Wrong result with SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE

Hi All,
If you write a query with spatial condition using the SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE operator and if, in your table there are polylines that have any two consecutive points that are identical, then, the result of the query is inexact. It seems that these polylines are queried on the primary filter only and the secondary filter is ignored.
Is this bug a known bug and how is it possible to fix it?
Thanks
Hugues

Hello,
It's not easy to send a sample, but easy to reproduce. As I said any two points have to be consecutive on a polyline.
As they are consecutice, when validating the geometry, the following Oracle error pops up:
"ORA-13356 adjacent points in a geometry are redundant"

    This should not result in any results but it does show the record out.
    What is it we have to do deal with the word "ME". It works fine for any other values.

    Since "me" is a default stopword, searching for "me" and "Victor" is like just searching for "Victor", so it returns the row with "Victor" in it. If you want to be able to search for "me", then you need to either remove "me" from your existing ctxsys.default_stoplist using ctx_ddl.remove_stopword or specify another stoplist during index creation that does not contain me or an empty stoplist. You will need to drop and recreate your index after changing or modifying stoplists in order for the changes to take effect. Please see the demonstration below. I have added a couple of rows so that it is clearer what is and is not returned. You can check the token_text column of your dr$...$i index to see what it is tokenized, indexed, and searchable.

  • Content Search Web Part displaying wrong Results for anonymous Users.

    HI Forum Group,
    I am getting Wrong results for my content search web part. The requirement is to show the News Description for the selected news item.
    I have a catalog site which stores News like
    News1
    News2
    News3
    as Items. and i have connected this catalog in publishing site which is anonymous. In the publishing site created one page "News.aspx"added search results webpart which shows all the news item. Added one page "Description.aspx" to show
    description to show the selected news item.
    When ever user selects any news from news.aspx page it will redirected to description.aspx with the selected item ID
    The "Description.aspx" the search results page gets the data based on the URL by QueryString parameter as shown below
    The problem is, if i multiple items to open in tabs all the items are showing the data same as the first selected item, though the article ID is different.
    Thanks

  • NOT IN operator giving the wrong results

    DB version:10gR2
    Why is NOT IN giving the wrong results. Isn't NOT EXISTS operator a flawless alternative to NOT IN?
    create table my_table1 (col1 number);
    insert into my_table1 values (1);
    insert into my_table1 values (2);
    commit;
    create table my_table2 ( col1 number);
    insert into my_table2 values (1);
    commit;
    select * from my_Table1;
           COL1
              1
              2
    select * from my_table2;
           COL2
              1
      --correct result
      SELECT * FROM my_table1 t1 WHERE NOT EXISTS
    (SELECT * FROM my_table2 t2 WHERE t1.col1 = t2.col1)
           COL1
              2
    ---correct result using IN
    SELECT * FROM my_table1 t1 where col1 not in (select col1 FROM my_table2 t2);
           COL1
              2
    Inserting a NULL to my_Table2
    Now the query using NOT IN is returning wrong results.
    insert into my_table2 values (null);
    commit;
    SELECT * FROM my_table1 t1 where col1 not in (select col1 FROM my_table2 t2);
    no rows selected
    Query using NOT EXISTS is still giving the right results.
    SELECT * FROM my_table1 t1 WHERE NOT EXISTS
       (SELECT * FROM my_table2 t2 WHERE t1.col1 = t2.col1);
           COL1
              2

    can i use NOT EXISTS(with a proper Co-related subquery) as a safe alternative to NOT IN?Depends on your data and what you need to achieve.
    Personally I avoid using NOT EXISTS or NOT IN if I can really help it.
    My preferred method is to outer join the tables together and then remove any resultant rows where a value exists and I didn't want one. ;)

  • Inconsistent results with localtimestamp and current_timestamp

    TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    I'm getting incorrect and inconsistent results with current_timestamp and localtimestamp:
    With SQL, localtimestamp computes the wrong offset (appears to use 1987-2006 DST rules):
    select
    dbtimezone
    , sessiontimezone
    , current_timestamp
    , current_timestamp + numtodsinterval(18,'day') as current_timestamp18

    17-MAR-10 09.27.17.376000000 AM
    however, in PL/SQL, both current_timestamp and localtimestamp return the wrong hour value, and adding 18 to current_timestamp shows it is using 1987-2006 DST rules (1st sunday of april)/ note that this happens in straight PL/SQL and in embedded SQL (same results selecting from tables other than DUAL):
    begin

    is this a known bug?
    is there a patch or a work-around for XE?
    are other datasbase versions affected?

    Can't patch XE, unfortunately it comes with pre-2007 DST rules.
    There is a metalink note describing how to fix the DST changes, and while it's not really a "supported" method, neither is XE- if you can get updated timezone files from a later patch set for the same release, 10gR2, on the right operating system, shutdown/startup the database the updated DST rules will be in place. The timezone files are in $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/zoneinfo.
    Another unfortunately, any values already stored in the database using timestamp with local timezone datatypes for the affected period of the DST changes won't be correct, i.e. there is no 2010-03-14 02:01 (?) but with older timezone rules in place that would be a valid timestamp. The data has to be saved before updating the timezone file, and re-translated to timestamp w/local tz datatypes after the update.
    IMHO storing literal timezone info isn't an ideal practice, let the client settings do the time interpretation, time is always changing. Its the interpretation of the time that gets changed. From time to time. :(

    The following test case is supplied in the metalink in bug no. 2871341, the base bug for this bug is 2679062.
    REPRODUCIBILITY:

    The following is published in the 9.2.0.4 fixed bug list:

    I have installed 9.2.0.4 patch set on a win 2000 machine Oracle and saw that the above case is actually solved but our application which has a very similar case doesn't.

    create or replace view t1 as select * from t1_1 union all select * from t1_2;

    Hi,
    The following test case is supplied in the metalink in bug no. 2871341, the base bug for this bug is 2679062.
    REPRODUCIBILITY:
    Reproduces constantly with simple test case below:
    TEST CASE:
    DROP TABLE A1
    CREATE TABLE A1 (X1 VARCHAR2(10), X2 VARCHAR2(10))
    REM *********** Create the second table: ***************
    DROP TABLE A2
    CREATE TABLE A2 (X1 VARCHAR2(10), X2 VARCHAR2(10))
    INSERT INTO A1 VALUES ('1','2');
    INSERT INTO A2 VALUES ('3','4');
    COMMIT;
    CREATE INDEX A1_X1 ON A1(X1 );
    CREATE INDEX A1_X2 ON A1(X2);
    CREATE INDEX A2_X1 ON A2(X1);
    CREATE INDEX A2_X2 ON A2(X2);
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW A_ALL AS SELECT * FROM A1 UNION ALL SELECT * FROM A2;
    ANALYZE TABLE A1 COMPUTE STATISTICS;
    ANALYZE TABLE A2 COMPUTE STATISTICS;
    SELECT * FROM A_ALL;
    SELECT * FROM A_ALL WHERE (X1='1' AND X2='2') ;
    SELECT * FROM A_ALL WHERE ((X1='1' AND X2='2') OR (X1='3' AND X2='4'));
    The 2nd query returns answer while the second is not !
    The following is published in the 9.2.0.4 fixed bug list:
    " 9204 - 2679062 - Wrong results possible from multi-column INLIST "
    I have installed 9.2.0.4 patch set on a win 2000 machine Oracle and saw that the above case is actually solved but our application which has a very similar case doesn't.
    After investigating I found the following test case that fails, it reproduces only when you have index on all columns (covering index):
    drop table t1_1;
    drop table t1_2;
    create table t1_1(c1 number, c2 number, c3 number);
    create table t1_2(c1 number, c2 number, c3 number);
    create index t1_1_ix on t1_1(c1, c2, c3);
    create index t1_2_ix on t1_2(c1, c2, c3);
    create or replace view t1 as select * from t1_1 union all select * from t1_2;
    insert into t1_1 values(1, 2, 100);
    insert into t1_2 values(1, 2, 200);
    commit;
    analyze table t1_1 compute statistics;
    analyze table t1_2 compute statistics;

  • [HELP] AGO function return wrong result

    Hi, i try to implement ago function in OBIEE, but the result is not as expected. Please help me to configure Time Dimension to get this work.
    My case:
    - I have a time dimension with this configuration:
    [http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/necrombi/NEO/1-1.png]
    Time Hierarchy: Total > Year > Quarter > Month > Day
    Year:
    Primary key: Calendar_year_cal_year_code
    Chronological key: Does not define
    Quarter:
    Primary key: Calendar_quarter_description
    Chronological key: Does not define
    Month:
    Primary key: Calendar_month_description
    Chronological key: Calendar_month_description
    Day:
    Primary key: Dimension_key
    Chronological key: Day_day_code
    My ago function: AGO(expression, mywh.D_qn_thoigianDim."month", 1)
    I do not understand why i get this wrong results:
    [http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/necrombi/NEO/2.png]
    Does anyone know how to solve this?

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
    I implemented Time dimension with your recommend, and have time dimension like this:
    Time Hierarchy: Total > Year > Quarter > Month > Day
    Year:
    Primary key: Calendar_year_start_date
    Chronological key: Calendar_year_start_date
    Quarter:
    Primary key: Calendar_quarter_start_date
    Chronological key: Calendar_quarter_start_date
    Month:
    Primary key: Calendar_month_start_date
    Chronological key: Calendar_month_start_date
    Day:
    Primary key: Day
    Chronological key: Dimension_key
    And Ago function works fine with month level: AGO(expression, mywh.D_qn_thoigianDim."month", n)
    But return sum result of 12 month with: AGO(expression, mywh.D_qn_thoigianDim."year", 1)
    In my case, i just use AGO(expression, mywh.D_qn_thoigianDim."month", 12) to get year ago value. But i still don't understand clearly about OBIEE Time Serries functions.
    Thanks,

  • Pathfinder produces very wrong results. Long time Illy user. **URGENT**

    Running Mac 10.10.1 (newest Yosemite)
    Adobe CC
    PROBLEM #1
    Recently when performing a simple "minus front" with two objects, I get very wrong results. See image below. I created icons that are knocking out the BG behind it. Had no problems with the others until I got to the fork. I created the fork using rectangles, and the new direct select to create round corners feature. I can work around this problem by creating an opacity mask on the BG and pasting in the icon at full black. However, when I import that into inDesign, the fork still shows as it's original color. Ok fine. I can export from AI as a .png and avoid it. But that's a pain, and CC has already been pushing my buttons this week. And I'd rather just figure out the why.
    I also rasterized the fork icon in AI, then performed an image trace to vectorize it again - in hopes that this would be a magical fix. It was not. It ended up being a worse result than before, after using minus front.
    PROBLEM #2
    I found that if I alt-drag these elements, and then perform the minus front, I get very close to what is expected. However, this is where it gets really weird. Once I drag the newly created shape around my artboard, the area that had the minus front performed on it, begins to change. See the pictures below picture one for reference. What the eff. This is really confusing.
    Any help would be great. I am putting together a branding guidelines tonight for my client and this happens to be one of those little snags.
    Thanks
    Problem 1 picture - left side is after minus front
    Problem 2 pictures - after minus front, and moved around a few times

    You've got the Align-to-Pixel Grid turned on and are not using whole pixels for your objects.

  • Please Help Urgent:Fast Search returning wrong result sets

    Hi All,
    We are facing below issue with fast search.
    Currently in My project  when  we are searching  for a phrase it is returning wrong result sets.
    For example if we search for “Endura”, It is returning documents related to
    Endura  as well as Centura.
    But the expected results are only Endura documents.
    When we look in to the documents we didn’t find the search term (“Endura” ) either inside document content or in its meta data.
    In order to resolve the issue we tried the below steps
    1-
    We manually edited and saved the document, to ensure the appropriate Guid association to metadata.
    2-
    Index reset
    3-
    Full crawl
    But no luck  so far.
    Please help.Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Subrat

    Subrat,
    This may be related to spellchecking or may be synonym. Spellcheck is based on indexed terms.
    The best test would be to run the queries from qrserver (13280) and then look at the spellcheck query transformations. If spellchecking is not doing it, then you must have a synonym setup .Check your keyword/synonyms from the SharePoint side.

  • Getting result with single query

    Hi,
    I'm using db 10.2.0.1.0
    I have a table emp_shift , with data like below
    EmpCode           Shift     Effdate            Default
    1                 SHFT1    02-jan-2012          N
    1                 SHFT2    04-jan-2012          Y
    1                 SHFT3    04-jan-2012          NSo if user inputs EmpCode and Effdate, based on that i've to take the latest record, with default = 'Y' (if any) else default 'N'
    Suppose
    Case 1 : Input Empcode:1 Date:10-jan-2012
    Then i should get the below record
    1                 SHFT2    04-jan-2012          YCase 2 : Input Empcode:1 Date:03-jan-2012
    Then i should get the below record
    1                 SHFT1    02-jan-2012          NI want this result with a single query, is this possible?
    Thanks

  • Getting poor results with Refine Edge tool

    Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue. But after following numerous tutorials on lynda.com as well as tv.adobe.com and youtube, I just can't get good selection results using the Refine Edge tool in Photoshop CC and I'm convinced it's something I'm doing wrong, but I have no idea what.
    After downloading this Wikipedia image of Bismarck for a history documentary, I tried isolating the figure from the background using Refine Edge and keep getting poor results. Maybe it's my settings, I'm just not sure. But after painting over my edges, I end up with terrible results. Unfortunately, I'm getting poor results with other images as well. Can anyone venture to guess what I might be doing wrong? Thanks very much in advance.

    Hi ninose11,
    For this type of project and idea, I would recommend trying some of the magnetic lasso tool. The tool is located as the third tool in the toolbar (you should see a lasso or rope looking icon), hold down the icon and it should expand - then select the magnetic lasso tool. The magnetic lasso tool will allow you to scroll over the edge of his profile and it will automatically detect the outline edges. The slower you roll-over the shape the higher the accuracy will be. If the magnet is not detecting a particular edge or sharp corner (for example, the ear) you can manually drop points by simply right-clicking at any point during the selection. If the edge is too sharp, you can also create a light feather which will blend the edge softly (this should be located at the top).
    If this is unsuccessful still, you can try selecting by color, using the Magnetic Wand Tool (forth icon in the toolbar, again hold down for all options). Once you are using the magnetic wand tool, you should be able to select all the black areas of the background to delete. You can increase or decrease the tolerance to change the sensitivity of the selection.
    Hope this helps!
