XBOX Live Vision Camera

I apologize if this topic has been covered, but I couldn't find a solution among the previous discussions. I have an XBox Live Vision camera which other Mac users say is "plug and go," but nothing happens when I plug the camera in. ( I hope to use the camera with IChat or Skype) The computer is not recognizing the camera at all. Is my computer too old?

Go Back to the iChatUSBCam page and their Camera Guide
Should be able to work out from there what is popular and what is likely
You want one that has or you can get a Mac Driver for (either macam or IOXperts).
There are two tables.
The second lists older out of Production items (You may find these still on someone's shelf though)

  • Upgraded to extreme and can no longer connect to xbox live

My old airport express died so yesterday I bought an airport extreme to replace it. I had no problems setting it up, my powerbook and powermac connect to the internet just fine. My ps3, wii, and apple tv all connect fine. However I lost the ability to connect to xbox live with my xbox360. Running the "Test Xbox Live Connection" test shows that it passes all the tests and is connected to the internet until it reaches the xbox live test where it fails. According to xbox support there are no current outages or problems with my account.
Since the only thing which has recently changed is the upgrade from airport express to an extreme it seems like that is likely the problem. I thought it might be a NAT or port thing but in the airport setup utility there are no options for changing either NAT or port settings.
Any ideas anyone? It looks like a year ago when the extreme came out there were problems between it and the xbox, but it also looks like they were resolved. Also they caused the xbox not to be able to connect to the network at all, which mine can do.
Thanks very much for any ideas or help. Otherwise the extreme is going to have to go back.

    That's a drag.
I wish I could be more help, but I can not think of what the problem would be. I have mine connected to a network that bridges two AEBS to allow for a large area WIFI. I have no problems with either of the 360's connected. I have no special port forwarding or any settings changed to get the connection.
I also know that since I just replaced my main base station for an unrelated problem, that it worked out of the box both times.
I would say try direct connecting it. (the xbox) Not necessarily to correct the problem, but to isolate the AEBS as the problem. I would also try shutting down anything else that may be connecting so you only have a connection with your xbox. Again, none of this will probably solve your issue.... but you can get in contact with customer care or visit a genius bar.
In my experience if you can give detailed results to test you have already performed to trouble shoot, they are very receptive to replacing your product. Isolating the AEBS and saying you know t will connect direct, and that even when it is the only device connected.... it fails. I would also try both wireless and wired if you have both options.
I know it is not the optimal answer.... probably a pain.... but sometimes things just work kinda goofy. I know the stuff works and works great when it does... but I have had my share of issues with apple hardware. The good news is they have never failed me when it comes to taking care of it.
    Good Luck !!!

  • Been complaining about lag on xbox live for a year and Verizon is now ignoring me.

For the past year and a half I have been complaining to verizon about the horrible xbox live service I am getting. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong. I have tried four different routers(verizon and non-verizon with updated firmwares), tried both coax and ethernet, switched every ethernet line twice, played on a 5 foot cable in my garage, had my ont switched, and my fiber re-spliced. Verizon claims nothing is wrong and have tried to get me to stop complaining by telling me "fios is too fast for xbox because games are designed for high latency connections and because fios has no latency slower connections can't keep up so it feels laggy." I posted that response on a xbox gaming forum and promptly had 10 people tell me FIOS runs great on their xbox.
So obviously the problem lies beyond my network and verizon is doing nothing to fix it. I have had a technician come out at least six times and all they run is a speed test. I am getting the speed I am provisioned at but ALL my xbox live games are unplayable online. I believe the problem lies in the first public hop outside because when I run a line quality test,(https://secure.dslreports.com/pingtest) I get an error that says  "50ms or more latency between your ip address and your first public internet hop could certainly be bettered with a quality connection"
Just to be sure it wasn't unique my house I walked around my neighborhood and found 2 open wifi networks that were on FIOS and ran the same test. Both of them came back with the same error as me and both had the same first hop as me. To make sure that error wasn't normal for FIOS users I asked those poeple on the xbox live forum to run the test and tell me the results. Every single one of them passed the first hop test and had nearly half the latency, (Here are a few of them) I supplied this information and now they are ignoring me.
Is there any mod or technician here that can provide me with contact information for someone who will look into and fix this problem for me? I believe I have provided significant proof that this problem is not in my network and calling an 800 number and opening a ticket does not help. I have been complaining for a year and a half and nothing has been done. I have lost practically all my xbox live friends because of this and would like to be able to play now that I have more free time. A phone number or email would be great. BTW I am in orange county, CA if that helps.
    Thx

  • How to connect to Xbox Live with the Actiontek GT704-WGB wireless router

If the title got you here, then you are probably a Verizon DSL customer who is trying to connect your Xbox to Xbox Live with the Actiontek GT704-WGB wireless router and are getting nothing but errors saying, "your NAT is set too high", or, "Your MTU setting is too low", etc.  Well, after many calls to Xbox support, Actiontek support, and Verizon support, I finally came up with the solution myself.
All that is needed is a little techie know-how about router settings and you'll do just fine!  However, if you are uncomfortable with doing it yourself (and it is really really easy to do!) then you can call Verizon support and have a tech support rep remotely conntect to your PC and make the changes for you: however, you have to speak with someone in advanced tech support and to do that you have to agree to a 1 year support contract to the tune of $14.95 per month in order for them to do it!  Scam???  You be the judge!
So, here are the steps to take to get it working and by the way, YOU CAN NOT GET THE XBOX TO CONNECT TO THIS ROUTER WIRELESSLY!!  YOU MUST CONNECT YOUR XBOX TO THE ROUTER WITH AN ETHERNET CABLE IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK!!!  If you don't heed this warning, you will unfortunatly go through all the steps below, only to find that you get the same errors but, ethernet is faster than wireless so it's better!....right?.....right?   (hears crickets chirping)....right?  Oh well, I tried!  Also, you must have your Xbox on in order to change the router settings (which you'll see why later) Anyway, here's the steps:
    1) On your PC, open a browser window and type in the address bar:  192.168.1.1 and press enter.
    2) You will then see the interface on which you will make changes to the router's settings.  If at any time you are prompted for a username and password (which should happen right after you press enter) the defaults are: username: admin password: password.  If you have changed these, enter what you changed them to.
3)Click on the icon on the top labelled "Advanced Setup"
4)In the left section, click "WAN IP Address"
5)At the warning screen, click "yes"
6)Scroll down until you see "MTU setting" and enter 1370.  NOTElease don't be tempted to either enter 1500 or leaving it at 1500 (which is the default) because you might know that 1500 is the maximum at which this can be set which is TOO HIGH AND WILL NOT WORK!  Trust me and enter 1370 and then click on "apply"
7)Click on the top icon labelled "Security"
8)In the left column, click on "applications".  This is where we are going to open the 3 ports that Xbox Live uses to communicate with your Xbox.
9)In the drop down box labelled "PC Name" select "Xbox 360". This is why you had to have your console on and connected cuz if you didn't, it would not show up on the drop down list!
10)Under "category" click on the bubble next to "user"
11)Click on "New" which is one of the blue buttons near the bottom.
12)As for the rule name, I entered "Xbox" but you can put whatever you want but I'd use that so you know it's the ports you opened for the console.
13)For protocol, select TCP. (Yes you will also open the same ports for UDP but for some reason if you select TCP.UDP instead of doing them seperatly it doesn't work.....I dunno why!?
14)For all 3 "Port start", "Port End", and "Port Map Start" put the # 80.
    15)Click "apply"
16)Now, select UDP and put the same port # 80 and again click "apply"
17)Repeat steps 13 through 16 except with the numbers 3074 and 53, clicking apply after each one.  What you should have now on the bottom are a list of all the ports you opened, one TCP and one UDP for each number totalling 6 entries.
18)Click "back" to return to the Applications screen.
19)If you have to, select Xbox 360 for PC name, and click the bubble next to "user" and you'll now see the entry called "Xbox" or whatever you called it.
20)Click that entry to highlight it and then click the blue "add" button to the left and then click "apply" at the bottom.
21)Close the browser screen and turn off your PC and Xbox and any other hardware connected to the router.
22)Turn the router off and unplug it and wait about 5 minutes.  It can take this long for any residual current in the router to dissapate and for the NAT table to clear itself.
23)Turn on the router and wait for the internet light to come on green meaning the router has booted and has an internet connection.
24)Turn on the Xbox AND ONLY THE XBOX!
25)There is no need to go into network setting as when the Xbox is connected by ethernet, it automatically configures and connects intself.  You can, however go into network settings and perform a connection test but this to is not necessary.
You now should be able to connect to Xbox Live!  If not, you've done something wrong and must either go through all the steps again or let Verizon do it for you (for a fee that is).

I followed jtktlw's instructions to the letter.  Problem was I had already enabled UPnP before doing so.  Afterward I disabled UPnP and rebooted....no change.  I reset the MTU to 1500...boom, it works.  Seems for me all I needed was to open the right ports to get it to work.

  • WRT54G Can't play on xbox live and connect wirelessly to router or internet from comp at same time

    Hi guys.
I have a WRT54G and since I have had it I havent been able to connect wirelessly to see my router or get online form my comp while my xbox 360 is on xbox live. My other computer though, which is wired, can connect online anytime wether the xbox 360 is on line or not. Any help would be nice.

I have a similar problem to this. I do some online gaming, and while my roommates are playing XBOX live (which is a lot now that halo 3 came out) I cant even connect, and if i do connect i get such a high latency it is unplayable. I would also greatly appreciate any help on this issue.

  • Xbox Live on Lumia 800?

I have a Lumia 800 and didn't came with Xbox Live on it. Maybe some country/region stuff in which I understand is Xbox Live is not available in the Philippines. Instead I have the "Games Hub" where all my downloaded games can be found.
Recently. A bunch of Xbox Live games became available in the market. And I tried downloading one that is free. The "Flowers Game". When I downloaded it. I cant seem to find it anywhere on my phone. Is it because I dont have Xbox Live? How do I install Xbox Live or resolve this in another way?
    Thanks.

    User error on my part...
I'm happy to report all functions of the MM450 are working beautifully with my Lumia 800 (e.g. full zune control, making/recieving calls).  The two devices are a match made in heaven.
    Cheers...

  • Time Capsule, Airport Express and Xbox Live

Recently I went out and bought a Time Capsule 1TB hoping to extend my wireless network. I knew that Apple products wouldn't usually help extend a DLINK network so it came as no surprise when I could not extend my DLINK network. My solution was to buy a new Airport Express, disable the wifi on the DLINK router and extend the Airport Expresses network via the Time Capsule.
The current situation is: DLINK <-> Ethernet <-> Airport Express Wireless Time Capsule <-> Ethernet <-> Xbox360
The issue is the Time Capsule as far as I can see. For apparently no reason it will change from a solid green status light to a flashing amber status light. Signing my Xbox into Xbox Live seems to be a trigger, but the Time Capsule goes amber even when the Xbox isnt on at all. When it does change to flashing amber I am no longer able to detect it within Airport Utility and as such am unable to diagnose the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Here it works fine. I have a Time Capsule connected to my ADSL modem. I had to buy an all new Airport Express 802.11n, though, because my old AE could not extend my network.
On an all 802.11n setup you just check the "Allow this network to be extended" on the master (Time Capsule), and choose "Extend a wireless network" on the remotes.
The X-Box is connected with an Ethernet cable to the Airport Express, and connection to X-Box Live works fine.
    Good luck!

  • Haven't received code for $25 Xbox Live credit towards Titanfall Season Pass

A few days ago at a Best Buy store, I pre ordered the Titanfall Season Pass for Xbox One by paying for $25 in Xbox Live credit that would eventually be emailed to me on release day, March 11 (today). I haven't recieved the code yet which is very odd, since last year I pre ordered the Bioshock Infinite Season Pass in store and the XBL credit code came 30 min. to an hour after midnight on launch day. I don't know if this is normal, hence my last experience, but if anyone could help it would be gladly appriciated. I still have the original store receipt which I'm pretty sure can help. Thanks!

    Hello ShadowJumper117,
Thank you for choosing Best Buy to pre-order the Titanfall Season Pass! I’m really sorry that this experience hasn’t been as smooth as your last one, but I should be able to get this code for you. I was able to locate your transaction by using the email address attached to your forum account. It looks like the code was sent today, but to ensure you get this I will send you a private message with some additional information as well. You’ll be able to view this by logging on to the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Thanks for posting, and keep an eye out for that message.

  • Live! Cam Voice won't run on Windows Vista 64-bit OS

I recently upgraded my OS to Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. I downloaded the beta softwares (webcam driver & cam center) for my Creative Live! Cam Voice & everything looks fine until I run the Creative Live! Cam Center. Right after running the Cam Center & clicking Start it says initializing then my PC screen turns blue with several error message in it. My webcam also doesn't seems to work.

I am having a problem downloading to a new Windows Vista 64 machine. When I download using either IE or Firefox, the download gets to 14.7 MB and stops. Any ideas on why the download will not work?

  • Live! Cam Voice problems

Hi I'm using Windows Vista and I got a few problems about the Live! Cam Voice camera.
First I installed it, with the cable in the computer, then I read the cable shouldn't be in the computer so I uninstalled what was possible uninstalling and deleted the "Creative" directory which contained some files still. But now when I'm trying to install it I'm getting either some kind of "Setup.cpp" error, or I'm getting a "Setup.exe has stopped working". I've tried uninstalling it again but I'm still getting errors. How am I supposed to uninstall all of the installation so I can reinstall?
Also I don't get the manual of installing the Vista driver. It says something like "1. Install the package 2. Go to control>sound and change some options there". I didn't know where I should install it, so I installed it in default path and tried to open the .exe files and none of them were working. Are they supposed to be working?

Ok, I waited one day and now the setup is working, so now I inserted the cam when it told me to. But I still need to install the vista drivers, else it's telling me "No supported Live! Cam detected. Please plug in to continue...". How do I run the exe files and where should I extract the exe files? Or do I need to run them at all? Help please:S I'm using Vista 32 bit

  • Live! Cam Voice Shuts Down When Using Motion Detection Feature

I'm running XP Media Center 2002.
I just installed Live! Cam Voice. Started using it and is was fine out of the box. I updated the drivers and i also decided to update the drivers for my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS.
The problem only seemed to occur when using the Motion Detection. Shortly after using it, I'd get a Microsoft error prompting the WebCam Center to shut down.
First I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it using the original drivers on the supplied disk. I still had the problem. So i rolled back the drivers on my sound card. That seems to have fixed the problem... Thought you'd want to know.
To be clear the Cam driver I'm using is .0.8.206. I believe this is the one that came w/ the install disk. Hope this helps anyone else who's experienced similar problems.....

I have the same problem. I only get 6-7 fps max. I've never seen anything above 0 fps which is a disgrace. My computer is and Athlon64 X2 4800 with 2GB RAM so it's nothing to do with spec. This behaviour was the same in driver version .0.8 as well as the latest one... .0.02 or something.
Also, since the last driver update, the whitebalance and focus when on automatic is dreadful. I'm not impressed.

  • Live! Cam Voice - Microphone compatibility w/ Windows Vista Ultimate

I recently got the Live! Cam Voice for my computer with Windows Vista Ultimate. And for some reason the built in microphone won't work at all - even the voice recorder, the Yahoo! Messenger in which it was built for and Windows Live Messenger. However the actual webcam works fine. Is there anyway to get the microphone to be compatible with Ultimate?

    HELLO CREATIVE!!!

  • Live! Cam Voice + Windows 2000 - No video input

    Hi all,
Since purchasing my Live! Cam Voice, I've always used it with a Windows XP Home machine. Recently, though, I tried to use it with a laptop running Windows 2000 Professional. The installation process encounters no problems and applications like MSN Messenger detect the cam without any difficulty. However, when *any* application attempts to view video from the camera, nothing is returned but darkness (I have lights on :-P) - it's as though it's simply not been switched on. Anyone got any ideas for dealing with this?
    Mike
    If anyone's interested, the laptop's spec is . . .
Model - Compaq Armada M700 (USB2 connectivity provided via PCMCIA card)
    CPU - Intel P3 650Mhz
    Memory - 92MB
    HD - 6GB
Not sure about anymore details of the spec (graphics accelerator, etc) - I guess Googling for the model would give more details.

I am having the same problem. I am using windows Vista and have tried?recording sound in other applications and it works fine, just not when trying to record in LIVE! cam. I jbought this cam 2 months ago and just now find out it does not work when I need it the most. I am due to give a video presentation in two weeks and will probably have to buy a new cam, what a dissapointment!

  • Live!Cam Voice: video but no sound

I've installed the Live!Cam Voice, updated the driver too but I cannot get it to work. I does record the video, but there's no sound.
I've checked the sound settings both on the Live!Cam and windows. The Live!Cam settings are set to record using Live!Cam, whereas the windows sound settings, in control panel are set as follows:
    Audio
    Realtek AC97
    Sound recording
    Live!Cam Voice (mic)
The strange thing is that the Live!Cam microphone DOES work if I use it with Windows Accessory Sound Recorder.
Has anybody got an idea why there's no sound?
    Thank You
