  • XML File size changed

    Hi, All:
    I wondering why the XML file size changed after go through DB using CLOB. The original size is 1KB, but after I use the PUT and GET method, the size changed to 8KB. There is a lot of space appened to the content.
    Thanks a lot!

    Can you provide an example of the code you are using for the put / get method. In SQL*PLUS I do not see what you are talking about

  • Does web server bounce required if xml file is changes

    Hi All,
    A quick question. I have changed the query of a VO and it doesnt have any row or vo impl class. Only xml file is moved to server. I cant see any data. Do I have to bounce web server? If not how can I test my vo object is working file?
    Thanks in advance.
    Hitesh

    Please be more specific when you say "I have made some changes in VO object I can see those changes and I have also created custom views but I cant see values from that view".
    You don't need to upload server.xml unless you have added a new VO to AM.

  • Change MessageType name in xml file

    Hi experts,
    I have developed a receiver interface that creates an xml file and put it on an external server.
    Now other side says that this tag:
    <ns0:MT_MexElectronicInvoice_EDICOM xmlns:ns0="urn:Myfirm-EDICOM:MexElectronicInvoice">
    is not correct, they want another description:
    <ns0:MT_MexElectronicInvoice_myFirm xmlns:ns0="urn:Myfirm-EDICOM:MexElectronicInvoice">
    My question is: is possible to change MessageType tag in xml file without changing the message type structure name in Integration Repository?
    thanks
    fabio

    use another mapping which has the target  MT as  <ns0:MT_MexElectronicInvoice_myFirm xmlns:ns0="urn:Myfirm-EDICOM:MexElectronicInvoice">
    Add this mapping after the original mapping in your interface/operation mapping.
    This will be the easiest way to handle this requirement as you will only need to do a one to one mapping.
    Another option will be to write a java mapping to do a simple replace function for the string <ns0:MT_MexElectronicInvoice_EDICOM xmlns:ns0="urn:Myfirm-EDICOM:MexElectronicInvoice"> to  <ns0:MT_MexElectronicInvoice_myFirm xmlns:ns0="urn:Myfirm-EDICOM:MexElectronicInvoice">

  • "PLS-00172: string literal too long" When Writing XML file into a Table

    Hi.
    I'm using DBMS_XMLStore to get a XML file into a db table. See the example below, I'm using that for my PL/SQL format. Problem is that because there're too many XML elements that I use in "xmldoc CLOB:= ...", I get "PLS-00172: string literal too long" error.
    Can someone suggest a workaround?
    THANKS!!!
    DECLARE
    insCtx DBMS_XMLStore.ctxType;
    rows NUMBER;
    xmldoc CLOB :=
    '<ROWSET>
    <ROW num="1">
    <EMPNO>7369</EMPNO>
    <SAL>1800</SAL>
    <HIREDATE>27-AUG-1996</HIREDATE>
    </ROW>
    <ROW>
    <EMPNO>2290</EMPNO>
    <SAL>2000</SAL>
    <HIREDATE>31-DEC-1992</HIREDATE>
    </ROW>
    </ROWSET>';
    BEGIN
    insCtx := DBMS_XMLStore.newContext('scott.emp'); -- get saved context
    DBMS_XMLStore.clearUpdateColumnList(insCtx); -- clear the update settings
    -- set the columns to be updated as a list of values
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx,'EMPNO');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx,'SAL');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdatecolumn(insCtx,'HIREDATE');
    -- Now insert the doc.
    -- This will only insert into EMPNO, SAL and HIREDATE columns
    rows := DBMS_XMLStore.insertXML(insCtx, xmlDoc);
    -- Close the context
    DBMS_XMLStore.closeContext(insCtx);
    END;
    /

    You ask where am getting the XML doc. Well, am not
    getting the doc itself.I either don't understand or I disagree. In your sample code, you're certainly creating an XML document-- your local variable "xmldoc" is an XML document.
    DBMS_XMLSTORE package needs
    to know the canonical format and that's what I
    hardcoded. Again, I either don't understand or I disagree... DBMS_XMLStore more or less assumes the format of the XML document itself-- there's a ROWSET tag, a ROW tag, and a then whatever column tags you'd like. You can override what tag identifies a row, but the rest is pretty much assumed. Your calls to setUpdateColumn identifies what subset of column tags in the XML document you're interested in.
    Later in code I use
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn to specify which
    columns are to be inserted.Agreed.
    xmldoc CLOB :=
    '<ROWSET>
    <ROW num="1">
    <KEY_OLD> Smoker </KEY_OLD>
    <KEY_NEW> 3 </KEY_NEW>
    <TRANSFORM> Specified </TRANSFORM>
    <KEY_OLD> Smoker </KEY_OLD>
    <VALUEOLD> -1 </VALUEOLD>
    EW> -1 </VALUENEW>
         <DESCRIPTION> NA </DESCRIPTION>
    </ROW>
    ROWSET>';This is your XML document. You almost certainly want to be reading this from the file system and/or have it passed in from another procedure. If you hard-code the XML document, you're limited to a 32k string literal, which is almost certainly causing the error you were reporting initially.
    As am writing this I'm realizing that I'm doing this
    wrong, because I do need to read the XML file from
    the filesystem (but insert the columns
    selectively)...What I need to come up with is a proc
    that would grab the XML file and do inserts into a
    relational table. The XML file will change in the
    future and that means that all my 'canonical format'
    code will be broken. How do I deal with anticipated
    change? Do I need to define/create an XML schema in
    10g if am just inserting into one relat. table from
    one XML file?What does "The XML file will change in the future" mean? Are you saying that the structure of the XML document will change? Or that the data in the XML document would change? Your code should only need to change if the structure of the document changes, which should be exceptionally uncommon and would only be an issue if you're adding another column that you want to work with, which would necessitate code changes.
    I found an article where the issue of changing XML
    file is dealt by using a XSL file (that's where I'd
    define the 'canonical format'), but am having a
    problem with creating one, because the source XML is
    screwed up in terms of the format:
    it's not <x> blah </x>
    <x2> blah </x2>
    x2="blah" x3="blah> ...etc
    Can you point me in the right direction, please?You can certainly use something like the DBMS_XSLProcessor package to transform whatever XML document you have into an XML document in an appropriate format for the XMLStore package and pass that transformed XML document into something like your sample procedure rather than defining the xmldoc local variable with a hard-coded document. Of course, you'd need to write appropriate XSL code to do the actual transform.

  • Importing xml file from FCP 7.0 to 6.0

    Hi all.
    I am sure many of you have figured this out, but after a few grey hairs today, I was finally able to open a clients project done in FCP 7.0 into my 6.0.
    In text editor you need to open the xml file and change: <xmel version= "5"> to "4". Then save as an xml file and import into FCP. Everything came across fine including renders, effects, etc.
    Cheers.

    GOOD TIP! And to add to it:
    #46 - Supported XML versions
    Shane's Stock Answer #46 - Final Cut Pro and versions of XML it supports
    FCP4 supports XML version 1 only
    FCP5 supports XML versions 1 and 2
    FCP5.1 supports XML versions 1, 2 and 3
    FCP6 supports XML versions 1, 2, 3 and 4
    FCP7 supports XML versions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

  • SQL Server 2012 Management Studio: Import XML File to SQL Table - XML parsing: illegal qualified name character

    Hi all,
    In my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, I executed the following code:
    CREATE TABLE Products(
    sku INT Primary KEY,
    product_desc VARCHAR(30));
    INSERT INTO Products (sku, product_desc)
    SELECT X.product.query('SKU').value('.', 'INT'),
    X.product.query('Desc').value('.', 'VARCHAR(30)')
    FROM (
    SELECT CAST(x AS XML)
    FROM OPENROWSET(
    BULK 'H:\ZenProducts.xml',
    SINGLE_BLOB) AS T(x)
    ) AS T(x)
    CROSS APPLY x.nodes('Products/Product') AS X(product);
    SELECT sku, product_desc
    FROM Products;
    I got the following message:
    Msg 9455, Level 16, State 1, Line 5
    XML parsing: line 3, character 12, illegal qualified name character
    I have no ideas why the "product" in the statement "SELECT X.product.query('SKU').value('.','INT')" is not legal qualified name charcter!!!???  Please kindly help, advise and respond.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    Hi Manish, Thanks for your response.
    Here is a copy of my ZenProducts.xml:
    <Products>
    <Product>
    <SKU>1<</SKU>
    <Desc>Book</Desc>
    </Product>
    <Product>
    <SKU>2<</SKU>
    <Desc>DVD</Desc>
    </Product>
    <Product>
    <SKU>3<</SKU>
    <Desc>Video</Desc>
    </Product>
    I found the wrong "<<" in my xml file and changed it to the right "<" for the statement<SKU>1</sku>. I executed the corrected code and I got the following new message:
    Msg 2714, Level 16, State 6, Line 1
    There is already an object named 'Products' in the database.
    I don't know how to remove the old, existing the 'Products' object in the database and execute the corrected code again. Please kindly help, advise and tell me how to resolve this new problem.
    Many Thanks,
    Scott Chang
    P. S. I played with another project to get the 'Products' object in my database before. Frankly, I don't know where the old 'Products' object and the database are. Please enlighten me in resolving this matter more clearly.
    You welcome Scott, As Olaf mentioned in this post, there was already a table exists , so need to drop your Products table.
    Apart from this, I guess either you did not pasted the full XML file or what, I needed to have the (  </Products>)closing tag in your XML file as follows.
    <Products>
    <Product>
    <SKU>1</SKU>
    <Desc>Book</Desc>
    </Product>
    <Product>
    <SKU>2</SKU>
    <Desc>DVD</Desc>
    </Product>
    <Product>
    <SKU>3</SKU>
    <Desc>Video</Desc>
    </Product>
    </Products>
    You can use following script to drop if your
    Products table is already existing.
    if exists(select 1 from sys.tables where name ='Products')
    drop table Products
    CREATE TABLE Products(
    sku INT Primary KEY,
    product_desc VARCHAR(30));
    INSERT INTO Products (sku, product_desc)
    SELECT X.product.query('SKU').value('.', 'INT'),
    X.product.query('Desc').value('.', 'VARCHAR(30)')
    FROM (
    SELECT CAST(x AS XML)
    FROM OPENROWSET(
    BULK 'H:\ZenProducts.xml',
    SINGLE_BLOB) AS T(x)
    ) AS T(x)
    CROSS APPLY x.nodes('Products/Product') AS X(product);
    SELECT sku, product_desc
    FROM Products;
    Let us know if you face any other problem.

  • IMSS Min Normalized Measure not appearing in imsmanifest.xml file

    Hello,
    The IMSS Min Normalized Measure line is not appearing in my imsmanifest.xml file. It used to, but since I upgraded to Captivate 5.5, I don't see it anymore. I have thoroughly checked my settings:
    Reporting is enabled
    SCORM 2004/Manifest/Default is selected
    Report Status: Pass/Fail
    Report to LMS as: Percent
    Report Data: Quiz Results and Slide Views
    Reporting Level: Interactions and score
    Did Captivate 5.5 fix it so we don't have to add the minimum score into the zip file anymore? If not, how do I correct this so the line shows up?
    Thanks,
    Barb

    Hi Melody,
    What I've been told by Adobe is that Captivate 5.5 produces a different looking manifest file than previous versions of Captivate.  For our LMS (Knowlagent), we require this line of coding so that we can manually input the minimum passing grade in a course.
    Adobe said I could try to edit the default SCORM template to suit our LMS, but our LMS said it wasn't possible.
    So instead, our LMS told us that if we adjusted the line of coding in each manifest file, it would work. And it has (it's just a little extra work each time you publish).
    This is what you need to do:
    Find the below block of code in your imsmanifest.xml file and change the value for satisfiedByMeasure from false (default) to true.  Once that line is changed, in the same block of code paste in the minNormalizedMeasure line that was present in the file previously (both settings are highlighted below).  The .80 is what we chose as our minimum passing grade (80%) but you can change that number to whatever you want.
                                                                <imsss:sequencing>
                                                                                    <imsss:objectives>
                                                                                                         <imsss:primaryObjective objectiveID="PRIMARYOBJ" satisfiedByMeasure="true">
                                                                                                                             <imsss:minNormalizedMeasure>.80</imsss:minNormalizedMeasure>
                                                                                                         </imsss:primaryObjective>
                                                                                    </imsss:objectives>
    Hope that helps! Are you using Captivate 5.5 too? Which LMS are you using?
    Thanks,
    Barb

  • How to include webconfig "appsettings" as a paramter on the setparameter.xml file along with webdeploy pacakge?

    Hi,
    I have a scenario to include the web config "appsettigns" on the setparameter.xml file to change the values from Release Management workflow to before web deploy parameter transform process starts.
    By default, DB connection string parameter's added on the setparameter.xml and I am able to successfully change them before deployment.
    I have to get the below appsettings values on the webdploy package(setparameter.xml file). so that I can change the "Value" to promote the build from QA to PRO by passing customer values.
    Webconfig - appsettings section
    <appSettings>
    <add key="StorageConnectionString" value="blogstorageconnectionstring" xdt:Transform="SetAttributes" xdt:Locator="Match(key)" />
    <add key="EmailSendTo" value="[email protected]" xdt:Transform="SetAttributes" xdt:Locator="Match(key)" />
    </appSettings>

  • Modifying XML files with JDOM

    Hi:
    I've been trying to get up to speed with JDOM, and while it seems pretty intuitive, I've been having a problem w/ modifying XML documents.
    Namely, once I get a Document object from a (skeleton) XML file, do changes made to the Document object through, say, addContent() propagate to the original file? My gut feeling is no, although this was certainly what I had expected initially.
    Here's a code fragment of what I had tried to do to populate a barebones XML file:
                   Document doc = builder.build(output);
              // add 100 elements, all the same
              for (int count = 0; count < 100; count++)
                   Element curr = new Element("book");
                   // create child nodes for book
                   Element title = new Element("title");
                   title.addContent("Book " + (count + 1));
                   Element author = new Element("author");
                   author.addContent("Author " + (count + 1));
                   Element price = new Element("price");
                   price.addContent("Price " + (count + 1));
                   curr.addContent(title);
                   curr.addContent(author);
                   curr.addContent(price);
                   doc.getRootElement().addContent( curr );
              }

    Mikael,
    This sounds like one of the many quirks (perhaps bugs) related to how FrameMaker handles non-FM files in books. The current book model doesn't play well with XML files as chapters and this seems like yet another problem. Apparently, if an xref does not target another .fm file in the book, Frame assumes that the target file is not in the book and therefore will not be in the book PDF.
    There have been discussions here about this in the past. The solution that I use is to run an API client before publishing that converts all XML files to .fm files, and redirect all xrefs appropriately. Then, book features work as expected and PDFs come out as normal. This is not feasible, however, without the automation from the API client.
    There may be some who would say that the best approach is to use XML and books the way that the designers did account for... that is, the whole book becomes an XML document with entity references to the separate chapters. In my work, though, this model was not appropriate... rather, I needed a binary FM book to act like a book, except with XML files as chapters. So, I think I understand your situation.
    Is API programming or FrameScript an option for you? I think it may be the only way to get what you are looking for.

  • Converting Dom Document object into XML file removes the DTD

    Hi All
    My xml is dtd. I have one xml file. i changed the node value after that i want to create a xml file with the same name. I created new xml file but i am not seeing the old dtd in the new file. This process is done with the help of jaxp.
    My code is given below
    File fileInput = new File("input.xml");
              File fileOutput = new File("output.xml");
              DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
              factory.setExpandEntityReferences(false);
              DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
              Document document = builder.parse(fileInput);
              TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
              Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
    transformer.setOutputProperty(javax.xml.transform.OutputKeys.INDENT, "true");
              transformer.setOutputProperty("{http://xml.apache.org/xslt}indent-amount", "2");
              DOMSource source = new DOMSource(document);
              FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(fileOutput);
              StreamResult result = new StreamResult(fos);
              transformer.transform(source, result);
    Thanks in advance

    The Transformer API does not guarantee the preservation of that information. You may want to check the DOM L3 Load/Save package (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/index.html). Alternatively, you may force things by setting the additional output properties 'doctype-public' and 'doctype-system'.

  • XML file too big?

    Hi, I'm a web designer attempting to use the find/replace function in an iTunes XML file to change a directory.
    Seems simple enough:
    find: file://localhost/Volumes/iTunes
    replace: file://localhost/Volumes/iTunes/iTunesLibrary
    The XML file is 41MB. It seems when I open it it only opens the first 8MB and just cuts off the rest of the code. (literally in the middle of an XML tag). I've tried this many times, allowing it to open overnight just to make sure it has enough time to load, but it always does the same thing. Perhaps there's another editor that can provide a find/replace function since Dreamweaver CS4 seems incapable of opening large files properly?
    Dreamweaver CS4, MacBook Pro 2008, OS X 10.6.4

    Smultron, BBEdit. I believe that is "as designed" in DW.
