WS-Eventing In JDeveloper 10.1.3

Hi Folks..
I've been looking into trying to get WS-Eventing to work within JDeveloper and the OC4J container. There are two areas that I have come across that are making it difficult and I am hoping that some of you might have some insight into this... (It may very well be that its not possible in the current version of JDeveloper)
1) There are two schema definitions that WS-Eventing requires to work correctly.. http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/eventing
http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing
Is there anyway to get JDeveloper to generate the appropriate java classes for from these schemas to use when I am creating the web service?? I tried creating a simple WSDL that imported these schemas then used the create Web Service Proxy to generate the service skeletons.. but when it was finished it hadnt generated the complete set of classes that it should have. IE One of the complex types in the Schema is called _Subscribe.. this class was not generated when running the wizard.
2) I was able to eventually generate the necessary java classes with an axis tool.. WSDL2Java.. and from there to create my implementation. The problem I have from there was creating the web service from the implementation. When trying to create the J2EE 1.4 Web service.. I am able to fill out the first page of the wizard... indicating what implementation file to expose.. but when I click to go to the next page.. the Next button becomes disabled and I remain on the first wirard page. No error message is indicated. Im assuming that the wizard is choking on the WS-Eventing types that are declared in the implementation file, although Im not sure.
Anyways.. not sure I will get any feedback on this.. as WS-Eventing is fairly new... but I thought I would put it out there.
Thanks for any help
Dave

Thanks Eric..
I will look into the WSA route. Ive included my WSDL below with the hope that someone might see where I've gone wrong. As you can see I am importing the Eventing Schema... http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/eventing this schema in turn references the Addressing Schema.. http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing.. When I use JDeveloper to create the skeleton classes... it seems to generate all the Addressing classes correctly.. but it only generates one of the types from the Eventing Schema.
Thanks again for your help..
Dave

  • Oracle Apps adapter not displaying any Business Events

    Hello
We have configured a Business Event in Oracle ebs R12 instance. Now we are trying to configure Oracle Apps Adapter in Oracle Jdeveloper. The version is 11.1.1.3.
The apps adapter wizard; after connecting to the ebs instance; does not display any tables/Business events.
The connection to the ebs instance is done by a normal user i.e. 'apps' user credentials are not used. We are not provided with 'apps' user credentials due to security reasons. We need help in figuring out the privileges that shld be granted to the 'normal' user so that we can browse and select the Business event in Jdeveloper and also the apps adapter can create the subscriptions and queues successfully in ebs.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks

    Hi Ruplim,
I am new to this topic and dont really know how to go about this. So can i assume from your post that the oracle apps adapter can subscribe to an event in EBS. If yes, can you tell me how i can do this?
    Thanks

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g VS BPEL PM 11g

    Hello,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?
I understand BPEL PM is a component of SOA Suite 11g.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Ram,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?BPEL Process Manager 11g is a standalone product and it is part of SOA Suite 11g as well. SOA Suite 11g is actually a group of products and it includes -
    Oracle BPEL Process Manager
    Oracle Service Bus
    Mediator
    Oracle Business Activity Monitoring
    Oracle Web Services Manager
    Oracle Business Rules
    Oracle Human Workflow
    Oracle Event Processing
    JDeveloper and ADF
    Adapters
    Oracle Entitlements Server Basic
    Oracle B2B
So you cannot compare SOA Suite with BPEL.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?Oracle BPEL Process Manager enables enterprises to model, deploy, and manage BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) processes. It includes a BPEL business process modeler, a scalable BPEL run-time engine, an extensible WSDL binding framework, and a monitoring console. So use of BPEL is limited till business process implementation only whereas SOA Suite offers complete middleware SOA solution.
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.Yes, if you want to implement BPEL processes only then you can buy only BPEL Process Manager 11g but if you are looking for to implement a complete middleware SOA solution then licensing SOA Suite 11g will be the better option.

  • How to create JAXB bindings in jdeveloper 11g for the portlet event payload

I have three projects in JDeveloper 11.1.1.6:
    - PortletProducer - provides some portlets
    - PortletUser - makes use of these portlets
    - SomeData - provides serializable classes for portlets event payload
I configured SomePortlet in PortletProducer to send events of serializable type SomeDataClass (from SomeData project), but whenever i am trying to send event of this class, i am getting an exception:
    oracle.portlet.client.container.PortletRemoteException: oracle.portlet.server.container.OperationFailedException: oracle.portlet.wsrp.v2.OperationFailedException: Internal Server Error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Event [someEvent] value is of type [class somedata.SomeDataClass] which does not have a valid JAXB binding configured; configuration may be done in the WEB-INF/portlet.xml or WEB-INF/wlp-framework-common-config.xml files..;
But i have no idea how to perform such bindings in portlet.xml or wlp-framework-common-config.xml (the latter file is also missing in all three projects, while the former exists only in PortletProducer project).
I have a JAXB xsd file created with schemagen.sh (from a jaxb zip) for SomeDataClass, but what do i do with it in order to create a JAXB binding in JDeveloper?
    Thanks.

Are you trying to expose an existing system inside of WCS?
If this is the case, you should investigate "External Applications":
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/config_svcs_prod_extapp.htm#WCSUG6698
This is an out of the box way of embedding external systems, with seperate login pages etc. I think this will achieve what you are trying to do yourself. It even allows for parameterised URLs

  • CM Events not getting to a JDeveloper Application

    Hi,
I'm using the IFS/CM sdk on our site so that we may be notified of changes to files given certain conditions.
I want to use waitServer() to wait on given conditions. We set up a demo on a Solaris box which works fine. The Solaris box is also where the test repository is held. The demo works fine. It runs from command prompt, initialises correctly and notifies us of changes. Perfect, you might imagine.
However when I moved it onto JDeveloper, we use exactly the same source, same properties, same class path etc, it initialises correctly, get to waitServer(), and just waits. It never receives a message. The event has definitely been generated, as the solaris app receives the message.
    Obvious stuff we've done:
    - both boxes ping each other.
    - from the repository console we can see the client session's, on the correct PC.
    - we can make other queries against the site, is this file in this folder etc.
    - turned off the solaris demo to make sure it's not (somehow) swallowing the event.
    Our environment is as follows:
    - JDeveloper 9.0.3.1, OJVM build 1.3.1_02-b02 - which doesn't
    - Solaris - Sun JVM build 1.3.1-b24 - which works
    - Oracle Enterprise Manager 9.2.0.1.0
We want to use JDeveloper for this project as we use it everywhere else. I'm at my wits end. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you run the demo on the XP box outside of JDeveloper and does it work? I'm trying to find out if the issue is (a) the XP box or (b) JDeveloper.
If it's the XP box, you should try getting some help in the Oracle Files forum Content Services
Or if it's JDeveloper, try setting the Java VM from ojvm to hotspot in the Runner page under Project Properties.

    Thanks for the prompt reply,
the session works like a charm, thanks.
I am still not sure how I can feed back ActionErrors from the named event to the JSP page however. I think I have seen the paper you are talking about on the OTN and it has got me as far as I am now with the named events (onSubmitLogin) but I am still not able to find out how errors can be signalled back to the same page, if required. I can certainly do an actionContext.setForward("error"); and follow the error forward back to the same page, but I can't get my errors to show up in the html:error tag
Also, I am not quite sure I follow what you say about the login information being stored in a ViewObject. Is this a particular view object, and if so, which one? How can I get from having a username and password field in a JSP page to putting the right credentials into the right View Object in order to allow ADF to use the tagish JAAS stuff? (I have already changed the jbo.security settings to what I think are the correct ones based on the JDeveloper help).
    Thanks again

    Hi,
this article has a use case for the POJO approach: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2011/11-may/o31adf-352561.html
Another is to define a method binding in the receiving PageDef file and configure it as explained here

I didn't edit web.xml file manually, please help.
    Thanks,

Is that al what you see in logs? If there is more then please go through again carefully. There are certain serlvet and filter dependencies that are required to be commented out in the web.xml to be able to run it. Also have a look at  https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/tip_to_quickly_test_jdeveloper
    Hope this helps

  • Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:
    The "Messages" pane displays:
    "Compiling...

    Done
I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?
    LA$$E

    Jupp,
It fails in a similar way.
What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

    DefaultServer startup time: 121552 ms.
    DefaultServer started.
In the "Messages" pane, however, things are not looking so good:
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:20:49 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
But, of course, the server is actually running as I can access it via its Admin Console.
So, I try to run the project again, and this time the following is shown in the "Messages" pane:
    Compiling...
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:26:39 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
The "Running: DefaultServer" now comes up with:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
[Server Instance DefaultServer is shutting down.  All applications currently running will be terminated and undeployed.]
    Process exited.
The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

After that, I tried setting permissions for the cwallet.sso file to ugo+rwx, but this leads to the same problems as mentioned above.
My second try was to setup an external WLS 12c, but it seems to be not yet possible to connect to a WLS 12c from within jDeveloper.
Do you have any ideas ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Robin

After debugging the WLS Initialisation with jdb, I recognized that there was some trouble with dependent libraries.
In the end, I solved my problem by using another OS (Ubuntu 11.10) for development. There, the WLS works out of the box, even with 64-Bit libraries.
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards,
    Robin

    Hi,
I tried the way suggested by Anil in the above link as well today, but still am getting the same error while openning the pdf .
Dont know why it shows error that either the file is not a supported file type or because the file is damaged.
Please suggest way to solve this error or some other way of calling xml report from OAF page.

But it doesn't list the server while deploying the application.
I don't see the issue in my office network. But I encounter this problem when I work at my home.
Ideally it should show the following lines after server is started:
    DefaultServer startup time: 195467 ms.
    DefaultServer started.
This is not happening if i run the server without network.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks
    Ravi

I see some message about a proxy. Have you checked that you can use the proxy from you network?
If not you should turn the proxy off.

  • InputRangeSlider is not working properly in Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0

    Hi,
    I am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0.
I have a requirement with InputRangeSlider in ADF.
When ever i change the slider, i would like to invoke the managed bean method (ValueChangeListener).
    it's working for me.
In the same page i have radio (SelectOneRadio) button (YES or NO).
The valueChangeLitener is not firing, when ever i change the value of the radio button.
its firing when i click some other links in the same page.
If i remove the InputRangeSlider component from the page, the valueChangeListener is firing when ever i change the radio button value (YES or NO).
    Kindly give some solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naveen.
