Xlint Warning Help

IDK what I did but I accidentally set it to give me Xlint warning (I think).
I was trying to make myself a jar file for a code I made and this is when the problem started happening.
Every time I try to compile anything it prints this warning:
Note: blank.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations.
Note: Recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details.So I tried recompiling with Xlint:
javac -Xlint blank.javaIt gave me 3 warning thats I don't understand how to fix.
Then I decided the warnings probably mean nothing since I have such a simple code anyway so I tried to figure out how to get rid of the warnings and I was told to type:
javac -Xlint:uncheckedor
javac -nowarnBut when I type those it prints out:
javac: no source files
Usage: javac <options> <source files>
use -help for a list of possible optionsSo I am stuck at this point. I don't want the warnings and IDK what to do.

Because you didn't give them a file name
javac -Xlint:unchecked blank.java

    Hi there,
    Sorry to be slow in responding to this, but these new errors are difficult to diagnose without looking at your class paths and configuration. I gather, as I'm sure you have, that the compiler is failing to locate some of the classes necessary to compile your application. I don't have experience with the spark components, so this is an issue that I haven't run into. When I've run into trouble compiling with the 4.0 sdk, it's been either because I was trying to use a class/component that had changed recently (this is the case with some of the TextLayoutFramework classes; some of the older tutorials on the web reference classes and properties that have changed in more recent builds), or because I wasn't compiling to Flash Player 10.
    Sorry I can't be of more help here; but you might want to move this issue to a different/new thread since the compiler line fix described above did address the factoryClass issue.
    Best,
    Chris

  • -Xlint warning when compiling with command prompt.

    1 of the method i write in the program has a compilation warning when compiling with command prompt. When i compile the codes with the application i used to write the program has no error at all. Below is my code:
    private static ArrayList readNum(String NumFile)
    ArrayList key = new ArrayList();
    String keyAttributes = readInput(NumFile);
    StringTokenizer stk = new StringTokenizer(keyAttributes);
    while(stk.hasMoreTokens())
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    return key;
    When i javac the program with -X;int, this errror occured:
    warning: [unchecked] unchecked call to add(E) as a member of the raw type java.util.ArrayList
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    ^
    1 warning
    Anyidea how to solve this problem? Thanks for the help.

    A quick google for that message would have told you that you're not using generics and the compiler complains about that.
    Google for "Java Generics" to find out what all the fuss is about.

  • Oracle SSO Warning Helper!!!

    When I tried to configure and deploy the JAZN demo callerInfo of Oracle9iAS R2. I was able to get the SSO login page, but after I type my user info, i.e., "ray/welcome", I got the following message
    "Oracle SSO Warning - Unable to process request
    Either the requested URL was not specified in terms of a fully-qualified host name or OHS single sign-on is incorrectly configured.
    Please notify your administrator."
    The domain controller of the Windows NetWork is still under NT4, to use the SSO, is it required the domain controller to run Win2k? How can I work around the fully-qualified host name problem?
    Thanks a lot.

    For Providergroup, webproviders:
    To create providers etc., you have to give privileges to users in the following XML file:
    <OH>/j2ee/OC4J_Portal/applications/portalTools/providerBuilder/WEB-INF/deployment_providerui/provideruiacls.xml
    To give privilege do the following:

  • Index.pdx  Dialog Warning Help

    Today, for the first time, an error (warning?) dialog box opens up when I open some of my PDF files. The files use to open without the dialog box, and now it appears when I open some of my files.
    After the PDF loads, a dialog box opens which states:
    "The index associated with this document (C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Desktop\*****'s Folder\temp10\index.pdx) could not be located."
    There is an option to disable the dialog and an "OK" button.
    Does anyone know why I keep receiving this message. How do I turn it off without disabling it? Did I change a setting?
    I use Adobe Acrobat Professional version 8.1.2
    Thanks!
    Joseph

    The reason you are getting this error message is, either you have:
    1) Deleted/renamed the associated Catalog index (PDX files) from your desktop folder, or
    2) Moved your PDF files from original location - thus breaking the PDX-PDF relative path relationship.
    To fix this, you should restore the PDX/PDF documents to the original paths on your local hard-disk when you associated Catalog indexes with the PDF documents.
    Thanks,
    - Vishal.

  • Runtime WARNING help

    I upgraded to JDK 1.4.2 today from 1.4.1_03. Everything was working just fine in 1.4.1_03 but when I recompile all of my code in 1.4.2 I get the following WARNING when I run my program:
    WARNING: Duplicate name in Manifest: Depends-On
    Jul 11, 2003 2:13:26 PM java.util.jar.Attributes read
    WARNING: Duplicate name in Manifest: Depends-On
    Jul 11, 2003 2:13:26 PM java.util.jar.Attributes read
    WARNING: Duplicate name in Manifest: Depends-On
    Jul 11, 2003 2:13:26 PM java.util.jar.Attributes read
    WARNING: Duplicate name in Manifest: Depends-On
    Jul 11, 2003 2:13:26 PM java.util.jar.Attributes read
    I get about 50 of these message all in a row when I start my program. I am not putting a manifest file into any of the jar's that I create. ANT creates a manifest file automatically, but I checked and the manifest file between 1.4.1_03 and 1.4.2 jars is the same. Anyone have any idea what this means and how to get rid of them?

    It seems that they made stricter the definition of the manifest grammar.
    1.4.2 says:
    In all cases for all sections, attributes which are not understood are ignored.
    but also:
    Attribute names cannot be repeated within a section.
    Some jar packagers do include attributes that can be multiple, like Depend-On to denote dependency relations (1-N) and that is now (or has always been ???) invalid.
    Cleaning the offending attributes from the manifest should calm the beast :-)

  • Google warning help

    I'm getting the following warning from google after submitting sitemaps for my websites. 'URLs not followed
    When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL'
    I'm using the RAGE sitemap tool to build and submit my sitemap. Can anyone advise what may cause this warning or how I may be able to remedy this so that Google is my friend again?

    Where are you publishing to - MobileMe or another server?
    Is your URL a redirect to MobileMe and, if so, is it done by Cname or masking?
    Are you using the default iWeb navigation?
    Where did you upload your sitemap to and what URL did you give to Google?
    Did you test that your sitemap was in the correct location on your server?

    Problem A.) I have tried for HOURS--cannot make this image fill the page (I plan to have a different background image on different pages). I read around and pasted in it's exact size, etc. It doesn't move and it's cut off top & bottom. Left & right are perfect. Here is where I am so far:
    <div class="image-section">

  • Calling Custom Help (Urgent : Oracle Team)

    I've built my own help with the help of other tools.
    Now I want to call this help in Form .
    How do I attach ?
    in Short
    How do I call context sensitive help ?
    thanks in advance .
    Pradeep Patel

    I have a Forms 5.0 app that calls Windows .hlp.
    It has attached OFG4HPL.PLL that comes with Developer.
    The key-Help trigger is as follows
    /* CGHP$CALL_HELP_FORM */
    /* Call the help system after setting globals with current block
    and item */
    BEGIN
    :GLOBAL.CG$HP_HFILE := 'HelpSibank.HLP';
    IF (:GLOBAL.CG$HP_HFILE IS NULL) THEN
    MESSAGE('Warning: Help file is missing or incorrect');
    ELSE
    :GLOBAL.CG$HP_HFILE := :GLOBAL.CG$HP_HPATH || 'HelpSibank
    Contracte_sf.HLP';
    BEGIN
    CGHP$CALL_MS_HELP(
    4 /* IN : Help Context
    Id
    ,:GLOBAL.CG$HP_HFILE); /* IN : Help Resource
    File
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    CGTE$OTHER_EXCEPTIONS;
    END;
    END IF;
    END;
    See if this will do for you.
    Still, if you do happen to find something different, please tell
    me how.
    I'd be interested how to make and use .chm files for help, for
    instance. Or some html help.

  • Javac problems

    Hello,
    I'm not really that much of a new user, but I need to compile through javac and can't get it to work (I've been dependent on my programming environment before). It will not recognize my jar files. How do I get them to be included?

    Also, one more thing: I'm having to use javac because
    when I make my program an executable JAR file, it
    does not work- I'm thinking this might be due to the
    compiler's message:
    "Note: Some input files use unchecked or unsafe
    operations.
    Note: Recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details."
    Could running javac -Xlint:unchecked help fix the
    executable jar file problem, in the first place?That is not related to compilation problems. That does only mean that there are parts of the code wich doesn't use generics.

  • BPA Web Client Components Problem trying to load applet

    Hello!!! I installed BPA Repository and Oracle HTTP Server and I started up my server with y-serverlauncher.sh and after that, I started up the OHS with command:
    ./opmnctl startall
    The system is running in Oracle Linux 5.7 and Oracle BPA Suite 11.1.1.1
    My problem is when I try to open BPA through an URL http://server:7784/bpa/index_app.html.
    The message I am getting is:

    Possible reasons include:
    - the URL you use to connect to the ARIS Client is not correct. Please contact your System Administrator if in doubt.
    - you do not have write access to the local download directory
    - there's no space left on your local hard disk drive.
    Trace level set to 5: all ... completed.
    Does anybody have any suggestions? I am installing as indicated in the BPA install guide, but I think I missed something.
    Thanks in advanced!!!!

    Update -
    One of the clients that IS connecting is running the latest: 1.5.0_09 which makes no sense based on the other behavior.
    Well we figured it out (I think). If you have 1.4.2_06 on the box, you can connect, it installs the applet and you get in. If you then upgrade or uninstall/reinstall 1.5, Discoverer still works. Now we haven't tested anything else other than just logging in so what ever might blow up on us is still in question.
    But what it looks to be is that the kick off for the install is failing under 1.5 and once it's on the system, using a newer version is just fine. Now without really knowing/understanding what's going on under the hood this is just an assumption. However I've repeated it on a couple XP machines so far.
    That is, have 1.5 on the box, fail to get to Discoverer. Uninstall, then install 1.4, get Discoverer loaded, then upgrade/reinstall 1.5 and move on.
    We did give JInitiator a try but had similar strangeness happen and gave up since the client machines should have a copy of 1.4 on them to begin with. It's a matter of ironing out the details with our app. Hopefully 1.5 will be compatable by the time we go live which isn't for some time yet.

  • Found the Answer...(I Think)

    OK, so I just made my zillionth phone call and I think this ITunes/Time Warner mess may be resolved today; and soon. I was able to do the tracert phobos.apple.com command and it did time out in San Jose at Level 3 like everyone said it would. I was sent to the National Time Warner Help Desk and they called over senior tech personel. They apparrently got a bunch of calls today about this and have been working on the problem for a few hours now. They said it should be resolved soon. Hopefully sometime today. They will keep testing this to make sure it works. I also have a reference number just in case. They admitted the problem was on their side and it was a RoadRunner issue. I feel really really badly about blaming ITunes. This was not their fault. It was just a coincidence that 7.01 came out roughly the same time all this connectivity stuff did.
    Hang in there guys! We will get our tunes back!!! Too bad Time Warner didnt offer to "forget" our bill balances this month....
    Thanks for all the help guys! If anything; I did learn how to use the support forum!

    7.01 came out a month ago.
    The connectivity issue is just over the last few days.

  • Parallel Structure Part 2 - The Frankenstructure

    After deciding to post an idea for a "parallel" structure, a search revealed the idea for a Parallel Execution Structure has already been proposed by gvholland here.
    I gave my kudos to this idea because I believe it would be very useful.  In order to make a parallel structure even more useful, I propose adding some features that would make it more convenient for those of us who might use it in code that must execute in parallel for performance and functional reasons.  It has been commented on the other thread that parallel code should be placed in subVI's, and I concur with this view.  However, there are instances where this is either inconvenient or impracticable.  Consider the following example:
    An application needing to perform simultaneous PID control on 32 channels must execute in parallel (only 8 channels shown for clarity):
    Now quadruple the number channels in this scheme, and you can have a pretty big diagram with lots of wires.  Also consider the routine task of initializing that “clustosaurus”  or “classosaurus” as in this example:
    We've all probably tried the scheme wherein we put a case structure inside a FOR loop and wired the iteration terminal to the case selector, as in these examples:
    That's clean and easy, and allows the user to create instances of the reentrant VI by duplicating cases.  But that architecture forces the vi's or code to execute sequentially.  The new parallel FOR loop can boost performance of these techniques, and create parallelism.  But I would like a basic parallel structure that cleanly handles some routine tasks by adding some useful I/O nodes, ala the InPlace Element Structure.
    I propose the following structure, or something similar:
    This structure is drawn here with some proposed I/O nodes and tunnels.  This is by no means the complete set of I/O that might exist, but rather a starting point.
    Cluster unbundle/bundle node:
    This node accepts only “brown” clusters, or clusters of Booleans.  The elements are passed to each frame in corresponding index order, element 0 to frame 0, and so on.  Once added to the structure, a single unbundle/bundle terminal pair appears in each frame. Much like a bundle function that has its center terminal wired, the bundle terminals may be left unwired.  The values of unwired elements remain unchanged.  Any cluster wired to this node must have the same number of elements as the parallel structure has frames.  If not, the wire is broken.
    Array index/replace node:
    This node auto indexes an incoming array and provides a replace array element node on the right.  Note there is no index value IO as with the IPE, since the parallel structure auto indexes the array and distributes/replaces the elements across the frames.  If an array has less elements than the number frames at run time, the node returns default data for the undefined elements, exactly as an index array function does, but the structure returns a warning or error (I can’t decide which).  The output array would always have the same number of elements as the structure has frames, or the same number of input (can't decide which) .  The replace element node on the right must be wired in every frame, just as a replace array element structure must have all of its exposed elements wired.
    Cluster unbundle/bundle by name node:
    This node is tricky, but I decided to take a stab at it anyway.  The node is created and visible on both sides of the structure.  However, unlike the IPE, the unbundle/bundle terminals on either side can be of different sizes and element selections, and can optionally be unused on either side, or both sides, within the individual frames.  Unused terminals appear with the same symbol as the center terminal of a bundle function, as shown in the proposal drawing.  If an element is selected for bundling within a frame, then it is unavailable for bundling in all other frames.
    Indexing and non-indexing tunnels:
    Non-indexing tunnels function somewhat like they do on a sequence structure.  Input tunnels provide data to all frames, non-indexing output tunnels may only be wired in one frame.  Unlike sequences, however, the data arriving at output tunnels would be free to flow out of the structure immediately, which will seem weird, and violates the "whole structure must complete" convention.  But remember, this is a parallel structure.  Like sparks shooting off the bolts in the monster's neck while it's alive, it's gonna be be weird by default.
    Indexing tunnels are different.  Like the auto-indexing node, auto-indexing input tunnels distribute the array elements across the frames.  If the array size is smaller than the number of frames, the frames either execute with default data, or the undefined frames don’t execute, and the structure returns an error or warning (help me define this).  Auto-indexing output tunnels behave like output tunnels from case structures; either all frames must be wired, or the tunnel must be configured to use default data if unwired.  Unlike the non-indexing output tunnel, data from this tunnel is not available until all frames have completed execution.
    Error I/O Nodes:
    There are error inputs/outputs for the structure as a whole, and for each individual frame.  The structure error IO is situated in the lower left and right corners, naturally.  The frame input and output terminals can both be optionally hidden or exposed in each frame, and also slide independently of each other up and down the left and right sides of each frame in which they are exposed.  The structure distributes the incoming error among the exposed frame error input terminals, and merges the frame output error values to the structure output terminal, along with any messages generated by the structure itself.
    So what do you do with this “Frankenstructure”?  Well, here are a couple of the aforementioned examples rewired using this hypothetical beast:
    Of course there could be other cool things, like a CPU core selector for the frames, etc.  Just let your imagination, (or nightmare, depending on how you see it) run wild!

    @JackDunaway  Sorry the example is not more clear, but the additional frames contain all the reference initializations in the 'clustosaurus example pic', and there should be 0..7 frames instead of 9 frames total.  As for why the parameters are not arrayed, I just wanted to show an example of how the structure could operate on a cluster, and because the original example pic used clusters.  They might very well be arrayed.  If they were, an indexing tunnel could be used.  It's true you could use a parallel FOR loop for the PID example, but you would have to nest a case structure to hold the multiple instances of the reentrant PID vi.  I don't like this solution, and believe LabVIEW should have a Parallel Exeuction Structure dedicated to the task.
    @Jim Kring  You are correct.  It is a lot like the parallel FOR loop, but I believe it is (or would be) much more powerful.  Please reconsider the descriptions of the I/O terminals, which borrow some of their functionality from the InPlace Element structure.  The parallel loop structure cannot operate on most iteration dependent data (data passed from one iteration to the next in a shift register), because it cannot guarantee the order of exectution of the parallel iterations.  Neither would this or any other parallel structure, but the I/O terminals, particulary the cluster unbundle/bundle by name, would help manage the code going in and out, and allow the parallel frames to operate on the same data structure in memory.  How would you use a parallel loop structure to update the elements of an incoming cluster? Also, you have to nest a CASE structure in the parallel for loop if you want different code at different parallel iterations, a messy solution in my opinion. This proposed structure overcomes some of these problems with the specifically designed I/O terminals I have outlined.  I admit they may be far fetched, but I wanted to make a start and maybe spark a discusion. A parallel programming language without a dedicated parallel execution strucure seems incomplete to me.  I don't think a modified FOR loop quite makes it.
    Thank you both for commenting on this idea.  As two well respected developers in the community, I value your input.
