File f = new File("\\\\serverlocation\\subdirectory\\filename.xml");

Xml server, requests push, event notifications
Hello,
I can only work with oracle via Flash ActionScript xmlSocket, thus
there is a pure xml communication so I need the following:
1) tcp/ip xml server (connection port for Flash ActionScript XmlSocket class)
2) server push - ability to send N requests at once with later responses fetching
3) ability to add event listener on every DB change and the option
to receive the notifiction event back to client as xml document.
4) persistant connection for multiple xml requests and responses during
one connection.
Does Oracle support all this, or at least 1), 3), 4) ?
Thanks, DmitryDmitry,
From what I read: I think you need a socket server. UNITY 2.0 (java based), Shovemedia (java based), Swocket (open source built in Python)
If you use Python:
The below link has information on python cx_oracle connection to the database in cx_Oracle.connect('userid/password@database')

Inventory in 6.5 SP1b - Unable to connect to master XML server
So there seems to be some confusion here as to whether or not it's
normal to see this error and whether or not the zfs-startup.xml file is
supposed to be blank.
I'm seeing this error on the inventory service screen.
On posting here, Marcus said it's normal as long as data can go into the
inventory.
But then I see other posts that state that zenws SHOULD be running (and
it won't run if the zfs-startup.xml is blank), since that file is called
by zenws.ncf which in turn is called by startinv.ncf
I found a post where the contents of the .xml is posted, so I put that
into my zero-byte file.
But zenws still isn't running.
The logger screen shows:
java: Class com.novell.application.zenworks.loader.ZENloader exited
with status -1
java: Class
com.novell.application.zenworks.services.webserver .ZenWebServer exited
with status 1
If the xml file is NOT supposed to be blank, how does it get that way
(too many people complaining about this 0-byte file so either the CD
file is bad, or the SP1b breaks it somehow?)

Thanks. I could've sworn I HAD the XML service up and running at one
time, but obviously something happened, because it won't load. (I
definitely remember seeing that zen webserver thingy)
I may end up opening an SR in which case I'll share my information with
you. -
Hi Folks:
One of my leaf Zen servers, when I try to start the inventory service, reports "trying to connect to Master XML server" over and over.
The service object is set to leaf and I have the roll-up policy identical to my other Zen leaf inventory servers. Suggestions?
Thanks,
TomNever mind - I got it. Two files were corrupt. I copied them from another leaf server. I used TID 10099856

ZfD 701 Trying to connect to Master XML Server
After loading the Inventory service, everything seems to be normal,but
then it tells
....connection refused
Trying to connect to Master XML Server...
I did not find much in the Knowledge base.
Does this mean, the Inventory service is looking for a inventory proxy?
If so, wow can I tell Zfd to stop looking for the proxy?

It sounds as if the webservice is not loading correctly.

Trying to connect to Master XML server
Hello everyone....
I have a single NW 6.5 SP7 Zen 7 Inventory server and I am getting this
error and some odd things happening when I try to look at the status of the
workstation scans. First of all, I am wondering if these problems are
relate.
Either way, I need to get this "Trying to connect to Master XML server..."
error fixed. Someone suggested in an earlier post that a complete uninstall
and reinstall may be the way to go. They talked about online documents that
gave detail instructions on that but I never found anything like that.
So, I'm kind of stuck. Can anyone help me out there....?
Thanks.

Trying to connect to maser xml server.....
running netware 6.5 sp5, zfd 6.5. Getting:
>Trying to connect to Master XML Server...
on the ZENworks Inventory Server screen on the server.
Questions include:
*What's a "Master XML Server"
*How do you make the message go away
If you want to refer me to TID 10099856. I did read that, and it sounds
like the most likely solution. However, I'm unsure where to find a new
ZWS.PROPERTIES or ZFS-STARTUP.XML file. Further, I can edit these files
and they do not appear to be corrupt.
Thanks for your assistance,
PaulPaul,

Experiences with Forte XML-Server
Hello,
i like to expose a Forte Service as XML-Server.
How are your experiences with this new technology?
Here are some questions:
How many Services do you run on one port?
How many Listeners do you use?
How do you manage the xml-server ?
Best practices ?
Thanks for your response...
Martinyou should put the code you typed in server.xml into context.xml
in the META-INF folder and this will fix your problem.

Hi everyone,
can someone tell me if for every report executed with Oracle Apps is there a folder in which its XML file is stored?
I managed to find the reports' output following this path: /oracle/as/PRE/inst/apps/HOST_NAME/logs/appl/conc/out.
Is there a similar folder also for the XML files?
Thanks in advance!!After a few hours i solved the issue(s):
First of all there are empty/incorrectly formatted xml files in oracle\apps\ben\selfservice\cwb\worksheet\server.
They are:
AllocationsOptionLvlVO.xml
EmpEligOptLvlVO.xml
EmpEligRootNodeVO.xml
HistoryBonusVO.xml
HistoryComboVO.xml
HistorySalaryVO.xml
HistoryStockVO.xml
WorksheetAllocationsVO.xml
WorksheetOptLvlVO.xml
WorksheetOverviewVO.xml
WorksheetPlLvlVO.xml
so remove them from the filesystem and also from the server.xml file.
Furthermore the CompSummaryVO is not mentioned in the server.xml file, so if you want to extend that one, add a reference to it in the
server.xml file.
The VO's reference EO's in directory oracle\apps\ben\selfservice\cwb\schema\server,
however there is no server.xml file in this directory.
So either request it from Oracle by logging an SR or create it yourself.
After i fixed those issues i could import oracle\apps\ben\selfservice\cwb\schema\server\server.xml and
oracle\apps\ben\selfservice\cwb\worksheet\server\server.xml succesfully. -
Trying to connect to the Master XML Server
After researching around, I am no closer to the solution then when I started many hours ago. The only thing I found is that it was pointing to this file (Location is at DATA:\Zenworks\ for our location) zfs-startup.xml. The problem is that this file is a zero-byte file so it is absolutely useless. Our Zenworks Imaging Server is designated to serve as a stand-alone server.
Where is this file at or can one create it. If not, how can one fix this error.
Thanks,
Kevinwheatonr3,

URGENT: Tomcat, Connection Pool - Issue with web.xml & server.xml
Folks,
I am trying to connect to a MS SQL database using Tomcat/JSP but having issues. The code that I am using is as follows:
Context ic = new InitialContext();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/test");
Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
I have added the following code to my Server.xml:
<Resource name="jdbc/test" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000"
username="DB_AW_DATA" password="tester" driverClassName="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://192.168.0.1\\Newcastle"/>
And the complete web.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<!DOCTYPE web-app (View Source for full doctype...)>
- <web-app>
- <resource-ref>
<description>Resource reference to java.sql.Connection factory defined in server.xml</description>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/test</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
<res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref>
</web-app>
The error message that I am getting is as follows:
java.sql.SQLException: Cannot load JDBC driver class 'null'
What confuses me is that I have placed the following files in Tomcat\common\lib...
mssqlserver.jar
msbase.jar
msutil.jar
I think this is purely an issue with how I configured server.xml and web.xml
In the Tomcat documentation it states to put the code in the server.xml - but nested inside the Context element. This is something that I have not done as I am clear what the Context should be..
Can someone assist...
<Context path="" docBase="ROOT" debug="0"> ???
what should be the path and the docBase.
I have deployed the following application:
http://localhost:8080/SCWAPP/index.jsp
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL SUPPORRTyou should put the code you typed in server.xml into context.xml
in the META-INF folder and this will fix your problem.
