  • Convert XML string into an abap format date and time

    Hi,
    Does anyone know of a method or a function module in ABAP which converts XML string into an abap format date and time.
    Here is a part of the xml that I want to convert.
    <ns2:EventDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45+10:00</ns2:EventDateTime>
    <ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45.987+10:00</ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>
    Currently EventDateTime and EventMessageTransmissionDateTime are type XSDDATETIME_Z and these are converted to proper dates and times. We will be changing these fields to a STRING instead of XSDDATETIME_Z. The reason for this is to make the field more versatile. The customer would be receiving dates with Zulu (2009-09-23T12:00:00Z), with offsets (2009-09-23T12:00:00+10:00/-10:00) and just local timestamp (2009-09-23T12:00:00). With this, we need to make the date fields as string
    to be able to accept the various date formats (esp. the local timestamp).
    I am looking for a standard function module or method that will convert the xml string to a proper date and time abap format.
    Would appreciate anyone's help!
    Thanks.

  • Converting SQL Server text field containing XML string to XI XML via JDBC

    Hello
    My client has a SQL Server database containing a field of type Text which contains an XML string e.g.
    <DispatchJob> <DispatchDateTime>2003-09-29T13:29:15</DispatchDateTime> <AssignedFSE>F118</AssignedFSE> <DispatchJobPurchase> <DealerID>14C5</DealerID> <DateOfPurchase>1997-10-01T00:00:00</DateOfPurchase> </DispatchJob>
    I am using JDBC to access this but could someone please recommend the best and easiest solution for converting this string to XI XML for subsequent mapping to BAPI or IDOC or ABAP Proxy and transmission to SAP. There are other fields as well in the database table so thoughts at the moment are to use a normal graphical message mapping followed by an XSL mapping. Will an XSL mapping be able to do this and if so is that the best solution?
    Also I need to do the reverse of this and take fields coming from SAP via BAPI,IDOC etc. and convert them to a single database table field as an XML string also via the JDBC adapter. What is the best way to do this. Could it be done simply with functions in the graphical mapping e.g. concatenate?
    Thank you in advance.
    Trevor

    Hi Michal
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
    I was anticipating XSLT for reading from the SQL Server database and converting the XML string.
    But how would you convert the individual fields from SAP into a single field as an XML string for storing in the SQL Server database? What approach would you use?
    Regards
    Trevor

  • A class to format an XML string into indented xml code

    I am looking for a class or a piece of code to format an XML string into indented xml code
    for example: an XML string as follows
    <servlet><servlet-name>Login</servlet-name>servlet-class>ucs.merch.client.system.LoginServlet</servlet-class></servlet><servlet-mapping><servlet-name>Login</servlet-name>
    to format into :

    <servlet-class>ucs.merch.client.system.LoginServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>

    <url-pattern>/Login</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

    Xerces has a class called OutputFormat
    If you have your XML document in memory, you can format it using the method setIndenting(true) on the OutputFormat class. The following is an example:
    assuming xmlDoc is our document and fileName is the name of the file we wish to write to:
    OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat(xmlDoc);
    // setup output file name
    PrintWriter printwriter = new PrintWriter(new FileWriter(fileName, false));
    // construct an XMLSerializer for writing the document
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer( printwriter, format );
    // Ensure output is indented correctly...
    format.setIndenting(true);
    // set serializer as a DOM Serializer
    serializer.asDOMSerializer();
    // serialize the document
    serializer.serialize(xmlDoc);
    hope this helps!

  • Convert String to Date and Format the Date Expression in SSRS

    Hi,
    I have a parameter used to select a month and year  string that looks like:    jun-2013
    I can convert it to a date, but what I want to do is,  when a user selects a particular month-year  (let's say "jun-2013")
    I  populate one text box with the date the user selected , and (the challenge Im having is)  I want to populate a text box next to the first text box with the month-year  2 months ahead.    So if the user selects
    jun-2013   textbox A will show  jun-2013
    and textbox B will show  aug-2013..
    I have tried:
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM-YYYY"  )+ 2  )   -- But this gives an error
    This returns the month in number format   like "8"    for august...
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM"  )+ 2  )
    What is the proper syntax to give me the result    in this format =  "aug-2013"  ???
    Thanks in advance.

    You can convert a string that represents a date to a date object using the util.scand JavaScript method, and then format a date object to a string representation using the util.printd method. For more information, see:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1254.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1251.html
    In your case, the code would be something like:
    var sDate = "2013-01-10";
    // Convert string to date
    var oDate = util.scand("yyyy-mm-dd", sDate);
    // Convert date to new string
    var sDate2 = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", oDate);
    // Set a field value
    getField("date2").value = sDate2;
    The exact code you'd use depends on where you place the script and where you're getting the original date string, but this should get you started.

  • Converting a string into mySQL date format

    I have a bit of code that collects data values from a bean and I want it to then insert this into a mySQL database. My string is in the format "23/12/1983", how can i put this into a date field in my database? The bit of code I have got so far looks like this...
    String month = formHandler.month + "/";
    String day = formHandler.day + "/";
    String year = formHandler.year ;
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
    sb.append(day);
    sb.append(month);
    sb.append(year);
    String myDate = sb.toString();myDate is the value that I want to go into the database

    Limo2kz,
    The key to inserting a date into a database is to convert the date string into an SQL friendly format. i.e. yyyy-MM-dd.
    One way of doing this is as follows:
    SimpleDateFormat NICE_DATE_FORMAT =
    new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
    SimpleDateFormat SQL_DATE_FORMAT =
    new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    Date date = new Date();
    try {
    date = NICE_DATE_FORMAT.parse(dateString);
    } catch (ParseException pe) {
    pe.printStackTrace();
    String sqlDate = SQL_DATE_FORMAT.format(date);
    Now it is just a matter of creating the insert statement like normal, and making sure that the date string is in quotes.
    I hope that helps.

  • How to convert xml String to xml file?

    Hi,
    I got a method that do the following:
    public static String convertXmlToString(String xmlFileName) throws Exception
            File file = new File(xmlFileName);

  • XML String as input parm for WS?

    Hi All.
    This has probably been asked and answered a few times, but I can't seem to find a exact answer to my scenario:
    I have a java method that accepts a string as a input parm. However, the string will contain a fully formatted XML string eg:
    <?xml version=\"1.0\" standalone=\"yes\"?>
    <CAMPUS_UPD>
    <MSG_SEQ_NO>NATX_00000000000000200609141569398</MSG_SEQ_NO>
    <EVENT_NAME>CAMPUS_UPD.UPD</EVENT_NAME>
    <STATUSCODE>000</STATUSCODE>
    <CAMPUS_KODE>01</CAMPUS_KODE>
    <CAMPUS_NAME>STELLENBOSCH</CAMPUS_NAME>
    </CAMPUS_UPD>
    I'm basically going to put this XML string directly onto a InterConnect AQ Table for consumption by Interconnect.
    Now naturally I get a VERY strange set of errors when I actually try to call the WS with this XML String.
    <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Web Service</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><H1>Bad Request</H1><PRE>Error parsing envelope: (4, 30) PI with the name 'xml' can occur only in the beginning of the document.</PRE></BODY></HTML>
    If I remove the first line of the XML string, the error message changes to:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns0="http://sun.oic.ws/types/"><env:Body><env:Fault><faultcode>env:Client</faultcode><faultstring>caught exception while handling request: deserialization error: unexpected XML reader state. expected: END but found: START: KAMPUS_UPD</faultstring></env:Fault></env:Body></env:Envelope>
    Any Ideas/suggestions/wild speculations/URL's etc.

    Hi Eric/all.
    Just thought I'd give a follow up on my progress.
    Got the web services working and finally able to test via Jdev. Seems the problem was with the proxy server settings of jdeveloper itself. I had localhost specified as an ip NOT to use a proxy server for, but when the test code got generated it used the actual ip of my machine (where the application server is also running) to access the web service, and thats where it got stuck.
    I actually sent along the embedded xml string in a string parameter directly to the the web service, and it worked like a charm (as opposed to testing it via the application server administration web page where I had to translate the < and > characters. So quite chuffed with that.
    Today I'm researching a) What happens when you have a complex data type (i.e. a java class containing 3 fields like username/fullname/age) from a web service. When I test it via the application server web page, I get the actual fields with their names and values in an xml type format back, but when I test it via java, i get a reference to the object. Now I could cast the result back into the class definition that I used when creating the web service, but what if I don't know what that is (i.e. someone else somewhere wrote the WS, and I have no idea about implementation)?
    b) related to a) is how to convert the complex data type return value into an XML string before sending the reply (or maybe even a pure String containing the XML data). I.e. instead of sending a Person class, I send back an XML data type containing the relevant data with tags and all. I'm a bit worried about this, because it looks as if the data is alreaddy actually coming back in an XML format, its just that the java test program doesn't see it that way, and I'm loath add the extra overhead if it isn't needed.
    c) related to both a) and b). How the @$#@ does one actually use/call a web service in a simple .jsp page? Seemingly a simple question, but thus far, the answer eludes me. :)
    Any thoughts/comments/ideas/wild speculations/urls welcome.
    Kind Regards.

    Not able to prompt errors.
    Hi,
    Your error message are not displaying because u does not made Message-Resoucrce property file (Resource Bundle) when you make it .
    give it entry in
    struts-config.xml
    <message-resources parameter="ApplicationResources" />
    and
    define key and corresponding error message to key in this ApplicationResources i.e
    #Error Resources
    label.search.ssNum=Plz Enter correct ssNum

  • XML SAX dtd Validation Problem

    Hi,
              I’m having problems getting an xml document to validate within Weblogic 8.1. I am trying to parse a document that references both a dtd and xsd. Both the schema and dtd reference need to be substituted so they use local paths. I specify the schema the parser should use and have created an entityResolver to change the dtd reference.
              When this runs as a standalone app from eclipse the file parses and validates without a problem. When deployed to the app server the process seems to be unable read the contents of the dtd. Its not that it cannot find the file (no FileNotFoundException is thrown but this can be created if I delete the dtd) rather it seems to find no declared elements.
              Initial thought was that the code didn’t have access to read the dtd from its location on disk, to check I moved the dtd to within the deployed war and reference as a resource. The problem still persists.
              Code Snippet:
              boolean isValid = false;
              try {
              // Create and configure factory
              SAXParserFactory factory = SAXParserFactoryImpl.newInstance();
              factory.setValidating(true);
              factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
              // To be notified of validation errors in the XML document,
              // add a custom error handler to the document builder
              PIMSFeedFileValidationHandler handler
              = new PIMSFeedFileValidationHandler();
              // Create and Configure Parser
              SAXParser parser = factory.newSAXParser();
              parser.setProperty(JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE, W3C_XML_SCHEMA);
              parser.setProperty(NAMESPACE_PROPERTY_KEY, getSchemaFilePath());
              // Set reader with entityResolver for dtd
              XMLReader xmlReader = parser.getXMLReader();
              xmlReader.setEntityResolver(new SAXEntityResolver(this.dtdPath));
              // convert file to URL, as it is a remote file
              URL url = super.getFile().toURL();
              // Open an input stream and parse
              InputStream is = url.openStream();
              xmlReader.setErrorHandler(handler);
              xmlReader.parse(new InputSource(is));
              is.close();
              // get the result of parsing the document by checking the
              // errorhandler's isValid property
              isValid = handler.isValid();
              if (!isValid) {
              LOGGER.warn(handler.getMessage());
              LOGGER.debug("XML file is valid XML? " + isValid);
              } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) {
              LOGGER.error("Error parsing file", e);
              } catch (SAXException e) {
              LOGGER.error("Error parsing file", e);
              } catch (IOException e) {
              throw new FeedException(e);
              return isValid;

              Has anybody seen this behavior before with weblogic and if so how have you resolved the issue.
              Thanks in Advance
              Adam

    It looks like you clicked on "Post" before you got around to explaining your problem. I don't see any error messages or any description of what was supposed to happen and what happened instead.
    Now, I don't know anything about XML Schema, but just guessing at how that unique name feature might be designed, and just guessing that your unique name is actually in the <userId> element, I would suggest that this:
    <xsd:unique name="un_name">
      <xsd:selector xpath="USER"/>
      <xsd:field xpath="."/>
    </xsd:unique> is at fault because it doesn't mention the <userId> element anywhere.

  • Does anyone can help me to import XML string into a ORACLE database

    what my friend want me to do is, the string needs to be solved as a relational database.
    like
    A table has 'ID', 'data', 'result' rows
    and Data column has XML string like <?xml version...............>
    then wants to convert that data column's XML data into TABLE B with structure normally XML has.
    i'm so confused and have no idea at all.. also i couldn't find any solution related to my stuff..
    if someone knows how to solve the problem, just let us know
