X86 client network install problem
Hi
I fully configured my Solaris 10 (3/05) jumpstart server, but I can't figure out the command, for installing the client via network?
I tried the command of the following link:
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-5506/6mkv6ki9v?a=view
b install nfs://10.102.6.185/jumpstart/jumpstart.tar
but I get the following error message:
Boot File: install
Run Error: File not found
unused arguments: nfs://10.108.6.186/jumpstart/jumpstart.tar
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you so much in advance!
first of all, this line:
<j2se version="1.5" -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true"/>
is completely invalid, try
<j2se version="1.5"/>
<property name="sun.java2d.d3d" value="false"/>
<property name="sun.java2d.noddraw" value="true"/>
the main problem may be the mismatched quotation marks in this line.
secondly, all of the file URLS are malformed URLS:
"file:///\\Apgra7atc-6496d\dfrank$\war\app\"
should be:
"file:/Apgra7atc-6496d/dfrank$/war/app/"
backslashed are not seperators in a url.

OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format - network install problem
Hello to all.
I get a call to install this printer in a small network of three computers. All of them are Windows XP 32bit. Install process is fine till one point. Printer is recognized on the network. Address is given by DHCP server on ADSL router. Install program see it and when I click 'next' I see in dialog box 'printer detected'. Few seconds after that large red 'X' shows on screen. No message, no error number. Nothing. Then I input IP address through web browser. Printer details are shown. Ink level, IP address, MAC address etc. There I changed IP address to static. Went to other two computers and repeat installation proces. Same thing again. After two hours I was crazy. Connected printer to every PC with USB cable. Install it as local and then changed port from USB to IP address. They can print on it through network but there are some other issues. MSI error started when windows started. I belive it shows because of that kind of installation. But rest of the problems are strange. Their CAD software lags. Saving time was 2 to 10 seconds before installation of OJ7000 and now is minute to minute and a half. When I removed software and printer from one PC saving time was again OK. On owners computer HP image software stopped to respond and he can't use scanner as he did before. Also, they have HP ploter, one laser A4 printer, and K8600 printer wich is on repair. Because of that they bought 7000 model. Does anyone knows why I can't setup printer normally as network when it is visible on the network and I can access all features over the web browser? I need info ASAP if it's possible. Local HP office told me to try HP support chat but they don't have support for that model of printer.
Thank you in advance.Me again. Problem solved! Small HP tool for installing network printers did the work. Now I just have to find solution for Image Zone software and it's error.
One note about that HP software. If you can, provide driver file for printer and prepare it before you start setup software. Installation process is faster and very easy. -
Solars 10 x86 1/06 install problem - empty bootloader
Hi,
I'm trying to install 1/06 on a noname AMD X2, on a SATA disk. Had the previous version installed without problems, but 1/06 wouldn't show any options in GRUB. After booting from DVD, GRUB shows me the version number, no options to choose from, and the GRUB prompt. Tried on different machines the same on all.
Any help would really be appreciated.
cheers
crayLooks like Solaris 10 x86 1/06 GA has got an issue with GRUB. I've downloaded Solaris Express (nv-b27a) CD-isos, now GRUB & the installation are working fine. Just wondering if I was the only one having this issue (as I've tested it on 3 different machines and on VPC it most likely wasn't a HW-issue).
Cheers

Win2k3 64 x86 and Appex instalation problems (missing OHS on companion CD)
Oracle guys,
I do understand that Windows is not preffered OS for Oracle...but most of us Oracle people have laptops and on them Windows OS (from Win2k, Win XP, Win2k3, Win2k364...tomorrow maybe Vista).
<br><br>So we, with new 64 bit CPU, would like to use all the potential of the hardware. I do not want to describe why 2k3 is very stable and secure platform...but after Win2k this is one of the most complete OS from MS (IMHO).
<br><br>So, please give us a note what to do if we want to use Win2k3 64 server x86 version and Oracle10gR2 64 for x86 and want to develop Appex on this database.
<br><br>Missing point is OHS (it is not on companion CD)-so any suggestion what to do is appresciated (If standalone Appache is solution please let us know which version would suite best...and do we have to install "mod" parts...
<br><br>P.S.
<br>I know that Win2k3 64 bit and Oracle WinNT32 is not recommended combination (I have some listener problems so I decided to quit this combination)...so I'm exploring Oracle 64 bit usage-but now I'm stucked!
<br><br>P.S. II
<br><br>I have put this question on Appex group but no reply at all (some other users have joined me in questioning this). So please if this is not the right place, could you lead me where to post this topic?
<br><br>THX!How about installing HTTP server as Oracle Application Server 10g. Even if it is not supported it may work since this is just for development on your laptop.
Alternatively install Database XE which comes with Apex 2.1 ( but not the latest version 2.2).
I have just hit the same problem. I have installed database and companion 10 R2 10.2.0.1.0 with patch 4547918 to 10.2.0.2 on my MS WIN x86 64 bit laptop. I wanted to install Apex 2.2 on top but have no HTTP server. Thanks for pointing out the release notes.
The getting stated page of the documentation on the companion cd states you can install the following 2 installation types:
* Oracle Database 10g Products: Includes Oracle Database Examples, natively compiled Java libraries for Oracle JVM and Oracle interMedia, and knowledge bases for Oracle Text.
* Oracle Database 10g Companion Products: Includes Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Workflow, and Oracle HTML DB.
But as we have found you can only install Products not Companion Products on 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows(x64). -
Hi all,
windows xp
I'm trying to install oracle 11g client. I double click the setup.exe icon and then the dos window appears and says that it passed the screen test. Then the window closes and then nothing, the oui doesn't appear.
Any ideas???No errors
OUI
Using paramFile: C:\client11g-windows\install\oraparam.ini
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors. Actual 4294967296 Passed
The commandline for unzip:
C:\client11g-windows\install\unzip -qqqo ..\stage\Components\oracle.jdk\1.5.0.1.1\1\DataFiles/"*.jar" -d "C:\DOCUME~1\Thing\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall2009-11-23_08-05-39PM"
And nothing in the windows event logs
I have a oracle client 10g already installed, that worked fine. I installed it a week ago. -
Cumulative Update 3 client update install failed with code 1642
We have SCCM 2012 R2 and recently updated to CU3
Existing client is version 5.00.7958.1000
Pushing update package created during CU3 update failing on some computers
I am trying to update some of laptops using CU3 x86 update and getting following errors
Script for Package:ABC00126, Program: Cumulative update 3 - x86 client update install failed with exit code 1642
I have reviewed many forms but couldn't find relevant.
Update works on about 70% on machines with same image but failed on rest with same 1642 error
Same issues occurs applying client on during TSequence on some of machines.
It is very inconsistent,
Any help would be greatly apprciated
Thanks

Solaris 10 Network Install TFTP problem
Hi,
I tried to create jumpstart through network install with Solaris 10.
I'm running into trouble of TFTP problem when trying to add_install_client.
Here is the error I got:
./add_install_client xxx sun4u
svcprop: Couldn't find object for FMRI "network/tftp/udp6:default/:properties/restarter/st ate".
enabling network/tftp/udp6 service
svcadm: Pattern 'network/tftp/udp6' doesn't match any FMRIs, ignoring
On the client side, when I do "boot net - install", I get ARP/RARP error, obviously, the TFTP was not set up right on the server.
I could not find tftpd on the server, anyone has any suggestion what I should do to get tftpd running?
Thanks!Hi,
i don't now, why it is like it is, there is no xlm manifest for the smf, but there is a "simple"solution:
edit the /etc/inet/inetd.conf, unremark the line for tftpd. Than, when restarting the inetd with "kill -HUP <prozessnumber of inetd", you get a message in /var/adm/messages:
......... inetd[185]: [ID 702911 daemon.warning] Configuration file /etc/inet/inetd.conf has been modified since inetconv was last run. "inetconv -i /etc/inet/inetd.conf" must be run to apply any changes to the SMF
Just do what it say's: "inetconf -i /etc/inet/inetd.conf", and you get the smf entry:
# svcs | grep tftp
online 19:05:27 svc:/network/tftp/udp6:default
now it is online, and you can stop and start it with svcadm.

Hello guys,
Problem has been solved -
Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.
1. If you install 64 bit oracle this is not an issue. Install 64 bit oracle.
2. Download odp.net 32 bit from below link:-
ODP.NET Managed Driver Beta Download</title><meta name="Title" content="ODP.NET Managed Driver B…
3. installed the odp.net.
4. open the visual studio 2010.
5.Select new - project - asp.net web application - project name -ok
6.select tools- > connect to database- then follow the following steps
i> user name - your user name/client username (example -- hr)
ii> password -- enter your password/client password (example- hr)
iii>select connection type -- if you want to connect client database then- select EZ connect other wise select tns
iv>test the connection- then you will get connection succeed.
v> then click ok
Thanks
ChandrashekharYou do not need to do anything in VS. You do need to configure both tnsnames.ora files, because the drivers do not share any data.

hi friends ,
My report Fetch from the orcle database , we installed Oracle 10g and 11g - clent 32 -bit on win 2k8 -64 bit machine .while design time runing fine,but ofter depolyement im facing below issue.
In error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)

Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
Any help is greatly appreciated, I have tried couple of solutions going through some threads online but no use and place dt tell install 1og r 11g 64-bitHi,
Based on the error message, we should confirm whether Oracle client tool has been installed on the Report Server at the beginning. If the Report Server installed is 64-bit, we should also install a 64-bit Oracle client tool on the Report Server. Besides, we
can also try to bypass tnsnames.ora file when connecting to Oracle by specifying all the information in the data source instead of using the TNS alias to connect
to the Oracle database. Please see the sample below:
Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(CID=GTU_APP)(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST= server01.mydomain.com)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=OracleDB)(SERVER=DEDICATED)));

Hope this helps.

Can Cloud Control 12c be on the Exadata client network?
Hi, there,
We’re trying to configure our brand new X3 machine but we’re having a problem with connecting our Cloud Control OMS to it (the install of the agents fails because it can't connect to the hostname we provided on the management interface). We’re running the latest and greatest Exadata stack (11.2.3.2.1, 11.2.0.3.18) and we’re running Cloud Control 12.1.0.2
The OMS server – oem12oms – is on the same subnet as the client network on the Exadata comp nodes. However, when we try to ping the management hostname of the comp nodes (the docs say using the client hostname is not supported until 12.1.0.3) from the OMS server, we have no success:
For instance:
oem12oms – 10.50.50.122 (running on eth0)
exadbclient1 – 10.50.50.123 (running on eth1 on the first comp node)
exadbclient2 – 10.50.50.124 (running on eth1 on the second comp node)
exadbadm1 – 10.75.100.23 (running on eth0 on the first comp node)
exadbadm2 – 10.75.100.24 (running on eth0 on the second comp node)
From oem12oms, when both eth0 and eth1 are up on the comp nodes, it fails:
traceroute exadbadm1 (10.75.100.23)
10.50.50.1 (the default gateway for both the client network and the Exadata comp node itself)
Then goes nowhere
When we shut down the eth1 interface, I am able to access the management interface from my OMS server:
traceroute exadbadm1 (10.75.100.23)
10.50.50.1 (the default gateway for both the client network and the Exadata comp node itself)
exadbadm1 (10.75.100.23)
We have rules/routes which set on the comp node (by default) that dictate all traffic from:
the management interface (eth0) uses routing table 220 and comes from 10.75.100.xxx and goes out the same interface on 10.75.100.xxx.
the client (eth1) uses routing table 221 and comes from 10.50.50.xxx and goes out the same interface on 10.50.50.xxx
Essentially, while we want to tell incoming traffic NOT to go out a different interface to which it came in, I think we want to workaround this for one exception: the OMS server’s IP address (10.50.50.122) should come in from the MANAGEMENT interface (not the client) and go out the MANAGEMENT interface.
There are a lot of references to advanced Linux network policies, etc. And we’ve read 1306154.1. However, it doesn’t seem to solve our problem and we’ve tried all the ways that we can think of: essentially, it looks like Exadata cannot connect to clients over the management interface which live on its client network (obviously, it will still be able to be accessed through the SCAN addresses), so your Cloud Control cannot be on the client network.
I haven’t read anything which states this, but that’s how it looks to us.
Anyone had this issue before? Our ACS engineer is stumped and has asked around internally to no avail.
MarkMark,
I read your article about this - it's the best article out there by a LONG way, but it still confuses me because of my eye-popping ignorance. Well done, though, because I almost understood it so you're clearly skilled in explaining complex stuff to untrained monkeys
Oracle don't appear to know about this issue, which astounds me. We can't be the only customer who has their client network on their 'main' network. We've had two ACS engineers who have been flummoxed by this and have tried to reach out to the 'internal guru' network in Oracle with joy.
I tried to type out what I should do (the configuration is in a mess right now, so I haven't tried this out yet). This is to get things clear in my mind.
OMS server: 10.50.50.122 (client interface - uses the same subnet as the 'general Production' network)
DB Comp Node 1: 10.75.100.23 (management interface - uses an exclusive subnet for Exadata management hostnames)
First, we add a custom routing table 230 to the /etc/iproute2/rt_tables
echo 230 >> /etc/iproute2/rt_tables
Then we need to inform the magical, mysterious routing database of this new table and what we want to do with it:
Add a route to direct traffic from the OMS server (client network) to the comp node (management network) using table 230
Add a rule which tells traffic from the OMS server to use table 230 (with higher priority than other rules)
Add a rule which tells traffic from the comp node to use table 230 (with even higher priority)
ip route add 10.50.50.122/32 via 10.75.100.23 dev eth0 table 230
ip rule add from 10.50.50.122 prio 32750 table 230
ip rule add to 10.75.100.23 prio 32751 table 230
The ifcfg files look OK so I didn't see the need to change them.
I thought I'd add a route associated with routing table 230 to the rule-eth0 file so that it has two entries (added the last two lines)
The first entry uses table 220 to route traffic coming in on the management interface to the management interface
The second (new) entry uses table 230 to route traffic coming from the OMS server (client network) to the management interface
from 10.75.100.23 table 220
to 10.75.100.23 table 220
from 10.50.50.122 table 230
to 10.75.100.23 table 230
Then I'd change the route-eth01 to add the new rule (added the last line)
The first entry tells anything coming in from the management interface to use the eth0 NIC and table 220 (which instructs anything coming from the management network to stay on the management network)
The second entry tells anything coming in from the management interface gateway to do the same (eth0 NIC and table 220)
The third entry (new) tells anything coming from that specific IP address to route to the management IP of the comp node via eth0 but using our new table 230
10.75.100.0/24 dev eth0 table 220
default via 10.75.100.1 dev eth0 table 220
10.50.50.122/24 via 10.75.100.23 eth0 table 230
This should mean that the rules/routes will be statically configured so when we restart the network services or the entire box, it should save them?
Does that look as it would make sense? The whole thing SEEMS to make perfect sense and seems easy when reading about it, but doesn't seem to play nicely when you come to actually implement it.

Network install through multicast ASR
*Environment*
Server: Mac OS X server tiger 10.4.11 serving DHCP
Clients: Over 50 MacBooks
**What I want to complete**
Client MacBooks will boot from the server and retrieve the image loaded on the server through multicast asr so that I can install 50 laptops at one time from single image
**What I have done**
Run the "asr -source /Images/client.dmg -server /Users/administrator/Desktop/asr.plist" and got "Ready to start accepting clients". (client.dmg was built by using Bombich's NetRestore Helper)
**Problem I got**
When booting up the Macbook clients by holding down the "N" key, the clients could not boot from network to retrieve the image successfully
**Questions I have**
1. On the server, what services do I need to run other than the DHCP service?
2. What else did I miss?
Thanks much!
Message was edited by: RabbitSFThanks very much for the quick response, foilpan.
I now start the Netboot and NFS services. On the NetBoot Settings, I have the Ethernet Port enabled and the Client.dmg image enabled and set as Default, Protocol is NFS. The Architecture is PowerPC, I want to change it to Intel but it grayed out and I can't change it. (The Client.dmg is built from a Snow Leopard machine.)
But it is still not working when tried to boot the client. The client got no problem getting an IP from the server. I can see that from the DHCP service.
Anything I did wrong? Does the Architecture matter?
Thanks much again! -

Hello,
we have the following configuration:
S.O. : Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5
Apache : 2.2.15
Coldfusion 10 Standard update 12
SElinux disable
Iptables disable
Configuring / etc / httpd / conf / mod_jk.conf
# Load mod_jk module
Jk_module LoadModule " / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so "
# Where to find workers.properties
JkWorkersFile " / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/workers.properties "
JkMountFile " / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/uriworkermap.properties "
# Where to put jk logs
JkLogFile " / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.log "
# Where to put jk shared memory
JkShmFile " / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/jk_shm "
# Set the jk log level [debug / error / info]
JkLogLevel info
# Select the timestamp log format
JkLogStampFormat " [ % a% b % d% H:% M: % S % Y ]"
AddHandler jakarta- servlet. Cfm . Cfml . Cfc . Cfr. Cfswf
In the log / opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.log observe the following errors:
[ Tue Dec 03 10:29:53 2013] [ 3754:140076806252512 ] [info ] jk_ajp_common.c ajp_process_callback :: (1954 ) : Writing to client aborted or client network problems
[ Tue Dec 03 10:29:53 2013] [ 3754:140076806252512 ] [info ] jk_ajp_common.c ajp_service :: ( 2629 ): ( cfusion ) sending request to tomcat failed ( unrecoverable ) , Because of client write error ( attempt = 1 )
[ Tue Dec 03 10:29:53 2013] [ 3754:140076806252512 ] [info ] jk_handler :: mod_jk.c ( 2718 ) : Aborting connection for worker = cfusion
Can anyone tell how to solve this problem because the connection between apache and coldfusion degrade coming to collapse the system.Not my particular environment Linux Apache however the way I read the mod_jk log content is very similar or same as this other thread and detail in isapi_redirect log on Windows IIS environment.
Thread:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/5878493#5878493
MOD_JK log sample:
[info ] jk_ajp_common.c ajp_process_callback :: (1954 ) :
Writing to client aborted or client network problems
[info ] jk_ajp_common.c ajp_service :: ( 2629 ):
( cfusion ) sending request to tomcat failed ( unrecoverable ) ,
Because of client write error ( attempt = 1 )
[info ] jk_handler :: mod_jk.c ( 2718 ) :
Aborting connection for worker = cfusion
ISAPI_redirect log sample:
[info] ajp_process_callback::jk_ajp_common.c (1984):
Writing to client aborted or client network problems
[info] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2684):
(cfusion) sending request to tomcat failed (unrecoverable),
because of client write error (attempt=1)
[info] HttpExtensionProc::jk_isapi_plugin.c (2289):
service() failed because client aborted connection
Where I am seeing that sequence of log, CF10 IIS is not having any issue so it may not actually relate to the CF10 not responding. I would like to find a glossary of tomcat messages and the meaning however I have not got an
interpretation to that log sequence. I will add the sites for me that have those logs have BYO wireless clients and it would be fair to say those users do not log off CF application however just close their browser or lid of laptop. Neither have I been able to reproduce the environment to cause that log detail so merely guess from me rather than statement of fact.

Install problem Error with Z drive
Our IT guys configure our machines with a Z drive as a network share. Any ideas how to resolve the conflict with PE9 install.
Thanks
DavidI did not pick the Z drive for install. I always pick the C drive if given the option. But PE9 just went to work on its own and told me it could not install to the Z drive... there is a known issue posted here along these lines, however, so I think Adobe is on to it... of course i had to install as a trial version on a second machine to test the disk burning...then I have to solve the install problem, so I can install the license on the machine with the install problem.... all a big catch 22. Here's the link on the install issue... I get the 1327 invalid drive error:

Has Apple fixed the audio encoding problem?
As many other people seems to have experienced before me, iDVD6 stops working when encoding audio. Everything works before that step but when it reaches the "Audio Encoding" sequence iDVD stops working. Did Apple fix the problem? What else can we do?
