Hello everybody,
I have to check a XI after installation. Are there checklists available?
Thanks a lot

  • Before and After Program Installation Checklist?

I have read various posts with various basic problems and solutions to get Premiere Elements functioning without too many glitches to begin with. I was wondering if there was a post with a list of the most common problems and fixes before and immediately after installing the program.
    For example:
Make sure the computer has enough resources to run the program ie processor speed, memory, hard drive space etc.
Install the program and any patches/updates
Delete the Bad Drivers txt file
         Disable Background Rendering
         Disable the Organizer
Update or Roll Back Video Card Drivers as necessary
         Etc.
These aren't in any kind of order. I know there are more I've left out but there seem to be the same common basic problems with most of the versions of PrE just to get the program to function on a basic level. Sorry I wish I could be more clear on the matter. I am having glitches with the program and was thinking of reinstalling it, but can't remember all of the tidbits to do over again after I reinstall. If I had a list of the most basic things such as some of the items above which I have done after my first install, I might not have to re-read a bunch of posts.
I'm sure you guys have a list of this stuff in your heads from all of your usage of the program (or reinstallation) and would apply the fixes after installing the program before you even start to use it. What would these basic fixes be?
    Thanks

For general Adobe program installation, I have compiled this Tips & Tricks article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3419692#3419692
In his PrE books, Steve Grisetti has a very useful set of appendices on setting up one's computer, to run PrE as smoothly, as possible. I find his tips to be very useful.
Good luck, and I am sure that others will have more thoughts on this.

  • Post Installation Checklist: AC GRC 10

    Hello All,
We have been told by the Basis team that the GRC PRD is ready for use after they have installed it. Just wanted to know if there is any post installation guide or document that we can refer to, to make sure we have the complete installation and settings before we go for the configuration and import of transports from DEV/QAS. An example of things to check can be:
    1. If the NWBC is working fine.
    2. If all the Connectors are created properly.
    3. If all the relevant BC sets are activated.
We need this information to make a check that when the Basis team hands over the PRD server for us to use, we do not miss out checking anything that can have an adverse affect later when we import our configs and data from DEV or QAS.
Thanks and look forward to hear soon.

    Hi,
You can get more ideas about the same from the installation guide where you can have a look to see which are the important areas that you need to focus on. Broadly, these are:
SP Levels for the key components.
    SICF services
    BC sets.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Hersh.

  • MSS/ESS Business Package installation checklist

    Hi,
Recently I started to work on a SAP partner's ECC6.0 SAP environment for ESS/MSS purposes, and am trying to determine if Business Package for ESS/MSS is already installed. I am told that all the software and components are installed and there are no restrictions. FYI, I am able to all of SAP HCM application areas without any issues.
Is there a way to know or find out if ESS/MSS components are already wired and working in this environment?
    Thanks in advance,
    Girish

    Hello Pooja,
Well, sorry guys, at this place I am the only one trying to explore EP hence nowhere to go for help.
I tried to call http(s)://<your server>:<port number>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo, but getting "Page Load Error..."
But I am able to run SAP Web GUI with a similar command (see below)....which allows me to run SAP in Web mode....hence thought above URL should also work. I tried with http and https both.
    http://<your server>:<port number>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/?sap-system-login-basic_auth=X&sap-client=102&sap-language=EN
Should I simply try creating a ESS user via SU01, and connect the user to the Employee via IT 1005?
Will it work (assuming EP components are pre-installed), and if yes, what should I need to run or do to invoke the Portal screen to get the iViews?
    Regards,
    Girish

  • Error after an ebs 11i installation

    Hi,
Could anybody tell me why I receive this error ("DAC-405: SessionInfo: Application module creation failed; className: AbmSessionAM") when I what to opne a forms in Oracle APPS EBS 11i ?
What I have to do ?
    Thanks,
    P.

    Hi Paul,
How could I start/check if ABM is started? If using JDK 1.1.8.x on the ABM middle tier:
    $ ps -ef | grep -i osagent
$ ps -ef | grep -i jre Verify there is one osagent process and two jre processes (one for ABM and one for Gatekeeper).
If using JDK 1.3 on the ABM middle tier:
    $ ps -ef | grep -i osagent
    $ ps -ef | grep -i jre
$ ps -ef | grep -i java Verify there is one osagent process, one jre process (for Gatekeeper), and one java process (for ABM).
You also can sometimes search for the ABM process by looking for the Osagent Port number:
$ ps -ef | grep -i 14000 Where 14000 is the Osagent Port.
What I want to run is ABM Manager -> Activity Based
Management. However other forms are working well.
This error appears after a single tier installation. What do you mean by "other forms"? Do you mean other modules? If so, then this is normal.
Could you please verify ABM Installation by checking the following note:

  • Run MS Windows executable on client machine

    Hi All,
I am using Dev9i. My client machines will be MS Windows. My Forms will execute over the web. I need to have a Form read the client machine MAC Address and display it in the Form. There is an executable on the client machines, getmac.exe that when run returns the MAC Address.
So my user will bring up his browser and give the URL of my form, then the Form should run 'getmac.exe' on the client somehow and display the string that getmac returns. It also has to send the MAC to the db but I can handle that part.
Does anyone know how I would go about doing this?
    Thanks

I found installing WebUtil to be a straightforward exercise. The Installation checklist is comprehensive, and if you follow it mechanically you should be alright. If you feel really lost in the world of web-deployment and Forms Server architecture then you should hop over to the Forms Upgrade Centre and read some of the white papers.
Having said that, No 7 Appendix A is simply asking you to add the location of the webutil directory. It even gives a cross-reference to the relevant page in the main body of the manual. You've already found the right section in the right file, what don't you know what to do? Copy is Crtl+C, paste is Crtl+V ;)
As for installation options, you only need to worry about them if you want to download an executable. Do all your users already have getmac.exe? If so, forget about it. If you have new users then the process is simple. Add a new line mimicing the example given in the Manual, only with getmac.exe in the name and the size of getmac.exe in the size (you can find this by rightclicking on the getmac.exe and looking at its properties. Make sure that a copy of getmac.exe is in the webutil/libs directory.
Being able to do this sort of configuration is going to be a vital skill in iour industry for the next few years. Increasingly, applications are built out of components from various sources that have been stitched together - some of the stitching can be quite crude (take a bow O9iAS R2 - only joking!). Eventually, there will be GUI tools to manage the myriad configuration files from a single point. Until then, MetaPad or Vi are going to be your best friends.
    Good luck, APC

  • Odd Sidebar "Devices" behavior

I have a number of partitions on an external drive that I mount & unmount from time to time. Usually, they show up & disappear from the sidebar's "Devices" list as expected, but after some weird system hang (each open app would quit responding & would not force quit) that required a forced restart & PRAM reset, I noticed that one of the partitions would not show up in the devices list when mounted, even though it was accessible & on the Desktop.
As part of the check of my system after the system hang, I ran Disk Utility's disks & permissions repairs & found nothing wrong with any partition. Thinking the sidebar problem was with Finder's pref file, I trashed that & relaunched the Finder, but nothing changed -- still the one partition would not show up in the sidebar.
So I then opened Finder's preferences & noticed something unexpected: In the sidebar 'show these items' list, the selection boxes next to "Hard Disks" & "External Disks" had a "-" instead of a check-mark in them -- similar to the "-" in an installer checklist that indicates only some of its sub-items have been selected. In the Finder pref, the behavior was the same: click once on the "-" & the box is cleared, click again & I got the check-mark.
The check-marked settings are now honored for all the external partitions, so the issue seems moot, but I wonder if anybody else has seen anything similar....

Either you’ve messed with the Preferences > Junk Mail > Advanced settings, or those settings have become corrupt, or you have one or more rules that have a bearing on this.
Assuming it isn’t the latter, try this:
    1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, disable junk mail filtering, then enable it again. This resets the rule that governs what the junk filter does.
    2. Choose either Training or Automatic mode (it doesn’t matter) and leave the other options checked. Click Advanced to see how the junk filter rule is defined now if you want, but don’t touch anything there.
    3. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).

  • Creation of own database for CMS

    Hi all
    I'm new to BusinessObjects
And i'm currently in the midst of installing BusinessObjects Edge Series XI 3.1 and have chosen the option to use my own database server.
Going through the installation checklist from the installation guide, there is one point i don't quite understand.
"Have you tested the database connection between the machine hosting the database servers and the Central Management Server (CMS)?"
Someone do enlighten me , appreciate it !
    Regards
    jazreeel

    Hi
    thanks so much for replying.
I have created a new data source under administrative tools and the connection was tested successfully.
However, during the BO edge installation, when choosing the CMS database, no data source name shows up.
I tried keying in the login ID and password and this error came up.
    " [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. STW00217 "

  • SLD change

    Hello,
We need to change SLD layout from what is depicted on the left side on the picture below to the solution depicted on the right side.
The reason for this is that services in SAP Landscape that depend on SLD are stopped during Solution Manager maintenance/restart. I read SLD documentation and based on it I proposed solution (right side of picture) that will allow continuous availability of services in SAP Landscape during Solution Manager maintenance/restart.
I do not have experience with SLD so I would like to know what do you think about this solution.
Also, what would be correct steps to make this transition? I would say I should have to install central SLD first and then sync it with local SLD on Solution Manager, then redirect data suppliers of systems in SAP Landscape to central SLD. Later I can add backup SLD and sync it with central SLD. Can cutoff from Local SLD be done in such way or should I stop local SLD until I redirect data suppliers?
    Regards,
    Sasha

    Hi Sasha,
I'm in the middle of doing this exact thing myself right now, for the same reasons you outline.  I'm separating our central SLD from Solution Manager.  I'm not finished yet, about halfway through the process, but from what I've read and what I've achieved so far, I think you have the gist of it.  Your outline looks reasonable to me.  I don't think you need to actually maintain a local SLD on Solution Manager anymore once you have migrated all the content and repointed all the data suppliers to your new central SLD.  You can configure LMDB to synchronize from a remote SLD, so once that last step is done, I think you can just 'abandon' the old local SLD on SolMan entirely.
So, here is what I've done so far:
Install new AS Java (version 7.4 SR1)Temporarily register it in existing 'old' SLD
    Update AS Java to sps7
Enable SSL, create administrative usersConfiguring the Use of SSL on the AS Java - Network and Transport Layer Security - SAP Library
    Initially configure new SLD
Post-Installation Checklist - Configuring, Working with and Administering System Landscape Directory - SAP Library
Configuring System Landscape Directory - AS Java Configuration - SAP LibraryThis included this step, and using it to configure the "System Landscape Directory" functional unit only:Java Functional Unit Configuration - SAP NetWeaver Library: Function-Oriented View - SAP Library
Migrate content from old SLD to new SLD (this is the step I'm in the middle of right now)
Demo: The Full Automatic Sync Feature in the SLD of SAP NetWeaver 7.1
SLD and LMDB Topology: Replacing the Source SLD for the LMDB
Once the initial unidirectional content sync is complete, the next steps will be:
    Enable bidirectional content sync
Configure LMDB to sync with new SLD
Configure data suppliers to sync to new SLD
    Disable bidirectional content sync
This method can be used to setup your backup SLD later as well, except you don't have to reconfigure LMDB or data suppliers, just install and set up the content sync.  In that circumstance, you may want to explore using a Virtual IP address as well.

    Matt

  • Server Sizing for SQL Server 2005

    Hi Experts,
We are having a SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, we are planning to do a sizing of the server.
Do we have any standard tool or criteria which can be used to come up with an assessment of the hardware enhancement which can be proposed for the server which host SQL server 2005.
Also is there any standard recommendation when setting up a production environment which would host SQL Server

  • More problems on installing 9i on RedHat 7.0

I have problems installing 9i at RH70 also. But in my case I
can't even start Oracle Installer, only generate a segmentation
fault. (I can't reproduce this behaviour installing 9iAS release
1, by the way) Two doubts:
    - Can somebody confirm whether install 9i on RH7.0 is absolutely
impossible? I saw someone wrote that installation on 7.1 is
    perfect, but no upgrading.
    - How many RAM do I really need? I got 9i CDs from pack sent to
iDevelop 2001 public, but I found on docs that minimum is 256MB
("Oracle9i: Quick Installation Procedure" part number A90352-01)
and 512 MB also (last one on "Oracle 9i Installation Checklist"
part number A90455). I have exactly 256 MB RAM.

Here's how to find out which RH release you're running:
    Do a
rpm -qa | grep -i redhat
On a RH 7.0 the output will contain the line
    redhat-release-7.0-1
on a RH 7.2 it will read
    redhat-release-7.2-1
I don't have a 7.1 system at hand but I assume it will read
    redhat-release-7.1-1
    there.
    Hope this helps
