XML Form Viewing

Does anybody know if it is possible to use the KM navigation iview to determine the document displayed in a KM document iview?
I am using XML forms to create structured content. I would like to have a list of documents from a KM folder (created using the XML forms) listed in the detailed navigation and the content of the document displayed in a KM document iview when selected by the user.

There are a couple of options. For a rough start, you can open the XML in a web browser, then right click and select view source.
I am working from memory, but in Acrobat 7 you can import XML data (just can't remember the actual menu). Navigate to the returned XML and when you click OK, the returning data should be inserted into the right fields. One thing you need to make sure is that in LC Designer all of the fields/objects that you want data to be returned for are bound to name/normal in the Object > Binding palette. If objects are bound to none, then they will not participate in the data processing.
If you distribute your form through www.acrobat.com, then there are basic tools for viewing/processing the data online.

How to achieve Single content but multiple views in XML form builder

Hi,
I have requirement something like this.
I am using xmlform builder to generate the content template for our portal.
I have 5 links where I need to render html content dynamically. I am using NewsExplorer and NewsBrowser layout. Presently I have created 5 xmlforms project and design the layout in the renderlist item. I am not satisfied with my approach. It seems very inefficient of doing it as all the content layout is same. but all the different iviews has different content to pick.
To make myself clear I am giving with an example
I have two iviews
Policy1 and Policy2 which are KM Navigation Iviews whose init path are diferent path to get the different content.
As the content has to generate dynamically , I am using NewsAuthor to create the content.
To achieve this , I have created 2 xmlform project( though the rendering format is SAME) and 4 iviews ( news explorer and newsbrowser for each ie policy1 and policy2).
Since I need to generate some 100 contents like this .
I do not think my approach is a very efficient one though the rendering format remains same.
I wish to achieve this by using one xml form project , one News author and one news browser to create different content as long as the rendering template format is same
this is something like this
when I click on the Policy1 link for content creation , It should only shows Policy1 content format . and should not display the content authoring for policy2. This holds good for the viewing also .and also I would like to create only one xml form project as long as the rendering format is same.
can anyone please tell me how to achieve this ?

To make your project link alone visible, try this
To make the global setting for the availability of XML forms, choose Content Management > Form-Based Publishing > Forms Availability > Global Setting.
To make specific settings for folders, choose Content Management > Form-Based Publishing > Forms Availability > Folder Settings.
You need to give the name(s) of those XML project(s) you want to display in the Forms to Include parameter in the Settings for Folders.

Viewing XML Forms in a folder

Hi, I wanted to know if we can control what XML form shows up in a Document library i.e. if I right click on a folder in KM, say Supply Chain > New > Forms, then is there a way by which I can control what forms show up when I click on "New". Thanks for your help.

Hi Victor, Thanks for your help. In my portal, the Document libraries I am trying to access i.e. SRM, SCM, Netweaver etc. are in:
root > GCP Content > GCP Documents > Solutions and Services. Now, when I go to any of these folders, i.e. SRM etc. I want to be able to control which forms are being displayed. I did create a test folder at the location which you have mentioned and also mentioned the required Folder Path but still it does not show up in : root > GCP Content > GCP Documents > Solutions and Services. Can you please provide me with some assistance? Thanks.

How to run report to show all the records in the form view of Siebel 8.1.1

My template has "for-each" section and there are more than 1 records in the form view. But when generating report, there is only one record in the report. Can anyone offers help? Thanks a lot.

Could you generate a sample XML from BIP Administrator for the IO on which report is based , and apply it to RTF and see if you are getting the desired values.

Unable to edit the content of an XML form

Hello Experts,
I am facing a weird issue after updating my XML form.
Earlier scenario :
We were displaying only the Title of the news along with the content.
New scenario :
We had to display image also along with the title and content of the news.
Changes i did :
I have updated my XML form with adding an Image UI in the XML form.
Issue :
After adding the image UI and generating the project in the content part it is giving a message as in the image below.
Due to this message as "Loading content please wait" i am not able to save the content of the news due to which i am getting dump on the screen.
Please help.
Its an urgent issue.

Is the portal 7.3? can you let us know the version? Trigger 5-6 thread dumps with 30 secs interval each for your server when you reproduce the issue.

How to display system property in XML forms

Hi
We are using XML forms template for publishing news in KM. In the show form we got author field (a label in the form) which is mapped to system property createdby (PropertyReference = /Properties/default:createdby).But while displaying the form author is not getting populated. When I try to edit the form in XML forms builder in data model tab under properties node no property is visible. Nothing is shown up in properties even after reload option is selected from context menu of properties node.
I cheked by manually editing PropertyReference to some other property (e.g. modifiedby) but nothing is showing up.
Can you please suggest how the createdby system property can be shown in the xml form?

Hi Sudeep,
Please try to open the formbuilder in another machine and try to see the properties xml form design view.
You can even directly can create a lable in show form and add the property name along with the nama space name.
For default properties namspace is default.Create a lable UI element in show form and select the datasource property and add the property value in that.
With we can show file related system generated properties in show form.

How to see List of action type & action code in Form View..

Hi~ Guys ... please help me ~
In Design Tab of workspace...
I have worked like this..
step 1) I made a Form Wiew using a Add Input Form from BI Query Icon ,
step 2) submit button was made in the configure element automatically ,,
step 3) click the submit button to execute the query and it works normally.
            (action code is in the action tab of control properties.. maybe it was created automatically..)
but, I would like to create submit button in toolbar,,
step 1) I click the create toolbar in context menu of form view
step 2) click the add button to create toolbar button,,
step 3) rename Button
step 4) I'd like to click the PLUS button to add the acton name and action code
             -> Menu name : select the type of action that will be triggered by this field (is located under the define button )
but , step 4).. I do not see List of Action Name like Submit Form
                      Plus Icon do not working..
I don't know what the problem is ..( I installed xml parser 4.0 , svg viewer 3.0 , explorer 8 )
I wonder I missed a step or I did not install other programs

( GML/Client/VC server/Flex/Potal Content/Potal connector - Version is 700.23 )
I tried to run in compatibility mode as you said..
but, The results are same as old,,
Is it any relation in Client(PC) setting ?

Issue in Java Scipt in XML form

I have one issue in our client portal, which is really giving me hard time to resolve.
So I have come to you experts for helping me to resolve this issue.
So below are the details of the issue.
Actually it goes like that, we are using B.Texx in our Portal Environment and most of the work is done by the users in the portal, who has author rights. Please note that Authors have the right to Edit and save the content.
Most of the things are made on XML forms, with the help of Java Scripts.
Now there is one XML form(Add General Content), through which users add the general contents and there is one template provided to the user for that content. The XML forms are integrated here with the Tiny MCE editor.
Now, there is one link (Insert/edit link) in the Tiny MCE editor, when we write some text in the body and select the text, the link in the editor gets activated and when we click on the link, a pop up comes up, in which there is a browse button, through which we select the Navigation Element Link , which takes us in the navigation of the portal content(the way it is viewed by user in the portal according to the roles ), showing us different content and we select an content and press finished. Now the selected text becomes as a link in the body of xml form, then we fill up the title and there is one preview button. When we click on the preview button, the link is displayed to us.But when we click on that link nothing happens.
Please note that if we save that form, the links appears on portal and we are able to navigate through the link.
For this I have checked the js file(xmlformpreview_redirect.js) responsible.I am sharing the code of the js file below.

How can I open XML form in the Adobe reader, but not through the browser extention

I am saving the document as Adobe Dynamic XML Form (useing Adobe LiveCycle Designer), When I open the document I get this error and I do have a Adobe reader installer.

Attachments in XML Form Builder

I have created a XML Forms Builder Project.
News Author will create News using this form and attach Documents to the news.
for ataching document I am using a Schema Element with datatype set as rid .
from this element i created a Browser control .
At run time , i am able to select files from KM using the browser control.
But while Viewing the News when i click on the Hyperlink for that control
it opens up the same news again .. (its referencing self instead of the document)
What property setting i am missing ?
what is the correct way to attach documents and view them using a project created by XML Forms Builder ?

Render List not visible in XML Form Builder project

Hi,
I have created a xml form project, when I enter content in the show form and save it only "Edit and Delete" buttons are visible but the content is not visible. When I traverse to the path where the xml's are stored, I can view the content in xml format.
How can I resolve this.

The size of a form viewer

Hi, friends,
For some reasons, I would like to develop an off-line tool say a form viewer using Java Swing. The data will be stored in xml files. The form viewer will display the data as electronic form. A user can edit the form and store the updated form in another xml file. The tool should also allow to compare the data stored in two seperated xml files. The tool should also allow to merge the data in two seperated xml files and store the result in a new xml file.
Do you have any idea of the size of this application?
I would like to know if this tool can be sent by flopy diskette.

Well, this question is objective... but based on how Java compiles code, it's hard to get applications up to 1.4 MB in size.
The great thing about java is that it compiles only the classes that get used in your application. By comparision, C++ programs will compile all the files included in your application whether you use all the classes or not. This adds a lot of bulk to C++ programs.
In general, you applications my reach up to a couple hundred KB if they are very complex. I would assume your xml application my be about 100 KB if it has a lot of classes involved. Plus you can compress the files into one Jar file to make it smaller and easier to distribute.
Just from experience I would say you final application will be under 100 KB. Just my opinion.
Also, remember the user of your application needs the Java runtime environment intalled...

Problem in xml form

Hi,
i have created one xml form using form builder...there are three views..edit, renderer list and show....then in portal, i created one iview using newsexplorer layout set for edit form and newsbrowser layout set for show form . My problem is...wich layout set i have to choose for getting rendererlist form? one more thing, before creating iviews, should i have to create any folder in km repository ? i am using ep 6 sp2.

Hi ram singh,
There are some steps that you could follow :
1. Create the XML FORMS using the XML FORMS Builder
    a) On Edit panel create your form that will be visible on NewsExplorer Layouset.
    b) On RenderList create how your form wil be visible on NewsBrowser Layouset.
2. Create first Iview for Admin:
   a) Set the layouset to "NewsExplorer"
   b) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
   c) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
3. Create second Iview for users:
   a) Set the layouset to "NewsBrowser"
   b) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
   c) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
That's all! Now you can create new items using the Admin iView, which will be storage on KM path that you had set on steps 2 and 3. When you open your User Iview will be show all xml files that exists on your "/MyFolderForXMLFORM".

Anonymous access to XML Form Builder file

Hi to all
I create a XML Form Builder project to create a method for news publishing.
I use an KM navigation iview tath containing XML file.
If i authenticate me on the portal i view all correctly.
the problem is with anonymous user, the portal required me autentication.
I setting the folder permission where the XML file is stored.
I setting the permission for the KM Document Iview.
I view correctly image, html file, ecc with anonymous user.
PLEASE help me.
