XmlRpcException creating vm from iso as hvm

I have installed the vm server and the manager...I imported a debian.iso, wanted to try to create a hvm machine, the server is VT compatible and I verified in xm info and cpuinfo that it was recognized...I dropped the firewall on both the server and manager systems (just to rule it out)...I downloaded one of the oracle linux templates, and was able to import, create a vm, and run/access it...which makes me think all the parts are working...I am suspicious of the hvm stuff, but I am not sure where to find info to trouble shoot...I wish i could see the exception...if anyone can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated...on the log screen for the vm I see the following:

I had the same problem trying to install a Debian GNU/Linux Etch, but now it's ok.
Use "Oracle Linux Entreprise 5" (works with 4 as well, x86 or x86_64) instead of "others" as Operating System to create your VM. When the installation is over, you can switch back to "others", if you want.... or not. (for the moment I haven't read anything about profiles use...I have more doc to read)

The log shows, xen is trying to watch files or directories that don't exsist:

Am I using odd parameters in my config file?
The ISO file is downloaded straight from Oracle site. Which I also used to install OL6 directly.
Where else could I check?
I've created the directories manualy, but have no idea, what the files should contain.
I prefer not to use OVM Manager. To much dependancies.

Can't create VM from template

Hello,
I'm getting this error when creating VM from template:
failed: <Exception: Error updating the image.> StackTrace: File "/opt/ovs-agent-2.2/OVSSiteVM.py", line 471, in config_vm raise Exception("Error updating the image.")
The VM is actually created despite this message bot when I try to power it up I'm getting another error:

The template was copied from another VM pool (where it works fine, version 2.1.1) to a newly configured VM Server (2.1.5).
The new server is configured for HA (shared storage) and I was able to create VM from ISO without any problem there.
The template was created from existing VM (Oracle EL4 PV) running on the "old" server.
Any ideas where I should look into?

It's all sorted now.
What I've learnt: OVS/Xen hypervisor doesn't seem to handle 4kB iSCSI block sizes.
I had to change it to 512 bytes (configuration on the iSCSI storage - nothing on the Oracle VM side) and re-create all volumes.
Just in case you experience something similar...

You can't get there with GUID/GPT.
There are tips on making a USB flash device that is bootable.
You can set aside a small 6GB partition somewhere and put Windows 7 installer there and run it WHILE IN Windows.
Windows Vista can be upgraded in place to 7 RC.
You'll need NTFS (30-50GB).
Windows doesn't support FW for booting.
You can create a drive that has Master Boot Record.

Booting from iso from usb drive

I want to boot arch from iso from my thumb drive. Based on the wiki article on Grub, I've put this entry to my grub.cfg:

I know I could dd the iso on the usb stick and probably avoid this, but I like my setup with several isos in a directory and appropriate grub entries. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Well, with MultiCD I can create an image which can boot multiple isos and write it on the drive. The thing is, I want to be able to use the drive as a storage device also. So I'd like something that would allow me to have a FAT partition on the drive and boot from that.
But the core of my trouble is that the live arch doesn't seem to be able to handle the FAT partition.

Here's the scenario. I have a new Dell PE R630. 2012 Standard R2, fresh install. All drivers and updates are installed. When booting a newly created VM from an ISO of 2012 R2 Standard, attempting to install the OS on the VM,
I get the blue screen of "Your PC has run into a problem" screen. It just loops over and over again.
I've tried Generation 1 VM and Generation 2 VM. I've disabled Secure Boot in "Bios" on the Generation 2 VM. I've tried different ISO files. I've tried disabling all integration services. I've tried just about every single
settings change there is to try with the same result.
In the Bios of the hardware R630, I checked that Virtualization is enabled. I looked for any other settings that could be off, but don't see anything out of the ordinary.
I don't know what else to try. Thanks to anyone with input.

I would suggest you to :
1. check if there is any power saving mode was enabled on R630 BIOS .
2. check hyper-v host "Power Options" selected "High performance" .
3. please try to disable " NUMA spanning " in hyper-v settings .
Then install OS for VM again .
In addition , please check hyper-v host's event log to see if there's any error recorded :
"event viewer / applications and services logs / microsoft /windows / hyper-v* "

Unable to create cd from Image file

I downloaded the Solaris 8 for Intel, unzipped the files. I have been unsuccessful creating an image file for the file sol-8-1_01-fcs-bin-ia-v1. I have tried various CD writing applications.
I was able to create images from the other files.

You are not supposed to create an image file from the unzipped data. These unzipped files are image
files! You just have to rename them using the proper file extension so that your CD-R burning software
recognizes them as cd image files. (common extension are .ISO or .RAW; check with your CD recording
software)

Unable to create SC from internal catalog (MDM)

We have issue were user is unable to create SC from internal catalog. User can access the catalog, however when trying to checkout he gets BLANK screen. This issue is with all the items for that catalog.

What is your IE version ? If its IE 8.0 please check SAP note 1511147. This contains settings that are needed.
Please also check the following note:
1264879 - Transferred Catalog items get stuck at Inbound Handler
Please maintain the ISO code of page on the webservice details as UTF-8 and retest. Also try, if you are using BYPASS_INBOUND_HANDLR parameter on the call structure with value = X delete this line and retest.
Another issue is that if the user does not have access to the product category their items will not be added to the SC.

There must be a duplicate Email field created in any list/library. The cause can be identified by renaming the site template to sitename.cab > extact the cab file > open the manifest file search for email and see where it is associated. Refer

Cannot create iView from PAR file

I am trying to create an iView from PAR file. But when I select the option,
"Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR) file"
and click next, I get the following error.

Step 1: Portal Archive Selection
No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates.
I have portal_configurator and developer roles assignmed to myself. Which other role do I need? I cannot get admin role.
Note: Other users with admin roles can create iViews.

What is your portal version details ?
In EP 7.0 you do not have the option -- New From PAR.
So to create IView from Par, you should select the option New --> IView and then there will be an option to select par file.
Otherwise
1.Check if your par file is deployed on server.
2. Check the portalapp.xml, if you have configured your components properly.

How do I use "Trim Paths" after "Create Shapes from Vector Layer" on a strokes only layer?

I have imported an illustrator file that was created in Illustrator CC 18.0.0. The file contains the outline of a logo. It is the logo with the fill set to none and the stroke set to 1px.
I drag the logo_strokes.ai file onto the composition, right click, and click Create Shapes from Vector Layer.
A new layer is created and in the Contents "drop down", a Fill 1 layer is created.
When I select the Contents "drop down" and click Add / Trim Paths, a Trim Paths 1 layer is created.
When I animate Trim Paths 1, it appears to animate the Fill layer, not the stroke.
How do I get it to animate just the stroke, and not show a fill at all?

I am trying to create a document from sharepoint list and upload it to a document library using item added and item updated event receiver methods. I can create metadata from list update in document library but unable to open the document. The error message
I get is "we're sorry. we can't open "Filename" because we found a problem with its contents. no error detail available". Please see the below code.

PS: WBS is not flowing for a Material, while creating delivery from Project

Hi,
While creating delivery from Project thro CNS0, WBS is not flowing for a Material in delivery, in turn WBS is not flowing in Billing document for same material, in turn not allowing to Post the Billing document to Accounting.
Error while releasing Billing to the Accounting: Accounting Entry is not generated. Error Message:Assign Condition type
YMRG in COPA.
Pls let me know, what can be the reason ?

I'm trying to create webservice from function module from. I choose Utilities/More Utilities/Create Webservice/..From function Module. What data should I enter in section "Enter Package/Request" ?
When I check "Local object" checkbox I get a message "Test objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces"
Is there any doc about this procedure (web service creation) with description of all sections ?

Which SAP product of wich release of which SP are you using ?
The procedure is documented in help.sap.com and in blogs and SDN forum messages.
It means that the use of the SEARCH button should give plenty of answers...
