XML formatting help

HI All,
I have a question. I have written a sample java program that will create an xml file. The program works properly, but the generated xml is not formatted. How can i format the xml file.
The java program code is
package com.spi.xml;
import java.io.File;
import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
import javax.xml.transform.Result;
import javax.xml.transform.Source;
import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
import org.w3c.dom.Document;
import org.w3c.dom.Element;
public class WriteXML {
    static Document document;
        public static void buildDOM() {
            DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
            try {
              DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
              document = builder.newDocument();
              Element root = (Element) document.createElement("GUI");
              document.appendChild(root);
              Element curElement = document.createElement("Button");
              curElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Submit"));
              root.appendChild(curElement);
              curElement = document.createElement("Button");
              curElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Cancel"));
              root.appendChild(curElement);
              // Save the document to the disk file
                TransformerFactory tranFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
                Transformer aTransformer = tranFactory.newTransformer();
                Source src = new DOMSource(document);
                Result dest = new StreamResult(new File("C:\\xmlFileName.xml"));
                aTransformer.transform(src, dest);
            } catch (Exception pce) {
                pce.printStackTrace();
        public static void main(String[] args) {
        buildDOM();
}The output (XML file)
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<GUI><Button>Submit</Button><Button>Cancel</Button></GUI>How can i format the xml file for multiple lines?

If you are using XML Schemas, you should check out
XML Beans -- you'll never (?) think about low-level
APIs again:
http://xmlbeans.apache.org/If you are not using XML Schemas, why not?We will be using the XML Schemas later. This is just a sample to write an xml file. The xml should be built dynamically.

  • XML formating help Please

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm new to XML and hoping someone can help me. XML seems pretty straightforward, so I'm not sure why I can't get my head around this.
    Here's what I need.
    I'm building a webpage in Dreamweaver using Spry that will have a list of all 50 U.S. states. When you click on a state, it will populate a side area with 2 or 3 cities from that particular state along with a phone number for each city.
    Can anyone give me a small sample of how the formating would be for this?
    I'd really appreciate any help you can give.
    Thanks,
    Moon71

    Your question has nothing to do with Java. Locking this thread.

    For such node level operations I think that DOM would be a good idea. So here you go. Look for some nice tutorial for DOM and you got it.

  • Help with Labview for Linux application - datalog to XML format

    Hi,
    I am working on an application that makes use of a PDA for instrument control and data acquisition, and all our code has been written with the use Labview PDA 8.2. The instrument data is returned wirelessly to a remote server, and one of the specifications we set early in the project was the data would be returned in XML format in line with Labview's inbuilt XML schema.
    Unfortunately, this XML funtion is not available on Labview PDA! We have made a change to return the data in Labview's 'Datalog' format, and then we now intend to run an additional application on the server to convert this information to XML before passing the data to our customer's software.
    We have successfully done this with Labview for windows, but our customer's server is Linux based.
    Is anyone aware of someone (or a company) who would be able to take our existing 'datalog-to-XML' vi and compile it for Linux? The program is really simple, and I would hope that all the functionality we use is supported in Labview for Linux.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark
    LabVIEW VIs that are developed in a Windows environment can be used in a Linux version of LabVIEW. As long as the VIs have not got Windows specific features such as ActiveX or Windows dll call you can run the VI in Linux. Also there maybe some specific drivers that are not supported under the Linux environment (see link). The VI will simply be recompiled in Linux. The Linux user must have a copy of the Linux LabVIEW Development System installed though.

    Hi Prabhu,
    The program SAPFPAYM generates the payment Medium  on the basis of your configuration and background settings, this program does not bydefault give the output in the XML.
    Varient creation for the PMW in T. Code OBPM4, use the same program, which i already done it, even without this it is not be possible to create any payment Medium.

    we have tried to customize the existing email template of DAC, but it is not serving the purpose to generate the ticket in HPSC.
    To generate the HPSC ticket, we have a XML format. We need to customize DAC to use this format.

    hi,,,
    it seems OS package version conflict
    Please check glibc and openmotif version (its responsible for reports)
    and
    Set the environment variable MALLOC_CHECK_=0 and bounce the Concurrent Managers
    MALLOC_CHECK_ can be changed in two places :-
    1. Add this to the $APPL_TOP/custom<TWO_TASK>_<HOSTNAME>.env
    MALLOC_CHECK_=0
    Then restart the concurrent managers and retest
    2. Change it in the adovars.env file
    Again bounce the concurrent managers and retest

  • Binary to XML format

    Hi all,
    To post a document to bank i have used digital signature using SSF functions. It is working fine. And my recipient received the data with digital signature.
    Now I have a problem, when i use SSF function my input data is converted into binary format, which is not accepatble by the recipient system. They wanted the format to be in XML. How do I convert my binary data to XML format. OR am i doing something wrong.
    My program flow is like this,
    1. get the data from SAP.
    2. using FM SSF_KRN_SIGN.
    3. Output of SSF_KRN_SIGN, is passed to SSF_KRN_ADDSIGN.
    4. Output of SSF_KRN_ADDSIGN is passed to HTTP_POST to the bank.
    When I send data to FM SSF_KRN_SIGN, my input data is plain text format, the return value from this FM is in binary format.
    Could any one help me in solving my problem .
    Regards,
    prabhu rajesh.

    I believe that the XML and the digital signature are two separate things.  When you call SSF_KRN_SIGN it takes whatever input data you have and signs it - producing a binary output table. If your bank wants its dta in XML, you will have to change your input data to the function SSF_KRN_SIGN into XML before passing it to the function.  Use the iXML classes or if on 620 the Call Transformation command (Both of which have been discussed on this forum before) to change your data into iXML.  Output your XML Stream as a character Table.  Feed this Character table into the function modeul SSF_KRN_SIGN.  The results of this function module will be your XML stream, digitally signed, and in binary format.
