This happened twice. the first time mother board was replaced.second time will replace mother borad and battery.unfortunely this happened after the 21 days for return. Each time it takes 3 weeks to get parts.
very disaapointed with 3 weeks service (excuse mother board is backordered).

What does the System Profiler have to say about your battery? How many cycles? What is the health? Does it say "Check Battery"? Have you calibrated your battery recently?
It sounds like your battery may be on the fritz.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I have been to the local Genius bar and through trial and error we have determined that Mail is working ok but somehow the account is causing the problem. I have used this account for years. Any ideas what is causing this?

No idea why, but one thing you may try if you have the time, is create a new user, and set up the problem mail account in the new user space. See if it causes your MBP to hang as well. That will tell you if it is something wrong with your main User, or something wrong with MBP.
Assuming this works, I'd nuke the problem account in your main user space, re-start, and reinititate the account and see if that helps.
Depening on how many email accounts you have setup, it may be necessary to nuke the whole Mail folder in your User/Library.... Hard way to get it to work, but just my idea.

Got it sorted though. Seems that Apple has issues with multiple apple id's.
Seems i had to somehow remember and use the original id i had when i first bought my 1st iPhone. . . .
Even after that it was extremely hard to get my apps back on my PC.

W530 will only boot after being left off for hours

I just purchased a Thinkpad W530. it has worked beautifully other than one major problem: it won't start up after a shutdown unless I leave it off for hours. I can turn it on after being off and it works just fine, but if I turn it off I have to almost wait overnight for it to turn back on again. I hit the power button, the green light comes on for a few seconds and then it turns off again.
I've tried booting with just the AC adapter and just the battery. I've also tried unplugging both and holding the power button for 30+ seconds and then plug it back in and it does the same thing. I ran the hardware diagnostic test provided by Lenovo when I'm able to actually get it to work but the results (albeit it's nowhere near a comprehensive test) appear to be fine. I also tried changing what slot the RAM is inserted in.
Also, it has never shut down or anything randomly and it won't turn on no matter how long I had it on so I don't think it's a heat related issue. I had it on for under a minute yesterday morning and then turned it off and it wouldn't turn on until this morning.

I think it IS a heat issue, but not overheating. You probably have a defective chip on the motherboard (part of the starting circuit) that only works when cold. I assume it has a warranty. Now is the time to get service.

When the battery goes flat it can 15 to 20 minutes of charging to then be able to get a response from it, but if you've charged it for longer than that they it should have picked up some charge. Have you got a different charger or cable that you could try just in case there is a problem with either of those - an iPhone or iPod charger will work with the iPad, but as they are lower power will take longer.

I am being forced to another provider after being with verizon for over 30 years!

On Friday,12/12/2014, my iPhone 5 was stole/lost. I immediately called Verizon to report and stop service. During this call I was told that I was eligible for an upgrade, so I though, might as well get the new iPhone 6+. I placed the order and had it billed to my account as I always have in the past, no problem!! HUGE PROBLEM!!!!! The Verizon rep tells me the phone will be delivered on Monday. She never told me I could go to my local store and pick it up under same terms just placed the order herself even though I made it clear that being without a phone even for just the weekend was not good because it was my only phone and hubby is cardiac terminal and that phone is the only way I can access icloud and gather my contact numbers. Monday morning, 12/15/2014) 7:30 my time I check online to see when to expect delivery that day, only to learn that the phone has not even been shipped yet!! I call *611 and reach yet another Verizon rep somewhere in California,, the other one was in Murfreesboro, TN. He tells me no problem, I can just cancel the order right now, before it ships and I will call your local area stores and call you back by 9:30am to let you know where to go pick one up yourself. Sounded ok to me so I agreed that he would cancel order and I would go pick up at retail unit he had called me with that had the phone I was wanting. 12:15pm No call from the guy to tell me which store to go to so again I am calling Verizon at 1:15pm. This young man puts me on hold while he calls the stores and then tells me the Wichita Ks store on Rock RD has 6 of the phones and they are aware of the situation and have a phone waiting for you. Great I get into my truck and drive over 50 miles to pick up the phone just to be told that the order was never cancelled and the phone shipped at 9:30am that morning and until they got the phone back from FedEx or me one my credit was tied up and I would have to pay full retail price if I wanted a phone that day. I immediately called some idiot named Rob that repeatedly interrupted me and was pretty munch put on hold for 41 minutes waiting for a stupidvisor to answer my questions. The same guy repeatedly keeps picking back up giving me every excuse in the world why the stupidvisor has not taken my call yet and then tells me he cannot leave me on hold any longer as their calls are not allowed to last that long but he will call me back in 2 minutes he does NOT! Finally after 41 minutes the store manager brings her fat *** out of the back and instead of asking " How can I help you?" politely, she demands "What is your problem?" She rudely interrupts me several times while I was trying to tell her the problem and my husband starts getting upset so I try to calm him down and she interrupts with what do you want me to do. I said fix this problem and get me a phone! She takes my phone number and information and tells me, can cancel the order. I told her not to do that unless you can get me a phone today without me having to pay, I want it billed to my account. She says I will go look into this I responded with fine I am going outside for a few minutes. She acknowledges me telling her I was going outside. After standing outside 15 minutes and she never reappears I call customer service back. I ended that conversation 55 minutes later and still no store manager. I later learned she had left the building 20 minutes before I ended my call with customer service without ever trying to come back out to us! The rep on the phone tells me someone reset my upgrade date to the 15th, like they did me a favor by cheating me out of an earlier upgrade date, it was on 11/30! But the order was shipped and I could expect delivery on Monday 12/17/2014, TODAY! I get home from my office today and no phone, I check FedEx and learn that Verizon had cancelled delivery and rerouted my phone to factory with them expected to get it back on 12/22/2014. I call customer service and I am told that the store manager cancelled the order and claimed I requested it! So now they cannot do anything but wait until they get the phone back. Mean while I have no phone and all my family and business contacts are trapped in the icloud that I cannot access without an iPhone and I have no way to call my family during the holidays or remain in touch with my carriers during the busiest season of the year for us! This is how you take care of a 30+ year customer? Someone please give me one good reason not to find another carrier and make sure all 9 of my children, their spouses and over half of my 23 grandchildren leave Verizon as well!

The problem is twenty three people leaving or twenty three thousand leaving has zero impact on a carrier with over 100 million customers. And they have the lowest churn rate. So if 10,000 or 20,000 or more churn out it means little to the carrier.
If you have a real lawyer he/she will advise you that you have no case. The device was not lost or stolen by the carrier, you were not eligible for a new device, and like any business who employs large numbers of poorly trained personnel who make low wages what was told to you is not in writing. So a verbal exchange does not hold up.
In fact in Verizon's customer agreement it has such a disclaimer against any verbal exchanges so if you have that agreement in writing, go get them.
The posting on public forums and places like Face Book, Linkin, Google+ or a personal web site can open you up to a lawsuit for Dilution of Trade Name, and other offences. However if you have proof then go for it.

MacBook Pro won't start after being powered off for extended period of time

Hi all, I have a 2013 MacBook Pro (OS X Mountain Lion) that I've owned for about fourteen months. I have just been away for several weeks, during which time my computer has been left completely powered down. However, now it will not start up again. When it is plugged in, the startup sound will play, but the screen stays black. The indicator light on the charger switches back and forth from green to orange several times. The battery indicator lights on the side of the laptop all blink at first and then one lights up a solid green when the button is pressed. I left it plugged in to charge overnight, but nothing has changed since yesterday. After reading several other forums, I have tried starting it up using (ctrl+opt+shift+power) as well as (ctrl+opt+P+R+power), but I got the same result both times. If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

Does anyone have trouble connecting to their wireless network, after being logged on for some time? Mountain Lion.

I am having trouble connecting to my wireless network. It works when I startup my computer but, after a while it can't seem to find the wireless network. I have an Airport Extreme and the light is green. The only way to remedy this problem is to restart my computer. Mountain Lion isn't that great after all not to mention it distorts some images when scrolling. I am kindly asking for some advice, I assume a major update will be coming soon.

You don't by chance have a "invisible" or "hidden" network enabled on the router?
Because Mac's won't reconnect automatically now to hidden network only upon reboots, it's sort of like advertising the hidden network if you take the computer elsewhere.
Also hidden networks are no deterrent to hackers, they see all.
Also check your time and date, make sure they accurate first, then save that, then make sure it's updated via Apple time servers in your general location (System Preferences > Time and Date) If your being kicked off, your DCHP lease might be expiring too early.

Very disappointed in Verizon's service after being a customer for over 8 years

I bought 2 LG chocolates on the family plan.
From the start the touch feature has been less than satisfactory, when you scroll it scrolls so fast you often can't get to where you want to be.
Recently the touch screen has completely broken down and you can't text, retrieve calls, find a contact using the touch screen because it freezes. This was the case on both phones within the same time frame
I took the phones back to verizon yesterday and told them the problem. They acknowledged that this was a defect with the phones. They told me they would apply a software upgrade which would take abou 20 minutes anth that would fix the problem
I left the store for 20 minutes and when I returned they told me that the upgrade did not work. They said I had insuranceon the one phone but not the other and that they would replace the one but that I needed to upgrade the other.
I argued the point that this was a defect and it should be replaced/fixed as a defect. They told me that when you buy a car, and the warantee expires, you have to pay for repairs.
I said that when a car has a defect, they recall the car and fix it for free. They then countered with the fact that I shuold remove my internet package to reduce payments.. even though I told them I needed to access e-mails.
They then tried to sell me a home phone, which I had not come in to buy, but they refused to address the real issue which was that I had to replace the faulty phone that had a KNOWN DEFECT!!
I am so disillusioned by verizon wireless that when my contract is up I am seriously considering one of the other carriers that provide unlimited calling/texting for much less
To her credit, one of the techs who was helping me did get my connection fee waived because she saw how upset I was, but the other one was completely unheplful.
And one of the other engineers told me I had bought an piece ofold technology garbage .
Yet they were still not willing to help me by replacing the piece of garbage.

Phones sold by Verizon have a one year manufacturer's warranty, and the tech was right, after that time period, unless you have paid for the extended warranty, you are responible for repacing a defective unit. You can look for another carrier, but these warranties are provided in partnership with the companies that actually make the phones. That means that the policies are basically the same across all carriers, because ultimately, it goes back to the same handful of companies that are making the devices.
In general, if you want tech support, don't go to a store. Store employees are trained and employed to sell, sell, sell. That is how they make their commissions, and how their managers earn their paychecks. If you call in and speak directly to tech support, you'll get people who are paid and trained to help you, and who won't have a vested interest in pressuring you to buy additional products.

I've read all the stuff about hybrid shutdown and everything, tried to disable it, played with UEFI boot priority in BIOS, and when finally it seemed like FastBoot IS working, (tried it and everything went well and fast), today, when I turned on my lapop, it started, and after windows intro loading animation, it went black, and I heard like HDD stopped working (everything went silent - just like every time since I started to have this problem)...
AND finally, I'm desperate...
I turned my laptop off and on yesterday, just to test FastBoot, and, as I said, with no problems... but the day after, same thing happened...
So - when I turn it off and start again in short time, it seems to work. But when I shut it down for example in the evening, in the morning it freezes again, have to turn it off by pressing power button and then on again, which works... It is driving me crazy..
IS THERE SOMETHING TO GET IT WORK??

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv5-1104tu Notebook and issues with startup. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults.You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. Not rollback. Restore BIOS defaults are needed.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
You might want to look at this document on overheating. Which will cause the Notebook to heat up and shut down.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers that might need updating.

MY granddaughter lost her iPod and we have tried the Find My Phone app, but it starts out saying "this iPod is online,But can not b e located." I was on the website like five minutes with it working perfectly. My firefox install is new as of two days ago. It suddenly decided the website's certificate is not updated. It wasn't updated five minutes ago, but was working perfectly then. I do not give a ''durn'' what firefox thinks. I want to see this website. There is no ignore this BS and take me to my website button. I want to know how to turn this off permanently. I tried updating firefox and I still have the same issue. Make it stop. My firefox is updated as of five minutes ago to the very newest version. My windows version whatever is also automatically updated so that's not it. I do not use any local antivirus because I am behind a firewall. It can't be the firewall because other computers in my network not using firefox have no problem with the website. Also cannot be my windows because other computers which are just ghosted over copies of the same as this one one my network with same exact default settings also with no changes to them just like this one but using another web browser have no trouble at all with this website. Seriously, nothing is different on the other computers on the network except the use of firefox. They work fine for this website. Firefox brand new update even does not work. Tell me how to fix it. I tried to do the stuff listed in certain other posts here. Apparently this version of firefox is different from the versions talked about when I google because certain parts of the answer don't fit what I see when I try to follow them with this version.

Make sure that the system time and date on your computer are set correctly.

I having been using iphone 4s apps for days and suddenly 3-4 on a given page will quit responding. The apps on other pages continue working fine. I am unable to open these even if I shut them down and reopen them or reboot my iphone. I have had to remove and reinstall some in the past. Any other solutions?
