XML Form, RenderListItem bug

Hello, all KM-developers!
Please try following simple task sequence:
1) In folder "News" create standard SAP news.
2) Fill the fields and push Save button
3) Open the news item again for editing
4) Change for example title of the news item
5) Push Save button
6) In the list you can see old (!!!) title. If you open news item in separate window (for editing or just for viewing) you can see new title
7) Open XML form in editor and regenerate project
8) Only after regenerating project RenderListItem will display correct values.

Hi!
      There's an SP13 Patch 3 which addresses this and a couple of other problems.
    Besides, you can also clear renderlistitem cache (System Administration -> Monitoring -> KnowldegeManagement -> Cache monitor -> ca_xmlforms_renderlistitems ) to update the render list values.

XML Forms and URL links in RenderListItem Form

Hello everyone,
I'm new at XML Forms and trying to do my first forms. I have this scenario:
- user fills several entry fields in "Edit" Form, 2 of them include URL Links.
- Every new entry in "RenderListItem" Form lists fields "Title" and URL1 URL2.
In RenderListItem Form, i would like to control the behaviour of these links. Link URL1 should open in a new window, but URL2 should stay in the same browser window.
How can i achieve this ?

XML Forms Buidler: Rename Show and RenderListItem in Preview

Hi everybody,
how can I rename or translate the links in the preview page of XML Forms Builder. When a user clicks on "preview" in the edit form, a new windows is shown with two links:
- Show
- RenderListItem
I want to change the text for those links.
Any ideas?

Hi Raghu,
I have users with different languages set. All items are displayed in the users' language depending on the translation files of the xml forms project.
But when I click on preview in the edit form, a new window opens with two links "Show" and "RenderListItem". They are in english (the text is the ID of the form) for all users. I want to change those two link texts. If those texts can be made translatable thats fine, but chaging them to a fixed value would be enough.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.!

Xml forms builder- What exactly do I have to do in RenderListItem?

Hello Experts,
I have designed the form with Lables, Text Areas and Teat Fields as per our requirement in the Edit form of XML Forms Builder. And, now can you please let me know what has to be done in RenderListItem and what's the purpose ?
I have been reading a few docs which says that the Layout has to be designed in RenderListItem form. I'm sorry, but no document has clearly explained me how to do that
Could anybody be kind enough to explain that in detail.

Hi,
When you want to display the the articles that are published by using your xml form in a KM Navigation iview.
We will display only the subject, author and some intiial news to the end user in KM Navigation iview. This can be done through Renderlist item which you need to mention in your collection renderer of your layoutset.
The entire content will be displayed only after clicking the artccle.

Delete button in xml form

In the RenderListItem form, I did included two buttons :
- edit button to edit the news => work perfectly
- delete button to delete the news => the problem
When I click on the delete button, I receive the following message :
XML - Forms
Item /BvD-it SEPNews/Others/0056c04e-7c12-2a10-8185-c74e6f577c75.xml does not exist
but the file do exist.
When I click on the OK button (at the end of the message), the news is effectively deleted.
So this is functionnaly working, but it comes with a non relevant error message.

Hi ,
there are various ways of doing it..
You can try as the previous post says or also you can try When new block instance trigger and disable the item
using set_item_property , it all depends on when and how you want to diable that item.

Error in Browser field of XML Form

Hi All,
We have recently upgraded our portal system from NW 7.00 (SP23) to NW 7.01 (SP09).
Post upgrade we are facing an issue in XML forms for file browser element.
On the XML forms we have an element u201Cfile browseru201D which we use for attaching documents as attachments in the XML forms.
After upgrade, when we select a document using this element u201Cfile browseru201D, the file path is getting uploaded in the field without the file name. Hence after saving the XML forms when we try to display it and open the attachment in the XML forms, it is giving the following error.
The folder you are looking for has no displayable content. You can try one of the following:
u2022 Access the folder using the Navigation user interface.
u2022 Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work.
Example : Suppose we are attaching a file f1.xls in /documents/images folder, the path captured in the browser textbox is /documents/images (it should be /documents/images/f1.xls).
This was working fine before the upgrade to NW 7.01 SP09.
Our system is already running LIVE on production and we are facing major issues due to this problem. Kindly provide a solution at the earliest.

Font size of label element in xml forms

Hi,
I am modififying the default xml template sap_app_news xml form in the form bulider.
I have added a new label in renered list with the cation as read more .
I want that on clicking the read more label the entire news should be displayed .
I am able to achieve this functtionality
Hosoever, the font size of this label is not getting reduced,
these are the properties for my label element
i) Caption Read More
ii) Hyperlink -Display
iii) Style -Functional Link
iv)Text Colr - Blue
v) Font -arial
vi) Font size - 2
vii)Display HT - No
viii)Width 80
viii) Height 20
I have changed the font size , height etc ..but teh label size doesnt get effected .
I havent craeted any new child in schema for this label ,
Can somebdy pls help . is it a bug, I have tried various combination but the font size of label is not reducing , color though is changing ..

Hi,
In XML Form
1) Edit form is used for designing the user interface.
2) Show form is used for displaying the xml form to the end user
3) RenderListItem is used for rendering the xml form into a small description like 1News1, 2news2 etc..
    Here you need to display only the heading of the xml form
After you create the xml form
Create Layout set where you need to give the proerties like xml renderer form , no of items to display etc...

Background image for XML Forms- RenderList Item

Hi Everybody,
We are working with XML Forms for creating News, and in this process the requirement is to set a background image for the form. It's working in Show Form but in RenderListItem it doesn't (as mnetioned by SAP in the documentation).
Is there a work around for acheiving this?.

Have u referred to the above document.......
 u can set the background image in show form of xml.u can set in also that renderlistitem.
change the background image property & specify the image
u want to display with.....
It is the place where u ve to display the news....
Have u checked the path settings while creating ur News Explorer & News Browser Iviews....
check one time the path settings also.This path helps u to navigate actually to the folder u want to refer with.

Disable field on XML Form Builder

I can disable a field in a XML form . For example, the date of creation and the SAP user, so that the user does not change this information. Thank you very much!

Hi David,
Do not use "date of creation" and "SAP user" fields in "Edit" form. You don't need to add this fields to "Edit" page of your xml forms since they are available as Properties.
In the Project Browser go to
Expand Properties -> System item and you can see
"Created By" -> for Sap User and
"Created" -> for date
You can use lots of variables here in your RenderListItem and Show views.

Urgent - XML Form Builder - lnode

Hi,
Strange behaviour, i created a new XML Form Project and have defined a schema with some nodes (day, month, year, lead, body, link under root node), for data schema.
I build the Edit form and run it, everything works fine until push save button, when i do this, i get an error message saying that "..star-tag link different from end-tag root...".
I made some changes until i find that by simple removing the node link from data schema, everythings works fine, if put it again, gives the same error message.
Is there any limitation of using a node link, under root node of data schema? Any one tried?

Hi Darin,
Changing the node name link to another think, was my first thought, but there are 2 issues:
- What's the reason why a node named link doesn't work?(Looks like a "bug")
- I have upgraded the portal from SR1 SP09 to SP11, and in SP09 i have already created some items with XML Form with this structure, and because of the upgrade, i have already to change all the XML Forms, because listShow and listEdit doesn't work anymore, and now, for some strange reason i can't see my old news, because doesn't accept de node named link and i can't rename the node named link, because this means that i have to re-save all old news items.
Other think is, all XML Forms, incluind the standards ones, HTML editor are not working, clicking on any option available(Bold, Italic, ...), gives a message saying "[Object required]".
If you get another thought on this, please tell me.

Multivalued metadata properties in XML Form Builder

I have created some multi-valued properties in KM having their own namespace. When I assign these properties to the XML FB, the values are loaded only if I use a combobox. But my requirement is to selct multiple values, so if I associate a checkbox as the data type, I find none of values are loaded into XML project. Have anyone tried this out? Is it a bug? I am using SPS14.

I tried the workaround you described. Defined the allowed values, checked the declared property as "Multi-Valued", selected "allowedvalues_multivalued" as property renderer, refreshed the properties inside of the XML Forms workbench and wired this property to the checkboxes whose captions and values correspond to the allowed values just created and so on.
When I generate the XSL template, click on the checkboxes inside of my HTML output and click on "Save" only the first value of those I have checked will be saved. (as to be seen in the details of the generated document)
Although it seems that I have done everything all right, obviously I haven't.
When I look into the generated XSL document I can see why this happens because several checkboxes with the name will be rendered.
What did I wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Html Editor in XML Form builder

Hi,
I have created a FAQ in XML Form Builder and I am using html Editor in the form. I need to give link to some selected text by using "web link for selection" option form the html Editor and I tried but in the iview the text does not appear as link.
can any one help me what is a problem? or it is bug in Html editor.

The project you created appear in the KM folder ( /etc/xmlforms)or the folder based on your settings. You can open the form you created in the km and can check whether the link command is there in the file.You can edit it directly from here to correct the error.

XML Forms link issue

Hi guys,
i created a news item in xml forms builder.
In the Renderlistitem page i had used a external link in the hyperlink property.
The link is working good but when i try to open the link it is opening in the same page.
is there any way so that i could open the link in the new page.

i created a news item. it has only two forms ( Edit -- To enter data and Renderlist Form --- to display in the home page )
structure of renderlist form is something like this
name : xyz
status : xyz
website : www.xyz.com.
for website i had created external link in the hyperlink property of renderlist form to connect to our intranet site.
the link works good.
i could able to get what i wanted.
but when user click this link website is opening in the same page of Home.
i want that to open in the new page.
guys this is very urgent requirement
