Xdebug output colors [SOLVED]

I installed xdebug with pecl install xdebug.
I can't get xdebug to show colored output.
phpinfo() shows xdebug is enabled.
Here's my php.ini relevant portion:

SOLVED: Reading xdebug faq:
Q: Xdebug doesn't format output.
A: Make sure you have PHP's html_errors set to 1 in php.ini
php.ini had a line html_errors = Off. I just set it to 1

If you have ctrl+alt+backspace enabled to restart X (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … 27t_exit_X), does such a restart correct the colours?
Also have you tried using a different driver for your graphics card?

The AdobePDF virtual printer is a postscript device, so if you have a full version of Acrobat installed you can print seps to PDF, then print the PDF.

Choosing Output (Color) Settings When Creating A Photoshop PDF

I created an illustration in Photoshop (CS2). I worked in RBG. I'm transmitting it to a printer who requires that I send it as a PDF.
I make a copy of the original .psd file. I embed the fonts (rasterize text). I flatten the file. I do a Save As to save it as a PDF.
When I do the Save As, I embed color profile sRBG IEC61966-2.1.
Now I have to mark all the PDF settings in a series of display windows: General, Compression, Output, Security.
The one I'm having doubts about is the third group: the Output (Color) settings.
Here's my question:
Having embedded the RBG profile (sRBG IEC61966-2.1) in my PDF file, if I choose "No Conversion" and "Include Destination Profile," can I be sure that the printer will print my illustration using the embedded color profile sRBG IEC61966-2.1?

Thanks again for your very helpful feedback. Let me try to sum up what else I've learned, and to try to put the situation in perspective.
I did cover art for a guy who's self-publishing thru Createspace, which is a print-on-demand subsidiary of Amazon. I'm currently awaiting a proof to see how the colors turned out.
I work in Photoshp. Createspace requires cover art files to be submitted in PDF format. You can work in either RGB or CMYK, they say-- doesn't matter.
When I save my file (in Photoshop) as a Photoshop PDF, I can embed the color profile I used. In my case, that was sRGB IEC61966-2.1. And I did embed that profile. I also have to enter Output (Color) settings for the PDF. I went with "No Conversion" (i.e., stick with sRGB IEC61966-2.1) and "Include Destination Profile" (which I thought-hoped would be my embedded profile, again, sRGB IEC61966-2.1).
But I wasn't sure-- I have very limited experience submitting PDF files for print-- so I posted my question here. I also posted it to the Createspace Community Forum, and I also sent it to Createspace Tech Support.
The response I got in the CS Forum was very helpful-- FYI here it is:
"I participated in some of those discussion where no one seemed to agree on a correct answer -- and decided to try to find one (at least, for me and my projects). To that end, I designed a color reference sample booklet, dropped in color swatches working in RGB and CMYK, printed/distilled the pages to PDF using every reasonable combination of settings I could think of, and over the past couple of months have ordered proofs of each and compared the resulting colors to the colors in a commercial printer's 4-color process guide. When working in RGB, I got the most accurate color by selecting the "Convert to sRGB IEC61966-2.1" option and embedding the sRGB ICC color profile data. Obviously, I can't say if that's the right answer for someone else, but it was in my case."
And here's the not-so-helpful response I got from CS Support:
"We accept files in both the RGB and CMYK color spaces. We recommend maintaining all original artwork in Adobe RGB, which allows for the best possible conversion to our digital, CMYK printers.
I apologize that I am unable to offer specific information regarding which color space to use during file creation. We will accept either Adobe RGB or sRGB submissions - we do not recommend one over the other. Any images may be tagged with your choice of CMYK or RGB profiles or left untagged in a generic color space and as such, you are welcome to create your PDF files through any program or method you like.
It is because of the numerous programs and methods available that we are unable to give technical assistance with PDF creation.
I understand your desire to ensure accurate color reproduction; unfortunately, color management for books is not something that we offer at this time.
As you are required to order a proof before making a title available for sale, you will have the opportunity to review a physical copy to ensure you are satisfied with the color. After reviewing the proof copy, you may make adjustments to your files if necessary."
I also googled "color profiles" and "printing" and came across this statement:
"Many printers now prefer digital art files be supplied in the RGB color space with ICC profiles attached. Images can then be converted to the CMYK color space by the printer using color management methods that honor profiles if present; this helps preserve the best possible detail and vibrancy."
And I also found a very credible site (http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/adobe-rgb.htm) which said that Adobe RGB (1998) is, essentially, only used by niche photographers, and which recommended sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as the "universally accepted" RGB color profile.
Anyway--
Based on all the above, including your own feedback, I think I made the right choices-guesses for my PDF, at least for one being sent to Createspace: embed sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and specify "No Conversion" and "Include Destination Profile." At any rate, I'll get to see how closely the colors match when I finally see the proof.
Probably more than you wanted to know. Oh, well...

Setting text output color

Is there a way to change the color of text output through System.out.println()? I want to have some text be shown in bright white while the rest of the output is in its normal attribute. I considered using some kind of ANSI opcodes but that is not portable to other platforms!

New PB-dull colors-solved!!

Got a new PB and I was having this dull-color problem some have reported (not the scan lines) and did this to solve it.
System Preferences>Displays>>Color> Uncheck "Show Profiles For This Display Only" and select Apple RGB...thats it!! Defined, sharp colors now.

That's what I do as well. Colors aren't so washed out, and there's more contrast.

Failed to execute default file manager (Input /Output Error) [SOLVED]

I'm having an issue in XFCE where the default Terminal, Browser and File Manager launch correctly - but with this error:
Failed to execute default [file manager] [terminal emulator] [browser]
Input /Output Error
I have the requisite "Preferred Application" set as Chrome/Thunar/xfce4-terminal.
If I run
exo-open --launch FileManager
From terminal, it says:
[1] 4281 segmentation fault (core dumped) exo-open --launch FileManager
Remember, it launches the app successfully - and the apps themselves launch correctly, it's only exo-open that I have a problem with! Everything else works great on this system.

Tried downgrading glibc from 2.21-3 to 2.21-2 as this is the package which contains libpthread.so, and on my other arch workstations I don't have the issue, but to no avail, same error box pops up when using exo-open, and my IDEs are not starting.
I'll try comparing installed packages versions on both workstations.

Terminal colors vs Vim colors [SOLVED]

Hey guys!
I've been using vim since the very first day I started learning programming, and am now using it on my brand new arch system. Everything works really well so far, but I'm having a bit of trouble customizing colors. I wouldn't normally make a big deal out of it, but since I'm going to spend an enormous amount of hours using it for school and personnal projects, I'd really like to get all my colors right. I'm using an urxvt terminal, under awesome wm.

As you can see, vim uses a crap-looking, brownish-red color for line numbers and html tags. This color is not in any of the 16 I specified in .Xresources. I don't know where it comes from, but I would like for vim to use only these 16 colors. Is that possible? I assume it is, because most of my vim colors are changed whenever I edit them in .Xresources.
If not, I'd like to know how I can edit the colors vim uses myself. Thank you for reading!

You select a colorscheme (:help colorscheme) in your vimrc. The themes can use 256 colors, which I find nice once I customized the theme/scheme. But if you want to limit it to 16, just `set t_Co=16` in your vimrc.

Pulseaudio will not use USB for output? [SOLVED]

Odd problem. In pavucontrol I under Configuration I see my usb headset configured for stereo output and mono input, yet under Output and Input I do not see it listed. Has anyone had experience with this issue?

Force restarting pulseaudio fixed this. Couldn't tell you why.

Desktop in weird colors [SOLVED]

I'm using arch+xfce and my desktop is in all weird colors. I don't know if it's an XFCE thing or x.org.

That's funny. If you open the wallpaper in an image viewer such as Geeqie does it look correct?
What color depth is the root window using? It should be 24 bpp. I think you can check it by running "xwininfo" and then clicking on the desktop.
Other than that I think I'm out of ideas.

Printer Output Color Profile Inaccessible

Hello,
I was wondering if there was an option to set the destination color profile in the same manner Photoshop and Illustrator allow me to via the print dialog ("Let Photoshop Decide" vs "Let Printer Decide"). I typically have to bring the PDF into Photoshop or Illustrator to get that functionality which I find very frustrating - especially when someone else is trying to print photo quality using the custom profiles I've made.

Zsh (and Bash) Backgrounds Refuse to Change Color [SOLVED]

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but here goes.
I installed Arch about a week ago and decided that I wanted to change the color of the terminal. I followed the guide on the Arch Wiki, (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Color_Bash_Prompt), creating all of the necessary files and copy-and-pasting all of the given text into those files. When I restarted my terminal, nothing happened. Fed up, I tried installing Zsh + oh-my-zsh. I successfully installed the two and installed a zsh theme, but the background color still does not change. The text color, however, changes to the appopriate colors, but the background color remains white.
Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Edit: I didn't specify, but I really don't care which terminal I end up using, just as long as the colors work.

zsh and bash are shells, not terminal emulators. There is no "default" terminal, if you're using Arch. You had to install a terminal emulator at some point. Or maybe if you followed the beginner's guide you're using xterm. What window manager are you using?
There are ways to set the background color in rxvt and in xterm using your .Xresources file. Look at the wiki topic for each of those terminals for more information.
Maybe an easier method for you would be to install a terminal emulator that has menu support, like Terminator, LXTerminal, or Sakura. Then you can just right-click in the terminal and use the menu to set the background color and opacity.

(default setting of “PDF/X-1a:2001”).
Question 1: Resolution
They also have the instructions "PDF Output resolution should be set to 600dpi." Is this referring to the Compression pane (Bicubic Downsampling to 300)? I called the printer to confirm if this is what they were referring to, but was told they don't answer questions about making PDFs and that's why they encourage people to use their in-house designers.)
Question 2: Color Management
For the Distiller/Acrobat option, they have an instructional PDF which I followed, but on the Color Management Pane, they choose the option for Color Handling: "Let InDesign Determine Colors" and the Output color is Composite Gray. But when I get to the color handling option, I only have 2 options: "let PostScript determine" or "no color management." How do I get the InDesign option?
Question 3: Grayscale Text
Another requirement is that the "Interior text should be submitted as grayscale only." In Acrobat I can preflight and change to grayscale. But will solving the problem of #2 in creating a PostScript file take care of this?
Question 4: Error in Distiller
I get this error when I open Distiller: "Error in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/PDFX4 2007.joboptions:
/CheckCompliance out of range" However, the Postscript file goes through just fine as far as I can tell. I found a forum post on this and the basic idea seemed to be "ignore it." Is that a correct interpretation?

1: This, only down samples your resolutions so they are capped. You would need to make sure your Links are 600dpi or better. (TECHNICALLY this is PPI). Now normally I wouldn't hard *** someone over the difference, but considering there is NO DPI setting I'm aware of (again its PPI) pointing out their error may just get them to explain a bit more what they mean.
2: You can not create an X1a compliant greyscale file.
3: I would guess here they simply mean don't use rich black or multiplate text. This would be due to registration. Just stick to K (black only) and you should be fine.
4: I would not even use distiller for this, stick with Export to PDF.
