X Code Tools 2.5 Package Index

Is there a page that lists the location of each Tool within the .pkg files for XCode 2.5? This will come in handy when installing components individually so that I don't have to go through the whole installation process.

I really wouldn't recommend this. I would always uninstall everything by running the uninstall script and then re-install from the package.

The flaw in LabVIEW Tools Network: VI Package Manager

At first I was impressed with the LabVIEW Tools Network (see here). Its seemed like a plus for everyone:
- Developers who didn't want to reinvent the wheel, could easily find and download code using the VI Package Manager.
- Developers who want to re-sell their code, could easily package it and sell it via the Tools Network marketplace (similar to the iPhone's App Store).
But then I found the flaw: The VI Package Manager
Developers (essentially) need to use the VI Package Manager if they want to sell their code ... and it costs $999. And you'll need to add on the cost of a LabVIEW license ($2k+), of course. This will surely elimate many coders from participating. In fact, it'll probably also artificially raise the price of all the SW being sold on the Tools Network.
And by the way: Why is NI relying on a third-party SW delivery tool for their marketplace at all? Especially one that costs developers $1k to package their add-on? Why doesn't NI just build their own VI Package Manager and dump JKI Tools all together? In this case, building their own Package Manager would make sense for NI. Cut ot the middle-man. And after all, didn't NI do this to Endevo when they built their own LVOOP tool (thereby dumping Endevo's GOOP toolkit into oblivion?).
Oh... and need I remind anyone that Apple only charges developers $99 to distribute iPhone apps? And their development environment is given away totally free.

Thanks for the feedback on the LabVIEW Tools Network. We wanted to make it easy for developers to share/sell reusable code with eatch other, and make it easier for developers to get their hands on reusable code rather than program everything from scratch. We wanted to build an ecosystem and marketplace for LabVIEW developers.
It sounds like your biggest pain point is the $999 price point for VI Package Manager. We worked with JKI this past year to make package building a feature of the free edition of VIPM 2010, the Community Edition. So you do not need the $999 Professional Edition to create a LabVIEW Add-on. The Pro version does have several nice benefits though, and you can read about these here: http://jki.net/vipm/compare
You also contrasted our program with the Apple Developer Program which gives you the development tools for free (with the $99 program fee). Well, the main difference here is that the development environment for LabVIEW is LabVIEW! (As opposed to Apple where you are developing for the iPhone/iPad). So I don't think we're comparing Apples to Apples (no pun intended). However, we do offer start-up assistance to developers who want to develop LabVIEW Add-ons to further reduce the barrier to entry. To answer your question about why we chose to go with a third party solution (JKI's VIPM) instead of developing our own - we had several reasons. But I can summarize in one - we had a partner, JKI, who has developed an excellent solution for distributing LabVIEW Code, and was willing to work with us to make the integration with LabVIEW even better, so why create a brand new solution from scratch rather than let them continue to innovate in this area?
By the way, if you haven't seen the integration between the Tools Network and VIPM 2010, you really should give it a try! Here's a sample free Add-on to try - the OpenG Libraries (Click the Download button).

30EA2 - Search Source Code results - Go To package name problem

As mentioned here 2.1 RC1 - Search Source Code results -> Go To <package name> doesn't work , Reports -> Data Dictionary -> PLSQL -> Search Source Code -> right-click -> Go To doesn't go to the specific line: can this be fixed?

1) Open the Reports tab
2) Expand Data Dictionary node
3) Expand PLSQL node
4) Click on Search Source Code
5) Select a Connection
6) Click on Text Search, enter a string to search and click Apply
7) On the results page, right-click any line and select Go To <package name>
8) The package opens on line 1, not the line shown on step 7
While we're at it, do you think it would be possible to make the above process more user-friendly? Like, for example, right-clicking on a Connection and have the Search Source Code option there (that would take me directly to step 6)?

I have a T-61P running Windows XP SP2. Within the past month, my System Updater started returning
"Error 75 received from the Package Index Server. Please contact the Support Center"
I uninstalled System Update and downloaded and installed again from the Lenovo site. Still displays same error message. I get 20% into the update when the error message pops up.
Any suggestions.

Check the following registry keys (or similar)
HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\DSDT\LENOVO\
HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\FADT\LENOVO\
HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\RSDT\LENOVO\
They should be in the form of your model number without the hyphen and not TP-xx___
In my case I had to change the TP-71___ that was showing in my registry to 87445BU. Once I did this the software worked without a hitch.

i am using type4 jdbc3.0 driver to access Ms Sql Server.
and i don't want to use any connection with the database until the user login. Also i don't want to keep the login/logout information in database-it could be much better if i use a file.

You are not speaking to Apple here, just other users.
iPhones that come with a SIM do not include a ejector tool. No SIM free iPhone 6es are sold in the US at this time.

Sql Developer - View source code of procedures, functions & packages in another schema

Our developers need the ability to view procedures, function, packages etc. in the production database (using SQL DEVELOPER). They don't have access to sign on as the owner of these
objects in Production. They must use their own limited access UserID for this purpose.
This limited access UserID has been granted select privilege on DBA_SOURCE & DBA_OBJECTS. The developers need the ability to view the source of these object via
the tree view in SQL DEV. They should be able to click on "other users" in the SQL DEV tree view and see a listing of the owner schema objects. Then they should
be able to select the desired object and view the source code. These developers are used to using GUI interfaces. Selecting from DBA_SOURCE would not be an
option for them.
I understand that if the limited user is granted SELECT ANY DICTIONARY or SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE then this functionality will work. The problem is those
privileges/roles provide much more access than should be granted to these limited access users. Granting DBA to these users is also not an option.
In TOAD and other end-user tools this functionality works when only select privilege on DBA_SOURCE & DBA_OBJECTS has been granted. We need this same functionality
in SQL DEV.
While searching this forum and the internet, I see that other installations have this same issue.
Please enhance SQL Developer with this functionality.

Just to double check that I'm interpreting the problem correctly, is the following true:
select * from all_objects where object_name = 'DBA_SOURCE'
returns nothing
select * from dba_source where name = your PL/SQL module
returns all the code

When I perform a search through Reports -> Data Dictionary -> PLSQL -> Search Source Code and I right-click -> Go To ... on a row of the results, nothing happens.

Copy configuration between company codes tool

I would like to know if we can copy configuration between company codes? If yes, how do we do that? I know there are some third party tools available, but couldnt recollect now. Any guesses?

Since it are more than 200 customers, a manual operation isn't very efficient.
As I understand, no standard SAP programs exist to copy multiple customers from 1 company code to another. A new CATT will have to be created.
Does anyone have this kind of program, otherwise I will create it from scratch.

How to retrieve the webdynpro code from a business package

Hi Experts,
We have deployed the ESS/MSS Business Package . The issue is that we have to make some changes in the applications which have been deployed alongwith the business package.Since the business package was provided by SAP , we do not have the Webdynpro DC for the same.
Can Experts please tell me the easiest & legal way to retrieve the webdynpro piece of code so we can make the required changes?

Work on FB4.5 and Flash5.5 simultanoiusly - lack of code hints and default package classes.

Hi!
I setup Flash Professional CS5.5 and FB4.5 to work together. I just followed this tutorial: http://www.adobe.com/content/dotcom/en/devnet/flash-builder/articles/sharing-projects-flas hbuilder-flash.html and almost all looks good, but unfortunately working in Flash Builder adding new Classes I do not have default package Classes accessible. This way I can not even declare Sprite, Array class and so on. In code hints I only gets my current package classes.
I set the .fla project inside Flash CS5.5 with some folders as the package for my classes. It is for examle:
com.myDomain.testProject where DocClass exists. By adding this path as the document for FlashCS5.5 all works great, I can easily run, debug movie in the Flash environment.
Setting this project by 'Import'->'FlashBuilder-FlashBuilderProject'->'ProjectFolder' pointing to the .fla file it seems that the thing goes well. The project is set and even I had some problems with Document Class's name (it seems that Flash Builder need to have Document Class with the same name as the .fla flie) and renaming it I can run or debug it and it works.
But if I try to add new class to the directory I end up with no code hints, and in fact no default package classes support. That means I get errors trying to create instance of any common class etc. In code hints I am only getting my package hints (look picture)
Maybe I misunderstand of some package basics and did something wrong, but generally I don't want to put all my classes to the .fla location but to sort them up in specific folders cause I assume that the project is quite large.
If you can help me, thanks in advance. You know messing up with the code is a part of the programmer nature, and when one finds the answer he feels like a king. When to deal with environments like that, there is never joy and hapiness, but in most occasions couple uncensural words in the end, and a glimpse on the watch - agrrrhh I lost so much time :/

How to use a provider code without installing its package?

Hi,
I got a problem here.
I found a security provider package named "cryptix" is what I need in my own software.
My question is how to distribute it with my software?
my app is a aaplet and I couldn't suppose all user machine have been installed this package before try my app.
It is a simple question, I know.

You are writing an Applet right? If so you have a jar file that is downloaded when the applet runs that contains the applet code. You simply need to add an archive tag to your applet's HTML file which includes the cryptix jar. If you are using the Plug-in then you can set that jar to cache.
The problem will be registering the cryptix provider with the security manager. I am not sure about this but I would imagine calling Security.addProvider() would throw an exception while running in an Applet sandbox.
maybe I'm wrong but I would check before you get to far!
