures into SAP using DTW

Hello all
I am trying to import pictures of Items into SAP using DTW.
I am using the Items template and putting the file path (e.g. C:\Projects\P29280\Admin\Item pics\Picture29.jpg) of the picture in the Picture field. At the moment the pictures are on the C drive of the server but even when I put them in the shared SAP folder they still dont import. The DTW import runs the import and there are no errors (i.e. it says that the update is successful) but when I go into SAP - the pics are not there....
Hmmmn... one wonders...as one does.
Can anyone who has done this before help me out?

p.s. I have also tried putting the file path in the ValidRemarks field but that doesnt work either .

Hi Greeshma,
the import of picture it self into the database is not possible. SAP only stores the path and the file name. You need to set up the standard path under general settings (Make sure it is not a local path!). Then you could import the pictures by using the file name (no path is needed) and afaik it is case sensitive. Put the pictures into the set path.

Hi, I have a calendar which contains many to-do items with dates. I would like to have these to do items become events. Is there anyway to have ical automatically convert these to-do items into events using a script or plug-in?

Try this. I suggest you save it in ~/Library/Scripts, so that it will be accessible from the drop-down scripts menu. I also suggest that you try it before using it seriously - in iCal, use File/Backup database, then if you don't like what happens, use File/Revert. Feel free to ask questions!

How to access a sharepoint site via the REST API in Python?

I have the following site:

When I access this from the browser, it prompts me for the username and password and then works fine. However I am trying to do the same using the REST API in Python. I am using the requests library, and this is what I have done:

Try adding the auhenticatig domain to the username. That may help.

I am using JSP to generate Employee payslip dynamically. Presently i am diplaying payslip as on-screen display.
Here i want to give option "Save as PDF". I am able to create PDF file using IText Libraries. i want to integrate HTML code into the PDF file.

Well it is a difficult ask and i believe we are trying to re-invent the wheel
Just to make my life simple i could have choosen either sample API given below to serve my cause
1).[http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/] (Apache FOP one can simply write an XSL template of their and then substitute the values from respective DTO's by using XSL - XML transformations and can generate content in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
2).[http://jasperforge.org/plugins/project/project_home.php?group_id=102] (Just design a simple report template using iReport and create a jrxml files and write a small code snipett such that you can pass few details at the runtime and can export the report in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
3).[http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreereport/] (Is much similar to what jasper offers in order to compile these you can either use pentaho product IDE or BEA/Oracle Actuate report tools)
You can simply try searching for different examples for getting more help on using the respective API's
