XMII support fo SSL via HTTPS

We are consuming an xMII Business Logic transaction as a web service in a .NET application. Does xMII support SSL via HTTPS for transactions consumed as web services? If so, how?

After a quick read of the “HOW TO CONFIGURE XMII 11.5.1 BUILD 63 AND IIS 6.0 FOR HTTPS”, this may be what I am looking for. It seems very involved and tedious. So, you are saying this guide is how to configure the xMII server to consume an xMII business logic transaction as a web service from a .Net application. Wonder if anyone has done this?

Buy support contract for the device in question. Call support. Claim business service interruption because of the issue. Follow support's instructions.
You can call support even without service contract, but you will not allowed to assign priority to the ticked, you will not allowed to speak with anyone who understand the matter and you will got a kind of formal response only - like it work for others, so it's a bug on your side or so.

• WWSAPI - Cannot connect to web service via SSL and HTTP proxy authentication with NTLM, errorCode 0x803d0016, HTTP status 407

Hi,
I built a web service client using WWSAPI. The connection works via SSL (without HTTP proxy) and it works with SSL and proxy with basic authentication as well. When I try to connect using a proxy with NTLM authentication, then I get the errorCode
0x803d0016, HTTP status "407 (0x197)", "Proxy Authentication Required".
In WireShark I see only one HTTP request to connect to the proxy with NTLM Message Type: NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE. The HTTP Response returns Status 407 and the connection ist closed. Comparing this to Internet Explorer - the Connection is not closed and
a second request with NTLMSSP_AUTH is sent.
Why doesn't it make the complete NTLM handshake? Why wasn't sent the NTLMSSP_AUTH directly?
I oriented in the HttpCalculatorWithKerberosOverSslClientExample.
Using WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SECURITY_BINDING,
WS_SECURITY_BINDING_PROPERTY_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SCHEME was set to WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_SCHEME_NTLM, WS_SECURITY_BINDING_PROPERTY_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_TARGET to WS_HTTP_HEADER_AUTH_TARGET_PROXY. I tried WS_DEFAULT_WINDOWS_INTEGRATED_AUTH_CREDENTIAL_TYPE but also WS_STRING_WINDOWS_INTEGRATED_AUTH_CREDENTIAL_TYPE.
Any idea?
Thanks

• OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

Hi
I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?
-Johan

The exeption we are getting is BEA-380000
General runtime error: [Security:090477]Certificate chain received from XXX - 123.123.123.123 --> test.salesforce.com was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure.
This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate.

• Does the iPhone 4S support HDMI- OUT via the digital AV adapter?

Does the 4S support HDMI ->OUT via the digital AV adapter or not? I read that it does (whether it be mirroring, YouTube video playback, movie playback, etc.) but I'm not having any luck. I recently tried my AV adapter (that I normally use with my iPad 2) but I get nothing. When I power cycle the phone after connecting the adapter, I get a error stating that the "accessory is not supported by iPhone". When I go to play a YouTube video, it shows up on the phone's screen for a second and then disappears. The LCD TV I am connected to never prompts me for the detection of a new HDMI device being connected" either, do I have no clue what's going on.
Any ideas? Thought?
Any help to solving this riddle once and for all would be appreciated.
Thanks and Happy New Year!!
Andy
P.S. - my 4S is running iOS 5.0.1 and is a Verizon 16gb model.

The model number on the adaptor is A1388. The link is here:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC953ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE
I have the iPhone 4s, running 5.0.1 (9A405)
I have also experimented with sequence, and I see no particular order needed to make it work. Generally I get it all plugged in and then swipe the iPhone and in a few moments, the screen appears in mirroring mode. Then if I go to Videos I can play my clips with sound, or I can do Keynote presentations, etc.
So sorry to hear you're having trouble. I imagine you've already double-checked that you're seating it solidly in the dock connector and have a good, working HDMI cable. I am not sure what you mean in your original post about "powering up" the phone. It might also be some Verizon issue, though I don't know what that might be. Is your AV adaptor the Apple branded one?

• Calling a web service through SSL via a stand alone java class

HI,
I am trying to call a web service through SSL via a simple stand alone java client.
I have imported the SSL certificate in my keystore by using the keytool -import command.
Basically I want to add a user to a group on the server. Say I add a user user 1 to group group 1 using an admin userid and password. All these values are set in an xml file which I send to the server while calling the server. I pass the web service URL, the soap action name and the xml to post as the command line arguments to the java client.
My xml file(Add.xml) that is posted looks like :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope
xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:SOAP-ENC = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
xmlns:SOAP-ENV = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:xsd = "http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema"
SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<namesp1:modifyGroupOperation xmlns:namesp1 = "/services/modifyGroup/modifyGroupOp">
<auth>
<user>adminUser</user>
<password>adminPassword</password>
</auth>
<operationType>ADD</operationType>
<groupName>group1</groupName>
<users>
<userName>user1</userName>
</users>
</namesp1:modifyGroupOperation>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
I call the client as:
java PostXML https://com.webservice.com/services/modifyGroup "/services/modifyGroup/modifyGroupOp" Add.xml
I my client, I have set the following:
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jre1.5.0_12\\lib\\security\\cacerts");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "password");

There is a bug with IE when downloading via https according to Microsoft support site. Refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812935
According to this bug, I have set the response header - "pragma" to public and "cache-control" to public. I've also unchecked the Do not save encrypted pages to disk setting in IE Options, Advanced tab.
Has anyone come across this problem or a similar problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

• Submitting a PDF form via HTTP Post: Beginner's Questions

Hi,
I am completely new to PDF forms, so I have been finding the documentation and options overwhelming.
I am hoping to get pointed to the documentation/tutorials/examples I really need.
I would like to build a "proof of concept" for my boss. I would like to include a screen in our Java ( JSP & Spring ) webapp where either a PDF form is embedded or is accessed via a link.
I have
Adobe Acrobat Distiller X standard license
Adobe Acrobat X Standard
Microsoft Office 2010
I made a small, 3 field Microsoft Word form. I then converted it via DIstiller into a PDF form.
I then found this document about how to submit a PDF form to a server side component:
http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/form-submit-e-mail-demystified
My big problem with this document it doesn't have an example nor an example showing what is going on in a full HTML page. As I result I have some questions:
Can I see such an example somewhere?
Does the call to the javascript function doc.SubmitForm(urlToMyServerSideComponent) go in a script tag on the HTML page like other javascripts?
Can I execute that submit function from an HTML button or do I need to put a "submit" button on the PDF form?
Do I need Adobe LiveCycle in order to create a PDF form with a "submit" button? Free versions?
Can I send via HTTP POST ?
Do I need Adobe LiveCycle to crate a PDF form with a digital signature?
Is there a document/tutorial that fits where I am starting off from? ( Please no books, I am tyring to show my boss that this is something that can be done, in a reasonable amount of time, not time to get and go through a book ).
Thanks in advance for any tips that get me pointed in the right direction
Steve

To answer some of your specific questions:
2, 3. The submit form button needs to be on the PDF. You can either configure a Submit Form action or use the submitForm JavaScript method.
4, 6: No to both questions. You can create the form in Acrobat. Such forms are knows as Acroforms, as opposed to XFA forms that are created with LiveCycle Designer. Acroforms have wider support.
5: Yes, that's the method that's used when submitting to a web server. You have your choice of formats. The "HTML Form" option causes the form data to be submitted in the same format as an HTML form, so the same type of server-side code can be used to process the data. As Dave's tutorial shows, the server should return an FDF as the response, however, as opposed to HTML content.
It's a mistake to try to embed the PDF in a web page. So much depends on the user's browser, PDF viewer, and how both are configured. PDF forms can be submitted directly from Adobe Reader/Acrobat, so it's not necessary for them to be viewed in a browser. Note that Adobe Reader for iOS/Android don't yet support submitting to a web server (apart from FormsCentral), but that's is supposedly being worked on.
Since you mentioned digital signatures, be aware that for Reader users to be able to sign, the document has to be Reader-enabled, either with Acrobat Pro or LiveCycle Reader Extensions (which is not the same as LiveCycle Designer). Digital signatures in PDF forms are not yet supported on mobile devices. Also, you will want to submit the entire PDF, as opposed to just the form data, when submitting a digitally signed form.

• SOAP receiver via HTTPS leads to Alert Fatal: bad certificate

Hello everybody,
I working on a scenario where i have to send a message out via https to a partner.
The server requires a client certificate which is installed and configured.
When I now send out some data I get the following error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: bad certificate: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: bad certificate
The partner told me that I also have to install the server certificate. Is this correct? I thought it is not neccessary to install the certificate from Server, is it?
Regards,
Thomas

Hi,
You would need to load the SSL certificate of your customer if it is a self signed certificate in the TrsutedCA's view in your Visual Admin.
The request is being rejected by XI as the https connection is bot being established as the certificate is not present in the Trusted CA's.

• How can my applet communicate with servlet via HTTPS?

hi all,
I'm using jdk1.4.2_03. Tomcat 4.1.27/29.
My applet used to communicate to serlvet/JSP via http protocol. However, I wish to apply SSL in my tomcat standalone. Is there any implication towards my existing applet to servlet codes?
For example,
URL servletURL = new URL("http://www.myhost.com/Shopping");
// open connection between applet and servlet
URLConnection servletConnection = servletURL.openConnection();
servletConnection.setDoOutput(true); // allow connection do output
servletConnection.setDoInput(true); // allow connection do input
servletConnection.setUseCaches(false);
servletConnection.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/octet-stream");
ObjectInputStream input = new ObjectInputStream(servletConnection.getInputStream());
resultset = (Vector)input.readObject(); //get Object from Servlet
input.close();

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/net/ssl/HttpsURLConnection.html
I never used it though, you can check for some code here:

• Connecting To Zend AMF Backend Via HTTPS

Environment:
- Flash Builder 4
- Flex 4 Beta 2
- Zend AMF (the one that gets automatically downloaded in Flash Builder 4)
Issue:
Using Flash Builder's "Connect To PHP" wizard, I can connect to my Zend AMF backend via HTTP but not HTTPS (and yes, my domain does have a valid SSL certificate from a trusted CA - it is not self signed). Upon selecting the PHP class (using a SFTP mount to my web host) via the wizard, Flash Builder dies when "introspecting the service" and it throws this error:
Make sure that Zend Framework is installed correctly and the parameter "amf.production" is not set to true in the amf_config.ini file located in the project output folder.
Warning: require_once(Zend/Loader/Autoloader.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home <blah>
If I change my PHP backend's URL from https://<domain> to http://<domain> then it works but I obviously need to use SSL for this application.

I upgraded to Zend Framework 1.10, which didn't help. I also just installed Flash Builder 4 Premium (which was just released today) and that didn't help my situation either although I believe the problem is how I'm attempting to get my Flex client to communicate to my hosted web server.
All the examples I've seen demonstrate how to connect a flex client and PHP backend (via Zend AMF) to LOCALHOST. I need to develop my Flex client on my laptop and hook into my PHP backend running on a hosted web server (not localhost).
Here are my server properties:
- Application server type = PHP
- Server location:
- web root = Y: (this maps to my Y: drive on windows which is a SFTP mount to my web host)
- root URL = https://cl21.<web_host>.com/~<username>
- Output folder = Y:\<app>-debug
I can get this to work if I use my dedicated domain name www.<my_domain>.com but I haven't yet purchased a dedicated IP and SSL certificate so I'm attempting to use my web host's shared SSL certificate (which is valid). The problem seems to be related to the setting "root URL". Can you not point the flex client to anything other than a root URL? Most server-side development happens on a shared dev server (e.g. sandbox.company_name.com/developer1, sandbox.company_name.com/developer2, etc.)

• Not able to log in EP via HTTPS

Hi all.
After installing successfully EP 6.0 in WAS 6.40 J2EE I’ve tried to log via HTTP following the url http://<hostname>:5<instance id>00/irj. That is ok and working, but when y try to log via HTTPS i cant... https://<hostname>:5<instance id>01/irj
I've downloaded and installed during the installation of EP the software for strong cryptography as the installation guide says but i don't know if there is something else to configure to get this work.
If somebody can share your experiences.....
Thanks !

There's a few simple steps required.
1. Create the server’s key pair to use for SSL.
2. Assign the key pair to use for the specific SSL port.
3. If you are using client certificates for user authentication, then configure their use on the SAP J2EE Engine.
This is fully described in:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/content.htm
Remember that ssl is a socket level protocol so you always have to assign certificates to specific ports.
