Xsl parameters and java
Can someone post a sample code of java where a oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLProcessor send a parameter to a xsl file.
It could be fine to see how the XSL file declares and uses this parameter.

Then at the top of the style sheet just declare parameters with the right name:
<xsl:param name="param" />
<xsl:param name="param2" />
(maybe param was a bad name for a param :)
and then you can use it like any other paramter.

We are looking for Time out parameters for our ABAP and JAVA instances.
As users are complaining that they are getting time out error
while they are trying to access Cprojects from Portal.
I was able to check/collect the ABAP instance parameters from SMICM Tcode.

Difference between "javaw" and "java"
When running my code using "javaw.exe" supplied with JDeveloper 3.1, I kept getting "java.lang.NullPointerException" errors. However, it runs perfectly using Sun's "java.exe" (v 1.3.0).
Why the difference?Here's the code: the error occurs in the line " proc.processXSL(transform,source,transformResult);". However, this is part of a method that is called from main() - and is called several times during a for loop. The first time it works perfectly, the second time it fails gracefully, the third time (and subsequent times) it sometimes fails to report an exception! Note also that main() calls the method with exactly the same parameters, and the method is doing exactly the same thing every time.

I am attempting to enable a HTML button (using Javascript's onClick command) to directly input a number into one of the parameter text boxes in the Easy Filter Java applet (ie, enter a new color value number in the text field of the standard Colors Multiplicator Filter interface).
The applet is Freeware and can be downloaded at: http://www.javazoom.net/applets/easyfilter10/EasyFilter10.html
(It is a very effective bitmap display and editing utility)
To achieve this, I am trying to access the part of the applet that defines and sets the textbox. The text box is defined in the .class file by accessing the parameter details in the genericfilter.txt file (accompanies the .class files). I need to access 'private String appletInitialize()' and then one of the 'textFieldParameters' which sets the textbox.
I understand the basic syntax for referencing the applet:
document.appletname.setString("An example"). However, accessing the text fields in this applet is more complex!!
Please can you recommend the correct Javascript syntax to achieve communication with the applet.

Hello,
We are having MI 7.0 at SPS15.Am trying to apply add to our system(we created SDA file from NWA as an addon).SDA addon getting deployed but its not getting sync between ABAP and Java stack even if is run reload sever time from NWA->Administrator->Mobile Infrastructure->Mobile Components.I can see add-on when i check from SDM but it cannot see when i search under Mobile component in NWA.Application logs shows below error.

Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Ever wondered how and where the XI pipeline gets executed? It happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so on.

Sending Data from R/3 to Java and Java to SAP
Dear All,
I am working on a scenario in which I have to send data from sap system to Non-SAP system (Java System).
Now one way is that I made a RFC in my SAP system and Java can call it using JCO adapter. But In this case I am not able to understand how to go another way,means how to capture data or messages from Java.
Secondly I have searched and found that IDOC can help me lot in this process ,I am new to IDOCS but through R & D , I have made the IDOC and done the following steps:-
1. Segment Creation (WE31)
2. IDOC Types (WE30)
3. Message Type (WE81)
4. Linking Message type and IDOC type (WE82)
5. Create Distribution Model (BD64)
Now I am struck on 5th step , I am not able to distribute model when I distribute it I get the following Error

JAVASYS is the logical system I created using SALE and ALL_00_800 is already there in LS.
I am not able to understand that my receiver system is NON SAP system so do I have to create logical system for it , and I have IDES system as sender system with only one client 800, what are all the configuration I have to do on SAP side.
I am also not able to understand where I will write my code to fetch data based on the input provided by NON SAP system as I will have to design IDOC for both Inbound and Outbound processes.

I can the report using the URL :

and passing the report parameters ...
But is there any way to call the report by pdf format and passing the parameters from java without using the url ???thank you shahcsanjay for your reply
but I think that web.showDocument can not be used by ordinary java web application ..
I think it can be used only with with "oracle forms" Am I right ?

Simple XML to Text onversion using XSLT and Java?
Hi all!
I'm completly new to using XSLT and Java and are trying to convert a XML file into a ordinary Textfile that I am gonna import into another application.
I started up writing a ordinary XML parser in Java which interpreted the XML file, but realized later on that it was possible to do with a ordinary XSLT.
So far it is a 2-step process right now, I've tied my XSLT to the XML file and then just open the XML file up in a ordinary browser and then get the result.
I found an example (http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/excerpt/java_xslt_ch5/index.html?page=3) where u hook up a XML file and a XSL file separately and the process it, and dump it to Stdout. While creation of SC, I am getting error "Error during VM container communication between ABAP and JAVA"
Based on earlier responses in this forum, I checked following activity.
1. T Code - BBP_CND_CHECK_CUST
Result - IPC Pricing is Active and IPC is now running in VMC
2. Run Report - RSVMCRT_HEALTH_CHECK
Result - The Java component is deactivated
3. As per OSS note 854170, Profile parameters were existed as below
a) vmcj/enable - on
b) vmcj/option/maxJavaHeap = 200M
So, How to get Java component activated?

I'm new to BI Publisher. I began with a simple report that has 4 parameters. The parameters are center code, sales date, customer number, and job number. I am trying to create a list of values on my customer number based on the center code and sales date entered by the user. My query for my LOV is:

where center_cd = :center
and trunc(trans_date) = :salesDate
salesDate is defined as a date parameter with a format of MM-dd-yy. It's default value is 04-10-07.
When I attempt to view my report after adding the LOV, I receive the error:
Date format can not be null.
What am I doing wrong? Also, I would like the salesDate to default to the current date. I have tried using sysdate as the default value. This isn't working. The salesDate defualts to null when it is set to sysdate."Date - allows the user to enter a date as a parameter. Note that the data type must also be "Date" and the format must be Java date format."

You can use the JCO RFC Provider Service of the Web Application Server for your ABAP to Java calls.
The steps involved in that are
1. Configure destination in SM59 in SAP.
2. Create RFC Destination in Visual Admin.
3. Create a stateless session bean with JNDI name as the name of calling function module in SAP.
4. Add a business method public void processFunction(JCO.Funtion fn) which is called by the JCO RFC Provider Service. The name should be 'processFunction'.
5. Set library references in application-j2ee-engine.xml to type weak for the following
a. com.sap.mw.jco.
b. com.sap.tc.Logging (if you are using the logging api )

Add/Edit other HTTP Destination named SLD_Client with the same values as SLD_DataSupplier:

Go to SLD Data Supplier service.

Function and java class problem
Hi, i`m trying to develop a function that is using java class in body and return a table. I will show some code for better understanding.
I`m creating TYPE:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

FF 15 and Java 7 plugin on Win 8 not working
Just did a fresh install of Win8 on a totally new machine. Installed latest FF (15.0.1) and Java 7. Everytime I go to a page requiring Java it says I need the plugin. I've searched all over the web and can't find an answer although others have had the same problem and appeared to have worked around it.
Reinstalled FF
Reinstalled Java
Tried running program in Win 7 compatibility mode
If I go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Java -> Advanced and look at Default Java for Browser, it's set for IE, but the box for FF is unchecked. I check it, hit apply or OK (tried both) and after the window closes, I go back in and FF box is unchecked again.
about:plugins shows Java installed. At wits end here....
I'm not posting from my Win 8 box so installed plugins is hand typed.I do have Java 7 U7. I originally had both 32 and 64 bit installed, now I've got it down to 32 bit only. Still no joy. I go to a website and it tells me to install the plugin, I try to and the installer says it's already there. Now there is a difference though, the Java console shows Mozilla Family checked but it no longer shows as being installed in the plug ins on the troubleshooting info page.
Here's the Troubleshooting Info as I'm back on there now.

Issue with XSL transformation in Java Stored Procedure
Hi,
Am having issue applying XSL transformation in Java Stored procedure. I have loaded the java class as well as .XSL files through loadjava uility and their status in DB is VALID.
Below is the code in the java stored procedure:

My first.xsl file has reference to other excel file (Ex: <xsl:include href="second.xsl"/>) which seems to be causing this error. When I remove the reference, procedure is working fine.
Pls let me know how to resolve this and read the .XSL file with references.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I have seen that post before creating this thread. I thought that I could make use of java mail to work around this problem. I created a java class that succesfully sends mail to SSL host. I tried to call this java class from pl-sql through java stored procedure. That did not work
So, is this not supported in Oracle ? Please note that I have tested this in both 9i and 11g , in both the versions I got the error. You can refer to the code in the above post.
