XML message in report format
Hi all,
Is there a way i can present the XML messages in a report format?
I have the table SXMSPMAST to get the message ID and using class CL_XMS_PERSIST we can get the entire message.
But, i need to collate the different messages in different nodes from the XML message into a report format.
Please advice.
Thanks & Regards,
Akshay
Hi.
u can use the function module 'TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP' to get the XML data present in a file to an Internal Table in ABAP.

How to convert XML message in text format by using HTTPS-Receiver adapter
Is it possible to convert XML message in text format when we use HTTPS as the receiver adapter?
If yes, how?
Thanks!
MrudulaHi Mrudula,
As far as i know there are no content conversion methodology for HTTPS as the recevier adapter.
Also you can read through these links to confirm the same:

PL/SQL + XML with Excel report format?
Dear all,

How can I do that in R12?
Please advice.We currently do not support SQL aliasing of directories. This
is causing your errors.

Top node of XML message needs value assign to it - how to do it ?
Hi,
I have an issue where the top node of my XML message needs to have a value assigned.
i.e.
<REPORT>xxxxxxxx
<ID>xxxxx</ID>
<CUST>xxxxx</CUST>
</REPORT>
Is this possible using standard graphical mapping or will I need to resort to XSLT mapping to achieve this ?
Cheers
Colin.Hi,
At the beginning I thought that this is not well-formed XML message, did a test in XMLSpy and it looks like it a well-formed XML message.
> <REPORT>xxxxxxxx
> <ID>xxxxx</ID>
> <CUST>xxxxx</CUST>
> </REPORT>
I created XSD that describe this message, imported into IR, did some basic (one-to-one) message mapping (output and input structures are the same).
Output message:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<REPORT>
dfasdf
<ID>12</ID>
<CUST>dfff</CUST>
</REPORT>
After mapping I got:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<REPORT>
<ID>12</ID>
<CUST>dfff</CUST>
</REPORT>
Looks like you should rather forget the graphical mapping

Unable to Execute a Report to send PAN XML messages out of SNC
Hi All,
We are unable to Execute a Report /SCA/DM_TIMESERIES_OUT to send Product Activity Notifications in the form of XML messages out of SNC. We have manitained some Planned Reciepts data in SNC and would like to transfer it out to ECC.
Could anyone help in understanding if we have to maintain mandatory settings before executing this report.
Thanks & Regards,
SadiqHi Pravin,
As per the documentation(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_snc70/helpdata/EN/48/6bdb4767a431cbe10000000a42189d/frameset.htm), we have tried both the manual and automatic features to configure the output from SNC in the form of XML messages.
The manual method gave a message "Time series data for selection is empty" and the Automated method could trigger the XML messages on every incoming message from ECC but we are unable to see the Planned Receipts in that XML messages.
Was just wondering if we can see the Planned Receipt info by changing the settings of this report or by using any other simillar report as the PR info is very important for our development.
Thanks & Regards,

With Reports 10G can you customize you message and stop formatting?
Oracle, states to come here for answer. they said, OTN should be able to help.
If any one knows how this can be done can you please help me out?
thanks,
We were told this was fixed with 10G so we upgraded to 10G. We have a
report and we want it to execute if it's less than 10 records if not we want a
message to come up that the report needs to be scheduled.
Well we run the report and it displays exceeded record count but the format
still runs so no time saved on the web.
If the record count was exceeded we want to HALT the system and not go any
farther.
Now if we could modify the system message 1825 we would be o.k. But we don't
know if that is going to work. If we could change the message we would be
o.k. with that. that would mean changing the system codes though.
### How is the Report being called (Command line, URL or via Oracle Forms): ###
If false comes back in the beginning then we don't want any report formatting
to be done. Right now the format is done it seems but no data is displayed
because criteria isn't met.
So we dont wnat the formatting to be run when criteria isn't met. But for
some
reason it still runs and takes time.
See we have some reports on the web that can only be ran by date range right
now the clients can only run the reports for a 6 months range.. Well some
clients have a lot smaller record count. So we want to change the way the
reports are ran to a records count. If the count is large than said amount
then a message comes up that states the report has to be scheduled. If the
amount is under said amount then the report runs.
So at this time in the report we do a count then we move onto will the report
run or not if over the amount we want to abort the process but we don't want
the client to see the abort. We definately don't want the client to sit and
wait for the format to run when NO Data is to be returned.
### Error messages and error scenario: ###
So what we want is too see a message "Schedule the report count exceeded" and
NO formatting done. If under amount we want the report to run.
### Provide a detailed step-by-step description of your problem or question: ###
Or is there a way to customize the messages the client / users will see. And
no formatting time for no records returned.

New info : Can I get detailed steps about how to customize the system message
or hide the message when we abort the report?
21-SEP-04 15:38:39 GMT
Hi Darlene!!
As talked to you on phone, here are the steps for you to try.
The below has been run as a test case using emp table in scott schema of a database
1) create a summary coloumn say cs_1 in the data model.
2) point the function to count.
3) Point the source to what ever's count you want it to be pointed to(say empno of emp table of
scott schema)
4) create a user parameter say NO_ROWS
5) in its property palette make its data type number and initial value as 1
6) I had teh following query for my report:
select empno, ename from emp
where rownum <= :no_rows
This means that the report that will be generated will consist of a total no of NO_ROWS(that we
shall be specifying at run time). The before report trigger(mentioned in 7 below) shall assure
that whenever we specify NO_ROWS greater than 5 then the report will display a customized pop up
message.
7) create a before report trigger as:
function BeforeReport return boolean is
user_excp EXCEPTION;
begin
if :cs_1 >5 then
raise user_excp;
return (false);
else
return true;
end if;
EXCEPTION
WHEN user_excp then
SRW.MESSAGE(30, 'Data is more please schedule this report:');
raise SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT;
return (false);
end;
This way when u run a report, an argument is asked whether how many rows do you want to be
displayed as in the parameter NO_ROWS. then you specify the number. If that number is greater
than 5(in this case, due to if :cs_1 > 5 then....) then it will pop up a message saying "Data is
more please schedule this report:"
In case you do not want to specify NO_ROWS..then you need not put that and modify the report
query as "select empno, empname from emp;" i.e. without where clause.

New info : Information from the person that did this suggestion step by step.
I tried this step by step, but unfortunately, it doesn't work the way we want.
First with this suggestion, the user needs to choose how many records they
want
to get, or we default a number of records, in order to run the report. The most
important thing is, whenever you specify the statement return false or raise
SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT in the before report trigger, the system message will pop up.
I really hope that people from Oracle would let us know how to customize the
system message or hide it.
23-SEP-04 14:23:04 GMT
New info : I just thought that we have some sort of message, which I guess is
from the database, when we do claim search on client inquiry. I am just
wondering if we could try the same thing to the report.
The some sort of message looks like this on dev box:
Your search exceeded 5000 records and will surpass the capabilities of this
connection. Please narrow the search criteria and resubmit.
It's just a thought, not sure if it's going to work.
When could we have the DBA Make this change. The servlet.properties???

Hi Darlene,
We cannot modify the system messages nor do I think there is a method to hide the system message. The message that was coming is
due to the raise srw.program_abort command, which is the element through which
we can abort the program.

23-SEP-04 18:49:28 GMT
Hi Darlene,
I am sorry to say that but I don't think there is any any workaround to this because the system message is what is generated by the oracle reports i
nternally. Still if you wish you may refer to the otn discussion forum which is
maintained by teh product management group and post a new thread on it. the link
to the forum is Reports
Also since nothing can be done on our side I don't see any reason to keep this TAR open an
d if you wish we can soft close this.
Thanks

Ajit.

How to Write Log Message in a XML Data Source Report
Hi Friends,
Can anyone help me out what is the process of writing a log file in the XML Data Source Report. for eg: in Plsql we use FND_LOG.PUT_LINE to print the Log message in the Concurrent Request Output. in the similar manner, when we develop a report using XML, where we write Coding in XQuery of XML, what is the process need to follow to print the logs for the XQuery.
Any inputs/Suggestion on this Highly appreciable.
Thanks in advance.Create an RMI application (for example) that writes the log, and let all logging calls call that remote application.
Something like that is the only feasible way that doesn't require you to have a drive on the remote machine mapped to the local one (which causes its own problems as you could have multiple simultaneous write attempts...). -
Reading the XML message from Xi stored in XML format from a abap program.
Hi Gurus,
My requirement here is to read the data that will be coming from Xi from my custom abap program and updating 2 data base tables. The method is after the data mapping is done a class is generated in abap proxy in which a method is available. Inside the method i am writing the code for getting the Xi data stored as a payload message which can be seen in the transaction SXMB_MONI. My code is given below.
***begin code***
method ZII_PAYROLL_HEADER_IN~PAYROLL_HEADER_IN.
**** INSERT IMPLEMENTATION HERE **** ***
data: ln type i.
DATA: i_items TYPE TABLE OF ZPAYLOAD_WRAPPER_EMPLOYEE_REC3.
*DATA: wa_items type ZPAYLOAD_WRAPPER_EMPLOYEE_TAB5.
data: wa_items type ZPAYLOAD_WRAPPER_EMPLOYEE_REC3.
DATA:PERNR TYPE STRING.
*data: it_ZPAYLOAD_WRAPPER16 TYPE ZPAYLOAD_WRAPPER16.
I_ITEMS[] = INPUT-PAYLOAD_WRAPPER-BODY-XMLDOC-PAYROLL_PERIOD_OVERVIEW-EMPLOYEE_RECORD[].
*I_ITEMS = INPUT-payloadWrapper-Body-XMLDOC-PayrollPeriodOverview-EmployeeRecord.
describe table i_items[] lines ln.
endmethod.
**End code***
As per the logic the data stored in the XML message should be avaialble in INPUT-payloadWrapper-Body-XMLDOC-PayrollPeriodOverview-EmployeeRecord which i am assigning to a local internal table in the class.
But in my case there is no data coming in
INPUT-payloadWrapper-Body-XMLDOC-PayrollPeriodOverview-EmployeeRecord.
But i can see the data transffered from XI in the transaction SXMB_MONI->XML message->inbound message->payload.
Is there any way to read the data stored in the XML message in the transaction SXMB_MONI.
Also why the data is not coming in
INPUT-payloadWrapper-Body-XMLDOC-PayrollPeriodOverview-EmployeeRecord inside the class.
If there is any solution for this problem please post it.You can use function module SXMB_GET_MESSAGE_PAYLOAD.
Code snippet:
DATA: ls_mast TYPE sxmspmast,
ls_msgkey TYPE sxmsmkey,
lv_bin_xml TYPE xstring,
lv_str_xml TYPE string.
* select sxmspmast into ls_mast
ls_msgkey-msgid = ls_mast-msgguid.
ls_msgkey-pid = 'RECEIVER'.

Report format is not changing in IE
Hi All,
I am working with Report Designer. when i am executing the report, initially report is executing properly for the first time and givining define format. but if i am doing any change in report format in report designer the executed report do not capture the changes. the report generated on the web portal showing me the same output generated for the first time. if i am creating another copy of the same report by "SAVE AS" and then executing it, then again it is showing me the proper output for the first time only but it is not working if i am doing any changes in format.
Kindly guide for that.
Regards,
KaushikHi Kaushik
maybe you've already solved your problem, otherwise here's a program which most probably would solver your problem:
report zicm_cache_invalidate_all.
call function 'ICM_CACHE_INVALIDATE_ALL'
exporting
global = 1
exceptions
icm_op_failed = 1
icm_get_serv_failed = 2
icm_no_http_service = 3
others = 4.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
message id sy-msgid type 'E' number sy-msgno
with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
endif.
Setting global to 0 would invalidate only local... It's the same like invalidating the cache thru SMICM

Just in case if you are aware, Im trying the example in Lucas Jellema's book Chapter 7 and Im getting the error there in the first example project.
I have seen few very old threads on this problem in the forum but none of them had any answers so opening up a new one.
Thanks.Your transformation with for-each look is incorrect.
This is what you have right now:
<ns1:AppointmentRequestsLog>
<xsl:for-each select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest">
<ns1:AppointmentRequest>
<ns1:C1>
<xsl:value-of select="xp20:current-date()"/>
</ns1:C1>
<ns1:C2>
<xsl:value-of select='substring-before("doctor1234_20120926_helloworld","_")'/>
</ns1:C2>
<ns1:C3>
<xsl:value-of select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest/imp1:C2"/>
</ns1:C3>This is the correct way to write for-each within XSLT:
<ns1:AppointmentRequestsLog>
<xsl:for-each select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest">
<ns1:AppointmentRequest>
<ns1:C1>
<xsl:value-of select="xp20:current-date()"/>
</ns1:C1>
<ns1:C2>
<xsl:value-of select='substring-before("doctor1234_20120926_helloworld","_")'/>
</ns1:C2>
<ns1:C3>
<xsl:value-of select="imp1:C2"/>
</ns1:C3>Also, check the flow trace in the EM console for the instance which errored out and paste here the data which is being sent to the FileWrite Adapter. Also, you need to ensure that any elements which are defined as xs:int should not have empty string as values. For example in your write schema C3 has int. So you should map C3 in XSLT like following:
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="imp1:C2 and string-length(imp1:C2) > 0">
<ns1:C3>
<xsl:value-of select="imp1:C2"/>
</ns1:C3>
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<ns1:C3>0</ns1:C3>
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose> -
What is inbound XML message type and idoc type in Purchase Order response
Hi ,
We are on SRM 7 ECS , support pack SAPKIBKV08.
We have a process in which vendor will send a Purchase Order response which will be
converted to XML format by a middleware. This XML message will come to
SRM and post a POR. I want to do the EDI mapping for this XML message,
but there is no message type and idoc type in SRM for Purchase Order
response. How do I map my message type in SRM to the vendor sent fields
in middleware .
Please advise
Rgds
SumendraHi,
You can process with XML without IDoc.
Vendor-> (XML) -> PI -> (XML) -> SRM.
Please check PurchaseOrderConfirmation_In in namespace "http://sap.com/xi/SRM/Procurement/Global".

XI R2 To 3.1 Sp2 migration and report format issues
Hello,
is there a way to fix or troubleshoot report format issues after migrating to 3.1?
We have a heavy report that the format (the way the report looks) is very important. In crytal Reports 2008 sp2 the format is OK.
But from BOE CMC or from url reporting the report format have problems.
Thank you

Edited by: RUHVER BARENGI on May 18, 2010 9:48 AMHi Ruhver,
Crystal Report documents are heavily dependant on the printer driver for formatting. If you design the report using a specific default driver than it will be dependant on that printer driver for formatting. When you publish it to Enterprise, the same printer driver may not exist so the report will be re-formated to fit the default driver on the server, or if no driver exists, it will use an internal method to format the report.
Try this as a test.
1) Open your report in the CR 2008 designer.
2) Click on the File/Page Setup.
3) Select the "No Printer" option. This tells the report to use this internal method to format the report
4) Save this document as "Title - No Printer"
5) Export it to Enterprise
6) Test this report again. Formatting should be identical in BOE vs CR.
Keep in mind that when you change the driver in step 3, the report in the designer will re-format. You may need to tweak the report again in order for the formatting to be as desired.
Test this out and if you require further assistance with this, I would suggest opening a message. This is a common issue and a support engineer could likely help you with this pretty easily.
Hope this helps,
Jb
