Wsimport and WSHttpBinding

Hi,
I'm trying to connect to a WCF webservice using WSHttpBinding via wsimport. If I try to generate the java stubs for this webservice I get the following warning:
[wsimport] parsing WSDL...
[wsimport] [WARNING] SOAP port "endPoint": uses a non-standard SOAP 1.2 binding.
[wsimport]   line 1 of http://domain/Service1.svc?wsdl
[wsimport] generating code...
[wsimport] compiling code...However, despite this warning wsimport generates the java classes.
Now, when I call the webservice from the generated classes, I get the following error:

Dear chris,
I have the same problem.
Have you succeed to fix it ? Can you report a solution ?

    You are right: wsgen is on the server side, wsimport is on the client side.guess that's what i get for not reading both doc pages. i've used them before, but couldn't remember which was which. i did a quick check of the wsimport docs and misread the page, posting my original reply above ( [wsgen |http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/tools/share/wsgen.html] docs for reference as well).

    But how do I pass the classpath from wsimport to the JAXB compiler ?
    There is the -B option in wsimport, but I could not get it to work.
    If I read it correctly, I should be able to pass the -classpath option to the JAXB compiler from wsimport via -B.
    I tried:
    salvojo@AUD20901BL /cygdrive/c/workspace/JSF/insurance
    $ /cygdrive/c/java/jdk1.7.0_09/x64/bin/wsimport -keep -s gen-src -B"-classpath WebContent/WEB-INF/classes" -b external/wsdl/jaxb-bindings.xml -wsdllocation /wsdl/Member.wsdl -d WebContent/WEB-INF/classes external/wsdl/Member.wsdl
    no such JAXB option: -classpath WebContent/WEB-INF/classes
    Usage: wsimport [options] <WSDL_URI>
    where [options] include:
      -b <path>                 specify jaxws/jaxb binding files or additional schemas
                                (Each <path> must have its own -b)
      -B<jaxbOption>            Pass this option to JAXB schema compiler
      -catalog <file>           specify catalog file to resolve external entity references
                                supports TR9401, XCatalog, and OASIS XML Catalog format.
      -d <directory>            specify where to place generated output files
    <...snipped...>... where WebContent/WEB-INF/classes is the classpath where au.com.xxx.jaxb.DateAdapter.class could be found. Obviously it did not like it.
    Also, why is wsimport generate org.w3._2001.xmlschema.Adapter1.java ? All it is doing is wrapping up the exact same call that I have specified in my DateAdapter. How can I tell wsimport or xjc to NOT create that extra Adapter1.java and simply directly use my DateAdapter ??

    create additional column of type LONG to represent date.
    dateFormat is of type java.util.Date:
    long newLongDate = dateFormat.getTime();
    select object(b) from MyEntity b where b.MYLONGDATE > ?1 and b.MYLOGDATE <= ?2

    Its pretty clear that wsimport is unable to locate the xsd:XmlDataDocument defination and I guess its not in part of XSD standard also. Now there are couple of action items:
    1) How are they generating WSDL? Manually? If they would have been generating by tool; it would have been correct WSDL.
    2) If they are generating manually; you will have to find a way to ask them to change
    Still, you think that change is not viable; you can change the WSDL at your end and can use xsd:any data type instead. In the end, the SOAP envelop structure matters which should be correct. In other words if you can get the structure of XmlDataDocument; you can create similar structure and set the same to xsd:any type.

  • Error while running wsimport.

    Hi,
    I am trying to generate the Java artifacts frm a wsdl file. I am using jaxws-ri_2.1.3 . When I run wsimport the process dies with the following message
    "Schema descriptor {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}XmlDataDocument in message part "return" is not defined and could not be bound to Java.
    Perhaps the schema descriptor {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}XmlDataDocument is not defined in the schema imported/included in the WSDL.
    You can either add such imports/includes or run wsimport and provide the schema location using -b switch."
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema
    This is the wsdl part that throws the error
    <message name="getAllResponse">
    <part name="return" type="xsd:XmlDataDocument"/>
    </message>
    It will be difficult to change the wsdl . The getAllResponse gets all the data in an XML document and returns it.
    From what i know the server side is written in PHP.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to create and use Webservice controls using WSDL in weblogic portal10.3

    Hi All,
    I have WSDL , How to create webservice controls using the WSDL in weblogic portal 10.3 and use those controls to invoke those webservice methods?
    please give me the documents links for this.
    Thanks
    Venkata Sarvabatla

    As far as I remember, Controls can be called only from Pageflows, BackingFiles, Another Control (Like control calling another control) etc. In pageflow we use annotation @Control and give control classname and a varialbe for that. I am pretty sure this annotation may not work from normal java class and in your case a JAVA JSR Class.
    If you installed the samples, refer the samples from WLS: C:\beawlp103\wlserver_10.3\samples\server\examples\src\examples\webservices. They have lot of fully ready to work samples with instructions. I used clientgen ant task. But you can use standard SUN JDK Command "wsimport" also to generate the java files from the WSDL. Open any command prompt. If java is in classpath, just run wsimport and that should give an idea.

  • WSImport-Error generating server code from existing wsdl ends in ERROR

    Hi,
    we have an existing wsdl, and need to change the Server Env. I am evaluating JAX-WS and WSImport, and it seems to be cool, but i have a Problem similar to this thread here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=739918&messageID=4245176
    I solved all JAXB Issues, but this error drives me crazy. All Types from XSD and WSDL are generated if i switch to extension="true". In my Opinion the message parts refer to schema types, i cant figure out, whats wronh there.

    One can use Clientgen <binding> element to specify custom binding files.
    Here is a WLS workaround for the problem of unresolved xs:schema references in WSDL
    1. save XMLSchema.xsd and customization.xjb into a local directory called bindingDir,
    2. use the following script to gen clientside artifacts.
    <clientgen>
    <binding dir="bindingDir" includes="*">
    </clientgen>

  • Relationship between JAX-WS and Java SE 6

    I installed SE 6 today and tried to create a few new web services (following some online tutorials). I am seeing a few problems, however.
    1. The wsimport and wsgen ant tasks don't seem to be included (although the command line tools are).
    2. The class com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.servlet.WSServletContextListener doesn't seem to be in there either.
    I thought JAX-WS was part of the SDK -- In particular, the following lines from the JAX-WS FAQ would seem to indicate as much:
    Q. Which jar files do I need to distribute with my application that uses the JAX-WS RI?
    A. For JAX-WS 2.0 using Java SE 6, JAX-WS is integrated in Java SE 6 so no additional jars are needed.
    Am I missing something here? Or is this only a partial relase of the JAX-WS kit? If so, where do I go to get the missing pieces?
    Thanks, Sean

    Let's see, you don't have to ship all of the JAX-WS jar files with your client. Granted the ANT tasks are not there, but if you want them, you can easily download the source from Java.net and compile just a subset of what you need for your own development environment. Or, as you have already done, write your own. Also, if you use NBs to develop your client, you don't need the ANT task at all.

  • QName error while calling a web service from Sourcing

    I need to call a web service from Sourcing script. The web service team has provided us the WSDL and I have generated the required stubs using wsimport and packaged the required java classes in a custom JAR. Now while calling a web method using this jar from my script, I am getting and exception. The exception message that I printed out was this:
    Caught exception e with msg Connection IO Exception. Check nested exception for details. (Connection
    IO Exception. Check nested exception for details. (Connection Exception; nested exception is:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: cannot create QName from "null" or "" String).)
    The same jar and same code works fine when called from a standalone java program.
    I am not using or creating QName anywhere in my script. The only place where QName is used is in the generated java class and there it is created from the correct namespace URL
    Can anyone please help me out in figuring out what is the issue?

  • Re: How to enable NTLM authentication in OSB???

    Hi all,
    We have the same problem trying to integrate OSB with and asmx service that uses NTLM.
    We try an alternative, we have created the artifacts of asmx service using wsimport and we created a little java project using these artifacts. We also added a class with a static method in this project in order to be used by OSB java callout mechanism. When this project if used standalone (through eclipse) works fine and as the environment is windows server, it sends automatically to the client the credentials of user that is logged on windows domain. On the other hand when we deploy this java project in OSB as jar for callout we receive : Response: '401: Unauthorized' exactly at the point that the produced artifact class invokes the constructor of javax.xml.ws.Service in order to create an instance of the service.
    Can it be the same problem stated by 830428?
    The stack trace:

      org.tempuri.EDoc.<init>(EDoc.java:46),
    after that (actually before) is just our code which calls the  @WebServiceClient Class (the local artifacts which are used to call the actual web service).

    Kuppusamy.V.,
    We experiened the same issue as you and managed to find a solution to the problem.
    The OSB does not support NTLM authentication, so you are quite correct in stating you must write a Java class and use a Java callout from an OSB Proxy Service.
    Our Java class worked fine from the Unix commandline, but failed when deployed to the OSB and invoked by the proxy service with the dreaded '401 Unauthorised' error.
    On closer inspection, the proxy service stack trace revealed:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '401: Unauthorized' for url: 'http://your.domain.here/default.aspx' at weblogic.net.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLConnection.java:474)
    We noticed that the exception was being thrown from the WebLogic 'weblogic.net.http.HttpURLConnection' class and not the Sun 'java.net.HttpURLConnection' as we expected (and our Java code explicitly imported)!
    We couldn't understand why a different HTTP handler was being invoked, but it got us thinking. And thinking. And raising an Oracle support ticket. And waiting.
    Tired of waiting, we revisited the problem and chanced across the Javadoc for the 'java.net.URL' class and noticed one of the constructors allows you to specify a HTTP handler!
    Instead of opening our URL with this typical usage:
    URL url = new URL(yourURL);
    HttpURLConnection http = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
    We used:
    URL url = new URL(null, yourURL, new sun.net.www.protocol.http.Handler());
    HttpURLConnection http = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
    And, hey presto!, it worked a treat.
    And we closed the Oracle service ticket. And stopped waiting :)
    Regards,
    Jerome

  • How to make a WSDL file generate Java Code

    Hi, I'm quite new in web services. I used the ebay shopping service importing the WSDL file with wsimport, and NetBeans automagically created the Ebay libraries while parsing the WSDL.
    Now I'm trying to implement my own soap WS, i'm quite finished but when I try to use it importing the WSDL in a new project, my classes are not imported.
    So, where's the trick? How can I include code generationi n my WSDL?
    thanks in advance :)

    hi,
    since the wsdl parsing was complet, for sure the classes are copied (.java), to see them check the following path
    YourService\build\generated\wsimport\client\YourService
    and the .class file will be in
    YourService\build\generated\wsimport\binaries\YourService

    Hi 734082,
    can you please explain what do you mean by saying:

On the other hand when we deploy this java project in OSB as jar for callout we receive : Response: '401: Unauthorized' exactly at the point that the produced artifact class invokes the constructor of javax.xml.ws.Service in order to create an instance of the service.
    Any ideas of how to solve this or any alternative working solution ?

  • Proxy object creation failed in jax-ws

    Hi
    I try to implement a dynamic client via proxy (this time not dispatch) I made all client artifacts dynamically in code via WSIMPORT and add result classes folder to my CLASSPATH but when it try to create Proxy object it failed, and argued about one of my service method couldn't be found.
    here is my code:
         public void callSynchWSIMPORT(String wsdlPlace,String tNS,String serviceNam) throws Exception{
              URL wsdlLocation = new URL(wsdlPlace);
              QName serviceName = new QName(tNS,serviceNam); //http://localhost:8080/TestENDP/TestENDPService?WSDL;

    Hi RezaRavasizadeh,
    It seems I got the same problem when my web service (calling another one) is called by a BPEL process... It works perfectly when I call it from a web application but when it is invoked by the BPEL process, it looks like it loses the context and can't retreive the class by the RuntimeModeler.
    Did you find any solution ?
    Best regards

  • Java class namespace conflict between two Web services

    We have been asked to develop a client that can call two different versions of a live Web service. Unfortunately the people who developed the services that we have to call used overlapping namespaces when they created the new version. We are using the Java 6 JDK Web Services stack. We have generated the classes for our 2 clients using wsimport and include them on our classpath in two separate jars. Of course this should never happen because you should never have two different objects sharing the same namespace. We don't control the service though, so can't change things there. Is there some way for us to remap to objects in a different namespace for one of the services. Any help would be much appreciated, even if it's just to say that this is not possible.

    did you try specifying a different package when you run wsimport?
    also, if you can't find a jaxws solution, you can always load each webservice jar in a separate classloader in your application and run your webservice access code from these separate classloaders.
