XControl doesn't update listbox contents

I'm finally diving into XControls and after much frustration am finally getting some results. I must be making this harder than it is. Anyway, I'm trying to update a listbox in the control. When the string list comes from something like a static array the listbox updates fine. But when I try to get the strings from the List Folder VI, then I get nothing in the listbox. Are there some things you can't do inside the Facade VI? I know you can call subVIs because it's done in the example.
How do you probe what's going on inside the Facade VI? When I first started working with the control I could set the Highlight Execution and watch what was going on. Now it does nothing and the run arrow never even comes on in the Facade VI. Yet the control is definitely working.

Just on a side note, make sure that you bundle in a TRUE to the "State Changed?" element of the action cluster for each event case where you operate on the output data.
(This is a mistake I made a few times when I started playing with Xcontrols.)

Why webpage doesn't update its content (clearing cookies doesn't work)?

My problem is occuring all the time and I would beg on knees for some assist please. When I do within particular websites (not all but more than one) few changes, e.g. verify email address or verify financial information or adding particular data, etc, I am supposted to get some content changed within the web access. e.g. some menus should occur and/or some additional options available and/or different user access (example now verified instead of unverified), some additional drop down menu options, perhaps some images shown, perhaps banners removed and so on. So I am supposted to see some difference within the content. My problem is that I don't. I contacted support department and I asked them whether or not I entered needed details correctly. They told me everything is correctly saved and they even read to me typed information - everything what they read was correct, I really typed that. This means in the database is everything saved. However as I said I don't see any changed on my side within account. I asked what should be different and the answer was that some new buttons should occur, warning message gone and previously unavailable button should become available. Additional answer, received by representative, was that my browser is not being updated based on most recent actions within my account. Possible solution, provided by representative to me, is to wait for entire system update. I am waiting endlessly and still no content change. I cleared all cookies (cache). Used tools to clear and also CLEAR option within firefox's settings. Furthermore I cleared entire registry, rebooted computer and didn't help. Then i decided to shut down pc completely. Still nothing. Then I even tried restarting the router, still doesn't help. I made sure via several resources that I am NOT blocking any java, javascript, adobe, or whichever other content. The website doesn't require any particular firefox plugin. Also double checked the firefox is updated to the most recent version but nothing helps. I still don't get the content updated after I typed what I was supposted to within my account after I logged in. Called them again, once again representative told me everything is saved. However I need the website (browser) content updated (obviously im talking about the content update and not browser version update) in order to resume with next step of the procedure I am doing. Don't have the option to try different computer so please avoid suggesting that. I did secondary temporary account and same story there - same browser problem, content of the webpage, after doing some major work (e.g. typing bank account details or approving previously typed account details), is Not being updated. Could anyone please tell me what to do?

I just updated one of my webpages on my website, but could not see the updated page- the old version still showed. I restarted Firefox and tried to view the updated page again, and still the old version showed. Then I had the idea to CLEAR EVERYTHING as the default tool in vsn 37.0.2 is set up from the History, View Recent History option. It took a long time for everything to clear, but when I then tried to view my updated webpage, it showed this time updated. Am I supposed to periodically CLEAR EVERYTHING for Firefox to pick up updated webpages?

Bound XControl doesn't update when not visible

Hi all,
I'm running into an issue with XControl binding and missed Data Change events. In particular I have a VI with a single subpanel. The VI loads and asynchronously runs multiple different subVIs, and handles swapping the subVIs into and out of the subpanel. So far, so good.
The problem I have is that each of these subVIs contains multiple XControls, each of which is bound to a shared variable. When the subVI is visible in the subpanel, the bound XControl receives Data Change events without issue. The bound XControls in the other subVIs don't receive any Data Change events, and when the subVI is loaded into the subpanel, all of the XControl data is stale. I've verified the subVIs are running correctly, and that simple numeric controls which are bound do correctly update when the subVI isn't visible.
This appears related to the issue(s) mentioned in this thread from 2006 (!), for which a CAR was raised (41OGGULG).
Was this issue ever resolved?
For now my workaround is to bind a control within the XControl (which does work), but this will only work for simple datatypes to be displayed. For complex data types requiring additional prcoessing for display, this is still an issue. Is there anything else I can do to get around this problem?

I've looked at our CAR database and a previous SR having to deal with this CAR. It seems that the answer given by RnD is that the workaround is the "final solution" having to deal with this CAR. Please post this on our idea exchange (http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-Idea-Exchange/ct-p/ideas) and keep an eye out for fixes in future versions of LabVIEW!

TS4083 Is there a way or a setting my folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC, my folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manua

Is there a way (or a setting) for my individual folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? For example, if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC - say 10th of the following month - the same folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manually. Interestingly though, if I create a new folder on any of my devices they automatically appear on the other devices so it is just the actual contents that I am referring to here. Appreciate any help or guidance.

You can turn mail off in the settings but then you can't use it for anything, including the "test" that you want to perform.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account Name>Mail>Off. That totally turns off the mail account.
As long as mail is turned on and you launch the app, it will look for an download new mail.

Update Modified Content (Linked layers / Smart objects)

Hey guys,
Is there anything in the API for handling the new Linked layers? (CC 14.2)
Specifically, I want to be able to Update Modified Content iteratively to handle lots of nested links.
It doesn't have to be pretty, just functional, as this is a very complicated task to do manually.

Edit: One problem, though: the list in the XMP metadata may not be up to date if the file has not been saved since the last linked SO has been placed or embedded.

ConfigMgr 2012 Update Source content deleted

I am experiencing a problem that is appears to be the same as the old thread here:

Rather than revive an old post, I thought it best to start my own.
We have a rather large environment (CAS +5 Primaries + Many DP's) and we are currently adding several new remote DP's each week. Each time a new DP is added it is placed in a Distribution Group and the "core" package content is sent
to it.
I have a problem where my Windows Update Packages keep failing due to content disappearing from the source folder location. This started some time ago, and is now becoming a regular event to correct. Not every day, but once a week or so.
The Update group has the updates all showing as "downloaded"
I have a report query that matches the updates to the "GUID" subfolder so I know all the content is there
I distribute the content from the CAS. Distrmgr.log shows all is good. Packagemgr.log on the Primaries show all is good
Client have been installing the updates as expected so the deployment does work
Days/weeks later, ALL the DP's will show as "failed" for that update package. Checking the distmgr.log shows that it is failing to distribute due to a missing source folder. I use my query to work out which update that subfolder GUID belongs to,
but it is already flagged as downloaded, and when trying to download it again CM just "skips" it thinking it already has the content in that package.
The "fix" is to download the same update to a new package instead. CM then does a proper check, realises it doesn't have the content and will download the update to the new package source location. I can then copy the missing GUID subfolder
from the new package into the original package and try the distribution again.
The problem now is that there are usually many folders missing, so distmgr.log will fail again on the next missing folder. Because it stops at the first error, repeating the above process is incredibly tedious when there are a lot of missing folders.
My current "solution" is to select ALL the updates that should be in the current package and download them all to a "Temp package" that isn't deployed or distributed anywhere. Then in future when the main deployment package fails, I just
"select all, copy" the contents of the temp folder into the original folder (skip duplicates) and it puts back all the missing content and distribution will work again.
We are not using ADR's for this content, although I do have an ADR for the Endpoint updates which go into a completely different distribution package.
*Something* is cleaning up or purging these folders from the source location, but I have no idea what process or mechanism this might be.
Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome.

Microsoft was working with me trying to identify what was deleting the folders, however nothing was appearing as the cause.
I just realised this morning that I had used the built-in CM12 Migration function some time back to migrate update packages and groups over to our second hierarchy but hadn't updated any of the migrated content since then. The migrated packages on the second
hierarchy still point to the same source location and so whenever my original hierarchy added content to the update packages, the second hierarchy would delete it because it though it was "orphaned" content.
This is something people will have to watch out for when using the migration wizard as the same type of issues will impact things like WIM boot image packages as well where the source content can be manipulated directly by the CM12 system on one hierarchy
without the other one being aware of that change.
At the moment the options are to either
Make sure you run a "migrate changes" job whenever you make changes to updates on your source hierarchy to keep them in sync
Manually make a copy of the source content to a different folder or location, then update the package source location on the migrated packages to point to that new content (undesirable for massively large content)
Create a scripted method to schedule regular migration jobs between the hierarchies (looking into this option now)

Updating XML content

Indesign crashes when updating incopy content

I'm having a lot of bother with (Mac) Indesign CS6 crashing when updating Incopy content. The problem first appeared after upgrading from CS4 to CS6 on OSX 10.6.8.
I've since upgraded to Mountain Lion (10.8.2) and the problem still persists (with fully updated InDesign 8.01 and Incopy).
Incopy is Windows version if that has any bearing on the issue.
The crash occurs when opening an Indesign document with Incopy content that has been edited. I can open the document if I choose not to update content, but ID will subsequently crash if I choose to manually update the content from the assignments dialog. This doesn't happen with all my documents - perhaps about 1 in 4 with Incopy assignments.
I can place the ICML files in a new Indesign document without incedent. In other words the ICML files don't appear to be corrupt.
Suggestions anyone?

Update Resource content

Hi KM Experts,
Is it possible and how can I update/create resource content?
There is the "IMutableContent" Interface but it doesn't provide any methods to update the content. For example I only want to update a txt file resource.

you can create new content and update your resource with the new content with something like this:
IContent newContent = new Content(...);
resource.updateContent(newContent);

Audio controller doesn't update

I've got a problem with the folio overlays audio controller .
in an article, i've imported an mp3 audio file and in folio overlay set the folder with the images.
It works great on the first page. with the the content collector tool, i placed the audio block on the other page.
The sound continues to play on page changing but the audio controller doesn't update.
Any Ideas ?

Yes, the overlay panel shows always the links to the primary folder.(copy-paste method or content collector method)
BTW : Our purpose was to propose to our readers a different audio ambiance in each article wich go along several pages. Not in in entire folio. We thought it would be nice if the readers could have the control of the audio via the controler during the reading. (it doesn't work with buttons). Does it make sense for you ? Or may be we were wrong ?
Waiting for an evolution of the overlay panel...we have to find another way.

Opening successive scripts doesn't update tab label

If you open different scripts, one after the other, using Ctrl+O, the label on the tab doesn't update., e.g.
* Ctrl+O and select file1.sql
(tab on worksheet says "file1.sql")
* Ctrl+O and select file2.sql
(tab on worksheet STILL says "file1.sql")
* Ctrl+O and select file3.sql
(tab on worksheet NOW says "file2.sql")
.. it's always one label behind.

I find that Ctrl-O doesn't work at all.
You can open the first script with ctrl-o, but subsequent attempts don't even open a file. Both tab and file contents remain the same. It also doesn't seem to remember the last directory used,
COntrast with using the Open button on the toolbar. This opens each new script in a new tab - which is the intended behaviour.
Clean 1.1.3 install on Windowws XP pro.

Doesn't update iCloud ID

My iPhone 3gS, iOS 6.0.1, doesn't update iCloud ID, while it's done on the others Apple device.
Settings >>> iCloud: I have the previous Id, so iCloud on iPhone does't work.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

Code doesn't update when uploading new files to website.

code doesn't update when uploading new files to website. I was using an old DW version for a long time then forced to upgrade when I bought my MacBook Pro. Now when I make changes to my pages and link to new files etc on my harddrive, when i upload the pages it won't image because the code still points to harddrive (this did not used to be a problem)... I manually changed the code on the web host site to point to the site and it loaded fine. But now my files on my harddrive also point to the web host files and now don't image on my computer. I never had to worry about this so far and wonder if the new version has a setting I'm supposed to be aware of so that I can design on my hardrive and upload and it knows that the files are being uploaded with it? Ugh hpe this makes sense - I'm NOT a webs designer and the new DW is way more than I use in it's technology.

This sounds like you have not defined your site in the site definition.
