  • ADF Faces: How do I set values for input controls in an af:table

    Use case: user enters master/detail information into an input form using an af:table for the desired number of detail rows.
    I have an ADF Faces input form with master level input controls, and an af:table (bound to a backing bean CoreTable) for the detail data set.
    The input controls are value bound to updateable view objects built from entity objects, with the appropriate view links providing master/detail iterators.
    Once the user has entered the master keys (via inputTexts, and selectOneChoices), I create a row in the detail VO, thus creating a visible blank row in the af:table.
    The user then completes the key for the detail row (in the af:table) by selecting a value in a selectOneChoice (in a af:column) with autoSubmit on and a valueChangeListener that sets the VO row attribute with the new value.
    The user then continues to enter into the remaining inputTexts and selectOneChoices in the af:columns until all values have been entered.
    I do not have autoSubmit on for any input controls in the af:columns other than the key, for performance improvement.
    The user can then use a command button (which has an action method) to create another row in the af:table.
    But, (in the action method) I need to set the values for the 1st detail VO row attributes, from the input controls, before creating another row.
    The input controls are bound to backing bean CoreInputText and CoreSelectOneChoice objects, and they have not set their values at this point, even though I have partialSubmit on for the "New Row" command button.
    I do not value bind the input controls in the af:columns to the backing bean objects, because we need to display data for all rows entered into the af:table.
    Any advice on the best way to perform this operation would be very appreciated!!!!

    Thanks for the reply Steve!!
    Yes, I followed the techniques in Screencast#7, and it works great in my edit page.
    But I am having problems with my input form.
    I actually have master/detail/detail relationship for which I am creating an input form.
    I created the input form as a copy of the edit form, and am making revisions as necessary.
    I created new view objects for the input form (from my three entity objects), which have the "Tuning" set to retrieve "No Rows (i.e. used only for inserting new rows)"
    I added an invokeAction that binds the "CreateInsert" action on the master iterator, so when the page is first displayed, the master level controls are available for data entry (as in 13.6.2 in the Developers Guide): but the first level detail controls are not rendered, and the af:table (for the second level detail) is rendered but with no rows.
    Once the user enters key values for the master (a three part key), I manually create a first level detail row by executing the "CreateInsert" action binding for the first level detail iterator.
    Continuing on, the user then enters a key value for the first level detail I manually create a second level detail row using it's "CreateInsert" action binding.
    Now the user has a form with all master and first level detail controls completed and one empty row in the af:table for it's first entry.
    The key column in the af:table has autoSubmit on, and an value change listener. That listener uses it's getNewValue() to set the key value ("locationCode" in this case) using
    setLocationCode from the ViewRowImpl. Here is that value change listener:
    public void locationChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {
    if (null != event.getNewValue()) {
    LocObsCreateViewRowImpl locCreateRow = (LocObsCreateViewRowImpl)appMod.findViewObject("LocObsCreateView").getCurrentRow();
    if (null == locCreateRow.getLocationCode()) {
    locCreateRow.setLocationCode(event.getNewValue().toString());
    Now comes my problem: once they have entered the values in the remaining columns, they can use a command button to create another row in the 2nd detail iterator, thus creating another visible empty row in the af:table. But the values from the first row (other than the key column) are not assigned to the row in the collection and I can't figure out how to set values in the collection's row.
    I imagine I'm missing something using bindings and the Request Processing Lifecycle, and after reading this I can see how much manual work is going on.
    The users have specified the need to have all information available on one page, so I've designed it so they can insert and iterate through the first level detail collection.
    They have also asked to not use the mouse; they are looking for a "heads-down-data-entry" system.
    Again, I really appreciate any advice you could give.

  • How to set default values for inputs?

    I have several inputs which are always initialized with 0 when I start the VI. I'd like save own default values for them. I've already tried just setting the numbers and saving the VI but it did not work.

            If you want to make any data in any controls, Arrays you can right click on it select >Data operations>Make current values default or you can select EDIT in tool bar, click on Make current values Default.
    First, enter the data you want in the control or array and then follow the things Geeta said.
    Post if any other help required.

  • How to set default values for boolean columns

    I'm trying to deploy some content types and columns into a site with a feature. All it's ok, except that I'm trying to set a default value for boolean columns with no success.
    I've tried to set default value at column level:
    <Field ID="{EFE23A1D-494E-45cf-832E-45E41B17F0CF}" Name="ScopeSpanish" DisplayName="Se publican noticias en español"
    Type="Boolean" Hidden="FALSE" Group="Columnas ShaCon" >
    <Default>TRUE</Default>
    </Field>
    and at content type level:
    <FieldRef ID="{EFE23A1D-494E-45cf-832E-45E41B17F0CF}" Name="ScopeSpanish" DefaultValue="TRUE" Required="TRUE" />
    But in any case, when i create a new item with this content type, default value is applied.
    Can anyone tell how to set default values for boolean columns?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sergio

    In the field definition you can set
    <Default>1</Default>
    or
    <Default>0</Default>
    How to set the default value Null?

  • How to define a Value for an Attribute of an Class

    Hi,
    How to define a Value for an Attribute of a Class ...
    ( I need to change the value of an Attribute of a class in standard program ....
    Ex...
       cl_hrce_masterswitches=>infotype_framework_is_active
    Here infotype_framework_is_active is the attribute .. its value in standard program is 'X'... Now i need to change it as '  '.
    How to define it and set value as ' '.

    Hello Surendar
    The static attribute INFOTYPE_FRAMEWORK_IS_ACTIVE is read-only and there is not SETTER method to manipulate its value.
    However, the attribute is filled in the CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR:
    METHOD class_constructor.
        IF ce_is_active                 = true OR
           global_payroll_is_active     = true OR
           mngmt_global_empls_is_active = true.
          infotype_framework_is_active = true.
          perid_infotype_is_active     = true.
        ELSE.
          infotype_framework_is_active = false.
          perid_infotype_is_active     = false.
        ENDIF.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Thus, you need to analyze how attribute CE_IS_ACTIVE, GLOBAL_PAYROLL_IS_ACTIVE and MNGMT_GLOBAL_EMPLS_IS_ACTIVE are filled in the CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR.
    For sure you will find customizing settings that are responsible for this.

    you can also acheive this using MERGE( available in sql 2008 and above).
    also, you are referring to DTS. DTS is legacy solution now..are you using sql 2000,  you can use ssis, if you want and it available in sql 2005. as said, there are multiple ways you can do this.. it find the below one a easy solution, since your are
    talking about only one table..
    try this example..
    create table test1(sno int primary key,sname varchar(20),scity varchar(20))
    go
    create table test2(sno int primary key,sname varchar(20),scity varchar(20))
    go
    insert into test1
    values(1,'stan','atlanta'),(2,'william','newyork')
    go
    insert into test2
    values(1,'robin','orlando')
    go
    --set this in you sql job and let it run for every half an hour
    MERGE test2 t2
    USING test1 t1
    ON t2.sno = t1.sno
    WHEN MATCHED THEN
    UPDATE

    WHEN NOT MATCHED by target THEN

  • How to calculate acquisition value for specified day

    Hi,
    in my z program I have a problem how to calculate acquisition value for my asset for specified day.
    Example:
    I have asset created 8.7.2008 with TTYPE 104 (External asset acquisition) with value 5950.
    30.11.2008 there is another TTYPE 272 (Retirement of current-yr acquis., w/o revenue) with value 950.
    So BEFORE 30.11.2008 acquisition value is 5950. After is 5000. Is there any function module (or something else) in SAP system where I can send asset number and date a it return to me acquisition value for that day?
    Many thanks for any answer!

    Hi,
    your suggestion means that I have to compute acquisition value by myself (sum all TTYPE 1** - sum all TTYPE 2**). So SAP does't provide such functionality (LDB ADA have it, because it can compute acquisitiob value for specific day)?
    Mant thanks for answer

    Yes, to simplify, I left out some of the additional XML data, which is typically present, sorry for any confusion. I should have removed those references to that data in my example which was failing to retrieve the NCESCode data which was denoted by that namespace.
    Thank you very much! Your correction worked. I was not understanding until your correction how to properly reference in the XPATH for that namespace value. I'm a newbie at this, and this is my second post. But I've been able to populate quite a few relational tables and that was the first of several namespace tags I will have to deal with next, and with that help, I should be good with that syntax now.
    Thanks again for your help on this.

  • How to assign a value for Unit of measure (like PC, KG...) in ABAP program?

    Hi,
        How to assign a value for Unit of measure (like PC, KG...) in ABAP program?
        I want to assign PC in a field to execute the program, like wa-ENTRY_UOM = 'pc'.
        But the system returen a message that "Unit of measure  is not convertible to stockkeeping unit PC"
        Could anyone tell me how to assign the value??
        Thanks!

    hi,
    first convert the quantity in the same unit  ( like in you case ST to PC )  by using FM :    MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT
    CALL FUNCTION 'MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT'
        EXPORTING
          i_matnr                    = matnr
          i_in_me                    = entry_uom
          i_out_me                   = out_uom
          i_menge                    = quantity
       IMPORTING
         E_MENGE                     = fp_l_v_quant
       EXCEPTIONS
         ERROR_IN_APPLICATION       = 1
         ERROR                      = 2
         OTHERS                     = 3.
      IF sy-subrc <> 0.
              give error message here
       ENDIF.
    bcoz in ur program somewhere the quantities etc are compared and there units may be different... so that is why it is showing such error.  so just convert convert the quantity in the same unit  .

  • How to bind values for input parameters from an adf table?

    Hi,
    The version I am using is
    Jdev TP4 11.1.1.0.0
    I need to know how to bind values for input parameters to methods.
    I have created an af:table and I have a button created using a method which is outside the af:table. This method needs to take input parameter values from the column values in the table.
    When I have an adf form instead of the table the binding works.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Hi Balaji,
    you need to bind you table to a backing bean and call a method in the backing bean when you hit the button. In the method you get the selected row from the table and have access to the columns of it. Then call the the method with the parameters.
    To bind the table to a bean select the properties of the table, go to behavior section and look for the advanced section 'Binding' property.
    Select the small down arrow at the right side and click edit. In the dialog select or create a bean and property for the table.
    Go to the button properties, look for 'Action', again select the small down arrow and click 'Edit'. Select the bean which holds the table property and create a method for the button.
    The method look like    public void bearbeitenQuelle(ActionEvent actionEvent)
            // Add event code here...
            RichTable lTable = getYourTable();
            Object lData = lTable.getSelectedRowData();
            FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding lNB = (FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding) lData;
            YourViewRow lRow = (YourViewRow ) lNB.getCurrentRow();
        }Hope the get you started

  • How to set defalut values for html:radio

    You may have more luck if you ask this Struts specific question in a forum devoted to Struts at their own homepage over there at apache.org. It may also help a lot to read its documentation and tutorials. I would really be surprised if they didn't even document such a trivial thing.

  • How to make a form for input in web interface builder

    Hi expert:
        How to make a form for input in web interface builder?I have already used it to do PS planning, but I don't know how to  draw lines and checkboxes . Thanks in advance.
    Allen

    WAD:
    Open the WAD and create a new template. On the left hand navigation you will have several Web Items available. Under 'Standard' you have 'Analysis' item. Pull that into your template to the right. Under the Properties tab you need to pick the query [form/layout] that you have built in Query Designer.
    You will also find other items such as Button group, Checkbox, drop down, list box etc available. Pick and drag into the template whatever it is you require. Lets say you want a button. Under the Properties tab select the 'Command' that you require. You could use standard commands that are available there. You could also define functions and commands that you require.
    Query Designer:
    Open the QD and drag the characteristics and key figures that you require into the rows and columns of the QD. You would need to specify restrictions under the Filter tab of the QD based on the granularity of data that you require. You would need to remember that the key figures need to be made Input Ready [do this by clicking on KF and on the planning tab select "change by user and planning functions"].
    This shouldgive you a start. After you've explored it yourself a bit we can discuss further and I can certainly provide you additional details/material on these areas.

  • How to Increment a Value by 1 in each execution of a Package

    Are you sure this is the code you're running?  It looks like it would raise an error because you're using =  where := is required:
    ln_loop_count=ln_loop_count+1
    The answer to your question is in the title of your thread.  You want a package, not an anonymous block.  An anonymous block is compiled anew every time you run it.  A package can contain variables (such as ln_loop_count in the example below) that last as long as your database session lasts.
    Here's one way to do what you requested:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE  pkg_lc
    AS
        FUNCTION get_lc_prefix
        RETURN VARCHAR2;
    END   pkg_lc;
    SHOW ERRORS
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY  pkg_lc
    AS
        ln_loop_count PLS_INTEGER := 0;
        FUNCTION get_lc_prefix
        RETURN VARCHAR2
        IS
        BEGIN
            ln_loop_count := ln_loop_count + 1;
            RETURN  'REMINDER#' || ln_loop_count;
        END  get_lc_prefix;
    END  pkg_lc;
    SHOW ERRORS
    You can call the function in PL/SQL like this:
    str := pkg_lc.get_lc_prefix;
    or in SQL like this:
    SELECT  pkg_lc.get_lc_prefix
    FROM    dual;
    The package name is optional  when you call the function from inside the package itself.
    You may want (or need) to store the counter in a table, rather than in a package variable.

  • How to Increment a value automatically

    Hi,
    I have a table named "Tbl_Outdirection_Dtl" which contains the following fields
    Tbl_OutDirection_Dtl: Outyear, OUTNO, OTSERNO, DI_CODE,REPLYHDATE, INNO, INHDATE, IN_UD_UID, IN_REMARKS, SCLOSE, St_CODE, CONT_RECNUM.
    In this, the CONT_RECNUM is starting from 3200001 for the first record then it should be increment by one for the next new record. My Query is how to increment it automatically when I am trying to insert a new record with out mentioning this field?
    Please help me

    To add to Whitehat's comments - most of this table design does not seem correct from a standards perspective either.
    Tbl_OutDirection_Dtl: Outyear, OUTNO, OTSERNO, DI_CODE,REPLYHDATE, INNO, INHDATE, IN_UD_UID, IN_REMARKS, SCLOSE, St_CODE, CONT_RECNUM.Why the TBL_ prefix? It does not achieve anything ito scope, identification, usability or readability. It is useless. It is based on Hungarian notation that in today's software engineering environment, is just plain stupid. (and well-known programmers like Linux Torvalds has even worse names for it)
    What is the basic requirement for an object name (be that a hash table, a partition table, an index organised table or pipeline table function or whatever)? Describing accurately what that object is using a meaningful name. There is absolutely no need to identify the type of the object. (the type itself can easily change, but the object ito data model and attributes will remain constant).
    The column names are a mixed of "+let's use underscores+" and "+let's not use underscores+". The correct standard is using underscores and again, using meaningful names.
    For example, what does INHDATE means? And why does it not have underscores like the other columns? Compare that to for example HIRE_DATE that exactly tells you what the column contains.
    Note that the so-called standards you think you have learned and used with SQL-Server is not just not applicable - it actually does the converse of what standards do. It makes your code and data model more difficult to read, understand, and use.
    Basic SQL standards are simple. Meaningful names. Use underscores. Objects containing multiple entities (like employee rows for example), must be in plural - e.g. the ERD will describe the EMPLOYEE entity and the database model will contain the EMPLOYEES table.
    It is that easy and that simple.
