XI/PI: need to create configuration from backend service interface to file

Hi All,
I need to create configuration in which i have to map my backend service interface to file document.
For example i have interface CreateOrderInformation_Out which is coming from abckend and i want to store those details in a file on external/desktop via XI/PI.
Can someone guide me with detailed steps involved in this?
Which communication channel to use?How to create that channel?

Hi,
your scenario will look like this:
ECC->XI->File
From ECC to XI: Use ABAP proxy (no communication channel required)
From XI to File: Use file adapter (receiver communication channel required).
For creating proxy: goto transaction sproxy and create proxy of CreateOrderInformation_Out.
Call this proxy in your code to transfer data to XI/PI.e
You need to define following objects in PI:
Inbound receiver interface
Message Type (includes datatype)
Refer to SDN and SAP help for step by step tutorials.

Configurator provides a "Custom Import" capability to automatically create structure. It is documented in Chapter 5 ("Populating the CZ Schema") of the Oracle Configurator Implementation Guide.
However, setting up a custom import may actually take you more time than just creating the Options manually in Configurator Developer. If the Options need to be duplicated across several Models, it may be advantageous to build them as Items in the Configurator Developer Item Master instead, and then use Populators to automatically create corresponding Options within your Option Feature(s).

In the Developer Area, you will find an entry <b>Web Services</b>. Just expand : SAP NetWeaver -> Application Server -> Web Services

Do I need to create new group for standby redo log files?

I have 10 group of redo log files with 2 members for each group for my primary database , Do I need to create new group for standby redo log files for the standby database

Yes, it's recomeded to add new group , for instnace If I have 10 group from 1 to 10 then the standby shoudl be from 11 to 20

What accounts need to be configured for a service tax 10%,a balance sht a/c

This below error occurred while clearing the entries.
"Ex.rate diff.accts are incomplete for account 0003260423 currency INR"
I have gone through this and found that, we should need to configure gain/loss accounts in OB09.
I am not sure, what accounts need to be configured for a service tax account(3260423), Its a balance sheet account.
Can someone guide me on this.

Hello Sudhir,
regarding to your incident, could you please try the following:
   1.The problem is probably caused by the settings in transaction OBA1.
     The system checks OBA1, if there is an entry for process KDF and
     the relevant G/L account 135090. If there is none -> F5 063 is
     created. Also the exchange rate difference accounts have to be
     maintained in OB09
     If you make a dummy entry in OBA1 & OB09 this account will be
     selected when trying to make an exchange rate difference posting.
     Please also check the documentation to field "No forex rate diff.
     when clearing in LC" in transaction OBY6.
   2.Basically solution is to create the mentioned account for exchange
     rate difference, in order to avoid error F5063.
     But, if you don't want to post that difference, I ask you to check
     the solution proposed into OSS note 546997.

I have created a web service from from ApplicationModule Service Interface and exposed a view instance update operation. When I run the service (right click on serviceimpl and run), I am getting the following error

Action     Fix the descriptors in application or the library.
I have looked at web.xml, weblogic.xml, but couldn't figure out the issue.
Our packaging structuring is some like this.
Model -> Contains EO's, associations
UIModel -> Contains AM, VO's Webservices
UI -> Jsp, taskflows.
But when I tried created a sample application with Model and View Controller. and a webservice in Model project, it runs OK.
Please guide with on this issue.

No. of Connections needed for creating universes from SAP BEx Queries

I have 8 SAP BEx queries, my task to create to universe for all of these queries. I have created a datasource connection, my question here is can I use the same connection for all the queries by changing datasource connection and selecting the new query or is it suggestable to create 8 datasource connections in universe designer??

HI,
You need to create 8 connection for 8 BW queries.There is one to one mapping in the universe.If you change the existing connection source then it will not work for earlier query.
Other thing you can check like you have 8 queries then instead of creating 8 universe if possible then merge some queries in the single bw query and then create universe.

For clipboard copy, I start with File > New and the size will be set to what's in the clipboard. Then once the new file is opened, Edit > Paste will place the clipboard contents as a layer in the new document.
You must remember to use the command Layer > Flatten Image of you want to save as jpeg or any other file format that doesn't support layers.
For processing multiple files,
File > Automate > Batch or
File > Scripts > Image Processor...
Check the User guide or google information for those commands if you have specific needs.

How to create Endpoints for Inbound Service Interfaces in PI?

Hi Gurus,
we have to publish Endpoint URLs for third party system, which have to send us SOAP Messages via HTTP. For this we need to publish Endpoints (Incoming into PI) for the third Party Systems.
I already tried to publish it out of the Sender Agreement, but this is only for Outbound Service Interfaces and not incoming. I Also tried to publish the WSDL out of the Service Interface Design, but there are no Endpoints supplied.
What can i do, to get incoming endpoints?

Once you generate the WSDL in that there will be an SOAP Action url where you can see the endpoint or the target to which message will be sent to...
only thing you need to provide them apart from WSDL is user credentials.. thats it..
they need to import the WSDL provided by PI in their application

Is this the product I need to create PDF from a form online?

I need to develop an application where the user fills out an online form and a pdf is automatically created and emailed to them, a copy is also archived. Am I looking in the corect place by exploring LiveCycle PDF Generator or am I looking for something else? I am currently using php and MySQL but from the looks of it may be necesary to use XML. This is very new to me so any direction would be much appreciated.

I am in the same boat as Nils. Has anyone made any discoveries on this? I have a call in to a "specialist" at Adobe, but it will be 3-5 days before someone gets back to me. I want to collect the data using PHP/MySQL and then populate a PDF template of some sort to create a print-ready PDF that I can send to my printer.
An example of how we plan on using this is with business cards. We're going to create a business card template PDF with form fields for Name, Title, Phone, Email, etc. and then have the user enter in their information and then create a print-ready PDF we could send to the printer to get printed. I am unclear on which Adobe product would work for this. The pre-sales team at Adobe said we might want to look into InDesign server and LiveCycle. I guess the starting price tag for either of those is $10,000.

Is newfs needed when creating mirror from existing ufs partition

I have the root drive of my sparc solaris 10 server mirrored with SVM. In the same machine I have another single partition disk that was mounted /dev/dsk/ct0d0s6 to /home1, and I wanted to mirror it to another disk. This happened without problem.
While the resync was happening I realized that I did not do a newfs on the target mirror disk (/dev/dsk/c1t2d0s6 partition before doing the metattach. I did not have a problem with reboots or anything after the resync was done. Will the mirror create a UFS partition on the target disk? If the source /home1 disk failed, would I be able to mount the target disk as a regular /dev/dsk partition? Or if I wanted to metaoffline the target half of the /home1 mirror to do a backup, would it recognize it as be a UFS partition?
I'm thinking I should metadetach the mirror, do a newfs on the target S6 partition and then metattach again.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your getting a little confused about the difference between a partition/slice and a filesystem.
Partitioning is the act of breaking the disk up into "slices". You have been referring to c0t0d0s6 which is a slice.
Partitioning is done with the format program.
The filesystem is the data that goes onto the slice. This is what newfs does. It creates a filesystem on a slice. So all its doing is writing a particular pattern of data onto a chunk of disk.
So mirroring filesystems doesnt require a newfs. Since the correct pattern of data already exists. You just need to copy it onto the new slice.
But the mirroring doesnt do partitioning ie create the slice. You have to do that with format. But it does copy the filesystem.
So assuming you created a new slice of the correct size.
You should be able to mirror the existing slice to the new slice. Then mount the virtual device representing the mirror.
You do have to always use the mirror through the virtual /dev/md device, not the raw slices.
The raw slices making up the mirror are perfectly ordinary UFS partitions. So yes they will be recognised.
But if you modify one directly instead of through the virtual device, you changes won't be mirrored to the other.
But yes, if a disk fails. You can use the other slice directly if necessary. But normally you would just keep using the metadevice.
And if you metaoffline a disk. You could then back it up.
But backups are normally more conveniently done with fssnap. That way you don't have to split mirrors and join them again.

1.       Created 2 DBu2019s on Server B
·          REPO_CR (Central Repository u2013 Which is used for multi-user environment).
·          REPO_LR (Local Repository u2013 Which is used for actual development like login and build   jobs).
2.       Created multiple schemas under REPO_LR(One Schema for each user).
·          User1, User2, User3, etcu2026 (These schemas can hold metadata of Data Services XI which can be used for reference).
Each and every schema should have itu2019s their own user name and password
Activities Performed till now on Data Services Side:
1.Installed Dataservices
Activities Yet to be done on Data Services Side:
1.Configure Repository manager (Create central repository REPO_CR of type sucure using repository manager)
2.Configure Job Server(Create a Job server and assign the local repository REPO_LR to the same)
Issues:
While creating the central repository usning the below command:

I think we are getting this error because of some connectivity issue between DB2 server and Data services Server.

the arguments that you are passing to repoman are not correct, if your server name has space then you should enclose that in quotes, else it will be treated as 2 arguments, you are passing -SServer B it should be -S"Server B"

I don't think you need to pass -Q option for DB2, its required only for Sybase Repo
for DB2 you will have to install the DB2 Client, and create a Node and Catalog the database on that node
if you are able to open DB2 command prompt form the unix and use that database, then try using the following args to create DB2 Repo

or better use Repository Manager from Windows to create repos

The std contract has 3 products with it. But the service plan is getting copied with only one product.
Now I am creating service order from Service plan. The service order has only one product which comes from service plan.
I need to add the remaining two materials also with the service product which is available in std contract.

I need to create a .pdf of a CAD (Microstation) file with a bitmap embedded

every plot driver I have tried will not include the bitmaps (3 of them in the title block of the drawing) in the .pdf.
All of the other elements are created but not the bitmaps. I am using MicroStation V8 XM edition.
