Wrong conversion of HTML charset in background

Maybe it's better if I use a new topic for this issue, already present in "HTML attachment in a mail"
Hi all,
I'm using 4.7 and in a workflow for travel requests I use a custom method to send an html mail containing the TR overview: if I send this html mail from SWO1 everything is ok, but when the workflow sends it in background there's always an unwanted conversion from charset UTF-8 to iso-8859-1 with changes in background color and font size.
I've tried to set the charset UTF-8 in SCOT but nothing changes and check for OSS notes 661704 , 865885, 887633, 873845, 888518 but these are already installed.
Any help, please? It's urgent.
Thanks and regards.
Angelo

I use the standard function module FITP_ITINERARY_TRIP_HTML to get the travel request overview in HTML and, writing some text files on the AS, I noticed that this FM returns the wrong charset (ISO-8859-1,the default one,and not UTF-8) in background.
It uses dynamic documents.
Regards,
Angelo

    I am facing issues in searching, my managed metadata service is not running, search results page throws internal error. Any Idea why this above error comes.
    P.S: We use windows authentication in our environment.

    Hi IMSunny,

    Hi,
    I don't know if this can help you, but I had a similar problem while invoking a web service. Eventually, I found out that the server was returning an html error page, and not the expected xml answer.
    That's why the client code raises such an error... It means that the MIME type of the anser is text/html (for the html page) and not the text/xml type of the 'nominal' web service answer.
    You can verify this by using a proxy to intercept the http request and answer involved in this web service invocation (use Fiddler for instance). Then, you will see that the server responds by sending an html page saying that something is wrong.
    Hope this helps...

    This works fine as it appears on this webpage.
    I have tried to adapt it to act as a proxy to a secure version of Hello EJB that runs on the SSL port of glassfish AS.
    To do this I edited the EJB to set up the security properties. Edited the BPEL wsdl file and created a new composite application using the updated BPEL project.
    This leads to an Unsupported Content-Type exception when a test case is run on the composite application from SOAP-UI
    Does anyone know how I can explicitly set the content type of the proxied request to the secure WS?
    Thanks

    Jossarm/Jeff,
    The Cryptography forum is not the right forum for this question; have you tried posting to the Glassfish forum on java.net?
    But, here is what I think the problem might be:
    SOAP-based web-service security uses XML Signature and XML Encryption to secure the message - not SSL; as a result it uses text/xml at the start of its message (which is what SOAP messages are). SSL assumes that the secure session has been established and all messages thereafter, are expected to begin with text/html (as expected in HTTP). You cannot mix-and match this - unless the service is an HTTP-based service that expects a SOAP-based message embedded in the HTTPRequest.

    generally HTTP500 error would generate ABAP dumpt - check txn ST22.
    other thing i have noticed is SAPDEV:8000
    you have set up FQDN (fully qualified domain name) for web applications to work properly.
    for more on FQDN check this.

    Hi, Jorgan, welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
    What version of Safari are you using? I am having no problems on any of the pages I have tried using Safari 2.0.3 under OS X 10.4.4. I have only browsed through the site, I have not tried filling out any forms.
    The first place I would look is at the results of putting your pages through the W3C Validator to see if they meet accepted html/xhtml standards. Your Home Page fails with a number of errors listed. Safari is one of the least forgiving of browsers when it comes to rendering non-standard, bad, or incorrect coding of web pages.

  • How to  get rid of "Content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Set-Cookie..." ?

    Hi
    I have several applications and I am working on making some kind of APEX "SSO".
    An user is authentified in one application. Then he may go to another application. The cookie has the same name from one application to another. The session ID is preserved from one application to another : i use this kind of URL : "f?p=109:1:&SESSION.:"
    I have seen that I need to authentify automatically the user when he swap to another application. For that i have a process in the welcome page that authentify the user, using the :app_user and the password, a PL/SQL after header:
    wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login(
        P_UNAME       => :APP_USER,
        P_PASSWORD    => :P1_PASSWORD,
        P_SESSION_ID  => v('APP_SESSION'),
        P_FLOW_PAGE   => :APP_ID||':1'
        );So far so good. User is authenticated. The problem I face is that this message appears :
    Content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Set-Cookie: TELEGESTION_AUTH=-1; path=/; Location: /pls/apex/f?p=109:1How to get rid of this message ?

    Hi
    Have you tried using "f?p=109:1:&APP_SESSION.:" instead of "f?p=109:1:&SESSION.:".
    I don't see why you need to reauthenticate if they're in the same workspace?

    Does anyone have any tips on how I would go about finding something like this?If it's included within the <tt>body</tt> element in the original page source then it's produced by something in APEX and the position in the source will give a clue as to where. You should also run the page in Debug mode and look at the trace to see if there's any clues there.
    If it's visible in the generated page source but not the original then it's produced by something dynamic in the page. Possibly some JS lingering from the previous theme?

        <p> </p>
        <p>No visit to San Francisco is complete without a ride on the iconic  cable cars that climb up the vertiginous hills of the city. Of the  twenty-three lines established between 1873 and 1890, three remain:  two routes from downtown near Union Square to <a href="http://www.fishermanswharf.org/">Fisherman's Wharf</a>, and  a third route along California Street.</p>
        <p> </p>
        <p>The cable cars rely on cables running constantly beneath the  road&rsquo;s surface. The driver—or gripman—uses a lever to grip the  cable to pull the car and its passengers up the hill. The gripman  requires not only great strength, but also great skill. He needs to  know where to release the cable to coast over crossing cables and  points. The conductor works in close cooperation with the gripman,  operating the brake at the rear of the car to prevent it from running  out of control on the downward slopes.</p>

        <p>Although the cable cars are now mainly a tourist attraction,  they&rsquo;re still used by local commuters to get to and from work. The  California Street line is particularly popular among commuters on  weekdays.</p>

        <h2>Cable  Car Tips</h2>
        <p> </p>
        <p>A single ride on a cable car costs $6. If you plan to travel  around the city, it&rsquo;s often cheaper to buy a Muni Passport, which  gives you unlimited rides on San Francisco&rsquo;s extensive public  transport system, including the cable cars (but not the <a href="http://www.bart.gov/">BART</a> subway  system). Even a single-day passport ($14) will save you money if you  make a return trip, and stop off to visit Chinatown one way.</p>
        <p> </p>
        <p>There are often long lines at the cable car terminus, particularly  on the Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde routes. If you don&rsquo;t want to  wait, try walking a few stops along the route. The conductor usually  leaves a small number of places to pick up passengers on the way. The  California Street route is generally less crowded (but not as  spectacular).</p>

  • EMail report in HTML format in Background

    Hi all,
    We have a report which sends the output in HTML format to the internet email address. We use the function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 for doing this.
    When we are executing this in foreground the entire output is available in the HTML file, but when we execute this in background only the last page of the spool request is sent in the HTML file. Please help us in what way we can avoid this.
    There are 5 pages in the report. Please advise us what exactly has to be done.
    Thanks in advance.
