XML query results in HTML form parameter

Hi,
I would like insert records from a query result (raw XML) into HTML form tags, using the XSL stylesheet. Here is the code I am trying to use, but obviously it is not working.
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="te_hb_strdEntryId"
VALUE="<xsl:value-of select="ID"/>">
Are there any other options to put a result of a query in a hidden tag, using XSL?
Any help will be appriciated.

<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="te_hb_strdEntryId"
VALUE="<xsl:value-of select="ID"/>">
The correct syntax would be:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="xxx">
<xsl:attribute name="VALUE">
<xsl:value-of select="ID"/>
</xsl:attribute>
however, there is a shortcut syntax
when you are using XPath expressions
in literal attribute values:
XSLT attribute value templates. They are
XPath expressions inside curly braces.
So, you can achieve your desired result
with the shorter form:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="xxx" VALUE="{ID}">
as well.

  • How to pass query result to HTML table?

    Hi,
      i want to get the query result in HTMl table instead of Display Grid. how to do it? i searched in help, it suggests use icommand to do this. but i dont know how to pass the select query result to HTML table.. please help me.
    -senthil

    Hi Senthil,
    You can create an icommand query. You can then use the icommand retrieval methods to capture and manipulate the query data.
    (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Applet_Reference_Details/iCom
    mand_Reference.htm)
    Basically what we did was, use the getColumnCount() and getRowCount() methods, once you have these two numbers you can set two for loops and use String getValue(int ColID, int RowID) , within the for loops you can generate the inner html content and write the values either in a html table or html form (which is what we did). This seems to work well, I'm still playing around with it and may post this approach on sdn by end of this week.

  • Xcelsius with XMLA or XML Query Result Set

    Hi Experts,
    I want a direct connection from Xcelsius to my BW-Data. Because the new connection, coming with Fix Pack 2.1 is only avaiable for EHP 1 for NW 7.0 I tried to configure with XMLA and XML Query Result Set.
    This Document tells the necessary steps: How to integrate Xcelsius 2008 with SAP NetWeaver BI without Integration Kit.pdf.
    When I test my XML connection over http://<host>:<port>/TXmla/srvlet/TestXmla my Cubes will display.
    So I do a Webservice-Connection with WSDL-URL. At Input-Values there are some entries like CUBE_NAME, CATALOG_NAME...
    Output values arent avalible. How do I use these elements to show my Data in Xcelsius?
    My Problem with the XML Query Result Set Connection is, that when I Log On to VC the following error appears:
    You are not authorized to view the requested resource.
    So I get the authorisationobjects: S_DEVELOP and S_RS_COMP as describe in 'How To... Resolve Visual Composer Issues'.
    What values have I to enter by S_RS_COMP? And how can I enter my External Service in S_SERVICE. At the type WS the service isnt't avaiable.
    Regards,
    Jan

    To use XMLA web service you need a wrapper function build to convert the XMLA output to the Xcelsius format. There are some documents available in SDN on how to do this.
    You can use Live Office or Query as a Web service option to connect from Xcelsius to BW.
    S_RS_COMP is the query ID which you are trying to access, S_SERVICE you can either give * or try to set up authorization log and see the expected value.

    OK forget about my earlier post.
    do the following changes.
    declare the following variables:
    data: xtext type standard table of solix .
    DATA: atta_sub TYPE sood-objdes .
    after the call of FM SCMS_STRING_TO_FTEXT add the following code.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SO_SOLITAB_TO_SOLIXTAB'
      EXPORTING
        ip_solitab        = text
    IMPORTING
       EP_SOLIXTAB       = xtext .
    and after the following statement
    document = cl_document_bcs=>create_document(
                              i_type    = 'HTM'
                              i_text    = text
                              i_length  = conlengths
                              i_subject = subject ).
    add the following code
    CALL METHOD document->add_attachment
                EXPORTING
                  i_attachment_type    = 'htm'
                  i_attachment_subject = atta_sub
                  i_att_content_hex    = xtext.
    now you will have results both in the body as well as attachment. (this is for test you can remove one of them )

  • HOWTO: Writing Out XML Query Results of Any Size in Java with XML SQL Utility

    A customer mailed me asking for an example of how to use our XML SQL Utility to write out query results for tons of query result rows.
    With tons of data, the getXMLDOM() and getXMLString() methods are not really appropriate due to the size.
    The XML SQL Utility offers a getXMLSAX() method that streams SAX2 events to report the data being queried. This is the approach we can use to handle data of any size.
    It dawned on me today that by putting together the XML SQL Utilities getXMLSAX() routine, and the oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLSAXPrintDriver SAX2 ContentHandler, we can effectively stream out data of any length to an appropriate writer.
    Here's a code example to get the point across:
    package test;
    import java.io.BufferedOutputStream;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.Driver;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import javax.xml.transform.OutputKeys;
    import oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver;
    import oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException;
    import oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLOutput;
    import oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLSAXPrintDriver;
    import oracle.xml.sql.query.OracleXMLQuery;
    public class Example  {
      private static final String QUERY = "select * from emp";
      public static void main(String[] args) throws Throwable  {
          Connection conn = getConnection();
          OracleXMLQuery q = new OracleXMLQuery(getConnection(),QUERY);
          // Any printwriter will do. Here's we're output to standard out.
          PrintWriter output = new PrintWriter(new BufferedOutputStream(System.out));
          // This is a SAX2 Content Handler used by the Oracle XSLT Engine
          // to serialize a stream of sax2 events as an XML document
          // We'll use it to serialize the sax2 events from the XML SQL Utility
          // out as an XML document.
          XSLSAXPrintDriver ch = new XSLSAXPrintDriver(output, outputOptions());
          // This asks XML SQL Utility to fire sax events for the data
          // being fetched instead of creating DOM nodes or returning text.
          // By using the XSLSAXPrintDriver content handler, these events
          // get handled by writing them directly to the output stream
          q.getXMLSAX(ch);
          ch.flush();
          q.close();
          conn.close();
      private static XSLOutput outputOptions() throws XSLException {
        XSLOutput x = new XSLOutput();
        Properties props = new Properties();
        props.put(OutputKeys.METHOD,"xml");
        props.put(OutputKeys.INDENT,"yes");  // Set to "no" for non-indented

    Hi Uber,
    This is a known issue that error occurs when running report "Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs" due to non-printable characters for XML. Based on internal research, the hotfix for this issue will be
    included in the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Service Pack 1.
    As a workaround, you can remove the nonprintable character populated into the report parameter by referring to the following KB article:

  • Query results to HTML table

    I'm looking for a more efficient way to convert a query result into an HTML table so that I can paste it into an email. The procedure in sqldeveloper (version 3.1.07) is just too clunky and involves too many keystrokes and mouse clicks. And you can't save the HTML to the clipboard. (I'm talking about the "Export..." action here.)
    Am I missing something? Are there any alternatives?
    Thanks!

    ... but sqlplus is so last millenium....
    Seriously? I'm from the last millennium too, nevertheless I don't consider myself out of date
    SQL*PLUS is still my first choice when I have to run a script. I'ts behaviour is reliably the same whereever my script is executed. I would never trust a script that needs another tool to be executed.
    Generating a HTML-mail is IMHO out of scope for a database tool. It's a feature I would expect in a BI tool that specializes on reporting.

  • Download BW Query results in HTML format

    On a daily basis, I need to get BW query results exported to an HTML extract file on the BW server.  The HTML file will then be transferred to a Windows server for use in a dashboard view by a third party developed portal.  The query has an input variable for period.
    What is the best/simplest method for scheduling an existing BW query to run on a daily basis to produce an HTML  extract / download file to the BW server file system?
    We are currently on BW 7.01 SP6.  We just completed a technical upgrade from BW3.5, but did not do a functional upgrade.
    I have read through many postings but have been unable to find a solution.  I have reviewed RSCRM_BAPI u2013 no html format.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mark Norton

    Hello Mark...
    Amer is right. You can create a broadcast setting to daily sends your
    query as MHTML format.
    You can send to your e-mail but there is a possibility to save on KM and CM repository.
    There is a little explanation on the link below:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5c6b686a-0901-0010-8aab-c4d0e5a093a7?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    To create a broadcast setting, open the query via Query Designer.
    Click "Query" -> "Publish" -> "BEx Broadcaster"
    While you are creating the broadcast, there is a "Output Format" option.
    There is MHTML.
    I hope you find this information useful.
    Thanks

  • Query Result based on the Parameter Form

    Good Morning folks. I really couldn't come up with a smart enough Subject Line but I will try and make it up in the body.
    I currently have a report that accepts Parameters on the Parameter Form. They are Employee ID# and Number of Copies. The Employee ID is stored in the Employee table but the number of copies is not.
    The output on the Report shows all the different addresses and Phone Numbers the Employee has. Lets say, Employee ID 0001 has two addresses -- Home and Office. In the Report output based on my Query, it is going to return me two records in the Repeating Group. I however, have another parameter along with the Employee ID which is the Number of Copies. In this case, if the Number of Copies to be printed is 1, then its not an issue. However, if the Number of Copies entered by the User is 4, I would expect in that case 4 x 2 = 8 pages of Report output (4 with the Home Address and 4 with the Office Address).
    I know there is way to do this using a Temporary table in AfterPForm and then using the results in the Query by joining my query to the Temporary table but I was really hoping to avoid this situation if it can be handled through the Query.
    Main Query:
    SELECT    e.emp_no,
              e.saln||e.first_name||' '||e.last_name emp_name,
              a.street,
              a.city||' '||a.province||' '||a.postal_code city,
              '('||a.tel_area||') '||a.tel_number telephone
    FROM      employee e, emp_address a
    WHERE     e.emp_no = a.emp_no
    AND       e.emp_no = :P_EMP_NO;Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    I think I have not explained my requirements clearly and I have missed some valuable information. I will go ahead and start again.
    We do have quite a few reports with similar scenarios, so avoiding Temporary tables would be very beneficial if this works using Queries.
    I have a Report that has a Parameter Form. This Parameter form has 6 fields in total.
    Three of them belong to Customer ID# and 3 belong to Number of Copies.
    User Parameters for Customers: P_CUST_ID1, P_CUST_ID2, P_CUST_ID3
    User Parameters for the Number of Copies: P_N1, P_N2, P_N3
    So, the field PF_CUST_ID1 would have a source with P_CUST_ID1 and the field PF_N3 would have a source P_N3
    Form Paramater:
      PF_CUST_ID1   ----------         PF_N1   ---
    PF_CUST_ID2   ----------         PF_N2   ---
    PF_CUST_ID3   ----------         PF_N3   ---So, at any given point, there could be a maximum of 3 Customer ID's passed to the main query. Here is an example of what the input parameters could look like.
    User chose to enter values for Customer ID's 1 and 2 and left it blank for Customer 3.
      Customer ID1   1001         Number of Copies   2
    Customer ID2   1002         Number of Copies   3
    Customer ID3   ----         Number of Copies   -The Query that retrieves data looks something like this. The query below is intended to fetch Customer Home and Office Addresses.
    Of course, it is possible that there might be No home or Office Address or both.
    SELECT    c.cust_no,
              c.saln||c.first_name||' '||c.last_name cust_name,
              a.address_type,
              a.street,
              a.city||' '||a.province||' '||a.postal_code city,
              '('||a.tel_area||') '||a.tel_number telephone
    FROM      customer c, customer_address a
    WHERE     c.cust_no = a.cust_no
    AND       c.cust_no IN (:P_CUST_ID1, :P_CUST_ID2, :P_CUST_ID3);Based on my query:
    Customer ID 1001 has 3 Addresses (2 Home and 1 Office) --> Total number of Records = 3
    Customer ID 1002 has 2 Addresses (1 Home and 1 Office) --> Total number of Records = 2
    The output should be something like this. I have put a Label Copy1, Copy2 and Copy3 to show
    how the data will appear for readability.
    Cust No Customer Name      Address Type    Address Line 1         Address Line 2        Telephone

  • Converting Query results into HTML email

    Hi,
    I am using oracle 11g. I' m using the following procedure to send out html emails from a static query in the procedure and it works fine. I wanted to make it dynamic and pass the sql query as a parameter to procedure and build the html tags based on the query. Any thoughts?

  • TSQL XML query Results tab: elements crammed together as single line

    Are the elements in a TSQL "FOR XML..." query rendered by default as a single line (wrapped-around)?(i have a screen shot but i am not allowed to post it here until my acct is 'verified').
    When i run
    SELECT
       c.CustomerID AS '@CustomerID',
       (SELECT
           oh.SalesOrderID, oh.Status
        FROM
           Sales.SalesOrderHeader oh
        WHERE
           c.CustomerID = oh.CustomerID
        FOR XML PATH('Order'), TYPE) AS Orders
    FROM
       Sales.Customer c
    WHERE
       EXISTS (SELECT * FROM Sales.SalesOrderHeader soh WHERE c.CustomerID = soh.CustomerID)
    FOR XML PATH ('Customer'), ROOT ('Customers')
    this is what i get:
    <Customers><Customer CustomerID="11000"><Orders><Order><SalesOrderID>43793</SalesOrderID><Status>5</Status></Order><Order><SalesOrderID>51522</SalesOrderID><Status>5</Status></Order><Order><SalesOrderID>57418</SalesOrderID><Status>5</Status></Order></Order
    tus>5</Status></Order></Orders></Customer><Customer CustomerID="11008"><Orders><Order><SalesOrderID>43826</SalesOrderID><Status>5</Status></Order><Order><SalesOrderID>51282</SalesOrderID><Status>5</Status></Order><Order><SalesOrderID>53765</SalesOrderID><S
    rderID>
    Why aren't the results with XML elements nicely ordered, one element per line?
        <Customer CustomerID="11000">
            <Orders>
                <Order>
                    <SalesOrderID>43793</SalesOrderID>.....

    Where are you viewing the result? In SQL Management studio the result will be shown as link which when you click will show XML elements ordered nicely
    I've shown some examples here
