XML to convert creative html to jsp?

I am trying to find a way to use XML, XSL, etc., to make the process of building web pages at my company easier between the creative team and developers:
1.) The creative team creates the images, text, and html (using Dreamweaver). Please note, the creative team barely knows html, much less xml, xsl, or taglibs.
2.) The creative team then sends me the html pages.
3.) I then need to "convert" the html into jsps. That is, I remove the mock/dummy dynamic content, and replace it with the scriptlets or taglibs that will produce the real dynamic content.
This takes alot of time. On top of that, if the creatives ever need to be changed, I need to send the newly converted jsps back to the creative team. They inevitably mess the jsps up, because they do not understand scriptlets or taglibs. Is there some standard way of dealing with this scenario, so that the creative team and I can work better together, and so that I dont constantly "convert" the html pages to jsps? I know one option is Enhydra's xmlc, but I will have a hard time getting the creative team to adopt that.
thank you,
David

y don't u eliminate your jsp from your HTML. you can inculde html files as a header and footer.
tell to write a comment tag in html <Html code> <table><tr><td> <!--jsp output--></td></tr></table> <Html code>. you can write a small jsp which can String.indexOf("<!--jsp output-->");. you can easily create header and footer files. for your jsp, u can also change your jsp code like this.

    hi,
    i have compiled an xml file and got html,pdf etc using jasperreports but that was from an java application and now i want to convert this application to an jsp page so i have copied these jar files "commons-beanutils-1.5.jar","commons-collections-2.1.jar","commons-digester-1.3.jar","itext-1.01.jar","jasperreports-0.5.2.jar" to the folder "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\lib" and have set classpath to these jar files.
    my application(java class invoked by a servlet) is in C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes.
    i m using this API "JasperCompileManager.compileReportToFile(fileName);"

    i have one folder "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\org\apache\commons\logging" containing some LogFactory calsses but i dont know where to put this folder so that tomcat can find them.
    please help me..
    i know i may not be clear to u but plz give me some way out i m totally stucked.

    hi,
    thanx for your reply.
    ya i have "commons-logging-1.0.2.jar" file but when i tried to put it with other jar files and set the class path and run the application thru tomcat then it automatically stops the tomact.and when i removed this perticular logging jar file then tomcat works normally but gives the error which i mentioned before.
    i have also tried the second option u suggested, by putting the LogFactory class files in "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes\org\apache\commons\logging" but that was not working.shud i set some classpath for them? or shud i have to import these packages........ but when i copied this folder "org" to C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes and in program wrote import org.* then copilation error occured "no such package found.
    what to do now.

    Sorry.
    actually this is my coding on the bottom.
    Pleease disregard my previous coding. I got the different one.
    My first approach is using <% %> around the whole doGet method such as:
    <%
    String[] ids = { "hall001", "hall002" };
    setItems(ids);
    setTitle("All-Time Best Computer Books");
    out.println("<HR>\n</BODY></HTML>");
    %>
    I am not sure how to break between code between
    return;
    and
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    Here is my coding:
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
    HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
         String[] ids = { "hall001", "hall002" };
         setItems(ids);
         setTitle("All-Time Best Computer Books");
    if (items == null) {
    response.sendError(response.SC_NOT_FOUND,
    "Missing Items.");
    return;
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    String docType =
    "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 " +
    "Transitional//EN\">\n";
    out.println(docType +
    "<HTML>\n" +
    "<HEAD><TITLE>" + title + "</TITLE></HEAD>\n" +
    "<BODY BGCOLOR=\"#FDF5E6\">\n" +
    "<H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" + title + "</H1>");
    CatalogItem item;
    for(int i=0; i<items.length; i++) {
    out.println("<HR>");
    item = items;
    if (item == null) {
    out.println("<FONT COLOR=\"RED\">" +

    "</FONT>");
    } else {
    out.println();
    String formURL =

  • How to process the HTMLs or JSP pages?

    Hi all. my program need to process the HTML or JSP pages. But they are different from the XML. When I use SAXParser or something like that to process the HTML, Exception will always occur. Especially for processing the element "<% .... %>". So can anyone teach me the way to processing the HTML or JSP pages?

    These are from a Page Layout document. If you are using Word Processing, the button is called Sections instead of Pages but has the same icon.

    b)Change the corresponding gif in arabic where ever needed

  • How can I access xml document from javascript whithin a JSP page

    how can I access xml document from javascript whithin a JSP page?
    I have a JSP that receives an XML document from a JavaBean, so I can access it within the entire JSP, but I need to access it from the javascript inside the JSP... and I have no idea how i can do this.
    Thanks in advance!

    The solution would only work on MS IE browsers, as other browsers do not support an XML DOM.
    It can be done, but you would be stuck with using the Microsoft broswer. If that is acceptable, I have some example code, and a book recommendation.

  • How to convert a HTML files into a text file using Java

    Hi guys...!
    I was wondering if there is a way to convert a HTML file into a text file using java programing language. Likewise I would also like to know if there is a way to convert any type of file (excel, power point, and word) into text using java.
    By the way, I really appreciated the help that you guys gave me on my previous topic on how to extract tests from a pdf file.
    Thank you....

    HTML files are already text files. What do you mean you want to convert them?
    I think if you search the web, you can find things for converting those MS Office files to text (or extracting text from them, as I assume you mean).

  • XML text rendered as HTML

    Hi there folks.
    I've used, for the first time, the htmlText method to render the text in my textfields as html text that is provided by a xml. So in the xml i introduce the html tags.
    Don't have experince with this so i'm asking you how can i do it properly?
    Every time i use a tag except <p> i get another extraline. For instance:
    "This is my text. <b>Starting</b> with a boldy little line."
    And i get this:
    "This is my text.
    Starting
    with a boldy little line."
    Why is this happening and how can i avoid that?
    Thank you.

    use the cdata node to load text without parsing.

    when a client sends a SOAP xml request to WC WebService Command,it sends back the SOAP XML response in the form of JSP to client.The Client is in Microsoft .Net language.
    My Question is:
    1)How the client is interpreting the SOAP XML response in JSP.
    2)Since the client being a .Net provider,to understand this response,he has to make any extra
    configuration ???
    Can somebody in the forum can help me in this regard.
    Thanks
    Mike

  • Input = XML...Output = HTML....doable?

    What I am looking for is a technology that can read an XML file and build a custom html file based on what is in the XML file. The HTML file will of course have to have the proper tags etc and have to be smart enough to build two columns. Or, it can just build a file with the info in <table> tags which I can later just copy and paste into an HTML file. Is this possible? If so, any examples out there?

    you can solve your problem with the help of java, but it indeed soun ds like task for XSL/XSLT.
    XSL/XSLT may be used from within java, or with the aid of any other tool available out there (i myself have used xsltproc on commandline -- it's a part of libxslt)
    here are some links for you to get a hang of XSLT
    http://www.nwalsh.com/docs/tutorials/xsl/xsl/frames.html
    http://incrementaldevelopment.com/xsltrick/
    http://wwbota.free.fr/XSLT_models/HTMLtable2XML.xslt
    http://www.zvon.org/xxl/XSLTutorial/Output/index.html
    basically you can transform XML documents to any form descrribed by XSLT stylesheet, and for doing that transform you need some program that takes both, your stylesheet and xml document and then produces a output, which may be XML/HTML or watever document you would like it to be...

  • Multiple XML transformed to one HTML

  • Converting a html template to php

    How do I convert my html template to a php template? Any help
    would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    You do not need to do anything.
    "foo.dwt" can be used to create HTML, or PHP child pages.
    If you really want to do it, though, you can rename foo.dwt
    to foo.dwt.php
    (using DW's Files panel) and let DW adjust the pages
    accordingly.
