XML API Authentication Fails

hey alex,
it is likely failing tacacs author because of this line:
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ local
as long as the tacacs server is available, it will try against him and if that user doesnt exist in tacacs, it will fail that shell author.
revise config to:
aaa authentication login default local
aaa authorization exec default local
have a local username available that has cisco-support/root-system
or you can also do a debug aaa author and debug tacacs and see what service is requested so taht the user profile can be updated providing that author if you like to leave the existing tacacs author in place.
cheers!

  • NoMachine(freenx) Authentication failed for user (MYUSERNAME)

    Hi all,
    I have quite a few experience with freenx on other linux distributions, but this is my first time setting up freenx on archlinux. After following the instructions in the wiki, authentication keeps failing no matter what I do.
    Stuff I've done from the wiki:
    1. install freenx
    2. add RSAAuthentication yes AllowUsers someuser nx to sshd_config
    3. add md5sum to node.conf
    4. pacman -S xdialog xterm
    5. run "/usr/bin/nxsetup --install --setup-nomachine-key"
    6. modify /etc/nxserver/node.conf so that "USER_X_STARTUP_SCRIPT=.xinitrc"
    7. pick the right configurations when connecting to my server
    I have "exec startxfce4" in .xinitrc.
    It always goes up to "Waiting for authentication" and then "Authentication failed for user (MYUSERNAME)" pops up. I think it should not be a XFCE issue since authentication itself didn't even pass. I assume if it is a X window problem, what I would get is something like a blank screen.
    I'm using public key, so I didn't really copy anything from the server to my client.
    I couldn't think of a second reason why this wouldn't work. Is there any thing obvious that I missed? (If so, please move this thread to the newbie corner. lol)
    Any thoughts would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Aweather

    Hi,
    I did update the password in the properties file but still I get the error

    I am able to deploy from JDEV. and could configure as per documentation
    Thanks in advance,
    Anand
    I had to update the <OH>/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.properties file for the password and now I can deploy successfully...information was there in the readme file...

  • Relogin into the application once the authentication fails

    Hi,
    We are using java web start to start our application. As we are refering to a secured resource in the weblogic environment we gets a JWS authentication popup screen.
    If we supply an invalid user/password combination the authentication fails and we have to restart the application.
    We thougt of putting the piece of code which does the authentication in a while(true) loop but it seems that the JWS uses the old user name and password next time also and so the application goes into an infinete loop.
    Answer to any of these two queries can solve our problem:
    1. Is there a way by which we can make the authentication dialog box to popup again in case of failure so that we don't have to restart the application.
    2. Is there any way by which we can clear the past values of user name and password from JWS authentication Dialog box. I guess in this way JWS will pop the Authentication Dialog again..
    Pl. reply to these at the earliest as our project is in critical state...
    thanx in advance
    Shashi

    Here's something we did. Not perfect, but it seems to be working. At least until the API provides better support!
    We worked to "preempt" the built-in authentication dialog. By that I mean we displayed our own dialog when the client application started (just a dialog, not an extension to java.net.Authenticator). Then for each and every URLConnection, we attach the "Authorization" request header. In our case, we're using Apache's Tomcat application server, so we grabbed their implementation of Base64 encoding (see org.apache.catalina.util.Base64.encode). So we collected username/password information from the user via our own dialog, used Catalina's base64 encoding method, and attached the "Authorization" request header for each and every URLConnection request. This prevents the Java Web Start default Authenticator from ever coming into play.
    One other problem (and our solution). If the user typed an invalid username/password, the server challenged our request (with the built-in Authenticator). To get around this issue, we created an unprotected servlet that accepted the specified username/password (via an HTTP tunnel) and returned a boolean (again, via tunneling). This servlet, while unprotected, was directed (in web.xml) to use SSL for security of the password. It validated the specified username/password. Our own authentication dialog worked with this servlet to give the user some specified number of chances to specify a valid username/password. Only if this servlet returned TRUE would the application continue, and make further URLConnection connections using the now-validated username/password.
    As I said earlier - this is NOT an optimal solution. What we really need is some API help from the Java Web Start team (they did say they looked at this board when we met at this year's JavaOne). The "correct" solution would be to have the Java Web Start default Authenticator act more like the authentication dialog box of any web browser, popping back up if an invalid username/password was specified.
    Anyways, I hope this helped. Good luck!

  • OBIA 7.9.5 EBS Integration Not Logged On nQSError 43001 Authentication Fail

    Hi,
    I'm attempting to get Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 7.9.5 / OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 integrated into the eBusiness Suite 11.5.10.2 per Metalink Note 552735.1. At the moment not an action link, just menu option to SA Administrator.
    I've run into and worked around a number of problems with the Initialization block variables setup in OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd and now no longer get errors in the NQServer.log after disabling Initialization Blocks for Siebel/Peoplesoft and disabling 2 EBS specific Init blocks that were erroring; 'Inventory Organizations' and 'Ledgers' I'll fix those later.
    However, now I get an error in the sawlog0.log file as follows:

    Can anyone point me in the right direction here?
    Thanks,
    Gareth

    The strange thing is both Gareth and I have configured OBIA/OBIEE on a Linux server and local authentication works fine. Once we enable external EBS authentication, we get the error listed above.
    Does anyone who has done the OBIA EBS integration with OBIEE running on Linux have an example of the odbc.ini file. It appears that even though we have reconfigured OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd to use OCI everywhere, that there is still some hard coded ODBC references for external authentication.
    We are configuring instanceconfig.xml as directed:
    Integrating Oracle Business Intelligence Applications with Oracle E-Business Suite

    Configuring InstanceConfig.xml for External Authentication
    1. Modify the instanceconfig.xml file for the Oracle BI Presentation Services as shown below:

    <!-- Other settings here. -->

    2. The nameInSource for the cookie should be the same as the Oracle E-Business Suite application database SID name. To verify the name of the cookie, using Firefox, check the name of the cookie created under the us.oracle.com domain (or the domain where your Oracle E-Business Suite Application server is running). Please note that the cookie name is case sensitive.

  • User Authentication Failed error when trying to display a JSP portlet

    The steps carried out are as follows :
    1. Created a JSP file named "c.jsp" and deployed it under 902_MidTier_Home\j2ee\home\default-web-app\examples\jsp
    2. Created a table named USER_TABLE under Scott schema to store the usernames and passwords to validate this JSP application.
    3. Registered this JSP as an external application with the following values :
    Application Name           : RAGHU
    Login URL          : http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
    User Name/ID Field Name     : username
    Password Field Name     : password
    Type of Authentication Used : POST
    3. Clicked on the External Application and entered the username as USER1 and password as USER1 ( These values are available
    under USER_TABLE for comparison ). Then it shows the message "Hi User1 .. Welcome message"
    4. Now created a directory named JSPSAMPLE under "WEB-INF\Providers" and put the provider.xml file under this.
    Created a raghu.properties file and placed it under "WEB-INF\deployment".
    5. Now tested the testpage using the URL " http://hostname:port/jpdk/providers/raghu " and it works fine.
    6. Registered this as a provider in Portal and added this portlet onto a page. Assigned this page to a newly created user.
    It gives the message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information " which is expected. I click on the link and
    it takes me to the external application username password. I enter the credentials but this time it comes back again
    to the page with the same message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information ".
    7. Basically the values are not passed to the Username and Password in jsp page which is why the problem occurs.
    The JSP Code used is as follows :

    As I can see from the information posted, you are trying to
    use URL-based portlet's SSO feature, though not in a correct
    way.
    The SSO feature of URL-based portlets relie on the usage
    of Cookies as authentication tokens. For example, in the
    present context, http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
    will write a cookie to the client upon successfull authentication.
    Subsequent access to the same JSP or some other JSP in the same
    workspace should be checking for the existence of this particular
    cookie at the client side and if found should not prompt for
    user information again.
    If you can fine tune your existing applications as per above
    conditions, then everything should work fine. Else you might
    want to use page parameters to pass user information.
    For more information on page parameters, please visit

    Looks like the agent can't authenticate. Check the AM URL and the amldapuser password. Check the amserver amAuthApplication and amComm debug files to see if there are any agent authentication related exceptions. If you have ethereal installed you can do a network trace to see the XML passed between the agent and the server

    One can deduce from the error message that the parser is looking for the

We have same ESR and ID objects in Development, Quality and Production (as per Version ID and History).
    Now the problem is Lookup is failing only in Development but Quality and Production is working fine. I have replaced Quality CC URL with the development WSDL URL, but that worked fine. That means Development Web Service is good. We are getting the below error in Dev:
    <SAP:Stack>StreamTransformationException triggered by application mapping program com/fi/FileIns_lookupLoad; Look Up Failed</SAP:Stack>

    I have already checked with Basis and as per them JDK and Java versions are identical in Dev, QAS and Prod. It seems something is wrong with 'XI AF API' which we are calling from the channel. If we totally ignore Lookup process and send direct data, it is working fine. Target CC is also using Axis.
    Sequence in CC: afreq ->xireq ->wssec2 ->xires ->afres
    For any more information please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Nabendu.

  • Authentication failed, ADFFacesContext had not been properly released

    hi,
    I setup Login page through ADF security wizard in jdev 10.1.3.2 and set error page to be the same Login page. The rest of login process is same as in SRDemo: index page redirects to Welcome page, user press Start button etc.
    But if the user enters wrong credentials and after he is presented with Login page again (wirh message Invalid username and password) this time enters correct credentials he is dispatched to Welcome page but connectedUser from userInfo bean is not shown on the page. I noticed this warning about ADFFacesContext not properly released on earlier request. How can I properly release this context after user enters wrong credentials?

    Hi,
    this seems to be a bug in ADF Security. However it should work if you set the authentication as in SRDemo, in that the first page requires authentication (protecting the root / virtual path).
    ADF Security in 10.1.3.2 does allow users to work with anonymous accounts to achieve public pages (to defer authentication). So if public pages are not needed then the work around mentioned above should work
    I'll try and reproduce the defect you see in JDev 10.1.3.3 and file a bug if it reprduces

    Agreed with all above pointers.
    I think you have to raise SR with oracle, because it is prod environment.
    If you still want to do some R&D.
    1. Also check this URL might help, but not sure.

    2. Restart all servers (along with Admin server and DB).

    Hi .
    I tried your code , and I got the same exeption ..
    But when I changed a little bit in it , it worked ... :
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("mail.smtp.host","host");
    props.put("mail.smtp.port","25");
    props.put("mail.smtp.auth","true");
    Session session = Session.getInstance(props,null);
    session.setDebug(true);
    Message msg = new MimeMessage(session);
    msg.setSentDate(new Date());
    msg.setFrom(new InternetAddress("[email protected]"));
    InternetAddress[] addTo = new InternetAddress[1];
    for(int i=0; i<addTo.length; i++)
    addTo[i] = new InternetAddress("[email protected]");
    msg.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO, addTo);
    msg.setSubject("HIIIIIIIIIIIII");
    msg.setText("HIIIIIIIIIIII");
    Transport tr = session.getTransport("smtp");
    tr.connect("[email protected]","xxxx");
    tr.sendMessage(msg,msg.getAllRecipients());
    Actually I used : tr.sendMessage(msg,msg.getAllRecipients());
    instead of : tr.send(msg) and it worked for me ..
    Plase try it and let me know ..

  • Authentication Failed Error

    Hello,
    I have a button on my page, which when clicked calls a procedure in the backend. The procedure actually submits a request to concurrent program manager and returns a url in a out parameter. The url is actually the path to a letter in pdf format stored on the server. In the controller, I am checking for the error status returned by the api. If it is success, I am redirecting to the same page and setting the url(returned as a out param) to the link using
    setDestination().So, when the page renders again, the link has a destination. When I click on the link, the letter is opening in a new window with the correct data. Till, this point everything is happening as required. But when the user closes the letter and again click on the link to open the letter again, it says "Authentication Failed". I tried redirecting the page to same page and setting the url again in procesRequest. This is happening but the letter is not opening, because when we click on a link having both destination and controller code event, only the controller code will be executed.
    Please suggest how to solve this issue.

    That sometimes means that your AM doesn't know its own name correctly. ie the amconfig.properties and the data in the directory for the paltform settings doesn't match. This can happen if you just switched to SSL or have made other naming changes by hand to the AMConfig.properties file.

  • Exchange 2010 sp2 emc initialization error using "kerberos" authentication failed

    We use exchange 2010 SP2.
    We have 2 management stations, both w2k8 R2 SP1.
    I have one mangement station on which the emc and ems works ok.
    On the other management staiton (which is also in another ad site) the emc and ems don't work.
    I get the following error message : The attempt to connect to
    http://fqdnCasServer/PowerShell using "Kerberos" authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : Access is denied. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
    I have checked the time on the management station and on the exchange server and this is ok.
    It is not a permissions issue because the user functions ok on the other management station.
    On the bad management station I can open the emc once and after a minute I get an error message and the message access denied. From then on I can't connect any more.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Anyone any tips?
    Thanks,
    JB

  • Discussion Server Authentication Failed From Inside FMW App

    Hi Community,
    My Env:
    Webcenter 11.1.1.3.0
    Weblogic 10.3.3
    The discussion server shipped with webcenter suite is Jive Forums Silver 5.5.20 .2-oracle.
    I wired the discussion server to embedded LDAP server of my weblogic server, and deployed an app that utilize the discussion service.
    But when accessing the app page, I got an exception "failure to authenticate the user pbrown, due to: Authentication Failed".
    The users do exist in LDAP server and I can login to http://server:8890/owc_discussions page with that users, I also granted all privileges to the users in jive console, but it doesn't work inside the app.
