XML output in File Receiver

Hi All,
I have an JMS to File interface that outputs an XML file.
The XML is being written to the file in one long line of text like below
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<field1>test</field1><field2>test</field2><field3>test</field3><field4>test</field4><field5>test</field5><field6>test</field6><field7>test</field7><field8>test</field8><field9>test</field9>
How can I get it to write out like this..
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<field1>test</field1>
<field2>test</field2>
<field3>test</field3>
<field4>test</field4>
<field5>test</field5>
<field6>test</field6>
<field7>test</field7>
<field8>test</field8>
<field9>test</field9>
I can't see any option in the File Communication Channel to do this???

Damien,
Depending on how your create your target document, you could use :
XSLT : <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/> it will automatically creates indentation according to XML structure, instead of flat structure,
JAVA: you can explicitly set the EOL pattern wherever you want (but this will require some coding). The XML framework you use may also offer native tool(s) to handle this.

  • JSP XML output to file system

    I hava a JSP application that uses the XDK to query the database and display XML rowset data to a JSP. This rowset data can be a few hundred rows or up to 50,000 rows,
    as we publish technical manuals, parts manuals and wiring manuals for aircraft.
    Getting the data to display within the JSP is not a problem. The problem is
    that the XML rowset data shares two purposes:
    1. Query by Example, returning
    XML formatted data for display within a browser.
    2. Use of the XML formatted
    data as an external entity file for our SGML authoring software to print the
    paper publication.
    The JSP I developed (I'm not sure I should take credit for it) uses the XMLData bean and it will open the browser File/SaveAs dialog in both Netscape (Unix) and IE5.5 (Windows). HOWEVER, when I create a second JSP to perform the same task on a different table the JSP errorpage shows with no error and no errors within the JDeveloper console. This has been kicking my butt for some time, and would very much appreciate a workable solution. I will share whatever I can share with the provider. Here is the JSP code.

  • Extract XML output to file using PL/SQL

    Hi.
    Since Oracle 8.1.4.7.1 I am using XML output in my applications.
    With that version of Oracle, my method was:
    1. Make the select;
    2. Create a file somewhere in my C drive;
    3. Create the XML file header;
    3. For each row, insert into the file, with the correct format;
    4. Close the file;
    ... and, voilá ... the XML file was made.
    Now, with the Oracle 10g, I know that I have much more ways to do it:
    1. Package DBMS_XMLQUERY
    2. Statements like
    "SELECT XMLELEMENT("USERS", XMLELEMENT("nome_pessoa", e.nome_pessoa ||' - '|| e.login), XMLELEMENT ( "password", e.password)) AS "result"
    FROM pessoa e"
    3. Or finally using XML SQL Utility.
    My question, is that if there is any way that i can make it all of this automatically. If there is any procedure or method that allow me to do all this stuff in just one step:
    1. Select in XML output;
    2. Creation of file;
    3. Insertion of Select output in file and Close of File;
    Thankx,

    I'm assuming that you want to write to the file system of the server that the database is running on...
    you'll have to use utl_file

  • ns0 Prefix in XML output file

    Dear Gurus,
    I am working on a scenario where vendor master is triggered from  SAP-XI--FTP.
    when i am posting the vendor master on FTP.. i am getting
    the xml output with prefix as below
    <ns0:VENDORID>0000100000</ns0:VENDORID>at each element in vendor master xml file.
    Instead of  <VENDORID>0000100000</VENDORID>
    could anyone tell how to fix this prefix at each level.
    Does i need to add any module in file receiver adapter..or any patch i need to apply ..
    we are on SP9 PI 7.0
    Kind Regards,

  • Output CSV File Naming Convention - Receiver File Adapter

    Dear SAP experts,
    I need help regarding my scenario.
    My scenario is this, Customer will send EDI message to XI. XI will then translate the message and convert it into XML.. After, a Receiver File Adapter will receive the XML then convert it into .csv file.
    I've already configured the Receiver File Adapter to convert the XML into .csv file.
    But, my problem now is how will I configure to have my output .csv file has a File Naming Convention.
    The output .csv file must be "CustomerName_YearMonthDate".
    From the EDI message, there is indicated Sender GLN in which, each customer has its own Sender GLN.
    E.g., Globus --> 200, Karstadt --> 300,  Metro --> 400.
    How will I configure so that I can have an output .csv file of,
    If Globus sends the EDI message, the output .csv file is Globus_20080304.csv.
    If Karstadt, Karstadt_20080304.csv.
    If Metro, Metro_20080304.csv.
    Kindly advise for a clear and complete solution.
    Thank you very much for your usual support.
    Fred

    Hi Nisar,
    My target message (XML) in the mapping is this,
    - <ns0:CSV>
        -  <SLI>
               <PERIO> </PERIO>
               <ILN> </ILN?
               <EAN> </EAN>
    perio, iln, and ean was rooted on SLI field. and the CSV is the rootnode of the target message.
    I have created a UDF on the message mapping to accomodate the output customer name, here is the codes:
    String fname="";
    if(GLN.equals("23456"))
    fname ="Globus" +dat;
    else if(GLN.equals("5678"))
    fname ="Karstadt"+dat;
    else if(GLN.equals("6789"))
    fname ="Metro"+dat;
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
        .getTransformationParameters()
        .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(
        "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File",
        "FileName");
        conf.put(key,fname );
    E.g.,
    Globus --> 23456 (Sender GLN)
    Karstadt --> 5678 (Sender GLN)
    Metro --> 6789 (Sender GLN)
    This UDF i've made in the Message Mapping was mapped in the root node CSV.
    Is this UDF correct?
    Then on the File Receiver Configurations, here are the configs,
    Transport Protocol: File System (NFS)
    Message Protocol: File Content Conversion
    Adapter Engine: Integration Server
    File Access Parameters
    Target Directory: /var/opt/gsss/sample/csv
    File Name Scheme: .csv
    Processing Parameters
    File Construction Mode: Create
    - Overwrite Existing File
    Write Mode: Directly
    File Type: Text
    Variable Substitution --> ???
    Adapter Specific Message Attributes
    - Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
    - Fail if Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing
    - File Name
    Run Operating System Command After Message Processing
    Command Line: chmod 664%F
    Content Conversion Parameters
    Recordset Structure: SLI
    SLI.addHeaderLine: 3
    SLI.headerLine: PERIO;ILN;EAN
    SLI.fieldSeparator: ;

    Kindly advise if my configs are correct.

  • When running an xml publisher report the xml output leads to 9 mb and the excel output file leads to 20 mb.But the output records is originally 4000 records. When copy to new excel it is showing 3.5 mb only. Does anyone knows the answer for this issue?

    When running an xml publisher report the xml output leads to 9 mb and the excel output file leads to 20 mb. The records contained in excel file is 4000 records. When taking the excel records and copy to new excel file the excel file size is 3.5 mb only.Why does the oracle software generates 20mb file?
    Does any one knows the answer please advice?

    Hello,
    This issue is because the Excel output from BI Publisher is MHTML (XML Publisher generates XHTML) not binary .xls.
    MHTML and XHTML are more verbose formats than binary .xls.
    It will be large because the current Excel output is just an HTML and not compressed like PDF. Please use the workaround (save it as .xls file).  This is a known limitation of RTF layout templates.
    BI Publisher Enterprise has a new feature True Excel Templates. The layouts generate binary Excel output.
    Excel Output File Size Generated By BI Publisher is Very Large (Doc ID 760437.1)

  • How to calculate number of data records in a XML output file

    Hi,
    After generating a XML output file from Oracle Reports, I want to calculate number of records in the XML file. Is it possible? Specifically, I want to calculate number of records for a group variable ( organization_id, which I use for bursting).
    Thanks for the help.

    Thanks BIPuser. It is useful for me.
    I can use this xsl function within the template. However, I'm also looking to print this in the concurrent request log file. So, outside of rtf template, id there any PL/SQL based XML functions I can use to count the number of records.
    Thanks.

  • Xml file in dynamic file name in file receiver adapter

    Hi,
    I'm doing the dynamic file name in file receiver adapter. I have done as per instructed in /people/jayakrishnan.nair/blog/2005/06/20/dynamic-file-name-using-xi-30-sp12-part--i
    All turned out okay. I have got the file name I require. Except that the file format is XML and I need to suppress the filename node occupied by the dynamic file name.
    The content conversion mentioned in /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12, does not seem to solve my problem. As it is only for file format other than the XML one, because we only do the content conversion if we want to "convert" the format of the content from XML to the other format.
    Does anybody have the solution to my problem? thanks in advance

    Thank you Raj for the direction
    The way to do it is :
    1. In ID, advanced tab, put a check on the adapter-specific message attributes - file name.
    2. Put a "*" on the file name scheme
    3. In IR, create a UDF to set up target file name :
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
    .getTransformationParameters()
    .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    // set up file name for receiver adapter
    String SourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    conf.put(key, TargetFileName);
    return " ";
    4. Map the above UDF to the header level of the target structure.

  • XML-IDOC to Plain File: File Receiver Cnt Conversion Problem Nested Stucts

    Hi all,
    I have an IDOC-XI-File scenario and I have a problem with the file receiver adapter and the content conversion parameters when the final data type has nested structures. Imagine that I have something similar to the following:

  • Need to reference file name within the XML Output

    Not sure if this is possible, as I'm new to the livecycle/XML world. But I need to be able to reference a file within the XML output from the PDF.
    The Scenario is that a pdf form of a business card will be issued to 50 franchisees for them to type in their names and mobiles, click submit and the XML file to be sent to myself, and be imported in to InDesign populating their data ready for printing. Up to here I have it working perfectly.
    However as each franchisee have a combination of up to 5 logos to place in the bottom corner to save having to have various templates with different combinations of logos and having to ensure the correct templates are used. I intend to reference each companies combination as an EPS and make the reference within the xml out and have it import directly in with the other data. I can type the code directly within the xml but I would like to have the form reference it directly in the xml output. Is this possible or am expecting to much of livecycle? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

    Hi;
    AFAIK if you prepare template in XML publisher than you can take output as pdf, by the way you can take xml output too
    Please check user guide:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/XMLP5.6.1UserGuide.pdf
