XML conversion on save/load
I am seeking a method to take the text stored in a TextComponent upon a save action and convert it to an xml document complete with tags representing rich text features (bold, etc) and then upon load, convert the xml file back to text for editing in the TextComponent. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

I'm not sure if I completely understand what you're asking, but here's what I'd do if my impression of what you're saying is correct.
First step is to surround attributed text with attribute tags. No biggie. I'd use StyleDocument's getCharacterAttributes(int offset) to look for attribute boundaries and insert the attribute tags in at these boundaries using a AttributeSet to String-attribute tag method to get what to write. Then just throw the whole thing into a StringReader, wrap that with an InputSource, and then pass it to a SAX parser.
Turning it back into a StyledDocument is pretty much just reversing those steps.

Classpath dependency validator message.
Classpath entry will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.

</ROWSET>When you call DBMS_XMLQUERY.SETDATEFORMAT, you must supply the mask using the syntax defined by java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
You need to use "yyyy-MM-dd".
In your case, "yyyy-mm-dd", the lower case "mm" is the mask for minutes. -

1.I have added the com.sap.aii.utilxi.core.io.IOUtil jar files from the PI server even though its displays error "The com.sap.aii.utilxi can not be resolved". Also I added the XPI libraries in NWDS but nothing moving to solve the issue.
2. I have commented the line of code where I have placed a test file in the path to test it i.e. JSON.text. But when it is deployed as Archived files, then this code has to be replaced.
The Method toString(InputStream) in the type IOUtils is not applicable for the arguments (String)

To read the input stream you should have

Flatten to XML does not save Item Names of ListBox to XML file.
On my Front Panel, I have a ListBox Indicator that has Strings from which the User can select. Also the User can edit items in the ListBox to add new elements. After the user selects one and pushes my Save button, I use the Flatten to XML function to save the selection in an XML file. But Flatten to XML only saves the Value (index of the selected item(s)) to the XML file and not the ListBox Item Names. That is enough information to reconstruct which of the String data that the user selected.
In a ListBox where a User is selecting among a list of Strings, shouldn't the Flatten to XML function also store the String(s) that were selected?

It can't record something that you do not pass to it. The state of the control is the numeric value and the state can be reconstructed with that numeric. I disagree. A ListBox that contains Stings to select from is full of String information. Both I and the User entered those Strings into the ListBox. It is the only data in the Listbox that we see. It is the most important information in the ListBox. The Strings are present in the Item Names. The Flatten to XML does have access to the Item Names and can and should provide them. Neither I nor the User are interested in the Numeric Index of the Selected Items. That is useless information to us. Both of use are dealing with Strings. If the State of the ListBox control is to be reconstructed from the XML data provided by the Flatten to XML function, then the Strings (Item Names) in the Listbox must be provided in the XML data. -

Seeburger EDI Text to EDI XML conversion failure should throw an error
Hi,
I am expecting an error message to be thrown when EDI Text to EDI XML conversion fails at Message splitter of Seeburger module. I am getting the following error in the log.
"2012-01-19T01:46:08.032-0800 ERROR [Error:ID=2150;LEVEL=3] counter value (41) of incoming field (UNB.UNH.UNT:0074) doesnt match the calculated value (39).
DESCRIPTION: Either the counter value is not filled in the source file or the counter field value is wrong. "
But my expectation is that the channel should show some error in Adapter Engine monitoring itself. As shown below, it is just showing some warning that because of above error, it is not creating the attachment. Now I am expecting the the following warning to be an error rather than just warning. Please let me know if any idea on the same.

Delete the metadata in IDX2 for the corresponding IDOC type in PI.
Also re-import the same in IDX2.
Reimport the IDOC type into Integration Repository under your SWCV.
Then check it..
Refresh the cache also. -

In a BPEL service I am getting this error while invoking a DB2 Stored procedure with Strong XSD. I am using assign to copy the input parameter to the input parameters of Stored procedure.

The JDBC sender adapter returns the rows selected from the database in the follwoing format.

This error occurs , when the source datatype you have created for the JDBC adapter does not match with this format. I would suggest that you check the source format along with the occurence of your field.

XML scrolling thumbnail, image loader, & Buttons [halfway works]
Intro:
I started a flash-based website a few years ago. Back in 2006 I was able to get a xml scrolling thumbnail, image loader to work without a glitch.
For numerous reasons I had to put the project on hold until now. [one was that my 30 day trial of flash expired and only recently was I able to purchase the Adobe Web Suite CS4 as well as a new computer which could run the apps.]
Last Friday saw a bump in the road in the development of my site as two, rather straightforward task, turned into something short of a nightmare as I have been unable to get past these two, seemingly, relatively simple task.
I have posted in 4 other flash forums the issues, in detail, that I am facing - and have quite a bit of interest/views in the topic as the numbers suggest - yet no response/answer as of yet. [Which confirms other messages I have seen which seem to state that working with buttons has become increasingly difficult with the newer version of flash - something Im a bit surprised with actually from Adobe. - I would have thought there would be a palette where you could set parameters...]

Before getting into the two questions I have, I would like to post an image of the site as it looks whenever an swf file is saved out, as well as a piece of the timeline in the back for reference.
Issue #1
As of now when the swf file is saved out you get exactly what you see above:
a: A scrolling thumbnail
b: ...which loads a large image when clicked on it - PEFECT...
BUT...
1a: I need for the buttons to load in this action, not for it to just load on its own.
[i.e., the silk_paintings gallery is what is open, so I need the "silk_paintings" button to call up this action]
note: Initially I had attacked this problem by taking out the actions layer you see above and applying it directly to the individual buttons with some crude MouseEvent Listener/Handerls... that did not work - at all.
Im sure it may be "easier" to make an array out of it, but with my coding level it may be "easier" to apply it to the buttons.
1b: How I currently see it, I would take the xml-list and duplicate it for the number of galleries I have.
[I would then re-name the xml-list to reflect the name of the galleries they are to represent, i.e. "silk_paintings"]
[also, I would have to rename the folders to "thumbnails1,2,3, etc., & "images 1,2,3, etc"
From there I would duplicate the actions and paste it into the buttons, changing the xml-list name to that of "silk_paintings", etc., as well as write in the MouseEvent listener Handler to make it work. [ah, ha, but what is that magic phrase, I have tried to implement various code from other tutorials, and all in vein.]
Issue #2
At this point I would be tickled pink just to get this to basic function to work.
However, once the buttons are working and calling up the xml, etc., then I need the buttons to stay on the semi-transparent blue color it is whenever in the 'hit' state. [note: NOT pictured above.]
With the way the buttons are currently set up, and with wanting to use scripting to get them to interact with the thumbnail gallery, it will have to be some miraculous code to tell that button what color to stay as whenever its clicked, and of course it going back to white when another button is clicked.
Conclusion:
Since this is an Adobe Forum I would like to make a few additional statements in hopes that the developers, etc. may take heed.
Adobes products are not cheap, and when I went to purchase the websuite I went in as a designer needing a program as not to need to program.
I understand the flexibility that coding gives, but something as simple as linking buttons should not be in the realms of rocket science. [yes, for many its not...but my brain just does not operate that route despite all the tutorials thrown at me.]
Again, it would seem that there would be a button panel where you could drag options like scrolling thumbnail slider, loader, and then parameters would come up. [much like Apples iWeb. - but before the argument of one being pro and the other for non-pros, I see it differently. Software should not be the limiting factor in how flexible you can design, or rather ones lack of programming shouldnt be. With all the talented, and I say this in all humility and honesty, programmers working for Adobe, Im sure something could be programmed like what Im asking for.]
note: Director is a good example, back in 1997 I knew nothing of multimedia and in one week I had assembled a portfolio, clicking buttons, speech, movies, and all. - and no, I dont have the money to buy more software!
At this moment I am at the mercy of someone who reads code like its a nighttime tale they are telling their kids, and who can see the exact issue I have and can share the appropriate, correct code. [as I have noticed, it has to be on target - naturally - but this target changes with just a slight change in the design.]

DalenThe issues with the buttons calling up the scrolling thumbnail panel have been resolved, as well as keeping the buttons in their hit state once clicked, thanks to Rob.
Those that have been following this thread, or stumble upon it in their searches later, may appreciate to see the final solution to this particular issue.
[Hopefully I will be able to update this thread with a url in the future to show the site in operation, which may help somebody with their project in the future if its set up similarly.]
Alas, it would be nice if future versions of flash had a more direct, flexible, user friendly method for creating navigation.
[We may see development beyond the flash ads which everyone seems to loathe... and more creativity with flash in terms of games, web interactivity, & animation.

Problem loading XML-file using SQL*Loader

I'm using 9.2 and tryin to load a XML-file using SQL*Loader.
Loader control-file:

If I remove the first two lines

from data.xml everything works, and the contentents of data.xml are loaded into the table.
Any idea what I'm missing here? Likely the problem is with special characters.

How to save/load player stats?
Okay..this should be my last for a while. The last thing I need to know is how to be able to save/load player stats. I'm working on an RPG and need to know how to create a save file with the players hp, mp, lvl, weapons, and so on, and then be able to load it back later on in the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

displays the following:JFrames have nothing to do with it. Try to separate your GUI from your data and "business logic," both in your mind and in your code. The data and logic are what they are, whether there's a GUI or not. The GUI just displays the data, takes input from the user, and kicks off this or that bit of the logic.
name, lvl, hp, mp, def, att, exp all stored as 'int's
with the exception being name since it's a string. You should define a class (Player or Character might be a good name) that encapsulates that data. That class should be Serializable, or you should use the XMLEncoder/Decoder. Either way, you can just write an instance of that class to a stream, and then later read it back from a stream. I guess you want that stream to go to a file, but that's independent of how you write/read it.

matter to me), then reloaded the next time the player
starts the game. I want to be able to have multiple
save files. Does the user pick the file name? What do you mean "multiple save files"? One for each user? Or any given user able to save multiple different games in progress?
In any case, saving and reloading many files is no different than one file. Either way you need a way to know or select the file name. But all the work you do is the same.
I guess this sounds a little hard, butNo, not at all. Just slightly unclear on certain details of the requirements and on what part in particular is hanging you up.
