I want to put referances to another schema (in a different file) in a schmea? how do i do this?

Include a schema with <xs:include/> or <xs:import/>
<xs:include schemaLocation="http://www.w3.org/2001/xml.xsd"/>

  • Forms pulling Multiple Records from an XML Schema and XML data files - Adobe LiveCycle Designer

    I built a form in Adobe LiveCycle with an xml schema and data file.  The problem is with how the form renders the xml data file.
    I have a statement element that consists of about 6 fields (statementID, statementName, statementAddress, statementCountry, statementZip, statementDate, etc) of data in the schema that allows for multiple iterations - so one xml data file can contain multiple statements. These fields allow for null values.
    But here's the problem:  When any of the statements - say statement 2 of 6 - has a null value in one of the fields, if the xml data file doesn't have a placeholder
    (example of placeholder:  <statementName type="String"/>   )in the xml for that field, my form pulls the field value from the NEXT statement.
    This corrupts all the rest of the statement records, as this field is shifted up for all the rest.
    I know that in the past I haven't needed a placeholder when a field was null. But I'm wondering if when the data allows for multiple records the xml data file needs to generate the placeholder.  And where is the problem? In the Schema? The xml data file? My form?  And the 64-thousand-dollar question:  How to fix it?

    If your <statement> element is the one that repeats, it should be bound to a subform with the binding string of something like $.statement[*]. Then in that subform should be your fields and they should have bindings of $.statementID, $.statementName, $.statementAddress, etc.

  • Can't i use xml schema and oledb data connection at the same time?

    Hello to all and thanks in advance.I use xml schema and oledb data connection at the same time and the problem is that when I try to export the xml, the outcome is not what i expect.Without the oledb connection everything is ok (just the schema) and the xml complies with the schema.
    Can't i have both schema and oledb and the exported xml be as i want it?

    You can use both at the same time, but not gor Internet access if that's what you're asking.
    Now there is a thing called Link Aggregation, which combines a number of interfaces for speed/redundancy, but it really only works locally, and then only with ALL special equipment in the route, and most likely OSX Server involved.
    Sorry.

  • XML Schemas and "Type"

    I'm having a brutal time working with this program, it doesn't even seem like it should be this hard. I won't get in to the situation yet, I keep tripping across other problems as I go. Here's the next one:
    According to Eclipse, I'm not allowed to put an element with a type if it also has a restriction, because the restriction seems to (as far as I can tell) automatially attach an "anonymous type" to the element. That is to say:
    <element name="foo" type="string">
        <simpleType>
            <restriction base="string">
                [restriction tags]
            </restriction>
        </simpleType>
    </element>doesn't work. It also doesn't work if I don't have a "base='x'" line, but that makes a bit more sense. On the other hand:
    <element name="foo">
        <simpleType>
            <restriction base="string">
                [restriction tags]
            </restriction>
        </simpleType>
    </element>
    does work, but causes a number of problems because "foo" no longer has a type to call its own. I'm sure I'm missing something here but I can't work out what.
    Here's the exact error from Eclipse's XML Schema Validator, which places an error on foo's declaration line:
    "Multiple Annotations found on this line:
    - src-element.3: Element 'foo' has both a 'type' attribute and a 'anonymous type' child. Only one of these is allowed for an element.
    - Element type "element" must either be followed by attribute types, '>' or '/>'."
    Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :)

    As the message below indicates you are defining a new simple type but in line with the element definition (enclosed by element tags). As it is in-line it is classed as an anonymous type i.e. has no name. You therefore cannot give an element a type and then specify its type in line.
    Athough essentially it is a string (hence requires base type) it is nontheless a new type i.e a string with restrictions. The other way to do this, which will allow you to reuse the type is is as follows
        <xsd:element name="foo" type="myRestrictedString"/>
        <xsd:element name="foo2" type="myRestrictedString"/>
        <xsd:simpleType name="myRestrictedString">
            <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
                <xsd:pattern value="[0-9]{3}"/>
            </xsd:restriction>
        </xsd:simpleType>
    >
    "Multiple Annotations found on this line:
    - src-element.3: Element 'foo' has both a 'type'
    attribute and a 'anonymous type' child. Only one of
    these is allowed for an element.
    - Element type "element" must either be followed by
    attribute types, '>' or '/>'."

  • XML Schema and .....

    Hi,
    I am working on SCORM project, in which i uses XML amd dom4j.
    I need to validate xml against XML Schema, I can do this if my XML refers to single XML Schema (.xsd) file, but my xml refers to multiple XMLSchema files. ???
    It the project i need to create xml elements as per XML Schema definitions.
    I also needs to get information about type, like type, possible value to allow user to edit element using UI.
    SO is there any to do this.

    The XML Schema is in XML. You can parse it and interperate it the way you want.

  • XML scheme and Web services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the Template designer and the web services tool in order to create a MS Word template for the quotation.
    We have created a new web service, using the Web Service Tool
    (transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB, type WS_DESIGN_TOOL). I can use this web service when creating a quotation word template and everything works fine.
    I need to enhance the web service with some custom fields and logic. I found the blog:
    Web-services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007
    /people/community.user/blog/2008/11/18/web-services-enhancement-for-ms-word-integration-in-crm-2007
    The blog describe how to enhance the web service, extend the output
    structure etc.
    We have done all the steps in the blog, and everything looks fine. When
    we test the web service, using the Web Service Navigator, all the new
    fields we added to the output structure are displayed. The WSDL
    document also looks fine, displayed from the Web Service
    Administration.
    The problem occur when try to create the word template using the
    Template Designer. The XML scheme is not displayed in the word
    document. This only happens if we use an enhanced web service.
    Anyone familiar with this issue?
    Kind regards,
    Johan Wigert

    Hi,
    You may have to upgrade your MS word 2003 to MS Word 2007.
    Before you do that please opening View > toolbars > Task Pane and check if you can get XML Schema from the web service.

  • Question about xml schemas and the use of unqualified nested elements

    Hello,
    I have the following schema:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
        xmlns="http://xml.netbeans.org/examples/targetNS"
        targetNamespace="http://xml.netbeans.org/examples/targetNS"
        elementFormDefault="unqualified">

        <xsd:element name="person">

                    <xsd:element ref="name"/>
                    <xsd:element ref="age"/>
                   <xsd:element name="height" type="xsd:int"/>
                </xsd:sequence>
            </xsd:complexType>
        </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>I am just wondering why would someone have a nested element that is unqualified? here the "height" element.
    Can anyone explain this to me please?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien.
    here is an instance xml document
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <person xmlns='http://xml.netbeans.org/examples/targetNS'
      xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance'
      xsi:schemaLocation='http://xml.netbeans.org/examples/targetNS file:/E:/dev/java/XML/WebApplicationXML/web/newXMLSchemaThree.xsd'>
    <name>toto</name>
    <age>40</age>
    <height>180</height>
    </person>

    Don't worry about it.
    There are two different styles of schemas. In one style, you define the elements, attributes, etc. at the top, and then use the "ref" form to refer to them. (I call this the "global" style.) The other style is to define elements inline where they are used. ("local" style)
    Within some bounds, they work the same and which you use is a choice of you and the tools that generate the schemas.
    A warning about the local style. It is possible to define an element in two different locations in the schema that are different. It will get past all schema validation, but it seems wrong to my sense of esthetics. With the global style, this will not happen.
    So, how did this happen? Probably one person did the schema when it only had a name and age. Then, someone else added the height element. They either used a different tool, or preferred the other style. I'm aware of no difference in the document you have described between the two styles.

  • Register xml schema and store data

    hi
    i registered a schema in my DB and want to store data related to that scema.
    is there any function which will allow me to create a relational table table from the XML document or we need to extract each and every value from the nodes using funcions like xmlsequence,extract,.....
    i read somewhere that we can do this using structured storage of xml using xml db
    but not sure if there is any function or just extracting the each value and storing ina apre created table...
    can someone help??
    Thank You

    Just curious but any reason you did not post the URLs for the two schemas since they are publicly available via the URL contained within each one? You could have posted those URLs and then dropped in a snippet of the XML in the forum instead of hosting on an external site.
    To post for everyone's knowledge, ifc2x3.xsd imports ex.xsd which contains common definitions for structures used in ifc2x3.xsd. The root node of the XML file is in ex.xsd; however; the schema defined in ex.xsd (which does not import/include ifc2x3.xsd) allows for the structures defined in ifc2x3.xsd to be used. Hence a stripped version of the XML file is
    <ex:iso_10303_28 xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ex="<removed URN>" xsi:schemaLocation="<removed URN>ex.xsd">
         <ex:iso_10303_28_header/>
         <uos id="uos_1" xmlns="<removed location>" xsi:schemaLocation="<removed location> IFC2X3.xsd">
              <IfcCartesianPoint id="ID1"/>
         </uos>
    </ex:iso_10303_28>The following is based off what I've read in this forum over time.
    Given your root node is defined in ex.xsd, this is what you should reference when creating your column in the table. I believe that since you have both schemas registered, Oracle should be able to find the ifc2x3.xsd when validating the XML.
    I've never seen this schema setup before but maybe if you review some of the posts by Marco Gralike or mdrake where they RegisterSchema you may come across a similar example.
    Sorry for not being more help but maybe someone else can build upon what I started.

  • Is JAXB the best solution to store XML schema in databse

    Hi, i have a doubt regarding which is better way to store XML schema to database.
    I have looked on JAXB, DOM, SAX.
    I should be able to modify the database and store back the changes in XML schema..
    i am really consfused about this.
    plz suggest me
    thanx

    Thank you for your reply
    As per as I know JAXB take XML schema as basis to
    create tables in database and store the XML data
    according to that . I want to store the XML Data in
    the database structured according to XML schema
    defined by me.I'm not sure how a schema would impact this. Schema is a data definition that constraints a given XML data document. The XML itself is stored as a string. Databases like Oracle now have XML column types and allow you to use XML querying languages and x-Path in normal SQL queries.
    There are 2 types of mapping from XML to datbase
    Table space and object relational
    A tablespace is conceptually similar to a namespace. Object relational mappers go from objects to relational databases and back. I do not see how either of these two concepts are mutually exclusive. And the latter makes no sense if you talking about an object database. There is no O/R mapping because there is no relational database, it's an object database.
    I want to do object-relational mapping from XML to
    o object oriented database . and the modifications
    done on the datbase want to store again in XML. As
    per as I know JAXB give us classes as per the XML
    schema and we can write DDL to store the data in
    databse
    JAXB is for marshalling and unmarshalling Java objects to and from XML. The XML itself can be stored in any LOB database column.
    Is it the right approach or do you have any better
    idea?I still do not really understand what you are trying to do. It seems like you have a bit too much technology soup to consume. What are the actual requirements?

  • How many W3C XML Schema grammars are currently supported in JAXB ?

    JAXB supports for a subset of W3C XML Schema and XML Namespaces.
    So is there a list of what kind of grammars of W3C XML Schema are currently supported, and what are not support? For example, is xsd:list or xsd:union support?

  • Updated xml schema not reflected in Import Manager and Syndicator

    Hi all,
    We have a perfectly running MDM scenario using custom XML schema for import and syndication. I have now updated the schema by adding a couple of fields to the schema and uploaded the new schema to MDM using Console - Admin - XML Schemas, and we have added the same fields in the repository. However, when I open Import Manager or Syndicator the xml schema is not updated, it is still showing the old version without the new fields. The fields added to the repository show up just fine.
    I have searched around the forum and it suggests I actually have to re-create manually all mappings with the new schema?! I cannot believe this is really necessary and would mean massive amounts of work.
    I have tried to export old maps and create new map with new schema. Then the new fields show up, but when I import the previously exported map the old schema returns and the new fields disappear.
    Any help with this seemingly very odd behavior is very much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kenneth

    Hi Kenneth, Aamir
    the statement
    > Uploading the XML schema in Console is mainly a placeholder, it not not synced with Import Manager or Syndicator schema at runtime.
    is not completely true. You have to differentiate the MDM version and the tools:
    MDM 7.1 Import Manager: uses the actual XSD of MDM Console
    MDM 7.1 Syndicator: stores the XSD as part of the map and disregards the one in MDM Console
    MDM 5.5 Import Manager: stores the XSD as part of the map and disregards the one in MDM Console
    MDM 5.5 Syndicator: stores the XSD as part of the map and disregards the one in MDM Console
    Best regards

  • How to identify and delete objects after failure of registering XML schema

    Hi,
    I have tried to register a XML schema with many global elements but failed.
    I have checked the view DBA_XML_SCHEMA and found that there is an entry for this failed XML schema and the disk spaces would not be freed after the failure of registration as well.
    I have tried DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.deleteSchema() with DELETE_CASCADE_FORCE but failed with ORA-31000: Resource is not XDB document.
    How can I identify and delete the objects for this failed XML schema and free up the disk space ?
    I would not prefer to use 'DROP USER ... CASCADE' since there are other objects owned by this user.
    Thanks in advance.

    you can get them from user_objects.
    but you have to identify them manuallly if your schema has other objects other then created by the xml schema creation process.
    Note these objects will be cases senistitive. so you should enclose them with double quotes during deletion.

  • Valid and well Formed XML Schema

    OK I have a project that takes in a xml doc and a xml schema and checks if doc if valid for given schema
    how do i check if a xml schema doc is well formed and valid on its own

    Thanks very much for you reply.
    Howcome in the tool XMLSpy when you create a schema you can check it its both well formed, well thats ok
    and valid? you dont specify the xml doc.
    I have code written that accepts a shema and instance doc and that works grand.
    Just a general question.
