I feel like posting screenshots may be the best way to explain this one. I'm building a website. Everything works great except my content DIV, which looks fine in design view, but completely un-aligned in Firefox/Live View. (See figures 1 & 2)
Now, when I comment out the content DIV, everything looks normal. I finally saw that my CSS Navigator had strikethroughs over the position and width/height attributes of the content DIV. I got the cryptic message in the title. Here is my code:

Syntax error in the CSS.
The browsers are ignoring the #content rule because of the double closing curly bracket just before the #content rule.

I'm trying to design a website using HTML and CSS. I have done the basic layout of the website using Div tags. However, the middle column of the website is showing up differently in Dreamweaver compared to on a browser.
I have researched the problem and found that it is caused by an error occuring on the middle column and the wrapper tag not applying to it: "x does not apply to your selection because it is not inherited. It is applied to an enclosing tag".

"I" does not follow text in float right css p tags

Hi, Have an issue with an "I" hanging back in <p> tags. It only happens when scaling the page smaller from desktop or viewing on an iPad. My client has an iPad. Are there any suggestion on how to remedy this? Thanks! Kevin

Yeah, that's a weird one, a bloody huge image and little space for the text to the left of it - so for sure very quickly any word or combination of words such as 'shape......organiz'a'tion is going to flip to the next widest available space - which is under the image, leaving the rest of the text behind. The 'i' hangs simply because it's the one letter/word that takes less real-estate than any other letter/word.
If its meant to be a responsive design then why is the image NOT responsive. If you made that responsive the text would play a lot more nicely IF you want to wrap it around the image.

History does not work correctly in Firefox when setting base tag?

It looks like there's a bug in history.js that makes Firefox work incorrectly with History when the <base> tag is set in the HTML that runs the Flex object.
We are not using the Flex-generated HTML, because of the way our application is built and one of the things that is different in the HTML that we run the Flex object in is the presence of the <base> tag.
The <base> tag is set in our case to http://www.ufxbank.com/fr, and the full URL of the page with Flex is http://www.ufxbank.com/fr/trading.aspx.
What happens is that the function setDefaultURL in history.js in its "if (browser.firefox || browser.opera)" part makes a call to "window.location.replace" with the value of "#", which in our case replaces the location to "http://www.ufxbank.com/fr/#", which brings a different page in the browser.
I had to replace the code in history.js to be "var newloc = window.location + "?#" + def;" instead of the original "var newloc = "#" + def;".
Does anyone has a better solution?
Is it a bug in the template that should be fixed?

This is a known problem with Firefox. You have books with
links to topics. If you remove those and have the required topic
immediately below the book, the problem will go away.

Firefox does not paginate when printing content inside a Fieldset tag!

When the content inside of a fieldset tag spans more than one page, Firefox prints only the first page of content and no more. Changing the fieldset to a div tag resolves the issue (proving that it is only the fieldset tag that is the problem). Please fix so pagination in printing works when content is in a fieldset tag.

The fieldset tag with a legend makes for a nice visual presentation, but I wonder whether it has any other practical benefit? If it's semantically important, perhaps that would increase the priority for fixing it.

Xml generated does not confirm to xsd. (xmlns="" added to some tags)

The client is unable to parse this xml due to the xmlns="" for the tag X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE_ITEM. The problem is due to the copy on the bple. i am copying the entire structure starting from X_CONTRACT_ENTL_TYPE from the plsql DBAdapter service to the bpel output. The xsd used for the client wsdl and the partner link are exactly the same.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening.

Basically this comes down to a complex xsd. I'm assuming but I think you are using namespaces to help manage the xsd.
If you can minimise the xsd references this may help.

Main content text does not scale down on iPhone

Hello my Dreamweaver friends,
I'm working on a site for a friend -- a simple fixed width layout (header, footer, sidebar and main content). It looks good on Safari and Firefox. But on the iPhone and iTouch the text in the mainContent area does not scale down to size with the <h> tags and the links on the Spry navigation bar. Is there a reason for that? Is there something I could do so that it all scales down?
Another problem is that the right border I put on the Spry Navigation menu doesn't appear on my version of Internet Explorer.

Snoop does not show any network traffic other than own machine

Does anyone know of a way to troubleshoot a 3COM 3C900-Combo card? I reinstalled the card which lets the snoop command show activity of the machine but the card does no send or recieve (ping) any other machines onm the network. The IP and subnet are correct and the ifconfig - a shows the card as "up". Any help would be appreciated. I sur ewould like to get Solaris machine on my NT network.

Please verify if in the BIOS the settings of "PNP OS" is set to FALSE, instead of TRUE. This may help fix the problem.
If this does not resolve the problem can you please enclose a snipped output of the dmesg related to elxl0 and "ifconfig -a" output. Please confirm the sub net mask is set right. Cat /etc/netmasks to confirm.

ITunes wifi sync - cover does not match with a song

I synced music on iPhone with iTunes on MacBook via wifi. After sync, on my phone, almost all the songs had mixed covers. The cover does not match with a song - please see enclosed picture. I removed all the songs and downloaded them again from iTunes. It helped but not for all the songs. I tried sync with a cable but it did not work. The covers on iTunes on MacBook seem to be okay. Help, please?

I can understand how something like this can be concerning. Let's work to get to the bottom of this for you. What kind of phone were you Edging up from? Has the phone ever been replaced or removed temporarily? Just want to make sure we are getting all the facts to help with this issue.

Oh, dear.
If you use PSE as your external editor for iphoto, you need to save the images back to iphoto by using Save, not Save As and not changing anything like the name or format that would bring up the Save As window. (You may need to adjust the editor prefs>saving files>on first save to save over existing.)
OR you can export the photos from iphoto to the desktop, use file>open in the editor and then change whatever you want and either import the saved image to the organizer or import it back to iphoto as a new file. What you are doing is extremely risky, particularly to the iphoto library which you may easily damage by your workflow.
I would start the organizer holding down the shift key, then create a new catalog and switch to the new one. Then try opening the editor without opening an image and see if you get any farther.
PSE and iphoto are not designed to be used as you've been doing. You are trying to write to the iphoto library from outside iphoto, which is the fastest known way to corrupt the library and lose all your photos.

I was given the message that that disk cannot be used because it does not have the GUID partition. In order to have a GUID partition, it suggested I go to disk utility and make the change. I couldn't see the partition tabs in the disk utility application. So how do I accomplish the GUID partition?

The problem is, reformatting the partition may require you erase the hard drive. Normally Intel Macs are preformatted GUID. The fact that yours is not, says someone who initially installed the system on your Mac did you a disservice. Regardless, you should backup your data before you upgrade. GUID formatted drives generally are not compatible with iBooks (pre-2006 consumer notebooks by Apple) Powerbooks, and PowerMacs, and iMac G5s. So if you indeed have machine with the MacBook name on the screen frame, it was not properly formatted from the beginning.

Try going into the account's outgoing SMTP server settings, and if they are not already filled in add your account id and password to the outgoing settings : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then select the account the account on the right-hand side and go onto into it's SMTP server settings
