XPath expression failed to execute.

Hi Everybody ,
I am working  AIA PIP 3.1 for JDE E1.I am facing some errors so that i can't proceed.
See the log errors as below:

Hi,
Ya i checked the data for same table,but i didn't get any XREF related information in xref_data table.
Did you mean that, data should already present under AIAFPINST_XREF.Probably xref is meant for storing dynamic value.
Please check the above error and reply me soon.

    Note : I am using SOA suite Developer version
    I am using a BPEL Process to read the XML files then I am manipulating the XML.
    I am facing a strange issue with BPEL now.
    SOme of the XMLs are not processed and I am getting the following error. The same Xmls are processed when I give them as the input next time.
    It says that Xpath expression failed, but how the next time it is processing the same XMLs with the same expression.

    thanks for the reply mihai,
    there is nothing to do with expresssion.
    as the same expression is giving the result when i give the same input for the BPEL process.
    I hope it is something to do with oracle lite database( i.e memory issue) as I had alredy processed more than 500 XMls using the same Process.

  • XPath Expression won't evaluate

    Hi,
    I am using the ora:doc() function to read an xml and XPath to get extract particular values from it. The issue is that the XPath expression doesnt evaluate correctly on Oracle BPEL process manager where as the same expression is being evaluated correctly in XMLSPY with XPath 1.0.
    The XML that I am trying to read is of the format

    I have the same problem posted in the constants discussion
    Hi
    I am trying out the xml file solution. I have places an XML-file in the xmllib location. The file has the following content :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8">
    <bpel-domain>
    <preferences>
    <property name="defaultRentepercentage"> 0.3 </property>
    </preferences>
    </bpel-domain>
    In the Assign step in BPEL I do the following
    orcl:lookup-xml('http://localhost:9700/orabpel/xmllib/trials-properties.xml', '/bpel-domain/preferences/property[@name="defaultRentepercentage"]')
    The error I get when running this is the following
    XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "orcl:lookup-xml("http://localhost:9700/orabpel/xmllib/trials-properties.xml", "/bpel-domain/preferences/property[@name="defaultRentepercentage"]")", the reason is ExtFuncFunction.
    Please verify the xpath query.
    I have tried the xpath expression in XMLSpy, and there it seems to work
    Am i missing something ?

  • Failed to initialize the XPath Expression Builder

    Any idea what causes this and/or how to fix it?
    When I am in the XPath Expression Builder, I pick "Conversion Functions" and start with "string". Inside the "string()" parentheses, I do "bpws:getVariableData()", and select my output variable from an invoke.
    Then it SHOULD allow me to continue picking parts of that variable, down to the node I want, but instead I see in my JDeveloper log that a "Failed to initialize the XPath Expression Builder" error has been thrown.
    Thoughts appreciated...
    Smalls

    Can any of you Oracle guys help with this today?

  • Concat Operation failing.[Error ORABPEL-10039]: invalid xpath expression

    Hi ,
    I am trying to concat two values which are as mentioned below

    I also tried converting both the variables of concat to string and then giving to concat operation. please let me know what could be the possible way to do this

    Hi,
    try storing the values of the below into a separate variables var1,var2 and then use concat(bpws:getVariableData('var1'),bpws:getVariableData(var2))....also try using the predicate[] without
    bpws:getVariableData for the below variables...for this in the assign activity create copy operation window....u see the xpath text box and u can mention the predicate values there...some
    thing like */ns7:parameters/ns7:item[ns7:name='ContractNumber']/ns7:value* , *ns1:AccumilatePLAContracts/ns1:AccumilatePLAType[$PLACount]/ns1:ContractInfoType
    [$ContractInfoTypeCount]/ns1:ContractNumber* instead of the below values
    bpws:getVariableData('paramsVar','/ns7:parameters/ns7:item[ns7:name='ContractNumber']/ns7:value')
    bpws:getVariableData('AccumilateEmail','/ns1:AccumilatePLAContracts/ns1:AccumilatePLAType[$PLACount]/ns1:ContractInfoType[$ContractInfoTypeCount]/ns1:ContractNumber')

  • How to evaluate dynamic XPath expression in BPEL?

    I have an xml file where I keep many settings for my BPEL process. At runtime, I read the file and I want to select values from it based on values in the process payload.
    For example, imagine that the process payload is an order:
    <order>
    <header>
    <id/>
    <customer_id/>
    <team_id/>
    </header>
    <items>
    <item>
    <id/>
    <sku/>
    <price/>
    <quantity/>
    </item>
    </items>
    </order>
    Now, in my xml settings file, I have a section where I keep a mapping of "team_id" and "assignment_group", so that for each team id, I can select the appropriate group to whom a task should be assigned. The relevant section of the settings file will look something like this:
    <assignment_groups>
    <group team_id='0923230'>invoice_approvers</group>
    <group team_id='3094303'>order_approvers</group>
    <group team_id='3434355'>shipping_approvers</group>
    </assignment_groups>
    So, imagine I get an order input to my process where the team_id is '3094303'. Now I have to lookup the correct assignment group in my settings file.
    So, I construct the dynamic XPath expression
    /settings/assignment_groups/group[@team_id=3094303]
    I know that this would evaluate to "order_approvers". However, even though I have the XPath expression in a BPEL variable, and I have my settings file as a BPEL variable also, I don't know how to execute the XPath expression against the settings BPEL variable to retrieve the correct value.
    Any ideas appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    James:
    Thank you for the response. Incidentally, this is the very same document and section that I have been looking at for guidance. Specifically, the section titled "Dynamically indexing by Constructing an XPath at Run Time" on page 12-13.
    I tried to do something similar to the example at the top of page 13:
    <variable name="iterator" type="xsd:integer"/>
    <assign>
    <copy>
    <from expression="concat('/invoice/line-item[',bpws:getVariableData('iterator'), ']/line-total')"/>
    <to variable="xpath"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression="bpws:getVariableData('input', 'payload',bpws:getVariableData('xpath')) + ..."/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    I am able to achieve the first copy operation to get my dynamic XPath into a BPEL variable and that's fairly straightforward. But I am unable to get the second copy to work. Specifically, I am not sure what to put in the second argument of the bpws:getVariableData function. I have tried many different combinations, but when I try to compile my program, I get the following compilation error:
    Error:
    [Error ORABPEL-10902]: compilation failed
    [Description]: in "C:\code\TrainingWS\SampleGetSettings\bpel\SampleGetSettings.bpel", XML parsing failed because "org.collaxa.thirdparty.jaxen.expr.DefaultFunctionCallExpr".
    [Potential fix]: n/a.
    Thanks,
    Jack

  • ORA-31013: Invalid XPATH expression

    Hi,
    I am getting this error when i am trying to execute a sp which will do xml parsing.
    What all i did is i have Oracle database with 9.2.0.1.0 version. The i hav ugraded the database to 9.2.0.6.0 using the Oracle patch. After upgrading the Oracle db to 9.2.0.6.0 i got the below error:
    ORA-00600: internal error code,
    Then i ran the catpatch.sql to get rid off this error. After running the catpatch.sql the above error gone but i got another error
    ORA-31013: Invalid XPATH expression.
    What does this mean. The sp is working fine before upgrading the Oracle db to 9.2.0.6.0. Is the patch upgrade corrupted any of the XML libraries or the 9.2.0.6.0 doesn't support the xml parsing or do i need to apply any patch for this.
    Please suggest me ASAP since this error has been raised at cusotmer and i am in very much need of this.
    The statement which i am using for parsing the xml file is
    x.xml_data.extract('/x:recording/@x:ref').getStringVal() from xml_process;
    where xml_process is a table of xml_type.
    Thanks
    Rao

  • Can not construct xml from relative xpath expression: //FormVar

    In version 7.0, it was possible to access Form Variables with the (valid) XPath Expression "//FormVariable".
    In 7.2.2, using this XPath Expression leads to a stalled action, with message: "can not construct xml from relative xpath expression: //FormVar". (see full stack trace below)
    What's wrong? How can I fix this?
    Use of relative expression is very very useful during the development phase!

    Sorry, i just read my own message in the discussion forum and
    discovered all spaces for formating the XML tags where gone.
    It should look like this:
    [-----xml_type---]
    <doc>
    __<role>
    ____actor
    ____<first>
    ______john
    ____</first>
    ____<last>
    ______bond
    ____</last>
    __</role>
    __<role>
    ____actor
    ____<first>
    ______james
    ______</first>
    ____<last>
    ______smith
    ____</last>
    __</role>
    </doc>
    semantic:
    There are two actors: "john bond" and "james smith"
    Querying for "john bond" succeedes which is correct
    Querying for "james smith" succeedes which is correct
    Querying for "james bond" fails which is correct
    Querying for "john smith" succeedes which is an ERROR!
    contains(xdata, 'actor INPATH(//role[./first = "john" and ./last
    = "smith"])' (= 100 ---> ERROR!)
    bye,

  • Help Page Error: Using XPath expressions as list indexes and map keys

    The help page says for maps to use the XPath expression
    /process_data/mapvar[@id='/process_data/@stringvar']
    But in reality for things to work you have to omit the quotations.

    thanks a lot for your help..
    there are total 162 records in the v$open_cursor for that user.
    among that the open cursor is only 4 and open-recursive cursor is only 6 for that user.
    in my session i am executing only the renaming of the constraints and nothing more.
    When i have queried the v$open_cursor for cursor_type='OPEN' for all the users, then i got that it has exceeded the value of open_cursors parameter.
    So how can i resolve that....

  • ABAP Mapping XPATH Expression

    Hello to all,
    I'm trying to create a ABAP    based mapping without xslt, as xslt-mapping is running in a timeout.
    Is there a way to execute XPATH expressions on a document?
    The method "get_elements_by_name" isn't helpfull, as I need to specify a certain path within the xml-document.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Christian

    I dont think it will be possible untill you include XSLT mapping in to ABAP mapping as you would need a compiler for XPATH expressions.

  • Using substring in the XPATH expression for Receiver Determination

    Hello, I need a little help please.  In my receiver determination, I have a condition and I need to do a "not like" check.   Basically, if the first three positions of the source field does not start with a specific code, then I need to execute the condition.   The condition editor does not support a "not like" operand, so I went to the XPATH expression editor.  I tried to used the XPATH substring function to get the first three characters and then do a "not equal" operand, but it doesn't appear to work.  There are not any runtime errors, but the condition is not executing.  Any ideas on this?  Does the XPATH expression support the substring function?

    Hi Jesse,
    Can you please explain what is the meaning of http:// in the statement
    /p1:PRODUCT/MATNRhttp://not(substring(.,string-length(.) - 2) = '123')
    Please explein, I am having same issue. It is not working here.In My case it is
    /p1:ORDERS01/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19/IDTNR[http://not(starts-with(.,\"D\"))]
    also tried with
    /p1:ORDERS01/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19/IDTNR[http://not(starts-with(.,'D'))]
    Thanks in advance!

  • Xpath Expression/Functions in XSLT Mapper

    Manual says I can use the orcl functions as well as Xpath Expressions, but when I try to execute it does not work? am I missing something her?
    Trying to get a variable data into the target schema , the var is not in the source data schema?
    Any suggestions?

    Can you explain a bit more what you want to do. It's very vague right now. Probably will be able to help you out.
    Thanks

  • Namespace-aware XPath expressions?

    In xMII 11.5.2 b64, I need to extract a node from a SOAP message:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <soapenv:Header/>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <ns0:importRequest xmlns:ns0="http://www.acme.com/1.0/schemas">
            <FOO>
    The following xMII Assign action Link returns me the entire <FOO> nodeset:
    Transaction.SOAPRequest{/soapenv:Envelope/soapenv:Body/ns0:importRequest/*}
    However, I cannot be guaranteed that the namespace prefixes will always be "soapenv" and "ns0".  For example, the following is perfectly valid:
    <SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <SOAP:Header/>
       <SOAP:Body>
          <ZZZ:importRequest xmlns:ZZZ="http://www.acme.com/1.0/schemas">
            <FOO>
    When they are changed the XPath fails.  I have tried the following:
    Transaction.SOAPRequest{/Envelope/Body/importRequest/*}
    Transaction.SOAPRequest{//importRequest/*}
    but they clearly don't work because the XPath evaluator in xMII is namespace aware (as it should be).
    How can I declare namespaces in my XPath expression?  Or are there any other alternate ideas?
    Thanks,
    -tim

    I installed SR3 and re-ran my tests and it still fails.  Here is my XML snippet:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:sch="http://www.acme.com/4.3/schemas">
       <SOAP:Header/>
       <SOAP:Body>
          <sch:importIDOCRequest>
             <MATMAS03>
    Here's the output from various expressions in the Link editor:
    example 1 - getting the name of the root node:
    "root node name=" & Transaction.SOAPRequest{name(/*)}
    output 1 is predictable:
    [INFO ]: root node name=SOAP:Envelope
    example 2 - using 'senv' instead of 'SOAP' for the soap-envelope namespace prefix:
    "importRequest child node name=" & Transaction.SOAPRequest{name(/senv:Envelope/senv:Body/sch:importIDOCRequest/*)}
    output 2:
    [INFO ]: importRequest child node name=
    example 3 - no namespace prefixes specified:
    "importRequest child node name=" & Transaction.SOAPRequest{name(/Envelope/Body/importIDOCRequest/*)}
    output 3:
    [INFO ]: importRequest child node name=
    example 4 - using the same node namespaces prefixes as the input XML:
    "importRequest child node name=" & Transaction.SOAPRequest{name(/SOAP:Envelope/SOAP:Body/sch:importIDOCRequest/*)}
    output 4:
    [INFO ]: importRequest child node name=MATMAS03
    Any other ideas?

  • Xpath expression substring or contains

    Hi ,
    I have this inbound source message
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <rfc:Z_RFC xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
    - <TO_DATA>
    - <item>
      <LINE>000012E3 ABCD 3I 20070911164941</LINE>
      </item>
      </TO_DATA>
      </rfc:Z_RFC>
    and two inbound interfaces
    condition is , if "ABCD" exists in the LINE field(type string) then the corresponding Interface mapping should execute.
    I know the exact location of "ABCD occurence so I can use either contains or substring functions.
    I tried /P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item[substring(LINE,X,Y)="ABCD"] EX no right operand
    /P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item[substring(LINE,X,Y)]= "ABCD"  with right operand
    substring((/P1:Z_RFC/TO_DATA/item/LINE),X,Y) = "ABCD"
    similarly I tried around with <b>"contains"</b> function too.
    but not able to apply exactly, I tried with different options looking at different blogs in SDN.
    so how should be the Xpath expression ?
    thank you.
    Babu

    yes,
    I have two different interface mappings in interface determination.
    I have same sender RFC interface(outbound) and two different target interfaces  and so why I have two different interface mapping,MMs.
    sender and reciever systems are same in both cases.
    .................condition1--interface mapping1--
    sender -
    |--                                                                |--
    Receiver
    .................condition2--interface mapping2--
    >>>two dfferent interfaces one when the condition satisfies and other when the condition doens'tmacth...
    I know why you are asking this,if we have one interface map and two target interfaces then we need to go for enhanced interface determination.
    and need not to be just "substring" or "contains" function ,just any function will do.
    so any suggestion about the above scenario in ASCII diagram?
    thank you.

  • Xpath expression not working with xmlparserv2 10.x jar in websphere application server 8

    Hi,
    I am using xmlparserv2 10.x  jar in websphere application server to transform xml. Due to some unknown reason we are seeing inconsistent result for the xpath expression we used inside the xslt.
    .|following-sibling::* This is the xpath expression we use.
    the meaning of the expression is to union the current node and the following siblings of the current node. But while rendering the page( a servlet) for first two times it gives the expected result. From the third time, it is giving unexpected results. It is missing the first node in the following-sibling::* So it just results in current node and misses the next node and then combine the nodes following the next node.
    For example when executing the above expression on the node A , it should result A B C D. It is returing correctly for first 3 times. From the 4th time it just results  A C D and misses B.
    <root>
         <A />
         <B />
         <C />
         <D />
    </root>
    But it giving results consistently when using xmlparserv2 9.x jar. But it is not 1.5 compliant.
    Pleas help!..
    Thanks,
    SP.

    If you are new to JSF, then I'd try and simplify the environment in which you are working as the first step to achieving a successful outcome.
    JSF 1.2 is a certified and well tested component of WLS, so we know it works. I'm not sure of the effect of all those additional modules you are adding in there -- it appears as if you have gotten a Faces implementation instantiated, but there could be some form of version difference/conflict since it can't find a method its looking for.
    Using Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/oepe_11115.html) you can build yourself out a pretty simple JSF application to get started from and deploy it to a WLS server. This would remove all the additional libraries you currently have, provide you with a bundled applicaton to deploy and give you a pretty good environment from which you can learn and experiment with JSF.
