Xpath Expression/Functions in XSLT Mapper

Manual says I can use the orcl functions as well as Xpath Expressions, but when I try to execute it does not work? am I missing something her?
Trying to get a variable data into the target schema , the var is not in the source data schema?
Any suggestions?

Can you explain a bit more what you want to do. It's very vague right now. Probably will be able to help you out.
Thanks

  • Using the XPATH expression function in Transformation activity

    Hi,
    I have to map the variable value(other than the source variable) to one of the node in the target variable in the transformation activity. For that I am using the XPATH expression function bpws:getVariableData ('variableName') and map it to corrsponding target node. But this mapping is not at all happening. The same prolem occurs while using function ora:getInstanceID() in transformation function. Then I could find a metalink note id: 387381.1,saying it as the bug in 10.1.2.2 BPEL PM, which they are covering in the next release. But our BPEL PM version is 10.1.3.3. But still the same type of problem occurs.
    Please let me know, is there are any solution for using the ora:getInstanceID() , bpws:getVariableData in Transformation activity.

    Hi,
    I dont understand why would you need to use the "bpws:getVariableData" function.
    When you are mapping a source-node to a target-node, it usually assigns the value in the source-node to the target-node, which is as good as using the "bpws:getVariableData" function.
    So, technically speaking you need to use this function explicitly to achieve that ...
    Also, if you want the instance-id, you can use the "ora:getInstanceId()" directly in the BPEL code than using it in the transformation.

    Madhu.

  • In XSLT, make XPath expression to retrieve attribute nodes

    I have a problem fetching attribute nodes in an Xpath expression.
    SOAP Request:
    <Create ID=5/>
    <Name>Per</Name>
    I want to fetch the value of ID and put it into another variable with an XPath expression in a XSLT transformation.
    If you look at http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_syntax.asp
    You should be able to do this with "//Create[@ID]" according to the examples, but this is not working at all in JDev.
    Any thoughts?
    /Per

    Thanks, that worked!
    Just thought about it. How do you do the other way around.
    <Create>
    <ID>7</ID>
    to
    <Create ID=7>

  • Generate xpath expression from xslt

    How can I generate an xpath expression for a selected node within xslt? I've found ways to get the node name, it's number and so on, but there doesn't seem to be a simple way to just print out the nodes xpath ( besides writing some type of recursive template )
    The application is to set an HTML <input/> fields name attribute to the XPATH. That way, from within my app I can catch the update values and apply using XPATH.

    Typically you will be using the XSLT functions like position(), for the actual position of the node and of course other XSLT axis specifiers like ancestor, sibling, descendant, etc. For more info go to http://www.mulberrytech.com and http://www.zvon.org for tutorials.
    Hope this helps

  • Custom XPath function & customize XPath expression builder

    Hi,
    I have made several custom XPath functions and apparently it is not possible to customize the UI and add these functions to the XPath expression builder.
    Could someone confirm this ?
    Thanks

    Nobody knows the answer?
    I just have the same question.

  • XSLT Mapper: a lot of unused import namespaces

    Hi.
    The only way I have found to substitute an "any" element with a particular one from other schema in the XSLT mapper is to import the schemas in the main one. The problem is when you import a lot of schemas, the result mapper defines all these namespaces at the root level of the xslt (just in case), whether they are used or not. That produces an unnecessary overhead in the xslt file size.
    Is there any way to clean up the result mapper, so only the needed namespaces will be defined?
    It could seem it is not very important, but now I have 150 namespaces defined, when only 7 are used.
    Thanks.

    Hi.
    I have been watching for some solutions, like for example the wtp for eclipse, which allows you to select the namespaces and clean them manually (without further checks than a valid XML), but all of the solutions falls in the "select" expressions with xpaths referring namespaces (and some of them, also with QNames elements).
    Any help? Oracle masters?

  • Xpath expression for a custom SearchBoxEx WebPart to a DataFormWebPart

    Hi all,
    I have a custom search webpart that has asp controls that are used in my dataview (DataFormWebPart) for retreiving data. This data view has the xslt variable "Rows" with the following xpath expression:
    <xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[
    (contains(translate(@Title,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ','abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), translate($FilterName,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ','abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz')) or $FilterName = '')]"/>
    *<ParameterBinding Name="FilterName" Location="Control(txtName)" DefaultValue=""/>
    This webpart searchs for people by their name. For example:
    search for:
    jose
    results:
    jose luis escudero
    jorge jose torres
    Ok, it works fine there, but what if I want to search for: jose escudero. There won't be any results because the search xpath expressions has a contains function for what you write in the textbox control.
    So I think it should be splited by " " and searchs for the each word in the @Title column of the data source.
    I don't master xpath expressions so I don't know how to code a correct xpath expression for that, any idea? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Hi  betozg31,
    According to your description, the point is that your Xpath code put the “jose escudero” search keyword as a unitary string. So  your search  would not return any results. I think
    if you want to search result using two or more keywords ,you need to deal with the keywords firstly. Separating from the “jose escudero” search keyword , getting “jose” search keyword and “escudero” search keyword. Here is a simple code you
    can have a look:
    <xsl:if test="$FilterName =' ' ">
    <xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[ $FilterName=' ']"/>
    </xsl:if>
    <xsl:variable name="FormatFN" select="lower-case(normalize-space($FilterName))"/>
    <xsl:variable name="FormatT" select="lower-case(@Title)" />
    <xsl:if test="matches($FormatFN,' ')">
    <xsl:variable name="FilterNameBefore" select="substring-before($FormatFN,' ')"/>
    <xsl:variable name="FilterNameAfter" select="substring-after($FormatFN,' ')"/>
    <xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[ contains(contains($FormatT, $FilterNameBefore),$FilterNameAfter )]"/>
    </xsl:if>
    <xsl:if test="not(matches($FormatFN,' '))">
    <xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[ contains($FormatT,$FormatFN)]"/>
    </xsl:if>
    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
    Ya i checked the data for same table,but i didn't get any XREF related information in xref_data table.
    Did you mean that, data should already present under AIAFPINST_XREF.Probably xref is meant for storing dynamic value.
    Please check the above error and reply me soon.

  • Does SOA BPEL 11.1.7.0 support XPath 2.0 in XSLT mapping?

    Dear Oracle support,
    I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0 (local development) and 11.1.1.6.0 (in production, but will upgrade to 7). I came to the requirements need to do very complicated mapping using XSLT in BPEL. I would like to use some features of XPath 2.0.
    Does SOA 11.1.1.6.0 or 11.1.1.7.0 have supported XPath 2.0? If not yet, is there any plan to support in the future?
    Thank you in advance for your response,
    Alena Li

    Hi Alena Li,
    Firstly, this is not Oracle support, this is Oracle forums...
    https://wikis.oracle.com/display/Forums/Forums+FAQ
    SOA supports *some* features of XPath 2.0 in XSLT, the infrastructure also supports XSLT 2.0, but JDEV mapper does not...
    Check docs here...

  • XPath Expression

    Hey Guys...
    Currently I am working on one Xpath expression issue..as described below;
    Its a File to Idoc scenario  ...where in I need to check the two Item level nodes and based on that need to produce the target Idoc. and my souce structure look like this....
    DT_Input
           Header ---    1 to 1
                 H1
                 H2
                 H3
           Item  -
         0 - Unbounded
              Item_1
              Item_2
              Item_3
    Query :  If the Item_1 and Item_3 are not equal AND  Item_1 not equal to blank ...then I need to produce the target Idoc otherwise not!
    Can you please help me out!!!
    Cheers.,
    S

    You could create an advance user defined function.
    fed your function with the 3 values (Item_1 and Item3).
    Inside the function, check the values of Item_1 and Item_3 nodes.
    What is the result of your query? I mean, if your query is meet, Which value do you want to populate in your IDOC?
    You should use this sentence: result.addValue(a[0]). It is supposed a is the value returned by the funcion.
    If you don`t want create the node in the IDOC, use this other one: result.addValue(ResultListCC).

  • ABAP Mapping XPATH Expression

    Hello to all,
    I'm trying to create a ABAP    based mapping without xslt, as xslt-mapping is running in a timeout.
    Is there a way to execute XPATH expressions on a document?
    The method "get_elements_by_name" isn't helpfull, as I need to specify a certain path within the xml-document.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Christian

    I dont think it will be possible untill you include XSLT mapping in to ABAP mapping as you would need a compiler for XPATH expressions.

    Hello, I need a little help please.  In my receiver determination, I have a condition and I need to do a "not like" check.   Basically, if the first three positions of the source field does not start with a specific code, then I need to execute the condition.   The condition editor does not support a "not like" operand, so I went to the XPATH expression editor.  I tried to used the XPATH substring function to get the first three characters and then do a "not equal" operand, but it doesn't appear to work.  There are not any runtime errors, but the condition is not executing.  Any ideas on this?  Does the XPATH expression support the substring function?

    Hi Jesse,
    Can you please explain what is the meaning of http:// in the statement
    /p1:PRODUCT/MATNRhttp://not(substring(.,string-length(.) - 2) = '123')
    Please explein, I am having same issue. It is not working here.In My case it is
    /p1:ORDERS01/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19/IDTNR[http://not(starts-with(.,\"D\"))]
    also tried with
    /p1:ORDERS01/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19/IDTNR[http://not(starts-with(.,'D'))]
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to evaluate dynamic XPath expression in BPEL?

    I have an xml file where I keep many settings for my BPEL process. At runtime, I read the file and I want to select values from it based on values in the process payload.
    For example, imagine that the process payload is an order:
    <order>
    <header>
    <id/>
    <customer_id/>
    <team_id/>
    </header>
    <items>
    <item>
    <id/>
    <sku/>
    <price/>
    <quantity/>
    </item>
    </items>
    </order>
    Now, in my xml settings file, I have a section where I keep a mapping of "team_id" and "assignment_group", so that for each team id, I can select the appropriate group to whom a task should be assigned. The relevant section of the settings file will look something like this:
    <assignment_groups>
    <group team_id='0923230'>invoice_approvers</group>
    <group team_id='3094303'>order_approvers</group>
    <group team_id='3434355'>shipping_approvers</group>
    </assignment_groups>
    So, imagine I get an order input to my process where the team_id is '3094303'. Now I have to lookup the correct assignment group in my settings file.
    So, I construct the dynamic XPath expression
    /settings/assignment_groups/group[@team_id=3094303]
    I know that this would evaluate to "order_approvers". However, even though I have the XPath expression in a BPEL variable, and I have my settings file as a BPEL variable also, I don't know how to execute the XPath expression against the settings BPEL variable to retrieve the correct value.
    Any ideas appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    James:
    Thank you for the response. Incidentally, this is the very same document and section that I have been looking at for guidance. Specifically, the section titled "Dynamically indexing by Constructing an XPath at Run Time" on page 12-13.
    I tried to do something similar to the example at the top of page 13:
    <variable name="iterator" type="xsd:integer"/>
    <assign>
    <copy>
    <from expression="concat('/invoice/line-item[',bpws:getVariableData('iterator'), ']/line-total')"/>
    <to variable="xpath"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression="bpws:getVariableData('input', 'payload',bpws:getVariableData('xpath')) + ..."/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    I am able to achieve the first copy operation to get my dynamic XPath into a BPEL variable and that's fairly straightforward. But I am unable to get the second copy to work. Specifically, I am not sure what to put in the second argument of the bpws:getVariableData function. I have tried many different combinations, but when I try to compile my program, I get the following compilation error:
    Error:
    [Error ORABPEL-10902]: compilation failed
    [Description]: in "C:\code\TrainingWS\SampleGetSettings\bpel\SampleGetSettings.bpel", XML parsing failed because "org.collaxa.thirdparty.jaxen.expr.DefaultFunctionCallExpr".
    [Potential fix]: n/a.
    Thanks,
    Jack
