WSDL Versions

Hello,
How can I put a version on a WSDL?  Next, how do I verify which version the sending system is using?
For example:
I create a PurchaseOrder_Out WSDL.  Then I add a new field to the WSDL that is optional.  If the sender does not use the optional field it does not appear on the SOAP message.  So how can I identify which version of my WSDL the sender is using?
We are using PI 7.1 and we are currently not using Services Registry.  Is the SR required for this?
Thanks,
Matt

as i know there is no way to version the WSDL, you have to do it creating a new WSDL with a different name:
for example:
PurchaseOrder_Out_v1
PurchaseOrder_Out_v2
or the other possibility is to version the SWCV.
related to the SR, its not requiered, the SR is a repository where you publish all your services ussed in your landscape, so anyone can access to this catalog and know which services are being used in the landscape and maybe reuse one of it. (this is the one of the main objetive of SOA)

  • WSDL version used for port creation in SOAMANAGER for Netweaver 7.01 SP-5.

    Hi,
    Does SOAMANAGER refer to a particular version of WSDL while creating the logical ports for consumer proxies. I'm asking this because after one of the upgrades in our ECC system we find that the authentication configurations of the port are automatically done based on the WSDL now, however this was not the case earlier.
    Also logical ports created manually are giving runtime exception (Soap FAult Code : 1). Does logical ports creation necessarily have to be done from WSDL.
    Please throw some light on the above, if any of you have faced this issue already.
    Regards,
    Avishek.

    We got a reply from SAP that from NetWeaver 7.0 SP3, logical ports will be created based on Security policy mentioned in WSDL. We can however override this by creating the port manually and the SOAP fault code error can be resolved by manually entering the SOAP Action for each method of the Service in the 'Operation Specific' tab of the Logical Port details.

  • Connecting to Data via a web service:  WSDL vs HTTP REST

    I created an app and easily was able to get my data from my web service via connecting using the WSDL file.  I then added RESTful to my web service and tested it via SOAPUI and then I created a copy of my original app and deleted the link to my service and then added it but this time using the HTTP connection and I was able to connect, I was able to get my value objects created via the xml parser.  However, for some reason, my date fields are not working.  I went into debug and it says they are invalid.  I checked the xml for both the web service WSDL version and the HTTP RESTful and they look the same.  So why all of the sudden does my dates not work?
    SOAPui from web service
    <endDate>2011-05-30T09:53:00-06:00</endDate>
    RESTful address
    <endDate>2011-05-30T09:53:00-06:00</endDate>
    RESTful Flash
    endDate:Date
    WSDL Flash
    endDate:Date

    DS Version: 14.2.1.224 (14 sp1)
    Job Server 14.2.2.5xx (14 sp2)
    Configuration on the Web Service:
    URL:
    https://maxcvservices.dnb.com/Company/V4.0?wsdl
    https://maxcvservices.dnb.com/FirmographicsProduct/V3.2?wsdl
    WSS User: provided the name
    WSS Pass: provided the pass
    Timeout set to 500
    All other settings are blank.
    Does something need to be defined on the job server?
    The WSDL does not even open on the workstation unless I use an adapter. I had found an article/help/note (something) that the web service in SAP DS does not work with HTTPS and it does with an HTTP Adapter.
    I do not have access to Job Server, will have to schedule some changes if there is config that has to happen there.
    Thanks for your input.

  • ESB Call to BPEL contains the Version of BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I'm creating a ESB Routing Service to call a BPEL Process.
    Although I do not pout the version of the BPEL process on the WSDL that i give to the ESB Routing Service it always call the version to what it was developed, even thought i created a new version of the BPEL process and mark it as default.
    What can i do to make that ESB Routing service call the default version of the BPEL process?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    If i select the wsdl of the bpel, it would normally use an url like :
    <host>/orabpel/default/BPELProcess2/2.0/BPELProcess2?wsdl
    if i mark 2.0 as default and use an url like :
    <host>/orabpel/default/BPELProcess2/BPELProcess2?wsdl
    (so skip the version notification), it just uses the default-marked wsdl (version 2.0) in this case.

  • WSDL created by xfire binding issues

    Hi all
    I have two questions, any answer will be great!
    I have Java beans which I "turn into WSDL" using xfire binding.
    1. How can I add a WSDL version ? I mean, my POJO's change sometimes, fields are added, required fields become optional, etc. So I'd like to add a version, so whoever uses the WSDL, will know when a new version is out.
    How can this be done?
    2.The 'minOccure' and 'nillable' attributes are created by default. this is usually ok, but sometimes I wan to change this, how do I do it ?
    I found some info in the http://xfire.codehaus.org site, but thats only for defaulting ALL members, and does not show how to control individual members.
    Thanks
    Dave

    I've found a solution for the 2nd problem:
    Using the annotation:
    @XmlElement(minOccurs = "", nillable = )
    placed on the getter method will do the job.
    E.g - @XmlElement(minOccurs = "1", nillable = false), thus the member is required and not allowed to be null.
    The 1st problem still remains though:
    How do I add a version number to the outgoing WSDL ?
    I don't mind it being as a documentation or any other solution, I just need to add a 'line' to the WSDL and be able to place a verion number (such as 3.1)

  • Complex return message on WSDL using Netweaver Developer Studio 7.0.1

    Hi All,
    We are going to do a Web Service using Netweaver Developer Studio 7.0.1(jdk 1.4), that has to return a complex type
    message. The Web service works fine on WS Navigator but when importing Its RPC WSDL version on Xcelsius
    only the root field of the complex message is displayed as an output value.
    Is there any best practice or document that describe "how to do a Web Service" returning a complex type message
    using Netweaver Developer Studio 7.0.1?
    P.S.
    "On Netweaver Developer Studio 7.0.1 is it possible to provide manually the WSDL instead of the auto generated one ?"
    Best Regards,

    Hello Jon,
    I agree, but 2 GB RAM is sufficient to run the NWDS efficiently, consider the following points to increase its performance.
    1. Tweak your eclipse.ini : This will increase the memory usage of Eclipse, but will give you the best startup and working  performance. If you think eclipse is using up too much memory, lower the Xms, Xmx and PermSize values.
    -startupplugins\org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.101.R34x_v20080819.jar--launcher.XXMaxPermSize256m-vmargs -Xms256m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+AggressiveOpts-XX:+StringCache-XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods-XX:+UseLargePages-XX:LargePageSizeInBytes=4m-XX:AllocatePrefetchLines=1-XX:AllocatePrefetchStyle=1-Dide.gc=true
    2. Disable the un-necessary startup plugins
    It loads up certain (un-necessary) plugins at startup. We can tweak this a bit to improve the startup performance.
    Go to Window > Preferences
    Expand General and select Startup and Shutdown
    On the right side, uncheck the plugins you don't want to start. Usually, you can uncheck all of them. Don't worry, it just makes the startup minimal. Once you need to access the module in the IDE, it will start it up.
    Click OK and restart IDE.

  • Webservcie: No endpoints found

    Hi gurus!
    I'm new to WebServices....
    I'm trying to create a webservice for an RFC function module (ZBAPI_HELLO_WORLD). I've already tried some manuals like http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/0d/2eac5a56d7e345853fe9c935954ff1/content.htm, step by step, apparently everything works fine.
    I go to SOAMANAGER, Web Service Administrator, select the service, verify that the endpoint is created, and everything seems OK.
    However, I go to WSNAVIGATOR, enter the webservice (http://sapdes.bel.com.ve:8000/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZBAPIHELLOWORLD?sap-client=200&wsdl=1.1), but when I try to test it, I get the following error: No endpoints found for this Web service
    I've tried deleting it and creating it again, and again, but so far nothing works, still the same error...
    Am I missing something? some step I haven't seen?
    Basically I'm using transactions SE37 to create the WS, and SOAMANAGER to test it, nothing more...
    Appreciate any help!

  • ORABPEL10903 error

    Hi,
    I use two seperate webservices in a bpel process. Both wsdl files belonging to those webservices contain an element with the same name:
    <element name="fault" type="impl:TmaVAdresnummersFactoryServiceException"/>
    and
    <element name="fault" type="impl:TmaVBouwlaagOppervlaktenFactoryServiceException"/>
    In Bpel designer it raises the following error:
    Error:
    [Error ORABPEL-10903]: failed to read wsdl
    [Description]: in "bpel.xml", Global element declaration/definition of name '{urn:generated.ws.kgb.itude.com}fault' are duplicated at the following locations:
    http://[servername]/KgbWS/services/TMA_V_ADRESNUMMERS?wsdl [line#: 32]
    http://[servername]/KgbWS/services/TMA_V_BOUWLAAG_OPPERVLAKTEN?wsdl [line#: 32]
    There are at least two of them looking different:
    http://[servername]/KgbWS/services/TMA_V_ADRESNUMMERS?wsdl [difference starting at line#:32]
    http://[servername]/KgbWS/services/TMA_V_BOUWLAAG_OPPERVLAKTEN?wsdl [difference starting at line#:32]
    Lines 32 are the ones mentioned above. How can i resolve this wsdl parsing issue in Bpel designer as i have no influence on the webservices itself?
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

    Found the solution/workarround. Instead of importing the target wsdl file and adding the partnerlink type i simply paste the entire original wsdl contents into the bpel wsdl version and resolved the naming issue there.

  • SOAP 1.2 access

    Hi Experts,
    1. I have created the wsdl file through the Integration Directory and it contains SOAP1.1, but I would like to use SOAP1.2. Is it possible in PI7.0 with the service pack : 09.
    2. Where we can find the wsdl version in the wsdl file?

  • Best Practice for WSDL Generate Proxy Class for Web Service with Two Versions

    Dear All
    Thank you in advance for you help.
    I would like to generate proxy classes for same function but with two versions.
    Old version web service (v23.2) is used for stable modules in a project which is not going to modify.
    However, enhancement is added in new version web service (v24) and is going to use in any future modules.
    For example,
    wsdl.exe -o="TestProxy.cs" -l:CS -n:Test -sharetypes https://community.workday.com/custom/developer/API/Notification/v23.2/Notification.wsdl https://community.workday.com/custom/developer/API/Notification/v24.0/Notification.wsdl
    It generates similar classes with an '1' added at the end of the class name.
    ublic partial class Event_TargetObjectType {
    private Event_TargetObjectIDType[] idField;
    public partial class Event_TargetObjectType1 {
    private Event_TargetObjectIDType1[] idField; ...}
    Since the function inside some class is the same, is it possible for WSDL.exe to generate proxy classes automatically that if the class is the same, then generate one class only (sameFunction())  but if it detects the class is different, then add '1'
    to the end of class name (differentFunction() and differentFunction1())
    i.e.
    public class sameFunction()
    public class differentFunction()
    private int a;}
    public class differentFunction1()
    { private int b;
    Best Regards
    mintssoul

    Hi  mintssoul,
      As per this case, I have shared corresponding details below :
    1.As far as I know, WCF doesn’t support method overloading directly
    2.Because WSDL doesn’t support method overloading (not OOPs).
    3.WCF generates WSDL which specifies the location of the service and the operation or methods the service exposes.
    4.WCF use Document/Literal WSDL Style : Microsoft proposed this standard where the soap body element will contain the web method name.
    5.By default all the WCF services conform to the document literal standard where the soap body should include the method name.
    6.but you can differ the method in the same manually by using Name attribute like below
    For example:
        [OperationContract(Name="Integers")]
        int Display(int a,int b)
        [OperationContract(Name="Doubles")]
    double Display(double a,double b)
    7. Or I suggest you that can use svcutil to map multiple namespaces for generating wcf service proxies .
        for more information about this, refer here :
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1103686/use-svcutil-to-map-multiple-namespaces-for-generating-wcf-service-proxies

  • What versions of WSDL are supported?

    What versions of WSDL are supported? Esp is WSDL 2.0 is supported?

    I could be wrong here but from my understanding only 1.1 is supported in terms of version in the current 10g release of the SOA suite. I believe the 11g version will be very up to date and support WSDL 2.0

  • Referencing the version of the soap service in the WSDL call

    I'm wondering if you can call the version of the soap service in the wsdl call. That way you can have different sources using different version of the service.
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    Just for clarity, are you asking how to run a specific version of the same process?  It sounds like it.  If so, while what Jasmin said is correct, keep in mind that a WSDL that is returned only represents the service interface (i.e. inputs and outputs).  If your versions don't differ at the interface/endpoint the WSDL isn't going to help you with versioning.
    Basically, if you change the workflow/process but not the interface/endpoint the WSDL will look the same.  To the best of my knowledge when you make a call to the service/process LC uses the definition of the call (which is based on the WSDL) to run the right process version.   So, if you have services/processes that have the same WSDL definition even though there are multiple versions of the process, which one does it run?  I believe it runs the newest version.  This will create an interesting challenge to support legacy systems.
    I'm willing to admit that the above is my understanding from dealing with web services in general so maybe there is something extra to the way LC can handle calling a specific process when the interfaces are the same.  Or maybe I'm just completely wrong!
    Interested in confirmation on this myself.  Thanks!
