XPath and ERMS
Hi gurus,
We're creating our own Services for ERMS (CRM 6.0) and I was after a spot of advice.
Can anyone give me some guidance as to where to find all the XPATH entries available?
In the ERMS Repository there are attributes defined with XPATH entries against them, but I'm sure there must be other XPATH entries available, and if we wanted to define our own attributes I was wondering where I could look to find this XPATH information?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew G.
Hi !
WSDL, XSD, Xpath and BPEL are all open standard.
ABAP for instance, is not an open standard.

Keep RAR and ERM up to date with Z transactions
Hi all,
As you all know, Z transactions are added on the ongoing dayly basis to a SAP system.
My question here:
What is the best practice to keep RAR and ERM up to date in terms of this information?
Many thanks in advance. Kind regards,
ImanolRaghu,
What I meant is the best practice to make such Z transactions available in RAR and ERM database to be available to define new functions and / or define new roles.
Should periodic upload for action-permission file need to be executed in RAR?
AND
action, object job syncronized in ERM?
Hope this clarifies my question.
Thanks for all. Kind regards,
Imanol -
Can I use an 'XPATH' expression to find a node using the C parser?
eg find '/A/B/C'
The Oracle Java parser supports this.
Thanks for your help.
DougYes, we have Xpath and XSLT support in the parser.

Hi,
I am using Oracle parser to parse my XML file, as i found that it is faster then IBM and sun parser, But i think it does not support XPath, so how can i use XPath and oracle parser, I can also use Sun parser , but dont know if it has XPath support,
So please help me outI suppose it supports DOM or a saxHandler that can provides you a DOM
tree. For Xpath, may I suggest you my solution : http://www.japisoft.com/jxpath

Does the XMLP full or partially support the Xpath and XSLFO syntax?
Does the XMLP full support the Xpath and FO syntax? or partially? Thanks
Hi Robin
OK, so hopefully you are not leading me into a trap here :o)
There are two parts to this question:
1. XPATH - we support as much of the XPATH spec as the Oracle XDK supports ie we rely on the XDK for our transformation engine so as long as they support what you are trying to do then we do. There are a few gaps and we have plugged those in the XMLP layer. So the short answer is yes.
2. XSLFO - we allow you to use XSLFO in your template. The XMLP engine supports much of the standard but there are a few gaps. the next set of docs will layout exactly what we do support in the spec.

What is MDM in BI and ERM????
Hi Gurus,
I am new to Nterweaver BI can any one help hoe to make a start with BI and can any one answer What is MDM in BI and ERM????

MadhaviHi Madhavi,
I guess from BI perspective MDM is Multi Dimension Modelling and ERM is Entity Relationship Model. They are both used for Data modeling in BI.

Xpath and Get XML Document Data
Good Morning,
I have just recently gotten involved in a project that requires communicating with some web services (axis2). We have existing scripts that handle this already, but they were built when we weren't on axis2 so now the XML output from the web service call is slightly different and i am no longer able to use the same xpath statement in the Get XML Document Data step.
I am receiving either null values or a prefix namespace error. I am new to xpath and have been reading as best i can from http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/ to try and understand how to write my statements to pull out the data i want correctly.
I have read that sometimes the editor has problems if the XML contains namespace declarations, etc.
Below is an example XML output where I'd like to be able to read the value in the ax211:success. My xpath gets prefix namespace errors as it doesn't recognize ax211.
Xpath: /descendant::ns:validateCertificationResponse/child::ns:return/child::ax211:success
Perhaps my xpath statement is just incorrect and wouldn't retrieve what i expect it to....
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
KevinHi,
well, it appears that text() is automatically appended to the XPath query for some reason in UCCX, this is why you actually see the text node within the ax211:success element. This //*[local-name()="success"] select the whole node, not its first child (which is actually the first element, which also happens to be a text).
Anyway,
// - anywhere
* - any node
And within this "everything" you actually search with the condition within the angular brackets.

XMLIndex: finding indexed XPaths and the number of rows in the path table
Hi,
I am storing non-schema-based binary XMLs in an XMLType column in 11g (11.1.0.6.0) and would like to index the XMLs either partially or fully using XMLIndex. I'm expecting to have a large number (tens of millions) of XML documents and have some concerns about the size of the XMLIndex path table.
In short, I am worried that the path table might grow unmanageable large. In order to avoid this and to plan for table partitioning, I would like to create a report of all indexed XPaths in an XMLIndex and to find out how many times each path is actualized in the path table. I would do this for a representative XML sample.
I have been creating XMLIndexes with different exclude/include paths, gathering stats with DBMS_STATS (estimate_percent = 100) and selecting the number of rows in the path table through USER_TABLES.
If anyone knows a more straightforward way of doing this all advice is very much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Rasko LeinonenThanks Marco,
I managed to get out all indexed paths using the following SQL. It took a while to understand how the join the XDB.X$PT39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5 and XDB.X$QN39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5 tables together but got there in the end. This helps to clarify which XPaths are being currently indexed by the XMLIndex.
begin
for v_row in (select PATH from XDB.X$PT39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5)
loop
declare
v_i BINARY_INTEGER := 1;
v_id raw(8);
v_len BINARY_INTEGER := 2;
v_skip BINARY_INTEGER := 1;
begin
while v_i < utl_raw.length(v_row.path) and
v_i + v_len <= utl_raw.length(v_row.path)
loop
v_i := v_i + v_skip;
v_id := utl_raw.substr(v_row.path, v_i, v_len);
--dbms_output.put_line(v_id);
for v_row2 in (select LOCALNAME, flags from XDB.X$QN39CW6BJR8W4VVE0G0LLGA0OCR5
where ID = v_id )
loop
if rawtohex(v_row2.flags) = '01'
then
dbms_output.put('@');
end if;
dbms_output.put(v_row2.localname);
if v_i + v_len < utl_raw.length(v_row.path)
then
dbms_output.put('/');
end if;
end loop;
v_i := v_i + v_len;
end loop;
dbms_output.put_line('');
end;
end loop;
end;
Example output:

Hi,
I'm trying to get a node value of a xml document using org.apache.xpath.XPathAPI class, but I'm doing something wrong, since I'm getting 'null' instead of the node value.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<pdf xmlns="http://hipoteca.sf/pdf/solicitud">
<Client>
<numClient>18150</numClient>
</Client>
</pdf>
I'm doing like this:
Node node = null;
String xpath = "/pdf/Client/numClient/text()";
node = XPathAPI.selectSingleNode(doc.getDocumentElement(),xpath);
If I eliminate the namespace of the xml document, there is no problem, everthing works fine. But if the root node ('pdf') has a namespace, it doesn't work. I've seen that exists another XPathAPI method called selectSingleNode with an extra parameter, the namespace node, but I don't know how to obtain this namespace node.
public static Node selectSingleNode(Node contextNode, String str, Node namespaceNode) throws TransformerException
Please, help me !!! Thanks in advanceXPath 1.0 and the default namespace do not work together. For examples of why not and what you might do instead see (for example) these:

I've inserted the xml into the CFS_XML_TABLE which has a column for the date
and an XMLType column which holds the xml.
I am trying to extract exchange rate data using a query like this:
select extractValue(xml_data, '/RDF/item/title/text()') as "NodeVal"
from cfs_xml_table;
I'm just trying to get something out of it right now, but eventually I need to be able to get <cb:value>, <cb:baseCurrency> and <cb:targetCurrency>. Right now I can't even get the data in the title node...
For the project I'm working on I have to use the Bank of Canada Feed.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do here?
Thanks a lot,
DevonI've never used namespaces with XPath before, but I happened to stumble across a solution that works by supplying a value for EXTRACTVALUE's "namespace_string" parameter (the third one).
