  • Patchset applied but results in err: (XML Pages not being generated)"

    My current Oracle release was 8.1.7.0 Enterprise on Windows 2000. I applied a patchset(2376472) of 8.1.7.4. Now when I try to open XML pages it gives err "java.lang.NullPointerException".
    I am sending the err desc gen in the xml log:

    Thanks JP. I figured last resort, Trash Prefs. I have never really had to do this for anything since OS9 but why not give it a shot?
    I am rendering yet another version, this time I got rid of all extraneous tracks (audio) and deleted all gaps, making the sequence only cuts AND once I sent it to Color I quit FCP. I was just reading in another thread about FCP getting in the way of the render process of Color. Anyways, worth a shot. After this render I will try a Export XML and Send To. If the Send To doesn't work I will try out your method of opening up that XML export file via the "Open With" method.
    Thanks for your helpful suggestion.

  • XML page & report template

    Hi There,
    I'm trying to make a default xml report that displays my sql query.
    I do not want to use the exportXML template, since no pagination is possible that way. (at least, I think it is)
    Now, i've made a XML page (only a xml header, nothing else) and a xml report (generic column template).
    Everything works as expected, but at the end of the xml, there is a javascript section :
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    //-->
    </script>
    When logged in as a developer it displays :
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    //-->
    </script><!-- Code generated for user with developer privileges. -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function popupInfo()
    ....snip....
    </script>
    <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="Developer Toolbar" align="center">
    ....snip....
    </table>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    if(GetCookie('ORA_WWV_QUICK_EDIT') != null){
    if(GetCookie('ORA_WWV_QUICK_EDIT') == 'SHOW')
    quickLinks('SHOW');
    </script>
    My question : is there a way to not get these things in my output ?
    Thanks in advance.

    nobody an idea ?

  • ANN: XML Class Generator for Java Available

    The Oracle XMCL Class Generator for Java is now available as an
    initial beta release on the Oracle Technology Network at
    http://technet.oracle.com. Select 'xml' from the Technology menu.
    The XML Class Generator will generate a set of Java source files
    based on an input DTD. The generated Java source files can then
    be used to construct, optionally validate, and print a XML
    document that is compliant to the DTD specified. This is an early
    beta release and has the following features:
    * Creates Java Classes from DTDs to enable the programmatic
    construction of XML documents.
    * Supports validation mode to assist debugging.
    * Works with the Oracle XML Parser in Java.
    * Creates documents conforming to the W3C XML 1.0
    Recommendation.
    * Supports creating documents in the following encodings:
    UTF-8
    UTF-16
    ISO-10646-UCS-2
    ISO-10646-UCS-4
    US-ASCII

  • XML page display Error in IE5

    When I generate XML under IE5 browser I get the following error:

    In Netscape 'save file' dialog appears which is a better solution. Most of my users under IE5. So, I'd like the contents to be displayed(as well as saved) under IE5. Any solutions you can think of?

    Hi,
    The error page is a JSF page with a message component. So I add error message by this code.
    fc.addMessage(null, new FacesMessage(msgError, ""));
    it should show the error. But it is not now.

    i'm pretty sure that error comes up when your browser (ie, specifically, i believe) can't render the xml data it's received. i'm also pretty sure, as the full message implies, it's because it doesn't know what style sheet to use when you go to that page. in short, it's a browser config issue. one way to bypass it (to at least prove that it's a browser issue) would be to create a link to your page, right click the link, and do a "Save Target As...". the resulting file will be your valid XML one. fwiw, i've had better luck controlling the manner in which my xml data is received when i use mozilla or netscape (but i'd imagine there's just some setting you'd toggle in IE to avoid your issue).
    hope this helps,
    raj

    Your PL/SQL code doesn't produce a valid XML document.
    In the XML grammar, "&" is a special character and must be escaped using the character entity "&#38;amp;".
    If you were using standard methods to build XML from Oracle (SQL/XML functions for instance), I'm sure you wouldn't have this error.
    Please show us the PL/SQL code you're using to produce this XML output and we'll be able to help you further.

  • How to create a custom xml-page?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a page that renders a xml format. For this, I created a page template in which I want to have an empty Header. Apex complains that the header is required and that the line <head>#HEAD#</head> should be included.
    The result is that the xml is not valid.
    Any ideas?

    Any ideas?Rather than an APEX page, use an On-Demand Process if your XML is generated using PL/SQL, or a report with the export: XML template if it's produced in SQL.

  • How can I render an active link (yrl) within a UIX/XML page

    How can I render an active link (url) within a UIX/XML page.
    How can I get <jbo:ShowValue> to work in UIX/XML, or is there another way?
    Bill G...

    It may seem strange, but the <contents> of <rawText> aren't actually
    raw - it's only the "text" attribute that's raw. (It seems strange because
    it is. Ah well.) This is different from UIX JSP.
    So, try something like the following:
    <bc4j:attrScope name="Notes">
    <contents>
    <rawText text="&lt;a href=&quot;"/>
    <rawText>
    <boundAttribute name="text">
    <bc4j:attrProperty name="value"/>
    </boundAttribute>
    </rawText text="&quot;&gt;"/>
    Some text in the link.
    <rawText text="&lt;/a&gt;"/>
    </contents>
    <bc4j:attrScope>
    Thankfully, this will be much simpler in 9.0.3, when the following
    will work:
    <link text="Whatever you want">
    <boundAttribute name="destination">
    <bc4j:attrValue name="Notes"/>
    </boundAttribute>
    </link>

  • "XML page cannot be displayed" error

    Using XML output on a table with more than a few rows falls over with a "XML page cannot be displayed" error. Sometimes only the error is displayed, sometimes some rows are displayed with this error at the end of the page (eg the DEMO_STATES table)
    Can anyone advise if there is some sort of limiter at work here?
    Thanks,
    Barry

    i'm pretty sure that error comes up when your browser (ie, specifically, i believe) can't render the xml data it's received. i'm also pretty sure, as the full message implies, it's because it doesn't know what style sheet to use when you go to that page. in short, it's a browser config issue. one way to bypass it (to at least prove that it's a browser issue) would be to create a link to your page, right click the link, and do a "Save Target As...". the resulting file will be your valid XML one. fwiw, i've had better luck controlling the manner in which my xml data is received when i use mozilla or netscape (but i'd imagine there's just some setting you'd toggle in IE to avoid your issue).
    hope this helps,

  • XML Page cannot be displayed An invlaid character

    While testing a report, I have noticed two issues and I believe this is the correct forum for the subject.
    A report is completing successfully with a completion status of Normal in the concurrent manager. The report has data. However upon inspection of the XML of the request (Diagnostics -- View XML) the following error message appears
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource 'http://sinudy07.devtst.go2uti.com:4110/OA_CGI/FN...
    <ITEM_DESCRIPTION>Office supplies
    Upon inspection of the data, it appears that the offending character is an ACSII 150.
    Can you provide a solution by which alphanumeric data is properly handled in XML? Is this an encoding issue?
    Why does XML Publisher exit successfully when it has an error? When this error is detected, I am assuming that the report is incomplete, but to the end user it looks complete.
    Many thanks for your suggestions and advice.
    Tom

    Is the error message displayed in Firefox or in IE, or in a customized window that doesn't identify the browser?
    ''If it displays in Firefox:''
    It's possible that the Troubleshooter doesn't work correctly unless IE is your default browser. You could test that possibility by having IE make itself the default and testing the Troubleshooter again.
    ''If it displays in IE or embedded in another Microsoft application:''
    In a web search I found these suggestions:
    (1) Reset your Internet Explorer settings, according to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_7/cannot-view-xml-using-xsl-style-sheet/ccfe80c6-c0db-4594-a7e3-475f9eac0e85
    (2) Try the System File Checker, according to http://ask-leo.com/why_do_i_get_the_xml_page_cannot_be_displayed_after_running_a_microsoft_troubleshooter.html
    Any luck?

  • XML Page cannot be displayed error on interactive reports

    Hi, I am having trouble with a user downloading an interactive report as a CSV output. When a user tries to download the interactive report (as it is displayed when the web page loads, no alterations), they are getting this error:
    The XML Page cannot be displayed.
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the refresh button, or try again later.
    A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'http.............'.
    This is only happening with a small group of users which doesn't include me, so it has been very hard to troubleshoot. I can download the report and open in Excel without any problems.
    I am using Apex version 3.2 and IE 8. The user did not have multiple windows or tabs open logged into ApEx at the same time.
    Has anyone ever had this problem before? I could not find a thread with the same issue.
    Thanks!

  • Xml page can't display in the first time

    Hi everyone:
    I want to read data from MySQL to web page using JDOM.I read the data from database successful and insert them into a xml file.But I can't open the xml page property.It will display after I refresh the page more than ten times!
    I find that it become easy if I use JDOM to do this work.I write the logic in a servlet:
    /////////////////////////the servlet code is:////////////////////////////////////////////
         public void displayXml(){
              SAXBuilder build=new SAXBuilder();
              try{
              Document doc=build.build(new FileInputStream("C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\ROOT\\xmlbook\\mysql.xml"));
              Element root=doc.getRootElement();
              List books=root.getChildren();
              out.println("debug... ...");
              while(rs.next()){
              Element id=root.getChild("id");
              id.setText(rs.getString("id"));
              Element name=root.getChild("name");
              name.setText(rs.getString("name"));
              Element title=root.getChild("title");
              title.setText(rs.getString("title"));
              Element content=root.getChild("content");
              content.setText(rs.getString("content"));
              Element time=root.getChild("time");
              time.setText(rs.getString("time"));
              XMLOutputter xmlout=new XMLOutputter("",true,"GBK");
              xmlout.output(doc,new FileOutputStream("C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\ROOT\\xmlbook\\mysqlnew.xml"));
         }catch(Exception e){
              out.println(e.toString());
              System.out.println(e.toString());

    I add a hyperlink to the xml in a web page.It will go to the xml page when user click the button.
    But there is a problem puzzle me.The xml page will not display when the user first to come this page.The browser report error:"Can't display this page.The xml file must have a top element".It can display after I refresh this xml page more than ten times.Why?But the xml page already have a top element!~.I means the client must refresh the xml page more than ten times for display it.someone know why? :(
