Prompt To Download File when not a pdf or doc

Different files are uploaded through one of my applications. The problem is when clients want to view the file, if its not a .pdf or .doc, .docx, its not rendered through the browser and throws an error.
Is there a way I could force a download prompt to save the file when the file extension is not a pdf or doc?
As of now they are viewing the file through <a class="note" href="#qry.drawing#" target="_blank">View</a>

Most probably reason the file is got corrupt due to virus. For this I would like to suggest you a third party tool which will help you to recover your corrupted PDF file data and it will export into a fresh PDF file. Tool Name:

Can not open .pdf or .doc files in mail

Every time I receive an email with a pdf or .doc file attached I can never open it as I get a message telling me that the file was not recognised or that the file is invalid. Even if I select to open using Adobe for the pdf I get the same.
Any help gratefully received. I've always had this problem and get round it by viewing these emails online instead. But it's not as convenient of course.

I had the same problem, getting the same error message etc. I solved the problem by going to Google Chrome and using that to download the file ( a pdf brochure in my case). That worked OK. Hope this helps.

Problem converting from pdf to doc (encrypted or corrupt file?)

Hi everyone.
I need to convert my resume (pdf) to doc so I can make a couple of edits, and then convert it back to pdf. Problem is, I can't seem to do it. I first tried straight from the program in adobe by saving the file as a doc, but the file formating was way too screwed up when I did that.
So, I then googled around, and found zamzar.com. I tried that site, but kept getting conversion errors which said "file may be encrypted, password protected, or corrupt". I don't have any passwords or encryptions on it, so I tried downloading other conversion programs, but I kept getting the same types of errors.
I checkd the "security properties" for the file, and I don't have anything. I also don't know how the file could be corrupt since I don't have any issues viewing it, and when I sent it to my friend via email, he was able to open it, too.
Ihave recently been using Acrobat 9 pro extended version that I downloaded as a torrent from a reputable person. I just wanted to get a feel for the program, but maybe this is the problem, since any pdf I've saved since I began using it, seems to have that conversion issue, but I figure there has to be a workaround. I really don't know what the issue is, or how I can solve it, and so I'm stumped.
Any suggestions would be really great.

Collect the yellow notes from pdf's into 1?

With several people we are working on this design. Right now we are checking the pdf with 3 people at different locations (not in a network).
Later on i have collect their remarks and put it all in 1 pdf with the yellow stickies/balloons. Is it possible to collect 'stickies' from 3 pdf files (which contain the same design) into 1?

You can actually do this without the intermediate step of creating an FDF file. Just open your "master" document and select Comments>Import Comments... and choose a document with the comments you'd like to import.
(Edit: Of course, if you're sending large PDF files around, FDF files would be much smaller.)

I've checked your account; it looks like you tried to place two separate orders this morning, but it doesn't appear that either went through. However, it does sound as though you've been able to convert a file successfully. What happens when you log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files? Do you see your converted file there? All converted files are automatically stored in your online account, even when you convert from within Reader.

IRS form 1099 is created with the help of LC Designer which is used to create the XFA(XML Form Architecture). ExportPDF would not be able to convert these kind of forms as it tends loose the important data from the form.

Time Out Issue When Converting from PDF to .doc or .dox format

I have a couple of PDF documents that I'm trying to convert to word doc (doc or dox) format. I subscribe to the online Adobe Export PDF. The export always times out. The PDF is 18.08 MB. Does anyone have have any suggestions?

Are you able to convert other PDFs without issue? Here are a few things to try for starters:
Clear your browser cache (steps vary by browser).
If you're using a work computer, check with your IT team to confirm if you have firewall/proxy settings that restrict the ability to upload files to the Internet.
Try another web browser. A list of supported browsers for accessing the ExportPDF service is available here: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
If those don't work, please get back to us. It would be helpful to know what sort of content is in the PDF file that you're trying to convert, and what application created the PDF. (If you don't know, choose File > Properties in Reader. The source application is listed in the middle of the dialog box.)

How to retain spacing from PDF to Word.

Hi all,
Working on a very important project that will involve copying a lot of text excerpts from PDF to .doc files; however, when I try to do this,
the text's spacing is completely lost. From what I've read elsewhere, this is a very common problem...does anybody know how to fix it?
I simply do not have to time to type out all of the text I need (hundreds of pages) by hand...

Hey, first you can try another free pdf reader for mac, like Calibre, to see if the copy and paste problem still remains. The fact is that if you want to preserve the format of a pdf file, copy and paste is not the best way. And manually doing that will take you a lot of efforts. You can try a pdf to word converter for mac. The converter can preserve text, layout and other elements in an editable word document. Sure you don't have to type out all the things, as the software does all the work.

How can I copy text from PDF and include the source filename in the pasted selection?

I'm a biologist and frequently cut-and-paste notes from PDFs of scientific articles. I name all of the PDF articles with their PubMed ID, a short unique identifier (e.g. 19397482.pdf). When I take notes, I will select a few sentences from the PDF and then paste them into a text editor for later reference.
Can anyone suggest a method or script that would allow me to paste the copied text with the Pubmed filename included in a single action? I would want the pasted output it to look something like this, with the filename appended to the end:

Converting .pdf to .doc

I converted a letter of recommendation from .pdf to .doc and for some reason it distorted the signature at the bottom so it just looks like a bunch of symbols. Does anyone know how to convert the file without losing the author's hand written signature? Thank you.
